Hypocria is always interested in opening diplomatic relations with other nations in the region and we would be delighted to send an ambassador to Bettia.

An embassy from your great nation would be more than welcome in our own capital, Hypocrium.

President Stone was upbeat as he boarded his Presidential Plane. Not only was he going to get some very rare time off, but he looked forward to seeing what Bettia was like. Hearing of how the Xilean President was kidnapped, the aircrew had been kept under gaurd, so as to not allow any 'substitutions.' As the plane lifted off the runway, it's escort of F/A-22H fighter-bombers also took to the air. After all, it would not do to have the Free Republic's President be shot down by enemies. Advance word had been sent to Bettia of Stone's trip.

"Right, are we are set for President Stone's visit?"

"Yeah, pretty much. There's still one or two details in the itinerary to iron out."

"Uh huh."

"Well, he's picked a good time to come here, what with it being Jubilee Day and all. So obviously a grandstand view of our grand street party is in order."

"Good, good. What else?"

"Apparently he's looking for a bit of piece and quiet, so a trip up to the highlands would be a good idea. Maybe a spot of Arora-spotting? They can be pretty tricky to find in amongst all that heather. Should be good for a laugh."

"Heh. Arora-spotting. Like it... Ooh, that reminds me. I had a message from the managing director of Lorshill Safari Park yesterday, wondering if I could cadge a few lions from the Nedalians to replace the ones that were... ahem... lost. You know, kind of a freidnship gesture. Maybe we could give them a few aroras. Could you sort that out?"

"Okay Mr President sir. I get onto it as soon as possible. Right, now where did I put that novelty hat?"

"Novelty hat?"

"It's my boy's birthday party today."

"Oh thats good. For a moment there I thought you were going wierd on me."

"Sir! Sir!"

"What is it?"

"I've just received this telegram from the Foreign Ministry. They've finally got round to providing a list of ambassadors."

"About bloody time. Lets see it..."

CODE
List of Prospective Ambassadors

Nedalia - Abdul Brockworth
Xile - John Hanson
Khazaron - Mustafa Winton
Abattior - Justin Harun
Starblaydia - Anwar Longlevens
Lamoni - Gary Shuttlewood
Latao - Aisha Phillips
Hypocria - Amin Robson
Lesser Ribena - Bertram Ta'if

"Looks okay to me. Let these countries know that we'll be sending our staff out shortly."

"Hmm... they probably already know."

"How?"

"I dare say some of them will be following this conversation as it happens."

"Well how on earth is that possible?"

"Not entirely sure. It's probably the Vilitans with their orbital spy station or something."

"Speaking of which, I'm suprised Vilita haven't indicated whether they would want to exchange ambassadors or not. Didn't they reply to our open letter?"

"We did receive some sort of reponse, but they seemed more concerned with Latao's flag more than anything else."

President Stone's plane had made it to Bettia, and was on final approach. Getting a copy of the prospective intinerary from his Vremya (the Lamonian version of the Secret Service, they wear all black unis with the Lamonian flag over their hearts) gaurds; he looked it over.

'Let's see here... a street party, and Arora spotting. This should be good.'

President Stone was also told that the Lamonian ambassador to Bettia had been approved. 'Better and better,' he thought.

After the plane had touched down and it was confirmed that there were no security problems, President Stone walked down the jetway, and waited for the welcoming ceremony.
