Okay Guys, I'm going to try something a little different this time. It's going to be the Atlantian Oceania Open Wheel Championships and I want to run them through http://batracer.com/-1FrontPage.htm?1Md. To sign up this is what you have to do. (These are step by step - simple instructions - they look long but its really not)

1) Go to the http://batracer.com/-1FrontPage.htm?1Md Website
2) Register, if you've not yet done so
3) Login
4) Choose Game -> Private Games
5) Enter Game Id: 6476
6) Scroll Down and Create a New Team - Do Not Join an existing team!
7) Choose your Personal preference of Real Life Car, Engine, Tyre and Home Track
8) Choose a Flag that most closely resembles the flag of your nation in NS
9) Select your preferred personal charatceristic

Then, this is the semi-important part!

1) For player name, type the name of the In-Character driver of your Racing Team!
(It may suggest you use your Real Name - Don't (unless you want to) - Just use an In Character driver for your team)
2) For Team Name, Enter your nation name, and just your nation name (Not including your Title!)

IE: "Bedistan" or "Khazaron"

The password to enter this game at the bottom of the page is "aoowc"

--------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------

That's it, once you've done that you're in. And believe me, it's a 45 second process, I just didn't want to leave any screen during the signup process untouched.

I think this will be a fun way to hold the competition, and hopefully it will promote more quality RPing as opposed to cookie cutter RPing due to the fact that the results are generated as a result of your own input and not a modifier due to your RP.

The way the thing works is, you log in to the Batracer database each day (if you'd like) and set up your race car. It's a 3-5 minute process on a daily basis if you want to get the optimum setup, but the actual race sessions only take place every other day, with Qualifying on the offdays.

You can also upload customized paint schemes for the race car to show during the race events. I will post the results here daily if requested for those who may not want to set the car up daily - but the users who do log in to set up the car are obviously going to do a little better.

-------------------

Due to a limited number of Garage Spaces at the racing facilities, the current Atlantian Oceania Motorsports Championships : Open Wheel Championships will be limited to 16 Nations. In light of the restriction of Nations in the field, the AOMC has decided that the top 10 Nations in the final standings will be guaranteed a position in AOMC II. Should one of the nations that finish in the top 10 in the Open Wheel Championships not be able to field an entry for AOMC II, then the position will be offered to the 11th placed team in the AOOWC standings, and so on down the line. Otherwise, Nations such as Hypocria who were unable to compete in the AOOWC I will get priority for the the remaining six space in AOMC II, with any remaining places being awarded to interested nations based on placement.

Iobabao to pilot Vilita & Turori Entry

The Vilita & Turori Open Wheel Racing Team announced today that Jericei Iobabao has been named the driver of the Vilita & Turori entry into the newly formed Atlantian Oceania Open Wheel Championship. Iobabao, a relative of former Turorian National Football/Soccer player Kaboafo Iobabao, has recently been excelling on the local circuits throughout the Vilitan Cove Open Tour, and while many will feel that perhaps a Vilitan based competitor would have been a better choice, The VTOWR will be standing by their decision to select Iobabao for the inaguaral AOOWC.

In addition to his obivous driving skill, Iobabao is also very adept at working with the crew chief to properly set up the vehicle for the Qualifying and Race Sessions. The team will begin testing for the opening race today.

Falcania opens sporting arms to region once more

Having sampled the chalice of football and found it not to her taste, Falcania is once again to participate regionally, this time in motor racing. Julian S. Marquis, reknowned serial car thief and mechanic, has agreed to represent the nation in the championship. How he fares against the likes of Patrice Belair, Julius Trafanor, and track favourite Jericei Iobabao, remains to be seen.

Engine failure tragedy, poor start for Marquis
Falcanian racing driver Julius Marquis suffered a humiliating last place in practice today. The Jay Industries engine burst into flames on his second practice lap, leaving his first and only practice lap an embarrassing +7.983 seconds after the leader. Ben Johnson, test driver for the team, said later "Julian's an aggressive driver and the car simply wasn't up to scratch. We're hoping to get through the qualifying slightly gentler."

Beauracratic Mistake makes Milchama Hetz va Keshet

In a bad beaucratic mess up the Warrior Peoples of Milchama will be represented as Hetz va Keshet. The most successful (and famous and only) carracing squad in Milchama was going to represent them anyway. However, what was not expected was that the name of the Milchama was going to be Hetz va Keshet. The leader of Hetz va Keshet explained the error this way, "We heard that there was going to be a AO racing championship and we decided to join, obviously. Then the government told us to name the team and we named it Hetz va Keshet. Only after we had already submitted the entry and verified everything did they come and say, 'call it Milchama' So we're stuck with Hetz va Keshet."

This mess up has led to confusion among the other teams but the authorities are trying to notify everybody who Hetz va Keshet is An anynomous person said, "Don't Worry they'll all know soon."

OOC: Hetz Va Keshet is Milchama. I didn't read all the instructions and that's what I got.

OOC: Stupid thing the Az-cz team's racers name is Rk-Mrs, not Rk Mrs as it stupidly says. So adjust accordingly.

IC:

Rk-Mrs announces his entry into the AOOWC. Although racing has no popularity in Az-cz he is a bit of a rebel and having done some travelling in his youth has gotten hooked. Although he isn't a top end racer he is a consistent steady racer who rarely gets in trouble on the track. He is looking forward to battling his fellow AO racers.

Cameron Sorley to Pilot Open Wheel Car

Today Quakmybush Racing announced that driver Cameron Sorley will take the helm for this season of the AOOWC. The all black paint scheme was also revieled. Sorley will be taking on dirvers from all of AO. "This should be a good season" Sorley said. "I have high hopes for maybe a win." he finished. The racing will get underway as soon as enough competitors are found.

Gunther Schwarz Takes The Wheel for AOOWC

And for the umpteenth time, Atlantian Oceania is opening up for the start of another region-wide sporting championship. This time, we'll watch as different teams from different nations race head to head on the track. For Geisenfried, the runner will be a Mr. Gunther Schwarz.

However, Schwarz's first run met a fate similar to the Falcanian competitor Marquis. On the third lap of testing, a tire blew during a turn and sent Schwarz careening into a wall, leaving his qualifying time at around +5 seconds from the leader from Vilita and Turori, making Marquis the only person Schwarz is in front of. The team has stated that the car is expected to be fully repaired for the first race, but a lack of practice time may cause the team to suffer.

(OOC: Since I can't edit...)

