To: Members of the Strategic Defense League From: General Mitchell Mendoza, Commander-in-Chief, Capitalizt Defense Alliance
As we can only assume that the unprovoked attack on Nedalia was by the forces of the Protectorate of Starblaydia, the Capitalizt Defense Alliance is prepared to assist the Strategic Defense League in any way possible to defend Atlantian Oceania from Starblaydia’s aggression. We wish to send a representative to discuss our involvement in the war. |

KNV Carain, somewhere in Lamonian waters...
As Admiral Voors conversed with his Lamonian counterpart, Khara became distracted as the comms officer came up saluted him, and the stood at attention. Khara smiled politely to his Lamonian guests and bowed. "Excuse me for a moment gentlemen, something else calls me away." He then turned aside and walked away with the comms officer. "We just recieved an message from the Alliance, they are preparing integrate all allied forces in their theatre into their ASAF.NET program." said the officer. Khara nodded. "Good, contact them and give them the relevant information that they need for it. Also let them know that we will be making all hast to their southeastern ports as soon as we are through gathering our forces here." The officer nodded, saluted again, and then left.
Khara then turned his attention back towards the admirals and their conversation. "Gentlemen, if I may interrupt for a second." he turned his attention fully to the Lamonian admiral. "I would like to pledge as much as we can to your efforts and Operation: Scimitar here as is possible, but I must also be frank with you. The main objective of this expeditionary force is to stop the Starblaydi war machine from steamrolling over the Allied States. Therefore, the bulk of our forces will be going to aid them as such. We were hoping that we could get what men and women you could spare to join with us on our way towards Alliance waters."
With that Khara stopped for a breath and awaited a reply from the Lamonian admiral.
Meanwhile, back in Archon City...
Michael Arani and Danielle Uram had both been very busy since the departure of Patriarch Khara. While he had been keeping in touch via video satellite uplink, now that he had entered allied waters and was trying to amass a multi-national force to go to the Allied States and stop the Starblaydi offensive, his uplinks had been increasingly infrequent.
Strangely it didn't seem to affect much so far. It had only been a day or so and each of the ministries had managed to keep themselves busy with their day-to-day tasks that maintained the Dominion and its countless citizens. The war-effort was just starting to get geared up and patriotic fervor was at an all time high. Of course, this was also due to some helpful prodding by the Ministry of Defense and their public relations division, but that went conviently unnoticed by the average person on the street.
For the time being, Minister Arani and Minister Uram where taking a break and having a nice lunch at the palace complex. It was a very rainy day, so they they dined inside one of the nations' largest banquet halls. After finishing off a rather nice Nedalian quisine, and getting ready for a desert that was said to be from Bettia, Minister Arani noticed an aid approaching. Dabbing a napkin on his mouth to get rid of the excess crumbs and food that was still there, he placed it on his lap and gave his full attention to the aid.
"What's the news?" he said, knowing that anytime someone came to him, it was about the war. "Well sir, we've recieved word from the people in Commerce Heights that they are interested in contributing to our war effort, as in the League's war effort." said the aid. Arani nodded. "That's interesting, but aren't they ASPIRE? I though those guys where staying neutral and trying to ride this thing out." The aid nodded at the minister's observation. "They are sir."
Arani seemed to mull this over for a minute or two before responding. "Wait for the time being, tell our rep in the SDL HQ in Kafra to wait and see what the other League member want to make of this. Probably will be glad for the help, but all the same, I don't want to jump the gun on something. Just observe for now."
"As you wish minister." the aid said as he bowed and then left. |

Before the Admiral could open his mouth to speak, someone else knocked on the door. This time, the message form was for him. After reading it, he frowned. "It appears that Operation: Scimitar has been cut short. Suspected Starblaydi naval forces have attacked Honsfield in Nedalia, and also a nearby Nedalian naval base. Casualties are unknown at the moment, but are expected to be high. It appears that Milchama and Krytenia have now declared war on Starblaydia, and we all know of Commerce Height's offer." |

