Description: IN VIEW of the Universal Bill of Human Rights, and the Gay Rights resolution;

The UN HEREBY :

DEFINES marriage as the civil joining of a member of any nation with any other member of any nation, regardless of sex, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, color, or any other characteristic, with the exception of age;

RECOGNIZES age of the individual(s) as a just reason for not recognizing marriage, as per Article One of the Child Protection Act;

FURTHER RECOGNIZES all nation's right to expand this definition beyond species borders as the individual governments see fit.

What the hell? The omnipotent UN does not recognize any nation's rights I assume. Maybe we should draft a resolution that would allow nations to disregard anything that falls under national sovreignty. Especially resolutions dealing with marriage and business, and basically anything that doesn't affect the international community as well. Echoing Abattoir on this one as well. -explicitive removed- the UN.

Also, I noticed I said I voted to abstain from the resolution. I guess I was too caught up in Lamoni's wording at that point... I actually voted AGAINST the current resolution for reasons mentioned previously in this post.

As much as I support same-sex marriage, I would have abstained from this proposal if I were in that cesspool of corruption that is the United Nations. This proposal is a major affront to national soverignty. That's why I neither support or oppose it.