Schwarz practice gets back on track

It appears that after some quick fixes, Geisenfried driver Gunther Schwarz managed to get in a later session after problems with his first couple of sessions. With this new set of practice runs, Schwarz shaved a couple seconds off of his time, but is still a bit far back, with most of the other competitors within a second of the leader Iobabao from Vilita/Turori.

Sorley sets third best time for now

Cameron Sorley has been practicing for the Surfer's Paradise Race he has set a time of 1:36:3053, and currently sits on third place. There are still more cars that have to take their laps but hopefully he will stay in the top 5.

Iobabao fast out of the blocks

Vilita & Turori Open Wheel Racing Team driver Jericei Iobabao has sent a message to his Atlantian Oceania counterparts after his practice laps in preparation for the opening race of the season at the Paradise of Surfers. All 5 of Iobabao's test runs were clocked in faster than his nearest competition, Oleg Hatzeganov of the Hetz Va Keshet coalition from Milchama. The slowest of Iobabao's 5 practice runs was clocked about six hundreths of a second faster than Hatzeganov's best lap, a time of 1:36.240 which currently sees the Milchaman second in the practice charts. Iobabao's best time, a lap of 1:35.357 sees him nearly 9 tenths of a second clear on the practice charts after 9 competitors have gone, and certainly one of the favorites in the upcoming qualifying session.

BazSports News Update.

In an unprecidented move Bazalonia has infact submitted a driver to the Atlantian Oceania MotorSport Championship. Robert Anderson, Bazalonia's most infamous driver has signed up for the regional motorsport competition. The Bazalonian MotorSport Commission (BMSC) initially refused to take part in the AOMC in response to the policy of using controversial took known as 'batracer'. Unfortunately no one outside the Motor racing community has any idea what this tool is. In fact it was Robert that lead the charge for the BMSC to change it's mind.

Exactly how the BMSC changed it's mind is a bit of a mystery, an un-named source within the BMSC suggests that some photo's where involved but we have not been able to obtain the photo's of questions. As to the content of these photo's we can only speculate.

In practice a minor engine problem has ceased Robert's practice. It is not a major problem but has cut his practice short, it was on his second last lap. I have Robert here with me.

So Robert, what happened?

Well, as I was going around the track there was a problem and the car just started to run away from me, there was a problem with the acceleration. I had to shut the car off and wheel the car back to the pit. The car will be fine for qualification but yeah, we could have been better

Iobabao takes Race #1 Pole Position

Vilita & Turori Open Wheel Racing Team driver Jericei Iobabao has clinched the first ever Open Wheel Championship pole position with a lap time of 1:33.847, backing up his performance as the fastest driver in the practice session. Iobabao was the first driver to take to the track, and posted a nearly untouchable lap of
1:34.611 to open the session. Oliverrian rider Patrice Belair came close to knocking the Vilitan off the top spot with his 1:34.623 lap, but les francais was unable to take the track for a second crack at the pole position due to mechanical difficulty. It looked as if Iobabao had the top spot and 1 bonus point locked up, until Casari's Kraig Fitzimmons, the last driver other than Iobabao to complete his second and final qualifying lap, turned in a 1:34.392 to move into the top spot. Vilita & Turori would not be denied however, as Iobabao returned to the track a minute later to trounce the Casarian time, taking the top spot with a lap over half a second faster than the nearest competitor with the final qualifying run of the session.

When asked his strategy for the upcoming AOWC, Rk-Mrs replied simply "Three". Nobody could figure out what he was talking about, so we pressed on for further information. Eventually he told us that his strategy involved a series of near misses. "The ideal thing to do is take third in just about every race", he informed us. "Look at that Iobabao guy from Vilita. Already everbody's bullseyed him as the racer to beat. They'll try to slow him down in races and who knows, might even try more devious things to sabotage him. We don't want that. The plan is to try to stay in the mix but out of the lead until right at the end." Because we didn't have any other famous Az-czid drivers to scrounge up to ask questions, we went to kleptochase star Tex-Mex for his thoughts on that strategy. "Madness. The kid is clearly bonkers. That's probably why he went into car racing as opposed to a real sport like kleptochase or football. If you've got a chance to win, you take it, even if it means you become the target." He explained. "I was the dream win on the kleptochase tour for years, but I never worried about it. Any strategy that involves losing shows a clear lack of confidence. Just a sad statement." So there you have it. Either Rk-Mrs is a crafty cunning cat, or just a moron. Of course, giving a way his secret probably makes it harder for him to win. Oh well. A reporter's job and all that. Now we just sit and wait and find out who's right about this whole thing.

Criticism of Chacor entry into AOOWC

There has been heavy criticism of the Chacorian entry into the AO Open Wheel Championships. Many are unhappy that the government of Chacor has seemingly tried to use the AOOWC as a political tool by entering a native Djacor-Rysonian, Kristjan Durant, into the competition as the competitor for a "Chacor-DR" team.

While the team name does not fully reference the renegade province, many see this as an attempt to harmonise the breakaway region with the rest of Chacor, and the Chacoran Motor Association has filed an official complaint with the Chacoran government. However, this is not expected to change the Chacoran government's mind.

The Chacoran government said in a statement that the government "still, as it has always done, recognises Djacor-Rysonia as part of sovereign Chacor. Kristjan was chosen for his skills, as he has proven himself in race testing in the Liverpool England National Racing Series. The Chacoran government refute any claims of political usage of an international sporting tournament. Indeed, our backup driver, Janislav Modry, is a Crna Gora Liv Eng/Chacoran national, to show that we are not biased towards any one particular entity."

Durant, 22, who lives permanently in Schimpol, Liverpool England, refused to comment at the first qualifying session of the season, where he qualified in 13th out of 16 cars.

Marquis places last in qualifying

Julian Marquis has not had a good championship so far. After suffering an engine fire on his second test lap, he has placed last in qualifying. Team engineer Matson Jade spoke today. "We'd told him to drive conservatively, after the massive engine blowout we suffered during testing. Since qualifying, we've had a chance to do a few more test laps, further tweaking the car. Julian's assured me he's going to be gunning it in the final race, so I'm looking forward to it."

Posted by: Bazalonia Aug 30 2006, 04:29 AM
Robert Anderson Qualfied in the middle of the pack, ranked 7 out of the 16. When asked about his position he replied. "I'm generally happy with the setup, quite a few of the setups are just sweet but there are still things that need tweaking but with my home course coming up, well just let's say I'm optimistic about my chances."

Robert Anderson's warm up circuits where just 6 hundreths of a second behind the Chacoran Kristjan Durant and sits in forth behind the Vilitian & Turorian and Milchaman teams. Wether Robert has a chance to take the number one place from the Vilitian and Turorian team we'll be sure to keep you covered.

