My name is Olivier and sometimes i pick my nose and eat it unsure.gif

After the "very successful" attempt from Vilita to start one, it's now time to restart it.

The rules:

- Any nation can enter, even the puppets.
- RP Bonus will enter into account, but it will not be very important(an increase of 0,2 rank max, which is not very significant)
- I will use my new hockey scorinator to scorinate the scores
- For the first cup, everybody will have the same rank

The cup will be hosted in the Magnificent nation of Oliverry in 3 Cities:

- Marshalliston, at the Pepsioli Stadium(named the Marshalliston Stadium before)
- Saint-Francois, at the Place des Anges
- Santa Jeanne, at the Beach Arena

Good luck everyone!

Nation sign-uped:

CODE

- Oliverry
- Limbrogidlia

Lamoni will sign-up.

I have somethings to clarify:

CODE

- I will finally base the ranks off the Cherry Cup. But for the second, the ranks will be based on both the Cherry Cup and the AOHC.
- Game rules:
  - 3 20 minute periods
  - If still tied, an unlimited overtime to decide who wins
  - tag-up offsides
  - no 2 line passes
  - automatic icing
  - NHL type rink
- Standings rules:
  - A win is worth 3 points
  - A loss is worth 0 point
  - An OT win is worth 2 points
  - An OT loss is worth 1 point

The format will be as follow:

8 teams: 2 groups of 4 teams: top 2 goes to the playoffs
9 teams: 3 groups of 3 teams: first advance to playoffs. Seconds will play a round robin. The 1st in the round-robin advances to playoffs
10 teams: 2 groups of 5 teams: first advances directly to semi-finals, seconds and thirds play a knockout match.
12 teams: 3 groups of 4 teams: 2 first teams advance to playoffs, Seconds play a round robin. The 2 firsts of the round robin advances to the next round
14 teams: 2 groups of 7 teams: Top 4 advances to the playoffs
15 teams: 3 groups of 5 teams: Same format as if there were 12 teams
16 teams: 4 groups of 4 teams: Top 2 advances to the playoffs

Even though I seriously doubt there will be more than 10 teams, I wanted to add more in case there are more teams

Hockey Canada drawn to Group A

Hockey Canada's top team will be at the Cherry Cup hosted this time in Kaze Progressa so the Hockey Canadian "B" team will be sent to represent the Hockey Canadians in an otherwise "Group of Death"

Vilita: Winners of the previous cup, Vilita is expected to perform well in this tournement. Always putting forth a solid team in almost every sport they play, Hockey just might be somethign they can build a dynasty around.

Oliverry: Another strong team which Hockey canada has been up against in the Cherry Cup, Oliverry can prove themselves to be incredibly dangerous in this tournement. They look like a good shot to win it all if they send a team looking like their Cherry Cup team.

Limbrogidlia Oliverry has possession of the tiny land of Limbrogidlia but that doesn't mean that the Limbrogidlians won't come to play. A good bet to be a dark horse in this tournement, Limbrogidlia might steal a few points from teams that need them.

Chacor Unknown to the Hockey Canadians in the Cherry Cup, Chacor is a complete mystery. A good team or not will depend on if they come to play the right or wrong game.

Lamoni draws group B

While the Hawks did well in the last AO hockey cup, they are thrown into a group of mostly unknowns in this one. The only other semi-familiar face in the group is Turori. Since the others are unknowns, the sportscasters are placing the race for the top spot in the group as being between the Hawks and Turori. With a free trip to the semis at stake, lets hope that Lamoni gets that spot.