In the office of the president, Marshalliston:
President Sébastien Desroches: "Well guys, we've got to take a decision... Our allies in the SDL declared war on Starblaydia, but not us. Because my predecessor, Mrs. Durocher, didn't like wars. Well, now it's over... Once the session started, we will put a motion forward the parliament so that the war can be declared..."
Aid Jean Chevalier: "Hell... wait a minute Sébastien... you were elected last week... you are not even sworn in..."
President Desroches: "I was yesterday, remember... Anyway, let's call a special joint session of the Assemblée Nationale and the Sénat."
Aid Chevalier: "Ok. In 72 hours, war will be declared on any member of the SAAS..."
President Desroches: "Alright... Let's celebrate this... Champagne mon cher?"
Aid Chevalier: "Bien sûr!! Vive Oliverry! Vive la démocratie!"
**48 hours later, after all MANs and Senators have been called:**
President Desroches: "Bienvenue députés, honorables membres du sénat. I've called for this special session because the moment is critical. War is at our gates. We all know Hockey Canada is being neutral. Vilita too. Khazaron, Lamoni, Bazalonia and Nedalia are some of our allies. But, there are enemies just on the other side of Hockey Canada... to name them, Starblaydia and Footballia, which are SAAS members.
After further review, both of the military and of the strenghts in presence, I've came to the conclusion that a special debate was needed about the question. This debate will last for 24 hours. At the end, a bill will be voted upon which will officially declare war on the SAAS. Here is the bill:
"Projet de loi A-1: Motion asking the government of Oliverry to declare war on the Strategic Alliance of Autocratic States
Proposed by: Le Très Honorable Président de Oliverry Seconded by: L'Honorable Premier Ministre de Oliverry et Député de Marshalliston-Ouest--Les-Anges, Richard Ratchett.
The following articles are approved by a majority of MANs and Senators:
- Oliverry has recognized the fact that war is ravaging at his gates. Allies are fighting for freedom while we are doing nothing to help them;
Thus,
- Oliverry, with this present motion, hereby declares war on all members of the Strategic Alliance of Autocratic States;
- Oliverry will send troops outside the nations to help its allies to fight;
- We will also keep some troops inside the nation for the defense of the national territory;
- Some military bases (5) will be reserved for allies, in order to prepare any attack or defense plan;
- No forced conscription of civilans shall be done. Though, reserve forces shall be conscripted at the passing of this motion."
Before the bedate starts, who would like to accept former speaker of the Assemblée, Charles Dufour, to keep his job?"
*Everyone acclaims*
President Desroches: "Ok then... In 24 hours, it will be time for the vote. Let the deliberations start! Vive Oliverry! Vive la démocratie!"
**24 hours later**
Charles Dufour: "Now that the 24 hour limit has been passed, it's time to count who is for and who is against the A-1 Bill, Motion asking the government of Oliverry to declare war on the Strategic Alliance of Autocratic States. Any yeas?"
*499 people stand up to state that they're for the motion*
Charles Dufour: "Any Nays?"
*50 people stand up to state that they're against the motion*
Charles Dufour: "The motion has been accepted! The special session is now closed. You can all go back to your respective homes. Vive Oliverry!"
***As the news of the passing of the motion arrived in presidential office, President Desroches is very happy!***
President Desroches: "Finally!!"
Aid Chevalier: "See what I meant? 72 hours! Well, we've got it!!"
President Desroches: "Wanna celebrate? Wine?"
Aid Chevalier: "Sure!! What wine?"
President Desroches: "Un Pinot Noir, mon cher. Produit au vignerai de Lexington Hills!"
Aid Chevalier: "Oooohhhhh!!! Sure, let's take some!!"
**4 hours later**
Aid Chevalier: "T'es saoul... Ouais..."
President Desroches: "Not at all... let's write this communiqué about our war declaration..."
And that's how the war was declared in Oliverry!

