OOC - Problem. It was completely uncool to post the second day's scores just 13 hours after posting the first day's scores. That timeframe does not allow people to get in and make their RPs for the one before another is already done and waiting. Completely inconsiderate. Only 4 of 9 participants had a chance to RP. D&S, Bazalonia, Nedalia, Khazaron, and Iksonic did not have a chance to get their RP (and its bonus) before the next scores were up. D&S and Bazalonia always RP everything, and Khazaron RPd alot during AOBC I. Keep an eye on that sort of thing, please. Be fair with the time you post being consistent.

Hoop Dragons Off To Flying Start
ASMV picked up just where they had been during AOBC I by scoring 104 points in their first game of AOBC II. It was a very good sign for a team with its sights set on a return to the finals and a chance to avenge that loss to Lamoni.
Things started off slowly for the Hoop Dragons as The Mystics took a 23-17 1st quarter lead. And the D&S theory of "Size Matters" proved itself again as the lead was pushe to 9 points by the half.
The halftime rant by coach Donovan Arturo must have been a good one for the Hoop Dragons came out on fire as Garrigus and Ayudan combined for 27 points in the quarter and ASMV found a 1 point lead at the end of 3.
The 4th quarter saw a tired Mystic team fall apart. Garrigus and Ayudan continued hitting shots and Alvaro Nouri actually came to life as ASMV ran away to an 11 point victory.
"We played decent." said Arturo following the game. "We didnt show up to play and D&S took advantage of that early. We have to play better than this if we want to win this thing."
Nolan Garrigus led ASMV with 31 points while Ayudan scored 29. Nouri added 19 of his own along with 6 blocks in the game. Fidel Casano led the team with 13 assists and Robby Malla had a bad day as he collected just 15 boards, down 6 from his average.
Next up is a date with the Lancers of Geisenfried. They looked impressive in their first game against D&S, but had better bring their dancing shoes if they want to play Cinderella. Their star, Ulric will need a huge night or its going to be a long one for them. 41 might not do it this time.
Geisenfried would prefer a lower scoring game. Only Lamoni has ever done that to us, and I dont see Hugh Humber on the Lancer roster.

I'm your Host Denis Rainy and I can tell you that even if it was raining it is shining for the Dribbling Bazalopes tonight. Why you ask? Well let's go to the highlights of their first game against Khazaron."

"The game was dominated early in the first half as Khazaron showed their experience scoring 17 unanswered points, 1 of those was the result of a foul being drawn by the Khazaron attack against Hobbs in the 2nd minute of play. However the Bazalopes turned this around and managed to claw back some points. The score at the end of the first quarter was Khazaron 23 - Bazalonia 12. Still plenty of goals to pick up but the momentum had started to shift."

"In fact the Bazalopes dominated the 2nd quarter and had surpassed the Khazaron score and was in the lead for the first time in the game, but only slightly. Halftime score Khazaron 37, Bazalopes 39. But this was short lived as the Khazaron team kicked into overdrive."

"The Khazonians took back the lead but the Bazalopes still where not far behind. At the end of the 3rd quarter it was Khazaron 63 Bazalonia 54. The Khazonians started to increase the lead blowing out the difference to 19, until a freak 3-pointer from Daniel Death revitalised the team. And from then on the Dribbling Bazalopes where unstoppable."

"And with this amazing finish the Dribbling Bazalopes ended in the game 9 points ahead Khazaron 74 - Bazalonia 83. The first win of their AORBC campaign in their first match. Their next opponent will be Nedalia which our opponents beat by 5 points. Thus if my mathematics is correct then a 14 goal win should e expected but as you know Basketball is not like that. Though I have yet to comment on the team uniform, there was none until just hours before the game and the team was unsure what they where to wear. If they didn't have a uniform soon then they would have to forfeit but thanks to Sabre Inc. of Dorian and Sonya the uniforms where made and delivered to the team just in the nick of Time. Lamoni signs uniform deal with D&S' Sabre Inc.

