Krytenia Bug Starblaydia
First meeting in 8 years, Fourth Ever

Eighteen years ago, Starblaydia faced Krytenia in the Third-Placed Playoff of the 5th Under-21 World Cup. Ten years later the two nations were drawn in Group 1 of the Qualifiers for the 19th World Cup in Turori and The Belmore Family.

The record? Two Starblaydia wins and a victory for Krytenia, though one of the Starblaydia victories needed Extra Time. So, going on past results over ninety minutes, Starblaydia and Krytenia have fought out a win, a loss and a draw each. Brilliant. That's just the kind of non-obvious conclusion-drawing statistics that we love to see, isn't it? Well, the neutral probably does, but we're not neutral, of course.

In an interesting twist of fate, Fernando De Marco has been in both sqauds that have lined up to face Krytenia. First as a spotty thirteen year-old back when Starblaydia's youth team was more youthful than anyone else's. Now he's the captain and Fernando, along with Rigoberto, Vengelis Koentas, Jose Tirado and Stefanos Stantzos are all hoping to become the first two-time winners of the AOCAF in Starblaydi history.

Hawks face Crystilakere for third place in AOCAF VII
Bar fight, anyone?

In what will be a widely watched second match ever against Crstilakere, the Hawks will be playing for third place in AOCAF VII. Ask a Lamonian about their first thought about the Crystilakere football team, and you'll invariably hear, "Bar Fight." This comes from the bar fight in Vilita that happened the first time that these two teams met on the football field. While more bar fights aren't really expected, that won't stop overzealous fans from potentially starting their own.

This is quite a pleasant suprise for the Hawks, who have played in only four or five AOCAFs, and have made it to the knockouts every time. In the last AOCAF, Lamoni finally broke it's 'curse of the semis,' where they would lose in the semis every time. This time, Lamoni is going for third place in the tournament. Is a first place AOCAF finish in Lamoni's future? No one can say for sure, but we wouldn't bet against it.

As for their last match against Starblaydia, the Hawks lost 1-3. Matthew Bostock obtained Lamoni's only goal in the match, while Fidel Khaif of Starblaydia got all three of their goals.

Is another win against Crystilakere in Lamoni's future? Only the upcoming match will tell.

"That was for Tournetas"
Left-Back dedicates Hat-Trick To Relegated Team

"Its been a tough year for us," said Khaif, 27, "obviously we were dumped out of Liga Starblaydia after an atrocious season, so this was special for me on a personal level."

The 'Sultan of Side-Backs', the catchiest nickname that the Tournetas fans could come up with, scored an incredible hat-trick in the Semi-Final against Lamoni that will go down as the best first, second and third goals a man can ever score for his country. Fidel has never scored for his country before - ever - so to bag a hat-trick actually had him in tears at the end of the match.

He kissed his ring, waved to his wife and child in the stands and received the adulation of every Starblaydi and even a few neutrals in South Osettia. This one performance has lifted him to joint-top scorer with Kurt Recinos, both men on three goals for the tournament.

Some would also say that Khaif's performance is purely down to wanting to put himself in the shop window on an international stage, now his club has been demoted to the mostly-amateur Liga Omega, who's matches don't even get broadcasted outside of Starblaydia and Nova Britannicus.

Campeone! Campeone! Ole Ole Ole!
Starblaydia surge to Second AOCAF Title

"...de Montford to the byline, into the box, cross! Must be! Recinos scores and Starblaydi take the lead in the AOCAF Final! A simple tap-in after great work by Nelson de Montford down the right-hand side...

"...its Rimmer, he's way out... hits a screamer! Oh fantastic save by De Marco! He just got his fingertips to it to tip it over, great save...

"...and here comes Hurin Menegroth, he's got players left and right, Starblaydia on another lightning-fast break. Menegroth, teed up for Ogunniya... Goal! It's two! Starblaydia have surely won it now!

"...that;s it! Starblaydia are AOCAF Champions again! Fernando De Marco lifts the trophy as the white-and-purple are crowned Kings of the Region once more!"

(OOC: Waaay too much RPing alrady, so just a short one for the Final)

Lamoni takes 3rd!

All Lamoni was watching the third place match against Crystilakere, and when the match was over and Lamoni had won, there was pandemonium in the streets. While not the AOCAF cup, this is the highest that Lamoni has finished in AOCAF to date. It was a 1-1 tie through most of the game until a Jason Pier goal late into the match secured the win for the Hawks. There were no reported bar fights.

Lamoni - 2 Matthew Bostock (55), Jason Pier (80)
Crystilakere - 1 (20)

OOC: I should not RP more often.

SECOND FOR CALEYS

After many years, after giving something huge to the region, Krytenia ALMOST got it back.

Then got tanked by the Starblaydis.

Bugger.
