Starblaydi Squad for AOCAF8
We've only won it two times! We're gonna win it three times!

The Goalkeepers
1. Fernando De Marco, Captain, GK, 35 - Corinthian Spirits
13 Caps, 0 Goals (7 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
Returning for his fifth consecutive, and probably last, AOCAF, Fernando has taken two Winners and Two Runner's-Up Medals in his career in this Tournament. He wants to go out with a bang.
12. Angelos Prokopis, GK, 23 - Yeaddin Owls (Vilitan Stellar)
Uncapped (7 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
On of the brightest young Starblaydi keepers today, Angelos' performances earned him a move to the Two-Time World Club Champions from Vilita. Will surely battle with Corominas for the #1 spot in years to come.
19. Jessie Monteith, GK, 35 - Penningworth United
13 Caps, 0 Goals (Uncapped at Under-21 Level)
Perhaps one of the bigger under-acheivers in Starblaydi net, Jessie is here because he's both Starblaydi and a an active goalkeeper.

The Defenders
2. Jikiri Fuinbar, RB, 24 - Iskara Daii
13 Caps, 0 Goals (21 Caps, 2 Goals at Under-21 Level)
The Daii's prominsing young right-back performed dilligently for the Under-21s and has been rewarded with an AOCAF starting place.
3. Fidel Khaif, LB, 31 - Tournetas
15 Caps, 3 Goals (5 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
A stunning and completely out-of-character Hat-Trick over Lamoni in the Semi-Finals of AOCAF7 propelled Starblaydia to their second championship, now he hopes to meet Lamoni once more and prove it wasn't a fluke.
5. Zachariah Loze, CB, 30 - Vecchio Victors
12 Caps, 3 Goals (5 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
A runner-up eight years ago when his formidable penalty-area presence bagged three goals along the way, Zak is a hugely tall player and commands the space around him.
6. Matthew Tobias, CB, 31 - Montepool Waves
8 Caps, 0 Goals (6 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
A solid AOCAF performer for the past three tournaments, Matthew can from a good partnership with Zak, as he is a much classier player. A perfect Stopper-and-Sweeper combination.
13. Alex Vidal, R/CB, 22 - Sonovago City FC (Bedistan 1st Division)
1 Caps, 0 Goals (10 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
A Four Nations Invitantional- and Under-21 World Cup 14-winner, Alex wins his place by virtue of being a great young defender. His skill earned him a move South to Bedistan.
14. Albert Graydon, R/LB, 20 - Vilisorma Locals (Vilitan Declasse)
Uncapped (15 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
A versatile full-back able to play on either side of the pitch, Albert was discovered by a Vilitan side and thrust to prominance, though his attacking isn't quite what it could be.
20. Tyrinho, CB/DM, 25 - Internashionale
13 Caps, 0 Goals (10 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
If he's not sitting in the back-four, he's sitting just in front of the back-four. A classy player, he's at his best when anonymously clearing up the midfield.

The Midfielders
4. Fernando Branco, DM, 33 - Basian Valley
12 Caps, 1 Goal (9 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
One of the better players at the Valley, Fernando is the best available defensive midfielder that Starblaydia have.
7. Ryan Kovac, R/CM, 28 - Folenisa (Liverpool England)
9 Caps, 0 Goals (11 Caps, 2 Goals at Under-21 Level)
His solid, industrious performances on the right wing earned him a move to Folensia, though he is probably an under-estimated talent, even at 28.
8. Raphael Delgado, AM, 30 - Hallad Reavers
13 Caps, 1 Goal (13 Caps, 4 Goals at Under-21 Level)
Never quite living up to his U21 billing, a discipline problem and injury scourge haunt his time at the Reavers. A poor man's Tetsuo Naoki.
11. Nelson de Montford, LM, 24 - Montepool Waves
5 Caps, 2 Goals (21 Caps, 3 Goals at Under-21 Level)
A very good winger who could have played for Nova Britannicus due to his Britannican father. At the Waves he has prospered and a full World Cup Call-up doesn't look too far away.
15. Hurin Menegroth, CM, 31 - Tabeck FC
11 Caps, 2 Goals (6 Caps, 2 Goals at Under-21 Level)
The only Dwarven Captain ever to lift a domestic trophy, Hurin's drive and strength are as good as ever.
16. Jack Maxios, LM, 31 - Hecia
13 Caps, 0 Goals (1 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
Even in the NSFA Cup he looked out of his depth, but as part of a very-decent Hecia side, Maxios overcomes his lack of talent. A real hardworking team player.
17. Itechton Matranga, AM/SC, 19 - Jhanna City
Uncapped (20 Caps, 7 Goals at Under-21 Level)
What can one say about the youngest of the Matranga Tribe? He was named for an AOCAF3 city in Pedriana, and now destiny may be calling him back to AOCAF prominence.
21. Christos Prokopis, CM, 26 - Veles
1 Caps, 0 Goals (2 Caps, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
The older brother of 'keeper Angelos, Christos does well at Veles, despite not earning many call-ups.
22. Juan Miguel Aguilera, C/AM, 20 - Vecchio Victors
Uncapped (4 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 Level)
Overlooked at all levels due to the fact others are better than him, Miguel is no more than a back-up here for experience.

