AO's UN Delegateship is not a dictatorship. Lamoni knows this. We wouldn't be working to get re-elected if we thought that it was, eh? wink.gif

While I can and will (if re-elected) work to help AO members to post more on the regional message boards, I also feel that this is not a job that JUST the delegate should have. I would take suggestions from all AO member nations on this subject, because I do not believe that I am the only one in the region that can come up with them (suggestions).

It has been noted that the regional council has yet to hold a session under it's new charter (which I wrote). I would attempt to convene a meeting (via RP), and would work to create new opportunities for positions that will be won by election (giving you all something to try to get).

I would work with Vilita (Founder) and Starblaydia (AORDO Chief) to attract new members to AO. This would allow more chances for the regional message boards to be used, as well as maintaining regional interest.

I would also maintain the practice of voting in the UN based on regional vote on UN Resolutions. This allows the member nations of AO to have a voice on issues that affect them both domestically and internationally.

Was just saying that if noone ever ran against you it would be kind of like a dictatorship ;-).

I would also like to state that before Lamoni took action in writing a Regional Council charter, I was the driving force in getting it re-implemented. This is also the case with the AORDO, and I did write charters for both of them. In fact, the AORDO charter was recieved quite favorably and would have been implemented soon, but I believe that Starblaydia's system is working quite well at the moment.

I would like to continue this tradition of trying to bring this game closer to the players.

Lamoni is gratified that Xile is acknowledging our accomplishments as UN Delegate. However, we still feel that there is more for us to do, and that Lamoni also has a clear plan to address these problems.

It is known that Xile is not popular in AO after 'certain intemperate actions' (no, i'm not bashing Xile), and that could well work against a UN Delegate. Nations have to trust that their UN Delegate is working on their behalf.

I may have alienated a few nations due to my role-playing, but according to the way the UN delegate acts under our current system, my role-playing doesn't really matter at all. I do want to change this however, and will address it with my role-playing if I am made regional delegate.

I discussed the opportunity for people to gain positions in my charter for the regional council, and expressed why I believed this was necessary for the role-playing characteristics of the game. We need something to strive for here besides more land and the best soccer team. Don't get me wrong, our sports are great, but I think we can go much farther than this.

Of course getting new members to the region would be great, but it doesn't really confront a larger problem. What are these new members going to do when they get here? Are they just going to sit idle in the forums as our current members are doing? If anyone hasn't noticed, a good portion of the role-playing outside of sports that does happen in our region is initiated by myself or Abattoir. This is really what I was trying to get to happen with my 'intemperate actions', not alienate nations. I want not only more posting in the forums, but a more involved system for us to do things with.

For instance, I have mentioned intra-regional organizations. These can be specific sections of the Regional Council, or just loose alliances trying to gain support for their cause. (Association for the Progressment of Socialism, perhaps?) The Regional Council and AORDO could function together, not be isolated from one another. The council could perhaps allocate funding for the building of new warships. Trade relationships can become a factor in the game. There will be many other levels for anyone to get involved in.

It is not hard to work on behalf of the nations of the region when all you do is vote according to their opinion. I want to bring more to the region than this. I have very specific ideas to get these things carried out, and hope the region would like to see them implemented.

Would it really suprise you all that much to learn that I want to do (relatively) the same things that you do (as outlined in your campaign)?

Probably not. I'm sure many people in the region have thought up ways of 'spicing' this thing up some. Looks like we might be in good hands either way wink.gif