The squad:

1 Fannin Bush, Goaltender
3 Fulton Martyn, Goaltender
4 Forsyth Marbell, Defense
5 Carlton Hampton, Defense
7 Jeffery Churchill, Defense
8 Xavier Ward, Defense
10 Ian Prichard, Defense
11 Jeffery Schmidt, Defense
12 Xavier Edwards, Defense
14 Matthew Sawyer, Defense
15 David Bowden, Forward
16 Victor Kraemer, Forward
17 Carlton Gilliam, Forward
18 Bob Anderson, Forward
22 Victor Adams, Forward
24 Gerald Douglas, Forward
25 Lawrence Bowden, Forward
26 Armand Darden, Forward

We won't argue with that

Pat Doyle led the way for the Hockey Canadians with a hattrick en route to a 3-1 win over Limbrogidlia. Doyle's Hattrick amazingly came in the last 2 minutes of the game which almost saw Limbrogidlia walk away with two points.

The first period didn't see much action besides big hits from Hockey Canadian defencemen Chris Armstrong and Travis Witt. They broke up several Limbrogidlian plays heading into the Hockey Canadian zone but all chances were ended by Witt who was playing exceptional.

The second period was no different for the Hockey Canadians or Limbrogidlians as the hitting kept up and intensity was all over the ice. Even the goalies felt the tension as Mike Foehring was penalized for a slashing call at the 5 minute mark of the period. Intermission didn't see any streakers because of the high glass and freezing temperatures.

The third period was nothing like the previous two. Limbrogidlia scored at the 4:39 mark when a Limbrogidlian forward took the puck on a powerplay passing it to a Limbrogidlian defenceman. A slapshot towards a crowd in front of Foehring tipped off a skate and into the back of the net.

Pat Doyle scored on a breakaway at 1:58 of the 3rd to even up the score at 1-1 when he put the puck under the bar above the Limbrogidlian goalie's shoulder. Then he scored at 1:08 when a giveaway in front of the Limbrogidlian net came right to Doyle who slapped the puck hard at the net. The puck hit the crossbar and in giving the Canucks the lead. Doyle sealed the game when Limbrogidlia pulled their goalie to even the score. Doyle broke out of the zone and on a breakaway to put the game away at :02.56. A faceoff and the game was done.

Hockey Canada plays Chacor next, who beat Oliverry 5-4 in OT. We hope the Canucks can win again.

After 2 matchdays, we see the clear domination of Hockey Canada in Group A and Turori in Group B. Limbrogidlia surprizingly is second, ahead of metropolis Oliverry, Chacor and Vilita. In Group B, nothing is decided yet as the 4 other teams have 2 or 1 point.

Hawks defeat Bettia in overtime

With a high powered slap shot into the upper left corner of the net, Lamoni's Armand Darden sealed the overtime victory for the Hawks. Before this however, it was a highly exciting match to watch, culminating into a 3-3 tie at the end of regulation. Lamonian goals at 20, 35, and 40 minutes into the match were replied with Bettian goals at 22, 30, and 32 minutes. Lamoni has no idea who it will face next, but it would be sweet indeed to snap the Turorian winning streak of two games as of the time of this writing.

Lamoni - 4 Bob Anderson (20, 35), Victor Adams (40), Armand Darden (OT)

Bettia - 3 (22, 30, 32)

Canucks pick up win over Chacor

After gaining top spot for the second consecutive day, Hockey Canada Canucks are dominating Group A. The funny thing is that the "B" team is playing. The win over Chacor yesterday gave them three points instead of the conditional two. Pat Doyle got two goals firmly establishing himself as the tournement's top scorer while Garret Rank and Nathan Millar got a goal each. Colin Way's stellar play between the pipes for Hockey Canada inspired the team to play well, especially today against hosts Oliverry.

Doyle opened the scoring on a breakaway while Rank ended up scoring on a tip-in on a powerplay. Millar scored on a powerplay while Doyle closed the game with a brilliant deke-play to beat the Chacor goalie knocking the water-bottle off the net and slamming into the glass.

Oliverry won't be easy, nor will Vilita. But a win here and a loss for Limbrogidlia could secure a playoff spot for the Canucks.

Milchama loses first game in AO hockey tourney looks for redemption in the second game

The Milchama Hockey Warriors lost their first game of the AO hockey tournament yesterday in Oliverry 4-3. Coach Jean Perron said, "Considering our team is a bunch of clones of real players who are playing in the Cherry Cup right now we could do a lot worse."

