Live Report from Kafra, Nedalia

With all the ballots now officially closed, counting has begun and early reports suggest that the preliminary favorite, Liberal Party candidate Dewars Strand, has a slight advantage over Reform Party candidate, and the past election runner-up, Yasmine Dala'a. Suprisingly, though, the current lead is only by 2%, with Strand reportedly capturing 45% and Dala'a currently at 43%. No other candidate is of note, as there is almost 30 who are spliting just 15%, including Labour Party candidate Josh Wood.

After President Bren passed away, the country was thrown into political chaos, with the Liberal Party claiming that no elections should take place and that the party should pick a president to serve till the next elections. That claim was quickly shot to the ground by the citizens of the country, who came out in millions to protest what looked like a desicion that wouldve gone in the parties favor in Parliament. In the end, the citizens had their way, and with justified results. Dala'a is now only 2% behind the favorite, Dewars Strand, who is widely viewed as the most powerful man in Nedalia today after the death of President Andrew Bren.

Despite the events of the past several weeks, and the tension that had ensued because of said events, things had begun to cool down rather nicely across the Dominion. The Patriarch was sitting in one of his many spacious living rooms, watching a big screen television and glancing at the news that was coming in from across the region. After channel surfing for a few minutes, he came across something that caught his eye.

...and it appears that with only a two percent gap seperating the two, either Yasmine Dala'a or Dewars Strand will be the next leader of Nedalia. Despite what the polls say here in Nedalia, it seems as though Dewars Strand, due to his actions since the death of President Bren, will have enough clout to carry his campaign through to victory.

This election came after a rather controversial propsal here in Nedalia, by the Labour Party, which had suggested that a President be appointed for the remainder of Bren's term. Millions of citizens voiced their displeasure at such a thing, and so now an election is being held. All things considered though, the nation is pulling along rather nicely. Reporting for KNN News, this is Sara Sinu. Back to you Bob.

The Patriarch clicked the television off and turned back to a report he had sitting in his lap. "Well, at least things are going well for them."

The report sitting in his lap detailed the latest meeting of the National Assembly, and their calls for the de-mobilization of the armed forces reserve. Many of the Assembly where questioning whether or not it was wise, with things so tense right now, to be calling up so many troops. On top of that, the economy was still acting slugish and giving more potency to the outpsoken members of the Nationalist Party, who had been advocating that Khazaron return to a purely socialist economy and withdraw from such costly alliances as was with Nedalia.

Letting his head sink down into his right hand, Khara let out a sigh. He could always overrule the Assembly, but then that would just make matters worse. He needed to find a way to calm things down and quick.