The Fowards
9. Ilias Provatidis, SC, 31 - Hecia
20 Caps, 4 Goals (1 Cap, 0 Goals at Under-21 Level)
Forming an excellent partnership with Mitrofanis at Hecia, this pair have been upgraded to to AOCAF, much to Hecia fans' delight.
10. Michalis Mitrofanis, SC, 22 - Hecia
1 Cap, 1 Goal (6 Caps, 3 Goals at Under-21 Level)
A Champion from last time, Michalis and Illias are back together for a major Regional Tournament. Expect them to shine.
18. Julio Matis, SC, 33 - Honsfield Athletic (Nedalia)
16 Caps, 3 Goals (12 Caps, 4 Goals at Under-21 Level)
Enjoying a wonderful Indian Summer in Nedalia, Matis is currently Top-Scorer in the Nedalian Premier League after 10 games, which has earnt him his shirt back.
23. Florencio Zaragoza, CF/SC, 20 - Tabeck FC
8 Caps, 1 Goal (17 Caps, 7 Goals at Under-21 Level)
A great little Under-21 player, Florencio can step up and be a great player full stop.

The Kit
Home: Starblaydia play in a traditional all-white with some purple trim.
Away: Starblaydia play in a traditional all-purple with some gold trim.
3rd Strip: In case anyone else decides to play in white-and-purple, Starblaydia will play in kind of light pastel claret coloured shirts with black shorts and socks.

I give my opponent permission to godmod away to their heart's content. Go for it.
==========

Colours:
Home Kit:
Yellow & Green Quarters, Yellow Shorts, Green Socks.
Change Kit:
Blue & White Quarters, White Shorts, Blue Socks.

Manager:
Munir At-Tariq - age 53.
Took over as caretaker manager following Ian Atkins' sacking after the Baptism of Fire Cup controversy.

Squad:
Goalkeepers:

1. Amir Bettison - Gabalfa Rovers, age 32, 45 caps.
One of the few to have played for the team since the nation's formation. Considered by many pundits to be something of a talisman. Is currently nursing broken ribs that may keep him out of action for some time.

2. Ricardo DiTorino - Endunn Town, age 19, 11 caps.
A bright prospect renowned for his cat-like agility, DiTorino has made a name for himself since making his team debut at the age of 15.

3. Robert Sole - Lorshill United, age 22, 0 caps.
An ever-present in Lorshill's cup winning team of 2001 but has yet to make his international debut. His 6'4" frame allows him to easily deal with high crosses and set pieces.

Defence:

4. Michael Ryder - Gabalfa City, age 27, 28 caps.
A tough tackler, Ryder has played for the national team since the beginning, but has recently been hampered by a recurring knee injury.

5. Musa Williams - Gabalfa Rovers, age 27, 29 caps.
Has made the left-back position his own since deputising for the injured Michael Ryder. Captain of the 2004 champions and current league leaders Gabalfa Rovers.

6. Wasim Morgan - Ceffinton Town, age 23, 16 caps.
A versatile utility man who can play on the right or left of defence.

7. Geraint Carew - AFC Rendrew, age 26, 36 caps.
A speedy right-sided defender noted for his ability to set up swift counter-attacks. Can also play on the right wing.

8. Said Ismail - Butetown Dragons, age 34, 36 caps.
Vastly experienced defender who has recently returned to his hometown club after plying his trade abroad.