The game started out well for the Warriors who scored 2 goals in the first period. The first goal was scored by Daniel Erlich who deflected a shot by Raviv Bull at the 14 minute mark. The second goal was a little bit more exciting as Eli Sherbatov deked past 3 defenders before passing the puck off to Mikael Horowitz who easily put the second goal away to make it 2-0 to Milchama. The second period was a lot worse as the Hockey Warriors gave up 3 goals to be down 3-2. The goals were all scored by them so this newspaper has no idea who the goalscorers although we think number 21 was promanently involved. The lone third period was scored by Mikael Horowitz on a penalty shot. And in overtime the Hockey Warriors finally lost it as they could not stop the relentless Jastican attack. Final score Jastica 4-Milchama 3.

Hawks do it again

The Hawks defeated Jastica in overtime 6-5 to remain in second place in group B; and second in the entire tournament (with Hockey Canada and Turori each having 9 pts.). The win follows goals by Armand Darden, Lawrence Bowden, Gerald Douglas, Victor Adams, and Bob Anderson. It was a hard fought match, but it appears that experience; or luck, remained on with the Hawks. Lamoni STILL has no idea who we'll be facing next, but we still think that it would be sweet to halt the Turorians in their tracks. The close finish ensured a very exciting game, with Lawrence Bowden scoring the winning goal for the Hawks.

Lamoni - 6 Armand Darden (2), Lawrence Bowden (5, OT), Gerald Douglas (15), Victor Adams (30), Bob Anderson (60)

Jastica - 5 (20, 25, 30, 35, 40)

Hawks clinch knockouts spot

With a 5-4 win against Milchama, the Hawks have clinched a knockouts birth, and are within two points of taking first place in Group B. It is also suspected that Turori will be the Hawks next opponent, and a win against them would place them in first place going into the knockouts. Either way, the Hawks have a pretty good looking knockout picture, and should go far. Armand Darden even scored a hat trick in the game.

Lamoni - 5 Armand Darden (5, 17, 28), Victor Kraemer (30), Rob Anderson (57)

Milchama - 4 (40, 55, 58, 59)

Thanks to everyone for your participation. It's now time to give the trophys:

The "-explicitive removed- the Defense, I don't need it to win" award goes to Lamoni, scoring 19 goals and allowing 12.

The "How da hell we got eliminated, efs were supposed to give us every win" award goes to host nation Oliverry.

The "What is Offense?" award goes to Rejistania. Wait, this nation is not in the tournament and even not in AO, so it goes to Turori, scoring 8 goals and allowing 7 goals.

The "We are the champions and losing is punishable of lapiding" award is given to Hockey Canada, going on a 4 games without losing steak.

The "What is this Overtime thingy?" Award goes to Vilita, Turori and Hockey Canada.

Now time for the Knockout game matchup

Group A:
Limbrogidlia vs Vilita

The Winner of this game will play against Lamoni

Group B:

The Winner of this game will play against Hockey Canada

Hawks take first, wait for the semis

The Hawks took out Turori 4-0 in their final group stage match, placing them in first in group B; and giving them a free ride to the semi-finals to face either Vilita or Limbrogidlia. It seems that the Lamonian betting authorities were correct so far when they predicted that the Hawks would do well in this hockey league.

Lamonian hockey star Armand Darden scored another hat trick in this match, giving him another one for his growing collection. Darden plays for the Nephi Eagles team, and is responsible for getting his struggling team into the Lamonian hockey playoffs almost singlehandedly. Victor Adams scored the remaining goal, but victory had already been assured by the Lamonian defense, which actually did something useful for once in the tournament. FINALLY.

Lamoni - 4 Armand Darden (20, 23, 26), Victor Adams (52)

Turori - 0

Lamoni faces Vilita

The whole Lamonian team was watching the match between Vilita and Limbrogidlia, both to see how well each team performed on the ice, and to see who the Hawks would face the next day.

