Consider a provocative statement, such as the following:

Dictators have a small weener

Now decide what rates higher...

Free speech or decency

Posted by: Abattoir Mar 18 2005, 08:02 AM
Considering it speaks out against my form of government, and is a vulgar insult...our President would censor it.

That's why I wrote

So, just think of something that isn't related to your SS-Regime ;-)

Yeah, in the nationstates issue on free speech we allow it. So we would allow it, just not if it was being spoken out against our government. Capital punishment for such.

Fun though wink.gif

In Legalese, it'd be perfectly acceptable to say it, if it were true. However, said dictator may sue for damages regarding slander. Otherwise, I'm not touching that one.

In our country, it would be allowed, but it would be at the risk of the President going on live television and saying:

"Well, so have you, so phhp"

Note: 'phhp' implies protruding tongue and making loud rasping noise.

It's perfectly legal to say that in Lamoni, as long as it isn't slander.

Posted by: Bedistan Mar 18 2005, 06:04 PM
No problems with that statement in Bedistan. In Pedriana, however, that would be an entirely different matter. Expect a personal visit from Emperor Pedro IV's army of Giant Evil Spiders.

The Nojikan government punishes citizens that speak out against the Emperor and the government.

However, the government has a loose rule of it's citizens and allow many things to go un-noticed that, in other countries, would be punishable to a high degree. That's not to say that the Nojikan government has no control of it's citizens but that Nojikan civilians have many freedoms and live their own lives.

I think free speech is best because you get some good ideas out from it.