"What? All right, release a statement at once."
Official Chacoran government statement We are disappointed that the Capitalizt States and Oliverry have chosen to join the war. It now seems inevitable that this conflict will not be solved diplomatically. That said, Chacor would like to reinforce that we do not plan to engage our military in any way during this war, and would like to re-iterate our hope that no bloodshed comes from this.
James Martin-Gibson Interim Prime Minister Chacor
He sent that out, then dialled for Thomas Douglas, in Liverpool England. "Tommy, is everything done yet?"
"Not yet, James. I know I can't handle this when I'm so far away. I've already proposed an emergency sitting of the Chacoran Parliament to accept my immediate resignation as Prime Minister of Chacor."
"Uh... wow. Okay, well, best of luck to you. You've got a spot in my Cabinet when you come back, for sure."
He hung up, stunned. He was now full Prime Minister of Chacor.
He quietly typed out a message to Starblaydia.
To: Lady-Protector Viannor of Starblaydia From: James Martin-Gibson, Prime Minister of Chacor Re: Conflict with SDL
Good day, Lady-Protector, It is an honour to announce that I have, with immediate effect, been appointed Prime Minister of Chacor. As you may know, we are unwilling to commit militarily to this conflict. However, in an effort to cement our good ties, Chacor would be willing to help logistically in the conflict.
I presume Inquisitor Portisso informed you of our meeting. The Parliament stands by its stand that no Starblaydi strategisation should occur within Chacor. However, we are willing to offer some information that our Hurricane Hunter flights gathered while tracking a recent hurricane that made landfall in Bedistan. Logistics help is also available, should it be needed.
Personally, I do wish that no blood is spilled, but the attempt on your life cannot be condoned. Wishing all forces luck in the war,
James Martin-Gibson Prime Minister Chacor |

T-7 #8492, Outskirts of Legalese City "Bloody hell," the tank driver observed, "they're shootin' at my tank!" He thought of it as his, after all.
"Bugger your tank," the gunner replied, who was an equal partner in the venture of going to war in this particular T-7 Gilgamesh, a product of a multinational corporate project which had included the might of the nation of Crookfur's arms industry, "they're shootin' at us!"
"Shoot bloody back, then."
The driver didn't hear the reply of the man sitting next to him, as the MBT's main gun fired in the vague direction of where the rocket - or whatever it had been, glancing off their sloped armour - had come from. The side of a wall, part of a outlying building, disintegrated from the impact of the shell. It would not be the last.
25,762th Mechanised Infantry Division, 1st Brigade, 3rd Battalion, Dog Company, Outskirts of Legalese City "Get these buildings cleared and flush 'em out!"
The characteristic swooping sound of an incoming mortar momentarily made most of the troops duck down, even inside the building. Most of the battalion were tasked with taking this section of road, and there were enough troops, just about, to take practically each and every building as they progressed into the heart of the city. Like the skin of an onion, the city's blocks would be stripped of Clansmen one by one.
As the first heavy machine gun opened up on the Starblaydi forces, they knew - as if they hadn't before - that this onion would make their eyes water.
"Air support inbound," The radio guy yelled, the earpiece seemingly glued to the side of his head, "receiving our strobes five-by-five."
There was no need to hunker down, their A-14 Gryphon close support wouldn't accidentally bomb them, the strobe device, registering on the attack craft's insturments, would take care of that. Anything that didn't have a strobe, however, was in deep trouble. This consitutued any Allied States' defenders who were out in the open.
The battalion was starting to take not insignificant losses from the mines, machine gun nests and mortar emplacements. More artillery support was called for, and more heavy fire rained down on the defenders. Unless, the First Sargeant thought, they could find a quicker, more efficient and down-right less dangerous way of taking a city, this would turn into a long, slow and costly war indeed.
"Covering fire! Move up!" |