Bélair takes 3rd place in Qualifying session

After being a midfielder in practice, Bélair proved his capacity to make extremely fast laps after making a spectacularly fast first lap, being only 0.012 seconds slower than the Vilitan favourite to win the championship, Jericei Iobabao. After that lap, we were able to interview Patrice Bélair to ask him his impressions about this lap. "I'm very happy about this lap but, you know, we can do better in our second lap. I'm a little concerned about the 2nd chicane, that I could have been doing better, but this is a very nice lap you know."

Bélair's 2nd run was to forget, as he was stuck in the pits, his engine refusing to start. We have heard that the problem came in fact from the turbocompressor, which simply refused to work correctly. Bélair refused to answer our questions, but seemed very frustrated after he could not do a second lap.

After results were officially known, Patrice Bélair told us he was happy anyway to be 3rd and that it was a good qualifying position. He just hopes that the race will go fine and that he will be able to finish top 5.

Just a note of change. In addition to the top 10 in the standings, The Nation with the best RP record will receive automatic entry into the next two AOMC's. Should this nation finish outside the top 10 in the standings, they will be given priority into the next AOMC for the at-large places as earned through their RP record.

First the tires go, then the rest of the car

Rk-Mrs is having some serious problems with his vehicle as he competes in the AOWC racing forum. These simply reflect the problems all of Az-cz are having in the sporting arena right now. Following the Baptism of Fire victory everything else has fallen apart. The basketball team failed to win a game in the Atlantian Oceania tournament, the football team is struggling mightily in qualifiers for the World Cup and even in our own sport of Kleptochase we aren't doing very well, although admittedly we aren't sending nearly our best chasers.
Amazingly though, Rk-Mrs has been able to top them all with his level of incompetence. First in the opening race after making a good qualifying run he failed to turn in any result at all. He was in sixth place to open the race, and he fluctuated between 6th and 9th. However on the 16th lap his tires gave out on him and he was out of the race. This happened while sitting in 6th place and just before the caution came out.
Amazingly things got worse for Rk-Mrs from there. After doing his practice laps for the next race, his car was stolen. Now how a race car gets stolen from a race track that's about to compete without anyone noticing is quite a feat. You have to tip your hats to thieves, but it's definitely a set back for Rk-Mrs. He was unable to compete in qualifying because of his lack of car. Hopefully they will find his car or be able to procure him a new one by the time of the actual race. Either way Rk-Mrs seems unlikely to find points in the next race either.
As for the identity or whereabouts of the thieves, that is currently unknown. Officials suspect Az-cz residents as they doubt people from other countries have the necessary skills to pull such a heist, but can't figure out why Az-cz residents would do such a thing. As more information comes to light we will provide you all with the details.

Iobabao Finishes Race #1 Sweep

Vilita & Turori Open Wheel Racing Team driver Jericei Iobabao finished off the perfect opening to the Atlantian Oceania Open Wheel Championship with a victory in the first race propelling him to the top of the table. In addition to the victory, Iobabao turned the fastest individual lap in the race, and led the most total laps over the course of the event, earning an additional bonus point for each feat and taking home the maximum even weekend total of 23 points to take an early 7 point lead in the standings over runner up Uzumaki Naruto of Fmjphoenix.

The lead was quickly cut down to 6 points earlier today however, in qualifying for the second race of the season. Naruto turned the fastest lap to earn the pole position for the race and one bonus point in the standings. Iobabao, second fastest only to the Oliverrian entrant in the opening practice session, made an error on his qualifying lap and was the slowest of all competitors who completed a lap. The only competitor not to complete a lap was Rk-Mrs of Az-Cz. Unfortunately, the team seem to have misplaced Rk-Mrs' racing vehicle. The Vilitan & Turori Open Wheel Racing Team have offered the Az-Cz team the use of their back up vehicle for the weekend if the Az-Cz team is unable to locate their race car.

Key To Winnning is Simple, says Sorley

Cameron Sorley has got off to a pretty good start, after qualifying 11th for the Surfers Paradise Race, he then finished that way as well and gained 2 Championship Points. Yesterday he qualified 14th for the Phoenix Race. He said in an intervies that staying on the track and not crashing will be the most important part of the season due to the small amount of entires.

Tranafor Overcomes Bad Start, Takes Second

After several frustrating pratice and warmup laps, Julius Tranafor did not expect to do well in the Pheonix International Raceway. But after a disastrous start, Tranafor was able to take advantage of the poor driving in front of him to make several easy draft passes, bringing him up to 7th after just lap 15. Tranafor didn't look back, slowly eating up at his competition, before finally setting into 2nd place. Perhaps the biggest thing that helped Tranafor was his pit crew, whom shaved a full 10 seconds off of his time compared to first place racer Belair. The pit crew redeemed themselves after a horrible race in Australia. Both the crew and Tranafor said the main difference was much better pit timing and just good luck and driving.

Rk-Mrs avoids trouble to move up the standings

After a qualification that couldn't get off the ground Rk-Mrs looked to be in trouble going to the second race. Although he didn't turn in a great result he did end up moving up the charts.
The key for Rk-Mrs today was avoiding trouble. That's what did him in during race 1 and qualifying. Using Vilita's graciously offered backup car he was able to stay out of any serious trouble. He almost had trouble on lap 14 when he collided with Albina MacCullen of Myrtannia but was able to stay in control. From there he fluctuated up and down through the rankings but avoided crashing and finally ended up in 8th. Considering the past couple of rounds he had, that can be considered a very good result.

Iobabao back on top in Qualifying

After a clean sweep in the opening event where he won the Pole, Race and all bonus points; Vilita & Turori Open Wheel Racing Team driver Jericei Iobabao was proven mortal in a less than impressive Race #2 where the Turorian born racer qualified slowest of the cars attempting a lap, and only faught back to a mediocre place in the final standings. It may have looked as if Iobabao was out of the running again after the first practice session in Long Beach, but the Vilita & Turorian pulled it off, with his first lap being good enough for the top spot, but with one driver still to attempt after him, the sometimes dangerous Oliverrian Patrice Belair - winner of the previous race and second in the standings, Iobabao returned to the track for a second run and clinched his top spot with a blistering lap rounding the course in 52.214 seconds, over half a second faster than the second fastest qualifier, Chacor-DR's Kristjan Durant who wrecked on their second qualification attempt.

