OK. I think it is past time for ASMV to get involved in regional RP, so my question is what are the current alliances and who is in each. I need to figure out which side to chosse or go it on my own. Any help is greatly appreciated.
And also, who do I contact for one of those nice signature banners?

Okay, we've got:
The SDL or Strategic Defence League (Nedalia, Khazaron and Lamoni seem to be the "Original Three", plus there's Bettia, Falcania, HC and Sarz). The SDL effectively replaced the Federation of Like-Minded States, which is now dead.
and
The SAAS or Strategic Alliance of Autocratic States (Star, Kry, Nova Roma, Nojika, Abattoir, Xile and Hypocria)
Plus there's my third alliance that I'll be starting soon that will try to stop AO from becoming a smouldering mess thanks to those two groups. I haven't decided what to call it yet.

Currently, there are two major alliances within the region; the Strategic Alliance of Autocratic States and the Strategic Defence League.
The SAAS is an alliance of Autocratic or Dictator nations.

Krytenia
Nojika
Nova Roma
Starblaydia
Xile
The SDL is an alliance of Democratic nations who came together after the downfall of the Federation of Like-Minded States, which was created in order to counter the SAAS.

See, that was originally my idea. I thought that as there was the FLMS and the Stragetic Alliance, the 'new' and 'little' nations would need an alliance of their own. Then Lamoni comes along and hijacks that idea to make the SDL as 'his' FLMS was buggered. Grrr  |

I would really appreciate that, Pacitalia. I tried putting it on photobucket but all that shows up is that stinking red X. And I guess I need to get with Star on the banner thingy. As for the whole alliance thing, I will take some time to look over things. I would like to discuss your idea as well. Looks like the "Big 2" need some new competition. |

Exactly. The 'bad guys' took out the deranged weirdos, while the 'good guys' then proceeded to conquer the leaderless people, and still own Latao's territory today. How nice of them. But yeah, a third alliance to be somewhere in the middle of the other two would be cool. And, as for an avatar, you don't need photobucket or other hosting space, you should be able to upload your own one. Look under 'Edit Avatar Settings' in your control panel thingy. |

The Allied States of Myrtannia might be interested in a new, third alliance as a counterweight to the Big 2. Like an association of currently nonaligned states, or simply for relative newcomers to the region. Even though Myrtannia may be speaking to Lamoni about the SDL and potential membership, a new faction for the good of all AO, to stand between the SDL and SAAS may well be what is needed to preserve the peace. Just keep that in mind, Pacitalia - we'd gladly help found it if the SDL talks sour, and perhaps even if they go moderately well.
As for a name? Union of Independent States? Alliance of Free Nations? Just some random suggestions at the moment.

Whether or not Myrtannia wishes to join a new alliance, I am still interested in doing so.
How about Coalition of Independent States? Sorry Myrtannia, but CIS sounds better than UIS or AFN. |
