Jioulit Twaxlit, the new president of Oliverry, told the parliament yesterday his intention to restart diplomatic relations with other nations and to finally go out of its isolationism.
"I'm currently asking the SDL the permission to join the alliance. Oliverry just gone out of a crisis and, with a new party leading the government, I think it's finally time to join an alliance. Me and the ministers of the cabinet checked what alliance suited the most our nation and the SDL does it all. That's why I ask the SDL to join that organization. My Federalist predecessor, Sam Gagnon, asked to join the SDL, but didn't join it because the parliament refused that he underwent talks with those nations to join that organization. It's now time that we repair this mistake and that we join that organization where sovereignty of nations is very important. And 2 of our neighbour, Hockey Canada and Khazaron, are members, so why should we not join?" He concluded. He asked the parliament if he could undergo talks with the Strategic Defense League and the parliament accepted in the proportion of about 75%-25%. |

Kafra, Nedalia - In response to Oliverry president, Mr. Jioulit Twaxlit, recent comments about joining the SDL, the Nedalian government's spokespersons released a statement saying there would be no argument from their part.
It was suggested that President Bren immediately approved of the notion when it was presented to him, although there has been no reports of further communications with other SDL leaders in the region. The SDL Headquarters, which has already been redeveloped by the Nedalian government to accomodate the Bazalonians, has been abuzz recently with the announcement of Paladin Technologies, a new project owned jointly by Nedalia and Lamoni, therefore we could not reach anyone there for comments. |

Welcome to LBC Nightly News. I'm Jonathan Hoffman. Today's top story is the decision of the government of Oliverry to join the SDL. Hold on... we're receiving breaking news.

We have just received an official statement from the government on this situation. According to the governmental statement, the government of the Free Republic has no objections to having Oliverry in the SDL; and will help to smooth Oliverry's way to membership.
Now, as I was about to say; Oliverry already has two of it's neighbors; (a map appears on the screen) Hockey Canada and Khazaron, in the SDL. Thus, it makes geopolitical sense for Oliverry to join the alliance. There is also the fact that Oliverry has applied for membership in the SDL before, but their parliament has said no until today.
No one at SDL Headquarters was available for comment. Now to these commercials. |

While both the Khazaronian government and the Khazaronian office at the SDL HQ where both busy with several matters that had been plaguing them lately, word eventually trickled back to the press of the general opinion from the top brass.
"His Highness, James Khara, has stated that he has no plans on opposing the Oliverrian application to the SDL, and has even begun attempts at contacting the relevant government agencies there to initiate closer ties with them. Plans of a proposed ambassadorial exchange and economic trade proposal are said to be in the works by the Patriarch and his cabinet." |

Dear Mr. Khara,
We received your offer for an ambassadorial exchange, and we're happy to announce we will accept this request with pleasure. Considering Khazaron is a neighbouring nation of Oliverry, it will be even easier. As for an economic trade proposal, I'm sure an offer for a reciprocity treaty could be very interesting for both nations. We will as well take the time to thank you for your support for our entry in the SDL. It will surely help us to enter that magnificent organization.

OOC: It would be easier if we used the 'Meeting in Kafra' thread to induct Oliverry into the SDL, I think. Same goes for TLC, and potentially Bedistan if they join. |