Geisenfried's Gunther Schwarz who was fastest in the practice session and favored for the top spot will start from the rear of the grid after a mechanical problem left the driver dissapointingly without a single attempt on the track. Many will be looking for Schwarz to tear quickly through the field on race day to contend up front with Iobabao and Durant for the victory.

Still using the Vilitan car Rk-Mrs does well in qualifying

There's both good news and bad news in the camp of Rk-Mrs. The bad news is that Rk-Mrs car is still missing. The good news is that he's still doing well with the Vilita car. Also the word is that some progress has been made in finding his car, although he might be better off without it.
In the qualifying for the third race, Rk-Mrs put up a nice time to finish in fifth place. Unsupringly Vilita won the qualifying again. It seems that their cars are much better than ours. In fact they've proven they're the best so far.

Durant qualifies second, leads warmups
Kristjan Durant leads the way in warmups for the Long Beach race, the third of the season. Despite wrecking his car and thus managing only one run, the run was good enough to put Durant at the top of the timesheets. Earlier, Durant was able to pull off second place in qualifying despite suffering an accident on his second lap, thus only completing one qualifying lap.

Durant, who has come under heavy criticism at home over his selection, will race for at least three more races after Long Beach, the Chacor-DR team confirmed today. "Beyond that, we cannot say what will happen."

Rk-Mrs car comes back; Rk-Mrs shows skill but it more of the same in the end

After turning in a respectable sixth place in the third race, Rk-Mrs car finally turned up. The identity of the thieves is still unknown as is the motive for the crime.
With his car back Rk-Mrs was excited to get back into qualifying, but turned in his worst performance yet finishing in 15th well behind the pack.
On race day he started out quite well. He was turning in quick laps and was quickly gaining on his opponents. He moved all the way up from 15th to 4th in the race, when he made a huge mistake, proving his true colors.
Despite having a bit of a gap between himself and Marquis behind him, Rk-Mrs took the first turn of lap 125 too agressively and lost control of his car, ending his day prematurely. That meant that all of his impressive work went to waste as he finished 13th, just outside of the points.
Once again we asked Tex-Mex for his thoughts. "I told you the kid's a doof. He doesn't want to become a target but yet he's the one who gets his car stolen. He doesn't seem to want to win, so naturally he's losing. It pains me to see Az-cz doing so poorly. If we're going to compete again we better find a better racer. I hear there's a young good racer named Al-Unsr, who might be able to give it a go. He couldn't be worse."

Rk-Mrs has another disappointing qualifying run, flips out

Following his silly crash Rk-Mrs tried to regroup during qualifying. It was clear that he was distracted and he was only able to finish in 9th during qualifying.
After the race he explained what the problem was. "I'm freaking sick of Tex-Mex berating me. I'm doing my best. I'd like that old coot to give it a try. He'd probably crash on lap 1."
When told of the statement Tex-Mex's response was, "sign me up, I couldn't do any worse."
Tex-Mex is quickly becoming a big part of this AOWC. Who knows where this will end up.

Tex-Mex press conference

Tex-Mex: I have been in negotiations with the Rk-Mrs racing team and we have come to an agreement with the team that I will drive the qualification and race of Belle Isle Park. The main point here is to prove that Rk-Mrs is really a magog like I think he is. I may not turn in a great time, but so long as I get zero points I'm doing as well as Rk-Mrs.

"... and with just a few minutes to go till we begin, let's join our roving reporter on the track, Tim Marlin. Tim?"

The Sonastra Sports Network cameras cut to a rather excitable-looking man standing at the back of the grid - although whether that excitment is due to the anticipation of what could be a great race, or just something to do with the scantily-clad ladies holding umbrellas for the drivers' benefit remains to be seen.

"Yes, you join me here on the starting grid. The atmosphere here is building up nicely, the fans looking forward to a cracking race. A bit of a shock to see who's sitting at the back though - Cameron Sorley has been looking good all weekend, but a disastrous qualifying run sees him taking up the rear. Equally shocking is who is sitting just in front of him - Naruto and series leader Jercei Iobabao, both of whom had error-strewn qualifying laps."

He continues his little walk, pointing out the various competitors for the viewers back home - motor sports are still a fledging thing in Bettia, but as all other sports, the public are starting to embrace it. Eventually he comes to the front of the grid.

"...and sitting proudly in pole position is our very own Bobby Gashead. Let's see if we can get a few words with him..." he says as he and his trusty camera crew bustle their way past the various team engineers and officials surrounding the garishly-coloured green and orange car.

"Bobby? Tim Marlin, Sonastra Sports Network. A few words for the folks back home? You're on pole for this race - how does it feel?"

"Very good mate. After the good start to the season, I feel I've underperformed these past two of three races so I'm looking to put that right here. So far, things have been going great - the car's set up nicely and feels good, we've been looking sharp all weekend, and to qualify six-tenths ahead of everyone else with a sub-20 second lap is a real confidence booster. I just hope I can keep it together today."

"So what are your thoughts for today's race? How do you see it going?"

"Hmmmm. Well, don't expect Jeri to stay at the back for long - he's had a good warmup, and so has Cameron. Fitzy's looking on the ball too, so he's one to watch out for here..."

"I'm sorry Bobby, that's the two-minute warning, we have to leave it here. Good luck, the Blessed Realm's counting on ya! And so it's back to the studio for race commentary with Dewi Butler and Ian Abdurrahman..."

Rk-Mrs disappoints again

Following his pattern Rk-Mrs does some good moves but in the end fails to perform, ending up in 12th.
Rk-Mrs struggled at the beginning of the race quickly getting passed by many racers. However after his first pit stop he really started to move. He made many passes and got as high as third position.
With only 22 laps Rk-Mrs was sitting in 5th place and looked to be turning in one of his best races yet, but alas his car gave out and he was forced to the sidelines in a mere 12th place.
Following another disappointing performance Tex-Mex will be stepping into his car for the next set of qualifying. Let's see how his kleptochase skills transfer over to the race course.

Modry confirmed as driver for two races
The Chacor-DR AOOWC team today confirmed speculation that Kristjan Durant will, at least temporarily, race his last race for the team at Belle Isle. A statement released by the team said that "we are please with Kristjan's performances so far this season, although there is room for improvement. We can confirm that we have been contacted by the World Grand Prix Championship team LEC® LivEng Racing™ about releasing Kristjan from his races for the Chacor-DR team.

"While we have not yet issued a response to LEC LivEng Racing, Kristjan has indicated that he'd like to take a short break from AOOWC racing to carefully consider his future, and we respect his decision. Therefore, Janislav Modry will provisionally take over the Chacor-DR racing seat for two races, at Portland and Road America, afterwhich we will again evaluate our options."

