| To all nations of Atlantian Oceania: In the interest of strengthening the spirit of international competition, the Democratic States of West Ainorpisp and the the Confederacy of East Ainorpisp would like to officially announce our bid to host a second attempt at a Summer Olympic games. We can assure all participants that there would be no repeat of what happened to the first Olympiad in Avid-Diord. Security at a Sarmatia Olympiad would be the tightest the region has seen, and the AAF will patrol the skies, the Navy the waves, and ground security forces everything in between 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our athletic facilities are all in top-notch form and we are certain they would be more than adequite for the Games of the Second Olympiad. Sarmatia is the capitol of the DSWA, but events would take place in cities around the capital as well, including some in the Confederacy. With parts of the region in turmoil, we hope to help display the better angels of human nature through hosting the Games. Since the first summer Olympics were never concluded, we want to rectify history by holding a complete AO Olympiad. Thank you for your consideration and hopefully support and participation. | Since it has officially been 48 hours since our bid was entered and since Vilita responded, and there have been no contesting bids, we are happy to announce that the Sarmatia 2008 games are official! All nations interested in participating in the Games of the Second (summer) AOlympiad are encouraged to sign up. A signup thread with a list of proposed events for the Games will be posted immediately. |
