The floodlights are extinguished, and the spotlight concentrates on a man, dressed all in laser blue. He presses his lips to a horn that is in his hand, and blows. The stadium light back up, and from each corner, people dressed in blue, black, red, yellow, and green emerge from all corners of the stadium, and congregate in five groups around the single figure. The groups break, form five groups of their own colours, and after much formative dancing, form the Olympic Rings.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the First Olympic Games of Atlantian Oceania. Welcome to Krytenia. Welcome, to AVID-DIORD!"

As the original dancers exit, two wire framed structures are wheeled into the stadium, surrounded by groups of children, while a third group drapes a long strip of blue fabric down the centre of the stadium.

"The cities of Avidia and Diord grew apart, on opposite sides of the river. But two hundred years ago, the first steps of unity were taken."

The children begin to slot shapes into the wire frames on each side of the "river", forming a bridge. Each side takes one half of the keystone, and gets one group of children to climb to the edge of the bridge, where the two halves are fitted together to form the keystone. This is then placed to complete the bridge. The children then begin to run, skip, dance etc over the bridge, whilst being joined by even more children.

A taller figure, dressed in flowing white robes, then approaches the bridge. She strides to the top of the bridge, the children congregated around the bridge. The figure is Juanita Morris, famed Krytenian diva. She sings the Krytenian National Anthem, "Land Of The People", as the Sky Blue Glory is raised on one of the flagpoles.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, please be upstanding for the Olympic Flag."

The huge banner is carried into the stadium at shoulder-height by a dozen Avid-Diord firemen, wearing crisp white suits, shirts and ties. It is given a lap of honour around the stadium, before being raised on a much higher flagpole while the Elliston Children's Choir sings the Olympic Hymn. As the final bars of the hymn are sung, the crowd breaks into rapturous applause.

"And now, the Athletes of the Olympic Games!"

The stadium is cleared of performers to make way for the athletes' entry. A podium is placed in the centre of the stadium area.

"Vilithe. Vilita!"
As Regional Founders, Vilita are given the honour of entering the stadium first.

"Abattoir. Abattoir!"
Each country comes out in alphabetical order. Near neighbours Abattoir are the first of these.

"Pisipé d'Ainoure. Ainorpisp!"
The Ainorpisp team, welcomed especially by the Krytenian Minister for Sport and The Arts on arrival in the country, enter to a rousing reception,
flashbulbs popping everywhere.

"Aquilaine. Aquiliana!"
Sharp suits for the fourth team into the arena, as well as frantic waving at the many TV cameras.

"Chacour. Chacor!"
The Chacori team also enjoye a very warm reception from an excited Krytenian crowd.

"Crystilakere. Crystilakere!"
Massive support for another near neighbour, and many Crystili flags waved by the crowd at this point.

"Druides Flexsys de Cefn. Flexsys Cefn Druids!"
A small team from the tiny Druidish province on the shores of Lake Bekk.

"Lamounie. Lamoni!"
UN Delegate nation Lamoni also sending a surprisingly small team, but a well supported one.

"Druides Flexsys d'IGNO. NEWI Cefn Druids!"
Huge Druidish support, and the NEWI team milk it for all its worth.

"Nojique. Nojika!"
The stadium roars for the Nojikan team, coming as they have from the other side of Xile, an achievement in itself.

"Bretagnique Nouveau. Nova Britannicus!"
Just a football team for the Britannics, and the youngest athlete of the Games - Nick Cavaletti, aged just fifteen.

"PĂ©driane. Pedriana!"
Three-quarters of the way through the parade, cameras still flashing like mad.

"Stelblaidie. Starblaydia!"
Another great cheer, this time for the popular Starblaydi team.

"Tourourie. Turori!"
The Vilitan Colony step into the stadium with pride.

"Ouapa-Counete. Wapahkoneta!"
The island nation entering to almost a funereal hush, the crowd waiting for the final team...

"Croitenie. KRYTENIA!"
The stadium roof is almost blown clear off as the host nation enters. Resplendent in sky blue and red, the Krytenians beam as they walk round the stadium.

With all the athletes in the stadium, the Olympic Oaths are taken. Horacio Scheiern of Pedriana does the honours for the athletes, whilst boxing judge Mark Oliaschuk of Krytenia is chosen to take the Officials' Oath.

And then, the highlight of the evening: the lighting of the Olympic Flame. The torch is carried into the stadium by Krytenian football legend Kelvin Muniz, and he runs the length of the stadium to the base of the steps leading to the flame cauldron. There he lights torches held by the three men whose duty it is to light the Flame itself . The three men are all competing in the Olympics, and each represents one third of the Olympic Motto (Citius, Altius, Fortius - Faster, Higher, Stronger): 100m swimmer Paul Ibarov, pole vaulter Scott O'Grady, and boxer Don Reyes. The three athletes climb the staircase, and light the cauldron, which is then hydraulically lifted to its position high above the Olympic Stadium.

All that was left was for Chairman Everton Davis to officially open the Games, and with a short speech, he duly obliged.

The Games were finally underway.

With this year's Team Starblaydia suits on, the AOlympic team walk joyously round the Stadium. In Purple jackets with black Pants and white Shirts, most of the team are carrying video or still cameras as they capture their first moment of glory.

At the head of the group, behind the Krytenian in national dress carrying the sign with "Stelblaidie - Starblaydia" on it, is the Boxer Godwin Ezeobi who carries the flag in one hand, waving it around every so often.

The random close-ups on the group of shiny, happy athletes includes football star Simeone Di Bradini, the powerful rowing teams and the myriad of athletes taking pictures of the crowd and the stadium. They were looking forward to a great games and, hopefully, a healthy collection of memories, stories and medals to take back home.

Coming in after Flexsys Cefn Druids, the Lamoni delegation comes in their suits of red jackets, blue pants, and the with the rest of the Lamoni flag emblazoned on their chests. On the back, each athlete's name is embroidered in yellow, giving the athletes something to take back with them, even if they don't win a medal. Behind the Krytenian escort holding the sign saying "Lamounie-Lamoni," is Lamoni boxing legend Tyrone Wilson. It is his honor to display the Lamoni national flag, with the rest of the team following behind.

Though Lamoni is sending a small team (partly due to uneasiness about the South Cove conflict), it is expected that Lamoni will win a good share of medals for a team of it's size. Each of these athletes have gone through years of vigorous training, and each one of them is a giant in Lamoni sports.

The Pedrian contingent, one hundred and sixty-five strong, formed a sea of green and white, dwarfing the Nova Britannican football team that had marched ahead of them. Being fairly new to the region, many of the nations were still somewhat unfamiliar with Pedriana, but there was certainly a fair amount of enthusiasm, especially since the AOlympians had successfully made it with the ongoing Old Babylonian raids in the northern half of the nation. After the march of the nations, cyclist Horacio Scheiern received the honor of taking the Athletes' Oath.

With participants in every one of the 34 events, fans are optimistic that Pedriana will be able to take away multiple medals, hopefully including a few golds.
