People:

Almost all Arrozans are descended from immigrants, who came to the land during either the Great Diaspora or the Land Rush of 827. However after generations of intermixing, most citizens have become distinctly Arrozan, sharing racial traits with almost all the other countries of Atlantic Oceania. Notable distinctions include the Oliverrian francophone community on Grand Isle. Due to the mixing of racial traits, Arroza does not categorize citizens by race at all, only by their nation of ancestry.

Arrozan: 88.6%
Oliverrian: 4.3%
First Nations: 3.7%
All Others: >1% each

Languages:

National Language: Standard English
Accepted Languages/Dialects: Arrozan English, Tejas, Acadienne

Tejas can best be described as a mixture of Spanish and English. Verbs and verb usage are normally done in the Spanish style, while nouns and adjectives are normally done in an English style. It is mainly spoken in Llanura and the southern portions of Petrol Harbor. Acadienne is an offshoot of the Cajun dialect of French, leavened with a large amount of borrowed English words. 90% of Acadienne speakers live in Evangeline, with the vast majority of them coming from Francophone nations Septentrionia and Oliverry.

Provinces get one member to the senate for each five million people in their province, along with each state and the Capitol District getting ten members apiece. Members are elected by the parliamentary system by province. The four major parties are listed below:

Fiscal Conservative Party: 40 Seats

Judicial Branch:

They run the courts and decide laws and punishments. The highest court in Arroza is the National Court, which sees only select cases and is made up of 7 long-serving judges.

Military:

The Arrozan Navy controls all branches of the military. Minor branches of the Navy include the Amphibious Brigades, which function both as the army and as an amphibious force; the Air Corps; and the Shore Patrol. The main branch of the Navy is the Open Sea Fleets which defend the nation from threats from outside the islands. The current status of the fleet is in some disrepair, and studies are currently under way on how to modernize the fleet.

Religion:

There is no state religion, but the dominant religion of Arroza is Evangelical Baptist. Catholics hold a majority in the two non-standard provinces, but in general religion in the country is something to be kept to yourself and something to spread by the example of living a virtuous life, not through the government.

Economy:

Arroza's economy has slowly been trying to change from a base-level manufacturing and material provider to a higher level service provider and tourist destination. The Tourism half has worked quite well, with Atalanta, Huracan and the Seclusion Coast being vacation destinations. But the vast majority of Arroza's economic might comes from being able to export from their fertile fields and seas.