Impressed with the look and quality of the concepts put out by the Dorian & Sonya company Sabre Inc., the Lamonian AORBC team has contracted them to create their concept. The Hawks will be sporting the new uniform during their match with Myrtannia; and while the financial details of the deal have not yet been released, it is known that they had a choice between two possible uniforms. It is unknown as yet who created the other uniform choice for Lamoni, but rumor says that the company in question is based in Myrtannia.
To summarize, Lamoni's AORBC squad has new duds from Sabre Inc., and now they'll look good while dominating everyone else in the tournament. |

Suns Thrash Ik, Fall to Hawks; Dryads Set to Defend Title
SKALATUR, Fergot - Myrtannia's AORBC II experience has shown already that the Suns need to improve their consistency if they hope to improve on their fourth place finish in AORBC I. Their opening night debuted a good Suns squad, wearing new uniforms designed by MH Inc. of Scandon Island. Of course, the Suns were facing an untested, inexperienced Iksonic team, so it wasn't much of a contest after the first five minutes.
After falling to defending champion Lamoni 96-77 on opening day, Iksonic battled hard in the first five minutes of the game against the Suns, taking a 17-13 lead at one point. That was to be their biggest lead, as Myrtannia came back to tie, and then take the lead for good. As the Suns dominated the floor, Rahir Abdul returned to his AORBC I form, lighting up the scoreboard from inside, outside, and all over. He would finish with 42 points, 12 assists, and 5 steals.
The other big story in the Iksonic match was 7'6" Vito Munise, who played well through three quarters of play. In his time on the floor, Vito ruled the paint - grabbing a monstrous 15 boards, scoring 25 points, and blocking 11 shots (a Myrtannia national team record). He left the game after the third complaining of pain in his ankle and did not return. By then, it was Myrtannia up 82-64, and the game's result wasn't in doubt. Led by 16 fourth quarter points from Abdul, the Suns stormed to a 101-80 blowout over Iksonic.
Day Three had something different in mind for the Suns. Going up against Lamoni and their superstar center Hugh Humber, the Suns didn't have the man they'd hoped would be the answer to the dominating Hawk. Vito Munise dressed in street clothes for the game, a decision made by coach Al-Hakim at game time.
"He was hurting a bit too much during the shoot-around. Vito wanted to go out there, but I told him he had to rest his ankle one more night. We still have two games and possibly the knockouts left," Al-Hakim explained after the game.
Not having 'Vito-Power' as fans have taken to writing on signs ended up spelling the Suns' doom against the solid Hawks. Myrtannia made a game of it after slouching in the first half, but Lamoni was able to stay ahead the whole way. The Suns never led, and tied the game twice during their offensive spurts. Rahir Abdul continued his strong play, dropping 39 on the defensive-minded Hawks, but he couldn't make up for the difference in talent at the center position.
In Munise's place was backup Ghraham Ryall, who succeeded in scoring 6 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, and fouling out midway through the third quarter. His replacement, PF Randolph Tulberg, tried but failed to keep up with the unstoppable looking Humber. When the dust cleared, Lamoni took a 102-95 win and sole posession of first place in Group B. Vito Munise is expected to practice with the team on Day 4, and be ready for action again on Day 5.
Meanwhile, the defending women's champion Myrtannia Dryads are set for action as the Women's division of the AORBC opens up on Day Four. After solid practices, the Dryads are hoping to prove their title win last time wasn't a fluke. Up first is Gesienfried, whose men's team shocked ASMV on Day Three and is at this writing undefeated.
"The Lady Lancers might surprise some people - they've got the size to compete with anyone in the tournament, so we've got to watch ourselves. We've got experience, but Geisenfried has proven that that doesn't neccessarily mean anything on the court," said Tully Stiles, the Drayds' starting PG. |