9. Marty Rahl - AFC Rendrew, age 28, 16 caps.
A tenacious player with undoubted defensive capabilities, but whose temperament has occasionally been called into question.

10. Jonathon McKinnon - Ceffinton Town, age 20, 8 caps.
Former captain of the Bettia Under-21 squad, his performances have started to see him come into the reckoning for a regular place in the international squad. A bright prospect for the future.

11. Amir Bin Da'ud - Gabalfa Rovers, age 28, 29 caps.
A solid, dependable defender famed for his long throw-ins. His speed however sometimes lets him down.

12. Gareth Coates (captain) - Grappenhall United, age 25, 25 caps, 1 goal.
A towering physical presence in the centre of defence, his height comes in handy in attacking set-pieces as well as defensive. Has recently been named captain after Amir Bettison's injury.

Midfield:

13. John Connick - Aust Rangers, age 29, 31 caps.
Has come into his own as the playmaker of the team, his natural position is deep in central midfield from which he sets up his forwards.

14. Roman Pullman - Roath Albion, age 28, 14 caps.
An unspectacular but solid, influential figure in the centre of midfield. Probably would have won more caps than he already has if it wasn't for his infamous bust-up with the manager at his former club resulting in a one-year suspension.

15. Aaron Brown - Whitchurch United, age 22, 25 caps, 2 goals.
A quick little player who has proven to be adept at floating in long crosses from the right-hand side.

16. Jason Abdullah - Butetown Dragons, age 19, 11 caps.
Very pacy young left-sided midfielder known for his hot-headed disposition.

17. Omar Whistler - Maindy Wanderers, age 24, 26 caps, 11 goals.
A stylish midfielder known for his efficient style and deft touches. He is also proving to be a cool-headed penalty-taker, something which the Bettian national team has been sorely lacking.

18. Evan Brooks - Gabalfa Rovers, age 27, 43 caps, 13 goals.
The 'Golden Boy' of Bettian football, Brooks is well-known for his prowess from set-pieces and stinging long-range shots.

19. Ieaun Swain - Grappenhall United, age 22, 6 caps, 2 goals.
Self-styled 'country boy' who has recently emerged into the Bettian top flight after leaving his local Fourth Division team.

Forwards:

20. Stuart Abdul-Rahim - Gabalfa Rovers, age 33, 49 caps, 34 goals.
Bettia's long-time target-man and record goalscorer (but only just). An unrivalled poacher in the Bettian First Division.

21. Chris Hutton - Whitchurch United, age 18, 14 caps, 3 goals.
A precocious young talent who has burst onto the domestic scene. Famed (or feared) for his tenacious hassling of opposition defenders.

22. Bobbie Rosenstiehl - Downton, age 23, 9 caps, 4 goals.
A somewhat controversial selection for the national squad, he only qualified because his maternal grandmother was born one mile inside Bettia's borders. He soon silenced his right-wing critics by scoring a brace on his debut in last month's friendly against Unklestan.

23. John Harding - Endunn Town, age 28, 20 caps, 15 goals.
A lanky centre-forward whose early career has been hampered by injuries, but has recently seen his prospects improve after gaining promotion with Endunn. A deadly header of the ball.

24. Gethin Ward - Gabalfa Rovers, age 29, 21 caps, 14 goals.
Forms the feared strike partnership with Stuart Abdul-Rahim which has performed so well both club and country. However, he has recently experienced a dip in form which has seen him lose his first team place in the national squad.

25. Judson York - AFC Rendrew, age 25, 10 caps, 14 goals
The first black player to pull on the green-and-yellow shirt. His lightning-quick pace is virtually unmatched in the Bettian league. Is equally at home in the centre or on either side of the pitch.

We don't do defence

Sarzonia Stars

Coach: Bryson Juergens
Assistant: Kerry Tanner

ROSTER (starting 11 in bold):

Goalkeepers
1 Marco Taglianetti (Saugerties Snakes): After leading the Stars during a previous AOCAF tournament, he's back to lead the team in its return to the tournament that brought the team into the world scene. He's now 30.
30 Tom Beneditto (Portland Timbers): After an up-and-down career with the Under 21 national team, Beneditto is looking for redemption. At just 22 years old, he's also looking for a spot on the senior national team.