Durant did not finish the last race at the Milwaukee Mile.

Tex-Mex busts Rk-Mrs up

In his first ever competitive round behind the wheel of a racecar Tex-Mex proved that he is at least as good of a driver as Rk-Mrs. He finished fourth in qualifying and set himself up for a good chance at earning points in the race itself.
After his race Tex-Mex had this to say, "I'm a 60 year old man and I took 4th in my first qualifying round. What is wrong with Rk-Mrs? He just isn't a good racer. I think it's confidence and instincts that he's lacking."
We tried to reach Rk-Mrs for his comment, but we could only reach his mother Ma-Mrs, who said that they had no comment.
Still a nice day for Az-cz fans. A good result and a chance to see one of the greatest Az-cz sports heroes competing again our both reasons to celebrate.

Tex-Mex crashes out

After a nice qualifying run a lot was expected of Tex-Mex, but he failed rather early in the race, failing to earn any points and pushing Az-cz to the bottom of the rankings.
"It's harder than I thought. Most of the time it's ok, but I made one mistake and that doomed me.", Tex-Mex explained after his race. "It was a good experience and yes I failed to earn any points. But I still don't understand Rk-Mrs's struggles. I'm a 60 year old beginner. He's supposed to be a pro. There's a difference."
Rk-Mrs will be back racing again from the next race. The team has announced no plans to change the long term driver at this point.

Race Highlights

"...and the drivers are approaching the start line to get this race underway, Bettia's own Bobby Gashead starting from fifth place... and we are GO! And Gashead has made an excellent start overtaking Schwarz almost immediately. Well, he couldn't have asked for a better start there, he was on the ball straight away. Oh, wait a minute, he's not finished yet, he's having a go at Naruto going into the corner... and he's taken him! I don't know what Naruto was thinking there, letting Gashead pass him so easily. Oh, and now he's having a go at Mrs... and he's done it! Well, we're not even through this first lap and Gashead has already fought his way from P5 on the grid up to P2. A flying start by the young Bettian and no mistake."

Lap 17 / 18

"I don't know, ever since going in for that early pitstop, Gashead's pace seems to have dropped dramatically - perhaps the new tyres haven't had a chance to warm up properly, he does seem to be struggling to find some real grip out there. Schwarz is lapping much faster at the moment, he's all over Gashead's tail and... oh well, that was kind of inevitable really. Schwarz just pulled out of Gashead's slipstream and passed him easily just as they crossed the start / finish line, and to make things worse Mrs is looming large behind him - if he's not careful he's going to lose another place. Oh, there he goes, another place lost far too easily. Gashead has really got to get back on the pace to stand a chance here."

Lap 20

"Gashead's having a wretched time of it out there, he's still lapping considerably slower than his competitors. Durant now, fighting it out with Gashead with an excellent overtaking opportunity going into turn eight... oh, that was far too easy. Gashead looks rattled out there, and Iobabao's taken full advantage of the situation - that was a clever bit of driving from the V&T driver there."

Lap 56

"Gashead and Durant battling it out for third place going into turn nine, and Durant's won it easily - it looks like Gashead's having the same old problems with the fresh tyres. And Durant's going into the pits now - seems like a bit of a waste of time, going to all that trouble to gain a place only to give it up again. And look at that - the pit crew are having trouble with that fuel line, it's jammed in! Look at Durant, he's fuming! His mechanics have made a royal hash-up of that pit-stop, and that's got to be good for Gashead!"

Lap 60

"Iobabao coming into the pits now for his last scheduled stop - Gashead moves up into second place with less than a quarter of the race to run - can he hold it?"

Lap 69

"Here's Naruto now, simply cruising it seems. He's built up a healthy lead and is looking comfortable... OH MY WORD! Oh, this is unbelivable! He's totally overcooked it going into turn nine and he's span off - say hello to Mr Tyrewall! Against all the odds, Gashead is now the race leader with just eight laps to go and more than ten seconds ahead of the second-placed driver. This is amazing, victory is within Bettia's grasp - just don't do anything stupid Bobby, DON'T DO ANYTHING STUPID!"

Lap 77

"...with eleven and a half seconds to spare, Bobby Gashead takes the chequered flag for Bettia, and what a proud day for him it is too. Just look at him, punching the air with delight as he salutes the crowd, including the small contingent who have made the journey over here, waving their flags and cheering their hero. Bobby Gashead take his maiden race victory, which by my calculations puts him equal third in the drivers championship. Well done Bobby!"

Rk-Mrs pretends to be good again, crashes again

The way Rk-Mrs is going this newspaper is being forced to consider discontinuning reporting on him. After every race all we have to write is, Rk-Mrs starts well and crashes out. There just isn't any need to cover such a racer. We'll see what happens from the next race, but unless there is popular outpouring for Rk-Mrs coverage, we might discontinue coverage after the next race.

Rk-Mrs finishes 6th

After a long string of disasters Rk-Mrs finally finished a course succesfully. He benefited from the smaller number of laps in this race, the fewest of the whole championship to avoid making any mistakes that would hurt him and came through with a decent result.
"I'm pleased. It's a step in the right direction," explained Rk-Mrs. However Tex-Mex was still not accepting of the results. "Sixth place? We're celebrating sixth place?", he complained. "Sixth place is not a good result considering all the chasers are in their first AOWC. Someone like Schreider should be pleased for passing experienced pros, but in the AOWC they should all be on the same level."
Despite Tex-Mex's complaints Rk-Mrs has advanced in a positive direction.

Rk-Mrs back to old ways

After finishing sixth in the previous race there was some optimism in the Rk-Mrs camp. He had a decent qualifying run coming in 10th and they thought they might be able to make some noise in the race.
And make noise they did. They started out running quite well. They proceeded to as high as fourth and were running pretty well. There was some thought that Rk-Mrs would move closer to the top 10.
However as is his standard plan, he messed up. He made an error on the first turn of lap 49 and crashed into Marquis of Falcania and was out of the race.
He now sits in 14th in the overall standings. It seems mind boggling to think that there are racers worse than Rk-Mrs, but probably they'll pass him in due time.

First win for Falcania at, well, anything, really.

After a dismal start to the season, Julian Marquis has lived up to his reputation by burning through the fast corners of Burke Lakefront airport into first place at the AOOWC earlier today. The racing driver is representing Falcania in the first open wheel championship and so far has been met with a string of dismal failures. However, today was different. Test driver Ben J. Johnson was on hand to talk to the Mathdon Expendent today.