Courthouse District, Legalese City, Former Legalese
Lieutenant/3rd Perry rested in the back of the tracked infantry carrier. His squad had been involved in a good two hours of hard fighting as the Starblaydi forces forced their way into the city center as the Clansmen withdrew slowly, pounding away at the Corps-strength group attacking the City. The specialization in urban combat had paid off. Casualties were relatively low, with the 151st fighting at just a weakend division strength, with the equivalent of four brigades still fighting throughout the city. The few civilian inhabitants had fled towards Starblaydi lines, as the Army HQ group had little room for their transportation. The HQ Division was finally pulling up its last stakes in the ground, and were about ready to pull out.
The hardest part of the assignment was covering the division. Once the 151st Light Airbourne and the 23rd Armoured pulled out, the Starblaydi forces would be able to surge through the city and into the chase. The HQ group had to get to the border fast while not getting chewed up as the artillery from the Starblaydis pounded them. Battalions of the HQ division had already pulled out, and were making a mad dash towards the border. The Crawler tanks though, for all there investment, were finally making the money on them worth it. Perry had seen the tanks take out more than one T-7 stuck in the rubble before skittering down to another thoroughfare to cause even more havoc.
The air support from the Starblaydis had been excellent however, and the Crawlers were forced to move out from undercover sparingly. That still hadn't supressed their distinct advantage in the urban sphere of combat. For a light infantry outfit, the 151st had fought excellently as well. It spoke as a testament to the advanced weapons, command-and-control, and training they had all received. Starblaydi on the other hand, looked less organized and cohesive then the ASA. Their numerical advantage was staggering however, and it probably wouldn't matter how well trained they were if they suffered heavy casualties. Captain/2nd Jakobz arrived in the AIC-2 and told Perry to get moving, they were going back to the front.
He and his men slowly filed out of the IFV, and Jakobz took him aside as the men went through an quick supply check. "Listen Perry, you've done a fine job with your unit. Get them through this alive, we're going to need experienced units." Perry could tell that there was something that Jakobz wasn't telling him. His demeanor was one of nervousness and his glanced every which way. "We'll be withdrawing in another twenty minutes. The city center is going to fold like a cheap paper back, and we'll give the Starblaydis something they want, a part of the HQ. But it'll be a trap. Spotted artillery and tanks, along with some A-8 Sidefires and AH-7 Mjolnirs will be ready in ambush.
"You're going to be in charge of the three platoons that will take the left flank in the ambush. You're buildings will be that one, and the two down the street from it." He pointed at the three buildings, just off the main boulevard and down a side street away from the main square, surrounded by the largest courthouse in the city, which once served as the main hub for law in the capital of lawyers. "After this ambush, we're pulling out of the city. Use the civilian vehicles, and get to Sagdineo. The main body of the Division is withdrawing with the HQ, but we can't afford to all travel together. About half of the division will split and head towards Plainsville, Okerson, Sagdineo and Nadiaville."
Perry nodded as Jakobz patted his shoulder and ran to the Division HQ, where he would organize with General/3rd Dodimakos on the ambush. They didn't have much time. Perry called together the platoons and began the work.
Terrace Garden, 16 Canford Street, Graham City
President-Elect Kingsley stood at the podium in front of the media, ready for his speech about what was going on in Legalese. The Plague with the invasion by Starblaydia had turned the place into a nightmare. The NAO had returned with a vengeance, supplied with new weapons and vigour to win. ASIS suspected ties between the NAO and Starblaydia, while not necessarily friendly ones, friendly enough that they would both end up fighting the Alliance, almost asuredly. He adjusted his tie, and looked at the crowd. Part of his staple speech was his memorization of each speech he gave. No need for the teleprompters or anything of the like.
"Ladies and gentlemen of the press, those watching at home and around the region. I am here to present to you an update on the situation in the former and current Legalese. We have seen the Starblaydi war machine sweep down upon the nation with little resistance. Our forces were caught by surprise and lacked the heavy weapons to pick apart the advance. Even as we speak, the Headquarters Division of the 10th and 13th Army Groups are engaging in a battling retreat as the Starblaydi invasion force attempts to sweep them away.
"I am not afraid to say the truth, that we weren't prepared for this. We did not take the threat of Starblaydia seriously enough. When Tiberius Starblayde was assassinated, it should have warned us. When Viannor acted, it should have warned us that she would take any action to sate her power-mad ambitions. We see now, clearly, that she was willing to do anything to precipitate a conflict. My heart goes out to the families how have suffered in the battles at Lake Bekk and in the Crystil Channel. Today, I and all of my government stand in mouring with you.
"But behind me, you will see something. It is a flag at full mast, one not daunted by what the forces of darkness and terror will throw at it. One that even with the death of our sons and daughters will stand and fight. We have seen an outpouring of grief at this unfounded attack on our sovereignty. We have seen the viciousness, from the bombings of Verdena to the terror wreaked upon her own citizens, that Starblaydia is willing to go to project thier power and influence and their oppression!
"Our family from the Strategic Defence League has come to our aid, to which we all thank. To those Myrtannians, I express my prayers and condolences who have lost two leaders in a matter of days. I am heartened by your show of friendship in your offer of aid, which will be gladly accepted. I'm warmed by the Bazalonian troops who have already arrived to aid us defend out borders, and by the Khazaronian fleet on the way to our borders. To the Nedalians who are bodly willing to sacrifice with us as we defend our freedom.
"We must not lose heart now. We have made our stand, now we must stay firm. I am calling all those of able body and spirit to volunteer for the Armed Forces today. We will not come out of this conflict unscathed and undamaged, but we must stand and fight. Our livelihood, our philosophy, our very way of life is being threatened by what is going on in the North, to our south in Nedalia, and around the region. To those watching in the nations who have chosen to ally themselves with us, I thank you for your sacrifice. I also call for you to volunteer for you Armed Forces. Starblaydia and her gang of thugs will not stop at our door.
"They will knock down every house, kill our children, and will not rest until all resistance to her is blotted out, and darkness descends upon our very souls. Thank you all, and remember, no matter the darkness, no matter how close the cliff looks; freedom will TRIUMPH!" He pumped his fist and thanked the reporters, and handed it off to General Myers. He walked back into the building with Andrew Jons at his side.
"Some reports are coming out of Pacitalia, their armed forces are getting jittery. They want to be involved, and word is all they need is our request to send troops."
Kingsley barely paused as he agreed to drag another nation into this damned war. "Good, get General Myers to send his aide, the one from OC Intelligence. I want them here as soon as possible." |