Defenders
2 Jeff Comstock (Nicksia Knights): After the Knights' surprise run through the NSFA Cup, Comstock signed a free agent contract with them. He brings speed and grit to the team. At 23 years old, he also brings an infusion of youth to a veteran side.
4 Landra Tennison (Woodstock Justice, women's team): She earned a spot in the starting 11 on the Stars after an impressive tryout where she out-physicaled several men despite her 5 foot 6, 133 pound frame. At 27 years old, she'll stay in the starting 11 if she continues to play well.
5 Peter Salivani (Randolph Reavers): The older half-brother of Under 21 national team star Ettore, Peter took on his stepfather's last name after dealing with child abuse from his father Jordan Simmons. At 24 years old, Peter brings similar skills to the table.
8 Jeffrey Raven (unsigned): The older brother of Under 21 midfielder Jenna, Jeffrey only recently picked football back up after he quit the game four years ago. The 22 year old earned a spot in the starting 11 mostly on talent.
9 Kurt Laughton (Joe Gibbs University): Even though he's only 21 years old, he graduated from Joe Gibbs University at 19 following intense home schooling. Perhaps the smartest player on the pitch from a schooling perspective.
12 Mike Cole (Bristol Braves, minor league): Even though the Braves are listed as a minor league side, they will be promoted to the Sarzonian Football Confederation due to their dominant record and impressive attendance figures. Cole is also a rugby standout, having led the Sarzonia Galaxians to a surprise berth in the knockout rounds their first time out. At 23 years old, he gives Laughton a run for his money for brain power.

Midfielders
6 Larry Greig (Woodstock Wild): This 28 year old recent signee is one of the most rugged defencive midfielders in Sarzonia. Led the SFC with four red cards last season, so he needs to control his temper. Is in the best shape of his career.
7 Owen Manson (Tyrol Tigers): Signed with the Tigers after the team was promoted to the SFC. Is known as one of the most dangerous passers and free kick artists with an educated left boot. At 29 years old, he's been plying his trade in the toughest semipro league in Sarzonia.
11 Bill Lucifer (Bristol): Led Sarzonia's top minor league with 22 assists and looks to continue in his role as the playmaker with the team in its SFC debut season. He turned 24 last month.
13 Calvin Olson (New Jerusalem Nobles, semipro): As dangerous as Manson is with his left boot, Olson is just as deadly with his right boot. For a skillful midfielder, he's surprisingly phsyical. This 26 year old has been suspended due to yellow card point accumulation three times last season.
14 Steve Sanderson (Woodstock City College): After serving four years in the Incorporated Sarzonian Navy, this 27 year old went to school and played a couple of seasons for City College. His tenacity from serving in the military has led him to the team, along with his ability to play both defence and attack well.
16 Mark Davis (New Isselmere Dragons): Usually the first player off the bench for Juergens when Grieg starts getting heated, he could play defence in a dire pinch.

Forwards
10 Kevin Wilson (Joe Gibbs University): The younger son of senior team Coach Dave Wilson and the younger brother of team captain Brian, Kevin shares his brother's instincts on the pitch and may be even more of a heartthrob than his older brother. At 22 years old, may be a couple of years away from a permanent spot on either national team.
15 Roy Spencer (Under 21 national team): Still listed with the Under 21s in spite of his age-related ineligibility, this 22 year old is looking for a pro team to sign him in spite of his aggressive nose for the goal.
46 John Clinton (Braeden Bayonets): Clinton starred for the Under 21 national team after replacing scoring legend Kenny Cooper but a last place performance at his last tournament there left him with a bad taste in his mouth. Just turned 25.

Alfieri, a strict Central Defender, has a bit of a temper to overcome before seeing a regular starting role with the National Team, being sent off multiple times in the Vilitan League season, including an embarrassing dismissal against non-league Mliona-Lpaka that led to Marine Coast's early exit from the Vilitan Cup.

Mitaroka has indicated he may retire from the International scene after the World Cup Finals in Turori, to concentrate on coaching and regional competitions.

Having been knocked out after a dismal performance in the WC qualifying campaign, manager Randy Gamman is going to give it another shot with the same team that featured so disappointingly in the both the BOF Cup and the WC 22 campaign.