Hoop Dragons Drop Shocker To Who?
ASMV came into AOBC II with its eyes on one goal - A Championship. A 105-93 loss to Geisenfried today has reminded the team that every game must be played in order to get there.
The Hoop Dragons started slow again, but this time never got things going. It didnt help matters that Garrigus and Ayudan were put in early foul trouble with questionable calls, and Robby Malla had a massive sunburn due to a day "relaxing on the river".
Following the defeat, the team was sent back onto the court for a six hour practice that left everyone on the team looking for oxygen bottles. Do not expect the lack of effort in this one to repeat itself again.
Leading the way for ASMV was Center Alvaro Nouri who put up an impressive 63 points in a literal one man show.
Coach Donavan Arturo had this to say following the game: "There is absolutely no excuse for us handing the Lancers a win, regardless of the situation. This was pitiful at its very best. These guys will get their heads out of their hind parts or my foot will be joing them there for good. No further comments. Get the hell out of my way. We have a practice to run."
The Lady Dragons will begin action tomorrow against a very large and powerful D&S Lady Mystics team. We have no hope of matching up with them inside, so the plan is to run. and then run. And after that, guess what. Run some more. Hopefully the plan will work. |

Mystics Ready for Revenge - Lady Mystics Set to begin Play
0-2 in the first two games has left the Mystics in a hole they will have a hard time climbing out of. The first step in doing that will be to wreak revenge on a Lancer team that beat us by ten on opening day.
The Mystics do have one thing going for them though. Balance. 7 players are averaging double digits thus far, meaning that there is no weakness in the offense if the defense can manage to hold the opponents under the century mark. Look for D&S to use that balance as they try to keep the Lancer defence guessing.
The Lady Mystics are ready to begin play in their opening match against an under-sized team from ASMV. Size and power says it all for the Lady Mystics and they will be looking to slow the lady Dragons down to a half-court style of play where the size of D&S will overpower the smaller women they will face. If ASMV can get into the open court, it could spell trouble for our team as that is not the way they are built to play.
In other news, Sabre Inc has announced new deals with Lamoni and Bazalonia. The concept uniforms were welcomed and accepted by both teams. The Lamoni deal is a major step for Sabre Inc as they look to expand into foreign markets for all sporting attire. Two kits have actually been contracted by Bazalonia, although their market is signifigantly less impacting than that of Lamoni. The uniforms for the AOBC II as well as a special kit for the memorial friendly match to be played between Bazalonia and ASMV have been commisioned. The financial details of each deal were not released, but they do make big noise for Sabre Inc. Thanks for the support of our products. |

Lancers Slay Hoop Dragons, 105-93
Geisenfried Shocks #2 ASMV, Even Without Top Center Adabold
NINIISTO, MYRTANNIA- When they first came to Myrtannia, the Geisenfried Lancers were expecting a championship. Though it seemed unlikely at first, the Lancers have made, and are continuing to make a strong case for themselves, as they are undefeated halfway through the divisional round. Yesterday, they stepped closer to an AORBC II championship while setting back the #2 team in the region, the Andossa Se Mitrin Vega Hoop Dragons, winning 105-93.
The team's top center, Luther Adabold, however, could not share in his teammates' victory, having come back home to visit his ailing father, who recently suffered a heart attack. He was sorely missed, as the backup center Henrik Drakwald struggled to contain the Hoop Dragon center Alvaro Nouri, who led ASMV in scoring, landing a whopping 63 points, two thirds of his entire team's total score. Luckily for the Lancers, Adabold plans to be back for their next game against the Dorian & Sonya Mystics, who were defeated by the Lancers 101-91 a couple days ago.
Small forward Johann Ulric continued to lead the offensive effort for the Lancers, sinking a huge percentage of his shots to get 50 points on the Hoop Dragons. Shooting guard Bernhard Ostermark also did remarkably well, scoring 39 points for the Lancers. Power forward Andrew Sigmar scored 8 points, while point guard Roger Altdorf scored 6. Center Henrik Drakwald, the sub for Adabold, scored only 2 points. The bench had limited playing time, and scored no points for the victorious Lancers.
After the game, head coach Adrian Kislev commented, "This is great for us. The Hoop Dragons can make all the excuses they want, but tonight, we were definitely the better team." Seeing his coach being interviewed and hearing his comment, forward Andrew Sigmar came in and interjected, "And we'll prove we're the better team the next time we play them too." After this statement, Kislev said to Sigmar, "Remember, though self-confidence has never hurt anyone, inflated egos have. Don't you forget we still have to play the Mystics and don't let them do to us what we did to the Hoop Dragons, and get caught looking ahead too far. One game at a time, Andrew." The forward gave a nod and left.
The Lancers' next game is against the Dorian & Sonya Mystics, as previously stated. Though they are noted for their remarkably well balanced offense, if they fail to find an answer for Johann Ulric, the Lancers' star small forward, it may not matter. The Lady Lancers, meanwhile, are preparing for their first game, against the hometown team and regional champion Myrtannia Dryads.