"Julian grew up in Featbridge, and his real forte was burning rings around Featbridge Aerodrome. He knows airports, does Julian. That's why I'm not surprised he placed first today, nearly ten seconds ahead of Fitzimmons. I don't know what it is, but those two don't seem to get on very well. Julian's understandably pleased, and I just hope he doesn't let the victory get to his head."

The next race takes place at Michigan Int'l Speedway. The 250 lap behemoth of a circuit will surely try the nerves of our driver. Details will be in the Expedent first, as always.

Rk-Mrs returns to normal

After finishing in 7th in the last competition there was a slight bit of optimism among Az-cz race fans. Thankfully for us Rk-Mrs was there to put that right out in his most recent race.
He qualified in fourth and there was some thought he might compete for a spot on the podium. However it took him only four laps to plunge down to 14th, where he probably felt more comfortable. And after pitting on lap 50 saw himself in last place. He eventually climbed back up to 7th, before crashing on lap 128 to end up in 15th place.
As for the reason for his crash, I think you can all guess. Rk-Mrs made a driver's error and caused himself to crash. He has had a few problems caused from outside his car but mostly he just loses by himself.

Rk-Mrs pit crew fed up

The bad feelings from his pit crew have boiled over and it seems that Rk-Mrs chances of coming back next season are just about over.
Rk-Mrs' crew chief Tm-Tylr complained to us, "we're working our asses off for Rk-Mrs and he squanders it every time. Now we're not the greatest pit crew, but we're pretty good. I'm pretty confident that if we had a racer who didn't consistently waste our work we'd be in the top half of the standings. Unfortunately we've got that donkey Rk-Mrs."
Considering his feud with Tex-Mex and this Rk-Mrs would have to put up very strong results to get invited back at this point.

Strong run marred by collision

Vilita & Turori driver Jericei Iobabao retook the championship lead with just two races to go in the Inagural Atlantian Oceania Open Wheel Championships after a strong runner up finish today. Iobabao looked strong all race long, and might have come home with the checkered flag if not for a mid-race collision with main championship rival Kraig Fitzsimmons. Fitzsimmons had been behind Iobabao all race long, but a Caution flag allowed the Casarin driver to catch up to the Turorian after Iobabao pitted. Noticably sub-par to the Vilita & Turori driver throughout the race, Fitzsimmons made a daring move to over take Iobabao but the wheels touched, sending Fitzsimmons into the wall and Iobabao sliding up the track losing track position.

The encounter was the end of Fitzsimmons' race, but Iobabao would fight back, regaining his position in the top three, but running out of time at the end, finishing runner up to Falcania's Julian Marquis who won his second race of the season. After re-taking the points lead, fate is now in Jericei Iobabao's hands, having only to finish higher than Fitzsimmons in the final two events to clinch the title, with all other competitors already mathematically eliminated from the championship chase.

An interview with Az-cz racing owner, Ltr-Mn

Aj-Ft: Tell us about your emotions so far this season?

Ltr-Mn: It's been tough. From getting the car stolen early on, to the friendliness of the Vilitans to all the crashes, it's been a long up and down season.

Aj-Ft: Considering his third place finish in the most recent race what would you say the chances of Rk-Mrs being the driver for the next season are?

Ltr-Mn: Up in the air. There are a number of other drivers who'd like that chance. If he can turn in two similar results he'll probably get invited back, but otherwise I don't know.

Aj-Ft: Speaking of getting invited back what do you think the chances of the Az-cz being on the AOMC next season are?

Ltr-Mn: Well, we're still a ways from the top 10 automatic invite back but I'd say our commitment to the championship surpasses that of most teams and we'll get a wild card invite as a testament to our dedication. That's the hope anyways.

Aj-Ft: What's your take on the Tex-Mex situation?

Ltr-Mn: Look I was involved in getting him in the car for his race. So I wasn't against that. He's a legend, basically you defer to him. It would've been ugly if I turned down his request.

Aj-Ft: How do you think Rk-Mrs will finish the season?

Ltr-Mn: We're hoping for two strong runs and that he finishes both courses.

Aj-Ft: Can you tell us about some other racers being considered?

Ltr-Mn: Well other than Al-Unsr, who Tex-Mex mentioned, I'd rather not.

Aj-Ft: Alright. Thanks for taking the time to talk us.

Falcania Triumphant

Another thrilling race of the AOOWC has resulted in Falcania's second win in three races. After being rammed last race by the Vilitan driver Iobabo, Featbridge-born-and-raised Julian Marquis is back on top after his thrilling performance today. He had qualified fourth a day previously, largely due to the skill of his engineering team in tuning the car to relative perfection. Starting in position four of the grid, he was soon overtaken but maintained track position due to Chacorian driver Durant's misfortune in losing four places. Marquis then had a fairly uneventful race until lap 16, when he scraped his car taking the final hairpin too tight, necessitating a pitstop the following lap. 11.32 seconds later he screeched out of the pits, to discover he had lost just three places. Marquis gained back two of those places, firstly due to Fitzsimmons pitting, and secondly due to superbly-fought duel with Bobby Gashead, of Bettia. TLC's Trafanor pitted, allowing Marquis to slip forward into podium position of 3rd. The Falcanian driver then began a four-lap duel with Hatzeganov, which he was forced to abandon by taking a brief pitstop, emerging once more in 4th. He returned to 3rd after his duelling partner Hatzeganov was forced to retire with turbo issues.

After some sterling performance in catching up with the race leaders, Iobabo and Gashead, Marquis eventually managed to duel the former into submission. The very next lap, Marquis' rival, Fitzsimmons, managed to unwittingly aid his foe by clipping Iobabo's wheels. Kraig Fitzsimmons was sent carreering into a wall, while Iobabo scraped along the side of the track, losing three places. Marquis' only worry now was Bobby Gashead, who pitted a few laps later. Pushing ever harder ahead of Rk-Mrs of Az-Cz, who was by this point nearly 24 seconds behind him, he managed to set a new lap record on lap 52, which he then proceeded to break twice on the adjacent laps. A pitstop allowed Mrs to take the lead briefly, but after he himself pitted Marquis was once again leading, with former leader Iobabo hot on his heels. However, Julian's worries were over when the Vilitan pulled into the pits, and chaotic mechanics cost him roughly six seconds. Iobabo emerged 43 seconds behind Marquis, a gap which proceeded to widen as Marquis set a new fastest lap on lap 69. He then pitted himself, and emerged with the gap severely shortened but only to roughly 22 seconds. Iobabo rocketted ahead to attempt to claim victory but it was in vain. Marquis rolled over the finish line triumphantly, to the sounds of hundreds of Falcanians screeching in celebration.