Sandstone House, Halosen, Myrtannia
With the medical condition of Porfirio Trahin worsening by the day, Mohammed Akbar-Maheed had finally completed his climb up the ladder to the Presidency. The second man sworn in by the Chief Justice in less than a week, Akbar-Maheed would return the government to a more moderate, Holton-esque foreign policy. Treading the fine line between aiding the SDL and violating the Constitution was no easy task. However, with the offers he'd made of aid to the Alliance of Nine States accepted, that had been skillfully avoided.
President Akbar-Maheed had no trouble in convincing the National Congress to approve immediate emergency financial support for the SDL. They were all too eager to assist allies without contributing military forces. He also had managed to get their support for his new cabinet selections, as well as the immediate military aid to be sent to Yihsrael. With new Rightists popping up, the MDF would be committed to stopping them before they became a major threat again. This was one case where Myrtannian military aid wasn't under heavy fire by the public. The attempted assassination of Winfred Watte and slaying of Matthew Stone had riled up the Myrtannian public. Support for Yihsrael would not be questioned; it was, in fact, anticipated and expected by the people.
Meanwhile, he had made the final arrangements for the Nurses Battallion to be sent to the warzone, and was helping organize future volunteer teams to be sent to other hot spots. If the SDL nations wished for that kind of Myrtannian aid, it would be readily available. For now, the first group was already en route to the Lowland Clans.
"May Allah protect them," he spoke under his breath, then prepared for his meeting with new Vice President , along with new Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Magnolia Vontugeln.
Somewhere in the skies, nearing TLC territory
As ordered by President Akbar-Maheed, the Nurses Battallion was flying to the Alliance of Nine States. Three of the largest class of cargo plane in Myrtannia - ex-military craft painted with the Red Crescent symbol instead of UIM national insignia - were above what was presumed to be friendly territory. They'd taken the most roundabout way to TLC that offered as much time over friendly nations as possible, but it was worth it to keep the medical teams and supplies safe. One plane was filled with supplies needed for treatment that would be needed in a combat hospital. While they weren't military themselves, the nurses and doctors wore discontinued Myrtannian khaki military style uniforms formerly issued to Air Force ground personnel. On one shoulder was a patch with the Myrtannian Sun Burst flag, while on the other was a Red Crescent insignia.
Leading this volunteer group was Dr. Evonne Maciejko, a skilled surgeon and doctor of internal medicine. She'd served in the MDF previously, so she had some knowledge of field medicine as well. As Dr. Maciejko glanced out the window, she spotted the A-4 Bird of Prey fighters bearing MAF markings flying in formation in escort of the transports. President Akbar-Maheed had ordered the MAF to escort them in order to avoid any trouble from SAAS craft that might interfere with their journey.
Soon, a voice came crackling over the intercom, "Attention, we are now entering Lowland Clans air space."
"Well, we made it.." Dr. Maciejko thought aloud, and wondered how much longer they'd be in the air. |