KNN Sports Coverage of AORBC II
The Silver Sharks are back at it again in this, the second Atlantian Oceania Regional Basketball Championship. Concerns where high going into the first game against the Nedalia Lions. The Sharks new head coach Kenny Laris, who has replaced the now retired Tristan Ulvec, stated that their plan from the beginning had been to play conservatively in the first few minutes of the game. "What got us those previous two losses against them in the last tournament was our reckless agression against their seasoned players. Most of our guys hadn't had nearly as much experience and therefore where trounced. This time we wanted to feel them out and get to know their game-plan." said Laris.
Unfortunately for the Sharks, the new plan seemed to do little against the Lions as at half-time, the Lions had 61 and the Sharks had 53. For the first minute of the third quarter, Sharks guards Theodore Avraham and Brant Talin seemed to be sticking to the same as usual defensive plan, waiting for the Lions to slip up. While working better than last time, it was clear that their defensive posture would get them nowhere, since the Lions where already ahead. Coach Laris called a time-out three and a half minutes into the third. "I basically told Teddy and Brant to keep up what they where doing while calling Armel and Paul to push forward with Kwame and give the Lions defense a run for there money." replied Laris.
It seemed to come together beautifuly as the Lions where caught off guard by the sudeen offensive in the previously sluggish Sharks. By the end of the third quarter, the score was Lions 75, Sharks 77. Things seemed to get desperate with the Lions as Kwame Munroe managed to score three 3-point shots in rapid succession, raising the score to 86, with the Lions trailing by 11 points only 1 minute into the fourth quarter. With tensions getting high between both teams, a scuffle was bound to occur. Forward Paul Nusik was taken out of the game after multiple fouls agains the opposing team. Despite that however the Sharks managed to score one more 3-pointer and a free-throw to secure their win of the game.
"Emotions where definately high after that game." said Laris. "We had slain one of our unconquerable giants fromt he last tournament. We got too relaxed and were expecting of having an easy time taking on the Bazalopes the next day. However they proved us wrong as they were just as strong as any team we've faced off against to date."
When he was questioned what the Sharks would be doing with their off time from the tournament, Coach Laris replied with a laugh. "Drills, drills and more drills. If we're not sleeping, we are drilling or playing." Next up the Silver Sharks are due to face off against the Bazalopes again. The outcome seems to be uncertaint to the fans, as both appear evenly matched so far. "The one benefit to having lost to the Bazalopes the first time around is we can look and see what we did wrong and correct that. Meanwhile looking at where their plays had holes in them and exploiting those next time around." said Assitant Coach Anderson Amari.
The Silver Sharks and Bazalopes face off again tonight at 11p.m. at the Ah-Harim Memorial Collessium in Damscos. |

Hawks go 2-0
In this high scoring game against hosts Myrtannia, the Hawks made a strong case for defending their AORBC I championship. At no point in the contest did Lamoni allow Myrtannia to lead; but there was two times when the score was tied. Myrtannia's "answer" for C Hugh Humber was injured; which resulted in Hugh having another tremendous game. This guy is so good, we wonder why they bothered to send the rest of the team! Okay, so he might not be able to take on an entire team by himself, but he's the best basketball player that this region has yet seen. The best part of the deal is that he is young, so Lamonian fans should have a long term relationship with their superstar.
The Hawks were also very happy with the uniforms which were made by Sabre Inc.; a Dorian & Sonya company. The certain rush of Lamonian consumers to buy replicas of the new Lamonian AORBC uniforms should bring in a vast influx of capital to the company, and might well start a long term contract for Lamonian sporting apparel. We have heard a rumor that the Lamonian government will soon be requesting an embassy exchange with Dorian & Sonya.
The Hawks face Iksonic next, and while the Hawks are not expecting the game to be easy, they also think that they stand a very good chance of winning. After that match, the Hawks have another day off, followed by a rematch with hosts Myrtannia. Maybe the Myrtannian C will be healthy by then? It would be exciting to pit Humber against Vito Munise.