Of course, that is not all that the Hawks did this day. The defense really got a chewing out for their performance during the group stages, and faced a long, tiring, set of exercises intended to make them perform better for the knockout stages. If all goes well, Lamoni will face the winner of the Hockey Canada/Turori match, and Lamonian betting authorities speculate that Hockey Canada will most likely win that match.

The Israelis despite getting into the Cherry Cup with the exact same squad were eliminated from contention to win the 2nd AO Ice Hockey Championship after winning one game and losing 3. Luckily thanks to the niceness the players can get even more exhausted as they play in the Losers Cup which is also in Oliverry. Coach Jean Perron said, "This group will no longer represent in this AO tournament we will now focus all our energies on the Cherry Cup." This means that the Milchama team will play the U16 hockey team. Nothing is expected from the kids they are just relishing the oppurtunity Team Captain C (The Milchama Hockey Federation does not want the kids getting and thus is preventing names from going public) said, "We just want to have fun out there. We're expecting to lose actually we're expecting to lose by a lot but the goal right now is to have fun and gain expierience so that in 3 Cherry Cups we will be able to play at the highest level."

General comments

In the finals, we have 2 good teams. Hockey Canada, with their "B" team, is dominating this cup, winning every game with a big margin, will go up against Vilita, the AO Hockey Cup's defending champions. The favourite team is, of course, Hockey Canada, but, surprises kept going in this tournament. For 3rd place game, we'll have Lamoni, which finished 1st in Group B, against Turori, Vilita's colony. Who will win, that is the question, but it is suspected that Lamoni is the favourite. In the game for 5th place, the surprise came from the fact that Limbrogidlia won, so they finished 5th.

In Losers Cup, Oliverry is royally dominating, being confirmated of a 2nd place as the worst possibility. Both Chacor and Milchama have a chance to finish first as they go against in next match. The main obstacle would be the goal difference that Oliverry has(+3) compared to their own(Milchama has -1 and Chacor +1).

Hawks lose to Vilita, face Turori for 3rd

The Hawks lost to Vilita 5-4 today, but will face Turori next for the 3rd place game. Lamoni is expected to the be the favorite of the upcoming match, as they defeated Turori 4-0 in the last match between these teams. The oddmakers prediction that the Hawks would do well in this tournament has borne fruit, and they are setting 5 to 1 odds on Lamoni winning the 3rd place match.

Lamoni - 4 Armand Darden (5, 15), Lawrence Bowden (10, 20)

Vilita - 5 (1, 5, 6, 7, 8)

Ice Cats into Second Final

For the second time in just two attempts the Vilita Ice Cats have made it to the final of the Atlantian Oceania Hockey Cup! The Vilita Ice Cats are the defending champion of the cup, originally held in Yeaddin, Vilita and now being reincarnated in Oliverry. The Vilitan's have welcomed the Oliverrian presence, and made particularly mince work of the Oliverrian colony of Limbrogidlia, a 5-1 thrashing in the Quarter Final round that set up an epic battle with Lamoni. Apparently the Ice Cats came out like hawks themselves striking 5 times in the opening 8 minutes of the game, before coughing up to take a 5-4 lead into the first intermission. From then on the match was a stalement, for one of the most excitingly dull 5-4 results in Atlanian Oceania history.

The win sets up a cracking tie with Hockey Canada in the final matchup where Vilita will be put to the test as to whether or not they can retain their title as the best Hockey Team in Atlantian Oceania (Yea because the Rayzors are puss whacks and dwarves are panzies). It will not be easy however, as Vilita has already squared off with Hockey Canada once this cup in the Group Stage, coming up short in onw of many 5-4 results.

Milchama get 2nd in Loser's Cup feel happy about future

The Milchama U16 Hockey Team did very well in the "Loser's Cup" getting two wins out of 3 games and finished in 2nd place in the Loser's Cup. Coach Boris said something in Hebrew which was ruffly translated to this, "They are ******* good I really like their ******* spirit it's great they will make a ********* great hockey team one day." We don't understand why people play for him but the kids seem to like him and whatever he speaks Russian.
