Statement of the government of Latao & Nyssa regarding flights of the CIA thru Latoa:
The government of the Confederacy of Latao sent a request of information to the responsible authorities of the United States of America, stating that we wish to receive further information on the purpose and content of those 23 flights via Latin territory. As you all know, 9 of these flights landed on airports of Latao for quick maintenance and to refill their gas tanks.
Basically, there is very little information available on such flights, because we can not search inside air planes of foreign nations, if Latao is not the final destination of these flights. International law prohibits us from doing so.
Neither the Ministry of Civil Aviation nor the government therefore has detailed information who or what is inside a foreign machine; the only information we have is the international “license plate” of the machine that shows where a plane was registered and in what country and a declaration form filled in by the pilots of these machines.
Under these circumstances, the Federal Council thinks that there is currently no need for further action in this affair, such as a parliamental investigation commission.
