Map updated 2006–12–09:
  • Added Demot [DEM].
  • Added Footballia [FTB].
  • Added Tocapa [TOC].
  • Added Yihsrael [YIH].
  • Did not add Delesa due to lack of specified location (I tried to pick a location, but the islands are too rectangular to blend in well anywhere).
  • Did not add Divensi due to lack of unique flag.
  • Did not add Germanen and Co due to lack of unique flag.
  • Did not add The Mushroom Kingship due to lack of unique flag.
  • Removed Carrar.
  • Removed Chicanada.
  • Removed Communist Heights.
  • Removed Hiiraan.
  • Removed Imminent Implosion.
  • Removed Izistan.
  • Removed The Mice of Miceland.
  • Removed My Patio.
  • Removed Neu Amerika.
  • Removed Quirrith.
  • Removed United Meridian.
  • Removed Winchestia.
  • Changed Az-cz’s code to A-C and Chacor’s to CHC.
  • Redrew the map so that I might have a chance to update it some time.
(USSNA should also be removed from the legend, since it was previously removed from the map.)

This sounds like a dumb question I'm sure, but I'm trying to get a better sense of what's happened around here by reading previous threads, the archives, and some of the entries on NSwiki, but one thing I keep wondering is what is the scale of the regional map? How many miles (or km) per 10 pixels or whatever?

The Simple answer is that Scales are upto Individual Nations... It has been commented in fact that it can be shorter going "the long way" to some destination then going "the direct line"

but yeah... no officially defined regional map scale

and that goes for many other things as well, such as time. There are a few things that are set (AOCAF rankings) for example, but most things are pretty danged flexible.

Thanks, and I think I figured out what you mean by time, Ac-Cz, since I read about AOTC and not everyone liked it or wanted to use it, and looking at some of the AOCAF rosters and some teams get 4 years older every year, some don't, some... ??? And, on the same token, the amount of time between 12-11-06 and 12-12-06 IRL is different than 12-12-06 and 12-13-06 IRL.

So it sounds like this region is based on string theory - time and space are an illusion (or, at least that's what I read about it); and if someone RPs an event/distance/etc., than it becomes valid unless deemed invalid.

This is all good to know, since I was getting ready to do an RP for a place on the map.

I'm sure those words by themselves make some sense - even maybe when grouped in small phrases. But as for an actual paragraph or two?

Not a clue what you're on about.

Basically while reading up on things like the AOTC he noticed that....

Not everyone uses AOTC
People Age differently in AOCAF rosters (ie one teams players Age 4 years while others don't)
That IC time that had passed between 11th and 12 of dec where differnt to the IC time that had passed between the 12 and 13th of Dec.

In the 2nd paragraph he was saying that time and space is very flexible in AO and as long as it's not accepted due to various circumstances then it's what it is.
