Um the Poll says it all....

good idea

I´m as much a mad footy fan as the next but I just don´t see the need for an AOCAF every month, and I don´t see how people wouldn´t get bored. I figure if we delay it people will be more excited to participate next time because of the longer gap; otherwise AOCAFs will be considered just routine instead of a big deal (maybe they already are?).

I agree.

I don't really care so long as we keep the AOCAF scheduled in the gap between cups. Because if the AOCAF is competing against the WC the WC wins.

So should we do 1 AOCAF every other World Cup?

Posted by: Lamoni May 22 2007, 02:56 AM
No, do 1 AOCAF between each WC.

Looks like Star doesn't care anymore.

I'd favour a delay, since I'd have a lot more free time to participate in a month.

How often does the World Cup take place in real time?

Posted by: Manhattan Prime May 26 2007, 07:54 AM
If you mean the football world cup, it's every 4 years

Posted by: Bazalonia May 26 2007, 10:39 AM
If you mean how long the NSWorld Cup ... then approximately once a month..

The AOCAF has usually been held at the same time as the pre-WC for newbies event (BoF)

Posted by: Az-cz May 26 2007, 10:27 PM
Well now that the WC is starting I definitely think we should push off the start of the AOCAF until after the WC.

Posted by: Bazalonia May 27 2007, 01:49 AM
Yes, particularily since It looks like I'm going to be hosting the both of them.

Posted by: Nojika May 27 2007, 11:03 PM
I did mean the NSWorld Cup. And I believe that the competitions should be held at different times, otherwise, those nations that participate in the NSWorld Cup should be penalized in some way for not having their "A" team play in the AOCAF.

But that's just my opinion...

Baz,

If you'd like I could probably host AOCAF 20. I held off bidding because I thought it would be before WC35, but if it's after WC35 I am interested and capable of doing it.

No there is no reason for a penalty. AOCAF was founded because of the World Cup not the other way around

Anyway the point of sending the B team is to keep it consistent with reality so that the same team of players isn't going from country to country to play footie.

I liked the AOCAF in the middle of world cups deal but apparently that is gone which is unfortunate.

Well, you can bid for it...

We'll have a vote next time.

My poor baby....

OK it's been a month... or now is AOCL going to go before AOCAF starts?

World Cup 35 is still ongoing—it should be finished in just over a week. The AOCAF will probably start shortly after that.

OK, thanks... I never find the interest to venture over to the wastelands of the Jolt message board (even if it is the 'official' one).

Perhaps it would be best if we started the bidding process now? Does anyone know how many teams we're up to at this point?