Julian Marquis's excellent performance is expected to land him a place in next year's tournament.

The Daily Quak
Sorley Needs To Improve

The Atlantian Openwheel Championships have been on going on around the globe lately and Quakmybushian Driver Cameron Sorley has been racing in it. He sits in 11th in the standings 5 points behind the Chacor driver, who it is at the moment, we arnt quite sure. Here are Sorley' results:

Surfers Paradise: Qualified 11th, Finished 11th
Phoenix: Qualified 15th, Finished 6th
Long Beach: Qualified 6th, Finshed 9th
Nazareth: Qualified 14th, Finished 10th
Milwaukee: Qualified 16th, Finished 13th (Out due to Driving Error)
Belle Isle: Qualified 16th, Finished 7th
Portland: Qualified 8th, Finished 8th
Road America: Qualified 9th, Finished 7th
Toronto: Qualified 6th, Finished 7th (Fastest Lap)
Cleveland: Qualified 8th, Finished 5th
Michigan: Qualified 10th, Finished 5th
Mid-Ohio: Qualified 15th, Finished 12th
New Hampshire: Qualified 15th

AVG Start - 11.4
AVG Finish - 9.3

It is clear the problem with Sorley is that he cannot qualify to well. He needs to step it up to clinch a spot in the Championship next year.

Rk-Mrs finishes second race in a row

After a fine run to finish in third place Rk-Mrs looked determined to build on that success, and from his perspective he succeeded.

He finished 9th in the race, which isn't a particularly impressive finish. And he struggled on the day, often losing ground to other drivers, but he did in fact finish. For only the second time all season he's finished consecutive races. If he can manage to stay on the course for the next race he'll have set a personal best.

He is of course the only driver not to have finished three races in a row. Still with a driver the caliber of Rk-Mrs you have to take any small victories you can find.

Posted by: Falcania Sep 25 2006, 07:04 PM
Thrice victorious!

Another frankly astonishing win for Falcanian driver Julian Marquis today in the AOOWC. The race team were looking confident for this track, helped partly because of Marquis's excellent performance in qualifying and partly because of chief engineer "Jewels" Mickleson's excelling tuning of the car. Julian started the race in first place and kept it, despite constant harrassment from Vilitan Iobabo, who finally outbraked Julian into turn 5 on lap 15. However, a pitstop ten laps later allowed Marquis to retake the lead. By the time Iobabo regained second place, Julian was massively ahead, allowing him to take his first scheduled pitstop without danger of losing position, and indeed he emerged still 13.5 seconds ahead of the Vilitan. Marquis fended off opportunistic advances from Iobabo, and set fastest laps on 61-64 and lap 66 too. However, the number of the devil caught up with him as he pitted, losing three places. By lap 76 he had clawed his way back up into 2nd place behind Iobabo, but time was running out. Constant stabs at Iobabo's security looked vain, until lap 97 when he finally clawed his way back into the lead. Confidence restored, he soared into his third victory.

Rk-Mrs once again gets knocked off the course

With only once course remaining, the home course here in Lei-Laz, Rk-Mrs managed to clinch a number of dubious records for this AOWC season.

He was sitting in third place and racing well looking like he might challenge for a top spot, until he collided with Bobby Gashead of Bettia on Lap 13, ending the day for both drivers.

With that result Rk-Mrs guaranteed that he would finish less than half of the races on the tour and that he would never finish more than two consecutive races. Both are embarassing results and blots on the record of Az-cz sport.

We decided to get Tex-Mex's opinion again and here's what he had to say. "Even our team for the Atlantian Oceania Basketball Championships who lost every game they played were better than Rk-Mrs. There ought to be no way he gets invited back for next season. It's just ridiculous."

And that sums up the Az-cz race season.

Conservative Iobabao prepares for final showdown

Vilita and Turori Open Wheel driver Jericei Iobabao took a conservative approach to the Pacific Place event, opting for reliability and control over raw speed. It nearly paid off as well for the consistent Iobabao who ran a patient race, and took the lead on lap 76 when championship rival Fitzimmons pitted for tires and fuel, the final driver to make his final pitstop. Falcanias Marquis was right behind however, and had been the fastest on the track all race long. At first it appeared Marquis would easily overtake the Turorian driver, but Iobabao had other ideas, holding the Falcanian driver off until finally submitting just 3 laps from the finish, as Marquis drove to victory and Iobabao had to settle for second place.

Championship rival Kraig Fitzimmons looked to have done himself in on lap 93 but he quickly returned to the track and limped his badly damaged vehicle home in 5th place, earning a crucial 10 points towards the final standings. Despite retaking the lead in the standings, Jericei Iobabao leads by just 2 points going into the final event of the season. The bottom line is, whoever finishes higher in the final race wins the first ever AOMC championship.

Sorley Heartbroken, missed top 10 by 5 points.

It was the final race of the AOMC and Cameron Solrey needs to finish well to qualify ahead of Modry from Chacor. On the first lap Sorley collided with Bobby Gashead from Bettia causing him to have to pit. Sorley came out in last place. He then gained a position when rival Modry crashed with Schwarz from Geisenfried. This put Sorley in a very good spot needing an 8th or better place to get into the top 10. Sorley radioed in to the team "Send Schwarz a bread basket" He and the team had a good laugh and he kept driving. On Lap 9 Sorley's car hit. He passed Belair from Oliverry with ease. On Lap 12 he passed Tranafor from The Lowland Clans. Then on Lap 14 he passed Aleister from Xile in turn 1, and Harrison from Demot. This moved him up into 11th, he still needed a few more positions to get those 5 points. Two cars that were in front of him pitted on Lap 17, and he passed Gashead to move up into P9. He gained another position when MacCullen from Myrtannia chose to pit. He was now in 7th and was sitting in the top 10. Sorley then blew past Marquis from Falcania to move into 6th. Sorley then pit on Lap 28 and shuffled down to 8th. He gained 1 spot back the next Lap when Naruto from Fmjphoenix pit. MacCullen obviously had a faster car so Sorley let him by so that he didnt ruin his car on Lap 36. 7 laps later MacCullen gave the position back when he decided to pit. Going into turn 1 on Lap 50 Sorley passed Mrs from Az-Cz to move into 6th. On Lap 52 Tranafor dropped out of the racer. Then on Lap 55 tragedt struck. Sorley who clearly had a faster car than Schwarz attempted to pass him, Schwarz cut Sorley off and the two racers collided ending both of their days. Over the radio Sorley said "Oh ya.... that bread basket, tell Schwarz he can stick it up his ass." Sorley was clearly angry, he got out of his car and went straight to Schwarz's car and started yelling at him. He then took a swing at him, however track officials got in between the two before anything worse could happen. Both drivers were extremely angry, and when they got to their pits they started to go at it again. However both drivers were finally seperated. The race continues while Sorley sat broken hearted in his trailer. Iobabao from Vilita won the racer and the championship and Sorley finished 11th in the standings

Rk-Mrs closes with strong run

Competing in front of his home fans Rk-Mrs finished strongly. Despite making four stops on a relatively short course he was still able to rack up a third place finish.