Mystical Day in the AOBC
Both D&S teams won today! A great day for the Kingdom.
In the men's matchup, the Mystics avenged an opening day loss by handing the Lancers a 102-97 defeat, ruining both the chance for Geisenfried to go undefeated and D&S to keep on track for a winless campaign.
Balance was again the key as the Mystics had by far their best offensive showing of AOBC II. Hunter Pomainville led the team with 17 and 12 boards while Trenton Reents dropped 16 points while dishing out 12 assists. 5 other players scored in double figures for a completely balanced attack. Cleo Enzor (14 points, 7 assists),
Silas Drugan (13 points, 9 boards, 4 blocks), Carlo Stauss (12 points, 6 steals), Kirby Capata (11 points, 2 steals, 4 assists), and Kurtis Cullar (10 points, 15 boards, 3 assists, 3 blocks) all showed why D&S is such a dangerous foe on the court. Not many teams in the world can bost that kind of balance. Harris "Sinister" Glenister also added 9 points in his first action of the tourney. There are big expectations for this 16 year old phenom.
Next up for the men's team is a rematch with the mighty Hoop Dragons. The balance our team shows should pose major problems for ASMV, who relies on 3 primary offensive threats, especially now that the "team first" philosophy has proved itself. But ASMV is coming off a bye and a big loss to the Lancers and will be looking to prove a point- starting with us.
In women's action, the Lady Mystics beat the Lady Dragons of ASMV (also a point that will not sit well with them) 82-80. As promised, ASMV looked to run the floor with every chance they got. And it almost worked - but not quite.
The Lady Mystics fell behind early as ASMV was hot from the start. A 23-11 first quarter score did nothing to diminish the spirits of the D&S team, however and by halftime the lead had benn cut to just 8. Then the big girls for D&S went to work. And as the game slowed down, predictions of D&S dominance in the half-court came true as ASMV fell apart trying to handle the whole "Size does matter" issue.
Genevie Servatius led D&S with 19 points while massive Ngan Delosa scored 17 while collecting 16 boards and hammering out 11 blocks on shorter Lady Dragons that insisted on trying to challenge her inside. The D&S rotation of 6 players 6'4 and taller proved to be the difference as ASMV was reduced to jacking up 3s for much of the game, with little success.

Lady Dragons Follow Men's Example - And Lose
The plan was to run, and run some more. That plan worked to perfection in the first half of the game with D&S. The from the first half was for 90+ points. And then ASMV ran in the second half - right into a brick wall named Ngan Delosa.
The 6'8 center for the Lady Mystics dominated the play in the second half, sending shot after shot screaming for the stands. ASMV had to settle for perimeter shots that simply refused to fall. The final result - D&S left the court with a well-earned 82-80 win.
Next up for the Lady Dragons is a rematch of the AOBC I's only women's game (which we lost too). The Dryads of Myrtannia who defeated the Lady Lancers earlier today. 0-2 for the Lady Dragons in regional play. Not a good sign when you are playing a team that is 2-0 in such games - esp if they have already beaten you before.
The Hoop Dragons will take on the Mystics of D&S who they beat by 11 points in their first meeting. But since then things have dramatically changed. ASMV shockingly lost to the Lancers by 12 points as Alvaro Nouri exploded for 63 worthless points. The came the most impressive performance of the AOBC thus far. D&S put 7 players in double figures (an 8th had 9 points). Anytime you see that kind of diversity in an offense, it makes you very nervous about having to play them. |