Coded message from FNA HQ to Army Groups A, B, C, F, G:
Somewhere south of Bellona, near the Legalese-Alliance border
Priña-Klaons Gar Firt listened intently as the Kernel announced the plans. They were finally ready to move forward, under cover from the NACGF and artillery. After the Kernel told them all to finish preparing, Firt sloshed through mud that was becoming increasingly deep. He hoped his tank would not be too screwed up by it, it was very light after all. He clambered into his drivers section. He could occasionally hear artillery fire from both sides, the Alliance guns definitely sounding deeper than his Footballian ones. He hoped that the greater FNA mobility could see them through the war against the heavier Alliance. He felt the gunner and commander climb into the tank just as the rain began to come down even harder. The thought that he might die now had completely been banished from his mind.
Hours had passed, he was bored. Doubt began to creep into his mind again, perhaps he would die. Perhaps Footballia shouldn't be here. What quarrel did he have with the Alliance? To distract himself from this, Firt began thinking of perhaps why they hadn't attacked yet. Maybe they were going to call it off, maybe they had made peace. The most likely assumption, however, was that the air support was still coming and the artillery was ramping up its bombardment. From the screeching of the F-15Es, he could tell that that was right. When a minute later the Kernel came on the comm ordering them to move forward, his adrenaline began pumping again. Ramping the speed up, the tank roared forward through the mud. He felt momentary sadness for all those foolish men stuck on foot behind him, but left that behind as battle began.
----------------------
The FNA was finally getting experience against an army other than the Rorçn. Groups F and G performed much the same manuevers miles to the southeast. Both were confident, both were muddy and wet.
Imperial Palace, Loçñalkyo, Oberepyun, Empire of Footballia "I told you, I don't think any sort of marriage should happen during war. Not a good message."
"But sir, think of the Empire! What if those Rorçn had gotten you? You have no heir, no possibility of an heir. At least not one that would be accepted by most. The Empire is very conservative, sir. A bastard would practically beg for civil war, perhaps even a Third Republic."
"I do have an heir, Advisor."
"Yes sir, but he is a cousin. Plus you have another cousin. If you were to die and the first was to take power, the latter would naturally fight. The Empire would be torn, we could not take a second civil war, especially with the Rorçn and SDL."
"I will give it thought. Now get out, and leave me be."

Khara rejoined the meeting between his admirals and their Lamonian counterparts. "Gentlemen, my pardons for interrupting, but I'm afraid we must get underway immediately. The longer we wait, the further the Starblaydi have a chance at advancing." He then turned towards the Lamonian admiral. "We would greatly appreciate you sparing who you could for the venture, but if have other concerns locally, or other plans, we will understand. We will be in touch with you over the ASAF.NET." With that he walked out of the meeting room to give the order to depart within the next couple of hours.
(OOC: Anyone who wants to join the Khazaronian effort to Alliance territory is welcomed to post so, otherwise I'll assume they are heading straight for Alliance turf.) |