He looked really good on the course, turning in the best lap for the entire tour. His knowledge of the home course paid off as he navigated his way towards the podium.

However despite making the podium twice towards the end of the season he won't be representing Az-cz next season. Ltr-Mn explained "he improved near the season and we may well ask him back in the future. But for now we're going in a different direction." No word has been released on who will replace.

Still if that was his last race for Az-cz he ended well. Despite his poor skills and troubles he kept his head up and for that we salute him.

Bedistan chooses entrant for second AOOWC season

Having missed the boat the first time around, the Bedistan Association of Motorsports (BAM) has selected reigning national champion Tim Bowen to represent the nation in the second Atlantian Oceania Open Wheel Championship. Expectations are high for Bowen, and it is predicted that he should prove more than a match for last season's competitors.

The season is expected to get underway shortly.

Schwarz Starts the Season Off Right
Geisenfried takes the checkered flag in first race

Last year, Gunther Schwarz had a bittersweet season: though he was consistent in races and finished fourth overall in the standings, quite respectable, he never won a single race. But that was last season, and despite the troubles and strife that now brew all over Atlantian Oceania, the Atlantian Oceanian Motor Championship continues on, and the second season has begun.

And Schwarz performed excellently. Qualifying second before cruising past the current AOMC Champion Jericei Iobabao from Vilita and Turori on the first lap, Gunther preceeded to take 57 out of 65 laps, the fastest lap time and the checkered flag, giving him 22 points to start of the season to put him at the top of the championship with his first career racing victory.

Last year, Jericei Iobabao took first in the beginning race as well before adding a consistent season to take the championship, now can Schwarz follow the recipe for success to become the next champion? Only time will tell.

Good performance hampered by mechanical problems

It was a day of frustration for Bedistani driver Tim Bowen in the first race of this season of the AOOWC. On lap 45 of the 65-lap race, Bowen noticed a problem with the rear wing of the car causing him to have some steering issues, forcing his lap times up by about a second and a half and ultimately causing him to fall to 7th place - and he would likely have fallen further were it not for an intervening safety car.

"It's never a good feeling when you're out there driving much slower than everyone else, and it feels even worse when you can't do anything about it," Bowen said after the race. "But oh well, it's still early in the season, and Schwarz and Iobabao should still definitely be keeping an eye on me, 'cause I'm out to get 'em."

Modry "disappointed" to miss out
Janislav Modry has publicly spoken out at his disappointment about failing to secure the main driving seat for the Chacor-DR team from Kristjan Durant. Durant, who had widely not been expected to race in season two after his impressive stand-in NSF1 World Championship races as many expected he would sign permanently with LivEng Racing, drove a good race to finish 4th in the first event, despite qualifying in 9th.

Good pit strategy coupled with lucky timing of safety car periods meant that Durant was able to gain the places he needed; at one time he even led the race. However, uncharacteristic errors in the pits by Durant meant that he was slower than he could've been.

However, Modry isn't happy. He had expected, rightfully so, to be able to race more this season. "I'm definitely disappointed. I mean, full credit to Kristjan but I really expected to race more this year. My future remains committed to the Chacor-DR AOOWC team, but I need more opportunities."

AOWC Season Two, Off to a better start

Already things look brighter on the race circuit than they did last season. The doom and gloom of Rk-Mrs has been replaced by Fta-Pldi who seems to have a better handle on things.

In his first race of the season Fta-Pldi raced beautifully to move up the charts. He struggled in qualifying, coming into the race in 12th place but moved up the charts beautifully, finishing all the way in 6th place.

And he was held back by a conservative pit crew that cost him plenty of time. If he shaved off 8 seconds, to the time of the best driver of three stops he'd have finished 3rd and if he'd shaved off 14 seconds to the time of the worst driver with two stops he'd have finished second.

However nobody is displeased with the conservative crew or the sixth place finish. After all the troubles of last season a solid performance like that is very well recieved.

Fta-Pldi impresses again

If the theme for last racing season was Rk-Mrs's inability to finish races it looks like this year's theme might be Fta-Pldi being held back by his pit crew. Once again an overly cautious approach kept Fta-Pldi off the podium.

This time he finished fourth, but a mere second off of the top spot. Considering that he was next to last in terms of pit times for finishers, it meant that he raced brilliantly. He held the lead for fourteen laps, taking it on two separate occassions. Of course who knows how things would've turned out, but it's quite possible that with better pit work Fta-Pldi could have ended up first.

Team owner Ltr-Mn had some comments after the race. "Of course I'm disappointed to miss the podium. But I'm pleased as pumpkins with the start that Fta-Pldi is off to. He's displaying far more skill than Rk-Mrs ever did."

With Geisenfried's Schwarz winning the first two races, the affect on the strategy of the other racers is currently unknown. But one thing seems clear, Fta-Pldi is much more in the hunt than Rk-Mrs ever was.

Marquis out due to pitting error

Julian Marquis retired two-thirds of the way into an abysmal first race today in the second annual AOOWC today. The reason? His pit crew did not notice his tires were wets. The relevant staff have been disciplined and Marquis expects to be on top form next race.

Fta-Pldi

Fta-Pldi has been struggling in recent races, but still getting better results thank Rk-Mrs. There has been a much more sense of harmony this year, but too much passitivity from Fta-Pldi.

After crashing out on the third race of the season Fta-Pldi has mostly looked to avoid crashing the last two races, turning in 9th and 8th place finishes respectively. However these results are much less impressive when considering the number of finishers. In the most recent race he finished ahead of only one other racer who actually finished the race.

Although he currently sits tied for 6th, if he wants to finish high overall he must start to find better results and drive more aggresively.

Marquis Back On Top

Tip-top tuning and expert pitting decisions have placed Falcanian hotshot Julian Marquis back at the top of his game, blasting into first place at this weekend's race. Preliminary reports indicate he is confident for next weekend too. Could this be the start of another winning streak? Only time, and the Mathdon Expedient, will be able to tell.