The letters K...S...B appear on the screen, underneath which are, in a much smaller font size, the words Khazaronian Sports Broadcasting. The logo quickly fades away to a clip from last nights game between the Bazalopes and the Silver Sharks. The score is dead even, Bazalopes 100, Sharks 100, with only 30 seconds left in the game. Head Coach Laris of the Sharks had just used the teams last time-out to try and plan a final offensive. It is evident from the looks on the faces of both teams that neither of them want this to go into overtime.
The buzzer rings and timeout is over, both teams filing back onto the court, tension becoming so thick that one could cut it with a knife. The ball is tossed and Kwame Munroe manages to catch it, running down the court like lightening. At twenty seconds left, the ball is swiped from Kwame by Daniel Death, who quickly shoots across the court. An attempt is made by Armel Hasam to take back control for his team, but he quickly falls to the ground in the attempt.
Death is surrounded on all sides by the Sharks, even as he makes it to the goal. He looks to his teammate Kevin Hobbs and passes the ball to him, only to be caught in mid-air by Brant Talin. There are now only 12 seconds left on the clock, Talin dribbles down to mid-court, 6 seconds left, looks around and passes the ball to Kwame Munroe. He looks as if he is going to attempt a 3-pointer, only to pushed to the floor by one of the Bazalopes. A foul is called and the teams line up.
With only 4 seconds left on the clock, Kwame steadies his gaze on the hoop, shouts of encouragement and derision echoing from the crowd. Then, as if on cue, everything goes quiet as he shoots, the ball seeming to hang in the air for a minute or more, then finally hitting its mark, nothin' but net. Silver Shark fans erupt in jubilation as the game resumes. Both Theodore and Brant manage to hold up the Bazalopes long enough for the clock to run down and secure a Sharks victory. The video clip stops, cutting to the image of a brown-haired, balding reporter standing on a basketball court in a grey business outfit.
"That was the scene last night here at Ah-Harim Memorial Collessium, where the Sharks managed to grab a stunning last-second victory from the Bazalopes, giving the team its first defeat in this tournament. Many fans have credited this stunning victory to the excellent skills of star-player Kwame Munroe from Rhianom."
The camera pans right next to the reporter, showing the seven foot two player standing there with a huge smile on his face.
"So tell us Kwame" the reporter says. "What were the thoughts going through your head as you were about to make that free-throw shot?"
Kwame leans down towards the microphone placed in front of him by the reporter. "Well..." he says in a thick accent. "...I was doing my best to drown out the distractions and focus on the task at hand. When you get to be a professional, you've got to learn to let the other stuff go and think of your team. I knew my team needed me to score for the win, and so I used that feeling as my fuel."
The camera cuts back to the reporter, who is nodding. "I understand some of the fans have come to calling you the Tower of Power now, due to your astounding offensive abilities and uncanny knack to nail several 3-pointers in succession. That even overshadows your predecessor Shay Farley." He places the microphone back in front of Kwame, who is still smiling and now laughing a bit.
"Yeah, I must admit I like the nickname. It has a very catchy feel to it. But to be honest with everyone, I wouldn't be anywhere without my teammates. They're the ones who pave the way for me to takes the shots."
"One final question Kwame. What are your feelings going up against the Lions again tonight?"
"I've got to admit that I am more concerned now than I was before when we faced off against them. So far the Lions haven't won a game, but to be honest I think that makes the even more dangerous. From what I hear they are really aching for a win and that is going to light a powerful fire underneath them tonight. We'll have to give it our all and then-some if we hope to avoid another nail-biter like we had with the Bazalopes."
The camera cuts back to the reporter again, who smiles, shakes hands with Kwame and then turns to face the camera.
"Well I'm sure it will be a sight to see, no matter the outcome. Be sure to tune in tonight at 11p.m. to see the Silver Sharks go head-to-head against the Lions once more. Will they be victorious again? or will the Nedalians finally secure a win? Find out tonight. Reporting for KSB, this is Stan Ulvin." |