Legalese City Centre Starblaydia's forces, almost by weight of sheer numbers, were steadily forcing the Allied States troops back. Seemingly down every side street and back alley lurked a light infantryman or one of those blasted walking tanks, eager to spit some death at the approaching Starblaydi before scuttling away to set up another fire point down another walkway. The tactics for the invaders were now simple: bring down as much firepower as possible on each position, encircle it and destroy it. If there was one thing that Starblaydi forces were good at, even in close-in fighting situations such as this, it was firepower.
The T-7 Gilagmesh tanks were not finding the streets of Legalese to be their preferred hunting ground, though when one did catch a glimpse of the C-6 Crawler tanks it was quickly blasted to kingdom come, legs twisted in the air like some foul dieing octopuss. Tanks, troops and armoured vehicles progressed down the streets, their main objective to clear out the very heart of the city. The onion's skin had been stripped down to the last layer, and anything further would simply be another matter of firepower. A matter which Starblaydia would win. Essentially, Legalese City was already in their hands, a stopping off point before launching head-on into Allied States territory. It would only be a product of time until they had it totally in their grasp. Theirs would not be an easy passage, though.
"Ambush!"
What little forces the ASA had remaining in Legalese City were here, crowded around the Divisional Headquarters in one final sting at Starblaydia's hide. Those men unfortunate to advance first, died first. As the front line pulled back, artillery pounded them back to their hiding places. Counter-Battery fire from Starblaydia soon silenced those guns, and any attack helipcopter, even the Clansmen's AH-7 Mjolnir, is vulnerable to rocket fire from troops on the ground.
The Quadrant of Death became silent almost as quickly as the ambush had taken place, save for the rumblings of Starblaydi tanks and troop transports. They Starblaydis would find only booby traps in the city after that, nary a Clansman to be seen. All of former Legalese was now theirs, and the next stop was Lowland Clans soil itself. |

The cameras began to roll.
QUOTE | New Babylonia, Xile. 2:15pm
My dear citizens of Xile and the greater region of Atlantian Oceania at large:
Today marks the beginning of many dark days to come. On the stage of international politics, we have become idle. Choosing the path of peace as opposed to war, we had decided to end our days of endless posturing and focus on solving internal issues as our primary objective. I am thankful for this. It has made us a greater nation.
However, we can not turn a blind eye to the entire scope of international strife. Our ally, Lady Viannor of Starblaydia, recently had her life threatened. A strike force from The Lowland Clans attempted to infiltrate the defenses of our allies and murder their great leader. In response, Starblaydia retalliated.
The actions of Starblaydia are fair and just. They responded to an unwarranted attack in their homeland. No fault can be found with them in this crisis.
However, in the garbled world of international politics, The Lowland Clans have managed to find some allies. Other forces are attempting to aid this evil regime. They ignore justice and fight only for their own selfish motives. This can not be allowed.
Due to the incendiary actions of The Lowland Clans, and the international support they are attempting to garner beyond reasons comprehendable to a moral human being, we are entering a period of great controversy. We must stand strong in the face of this adversity.
Citing reasons agreed upon in the Lavingrad Pact, the alliance set forth years ago with the Strategic Alliance of Autocratic States, our nation declares war on The Lowland Clans and any nations that assist them in their endeavours against our allies.
We will remain in close contact with our allies in Starblaydia, and assist them in any way we can. We must realize that this declaration will also put as at odds with many other nations in this region. We can not let this deter us from this necessary course. We will protect our way of life. We will fight to keep our region just.
Thank you.

**Televised Statement of Prime Minister Tariskany**
CODE |
This is a very uncertain time in Atlantian Oceania, as I'm sure all of you are already aware. Our friends and allies are fighting in a war in which the entire region will ultimately be affected. With the attempt at Lady Viannor's life, an open attack has been made on the entire system of the SAAS. Starblaydia is already taking action to defend themselves, with Xile and Footballia making the decision to honor the Lavingrad Pact signed between our nations. It is therefore with a heavy heart, that I must announce the decision to defend our country and our allies.
I hereby, officially declare, that Abattoir is in a state of war against Khazaron, Lamoni, Bazalonia, Nedalia, the Lowland Clans, Commerce Heights and any other nation that assists them or the Strategic Defense League in any way, shape, fasion, or form.
We have a long, tough road ahead of us ladies and gentlemen...but I am confident that the character of the Abattoirian people will take us through.
Goodnight.

(OOC: Not much time for anything fancy…)
To: Prime Minister of Abattoir From: 원강지 (ʼWon Gaŋ-ji), Chief Executive Officer, Unified Capitalizt States
I assume that you meant to declare war on the Unified Capitalizt States, and not the city of Commerce Heights. The UCS are not involved in this war, and support neither side. Your declaration of war is without cause, and I ask you to reconsider.

General Mitchell Mendoza arrives at an airport in Kafra. He rents a slani polluting car and drives to the headquarters of the Strategic Defense League. |
