Reformations in Latao
After the disaster of the war, we have to restart at zero. “Zero” means in that kind, that Latao’s people want a new government, based on Latao’s well-known and proofed constitution, that defines a federalist state with direct democracy, based on three institutions.
Thank god, that the economy did not take that much damage and that succeeded to regenerate its power and performance quite well.
After the violent incident of the past, the people of Latao worked hard to make their beloved homeland to one of the richest nations in the region.
The main responsibility of the new government shall be to support and boost the economy with the aim of making Latao the richest nation in Atlantian Oceania. Bedistan is currently the only but strongest rival in the global market of Latao – therefore commerce and economy requires the most attention.
Our second mission shall be to keep and increase the life standards for our people. Latao has received quite good reports from the United Nations regarding civil rights and political freedom.
Finally, the third task is to increase military funding to ensure Latao and its interests are protected and guaranteed in the world.
Of course, the normalization of international relations is also a task on the agenda. We want to point out, that the Confederacy of Latao still has good relations with most countries in Oceania and that we are interested in fixing things with “lesser involved nations” such as Sarzonia.
Concerning the fact, that Starblaydia was a good friendly nation to Latao before Tiberius Starblayde suddenly wanted to smell blood, turned into a merciless killer and decided to slaughter thousands of honorable Latin people – in the name of “disarming a rogue state” – while another former friend, named Matt Stone of Lamoni sliced the knife into our back in the darkest hour of our nation – and finally our own UN delegate of that time, the nation of Abattoir, with which Latao never had any incidents, dropped its bombs onto innocent Latin people – it is difficult for us to return to normality.
Behind all these facts, we are not yet ready to normalize our relations with these nations and we set on the time to heal our wounds.
As an optical sign, the country also changed its official flag to highlight the new great era of peace and prosperity. The flag is also a clear message to these countries to stop their aggressions against the sovereign nation of Latao.
It is also planned to found an associated protectorate-state “Latao-Nyssa” for the island in the Latin waters south-east to Latao’s mainland, which currently is in status of a “special autonomy zone”. The Latao NEC will release further information regarding Nyssa in the next days. |