GOALKEEPERS:

Derrell Lynch (12 caps)
- Capteria GK, 28 years of age. Has been in good form in the Nedalia Premier League, but has been inconsistent thus far on the international stage. Was the starting goalkeeper for both the BOF and WC 22 Qualifying campaigns.

Jim Brown (1 cap):
- Rappor GK, 22 years of age. Started for the U21 WC 14 runner-ups Lions squad. Has earned 7 U21 caps.

Task Flagrant:
- Carlesa GK, 31 years of age. Problematic vs. set plays, but solid in every other aspect. Level-headed and professional.

DEFENDERS:

Huller (13 cap/0 goals):
- Momesta CD, 29 years of age. Strong tackler, known for his volatile behavior. Has been solid in both league and international tournament play.

Cole Zenith (13 caps/0 goals):
- Bronkstone CD, 30 years of age. The captain of the squad, and also the team's most consistent performer. Never seems to have a bad game. All-around terrific defender, his influence on the team is second to none.

Hans Lamm (7 caps/0 goals):
- Honsfield RD, 22 years of age. Very quick and agile, has replaced Stake as the starting leftback of the squad after strong performances in the WC 22 qualifying campaign. Has earned 7 U21 caps.

Joshua Vastu (10 caps/0 goals):
- Honsfield LD, 28 years of age. Never backs down, speed and fitness are his strengths. Solid tackler and good with headers.

Jorgem Ruff (3 caps/0 goals):
- Edensanne LD, 24 years of age. Solid all around, a little slow off the ball.

Stevenson (2 caps/0 goals):
- Brickell CD, 23 years of age. Very impressive player, is slated as the up and coming defender of the Lions.

Justin Stake (10 caps/0 goals):
- Bronkstone RD, 27 years of age. Speed, agility, pace. Lacks tackling skills, makes up for it with positioning. Has had a good season in the NPL, but has been marred by inconsistency at the international level.

MIDFIELDERS:

Nene (12 caps/3 goals):
- Shoreland LM, 19 years of age. The shining star of Nedalian football, is a wonder with the ball. Breaks defenses down as if it was a stroll in the park. Phenomenal offensive talent. 7 U21 caps/7 U21 goals.

Trent Hardman (11 cap/1 goals):
- Riveria
DM, 22 years of age. Straight forward, no nonsense type of player. Intimidating and tough. 7 U21 caps.

Kenneth (11 caps/1 goals):
- Rappor
AM, 26 years of age. Great passer, great finisher. Has speed to match his power.

Ali Fouad (10 caps/1 goals):
- Dorpar
RM, 26 years of age. Great goalscoring threat, also dishes out a fantastic cross. Great at set pieces.

Don Downing (9 caps/2 goals):
- Carlesa
LM, 22 years of age. An incredible talent, would surely be starting if not for Nene. Fast, strong, and a great ballhandler. Adequate at crossing.

Jim Samuel (3 caps):
- Woodston
DM, 32 years of age. The elder stateman of the team, very poised and controlled. Great passer, good tackler.

Innit Point (9 caps/1 goals):
- Internashionale (Starblaydia)
AM, 21 years of age. The first Nedalian player to make the move out of Nedalia. Incredible playmaker, sure to break into the first eleven before long. Was bought for $6,000,000. 7 U21 caps/2 goals.

Brian Gordon (6 caps/0 goals):
- Aanjar
RM, 19 years of age. Consistent and solid. The best crosser on the team, great at set pieces as well. 7 U21 caps/1 goals.

FORWARDS:

Mattan (11 caps/4 goals):
- Porasse
SC, 25 years of age. Ultimate goal poacher, finds ways to get them in seemingly out of nowhere. Very quick.

Chris Yamtech (9 caps/2 goals):
- Shoreland
SC, 27 years of age. Great shot, great heading ability. Very strong, has decent speed.

Tim James (7 caps/2 goals):
- Dorpar
SC, 18 years of age. Quickest player on the team, has the ballhandling skills to match. Consistently gets by 2 or more defenders. Sensational talent. 7 U21 caps/6 goals.

Karry (7 caps/0 goals):
- Bronkstone
SC, 20 years of age. The tallest player on the team, his heading ability is second to none. Has decent ability on the ground, very powerful shot. 7 U21 caps/4 goals.
