Posted by: Bazalonia May 28 2006, 06:02 AM
With recent increase in Bazalonia's involvement both in regional and international affairs on a larger scale, The Bazalonian Prime Minister. Stephen Hawdon was thinking out loud to himself. "I think it's about time I actually visited some of our neighbours" and Aide heard him and said "You mean, the Pikes? You have never got on well with the Pikes."

"No, I mean, Bazalonia's neighbours... the other nations in Atlantian Oceania."

"Oh... you know I could see if I can arrange something for you."

"Oh, really? That would be great."

"Um... what about SAAS nations?

"Yes, them too, maybe we could ease some tensions, or something."

... Later that day the following message was sent to all nations in Atlantian Oceania ...

OOC: I'm still accepting, but I'd thought I'd get started with the visiting.

On the day arranged the Bazalonian Diplomatic Plane, BAZ-001, over Nedalia and up into Krytenia. Omboard was the Bazalonian Prime Minister, Stephen Hawdon and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Richard Menszae, as well as a number of Sundry aides and security.

"This is BAZ-001, requesting clearance to land, over."

Posted by: Krytenia May 28 2006, 06:06 PM
"Bravo Alpha Zulu 001, this is Tower Control. Please follow the indicated flight path and land on runway two-seven at your earliest convenience. A delegation is waiting at Gate 101 at your earliest convenience. Over."

To call Gate 101 a "gate" was, strictly speaking, a misnomer. It was, in effect, a VIP parking bay for aeroplanes; on the ground near the large white box painted onto the tarmac was a limousine bearing the Bazalonian tricolour and the Sky Blue Glory, and several other vehicles.

Waiting in the main car was Andrew Firman, sipping a glass of iced mineral water and eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Bazalonians. "I love my job," he thought as he took another sip, "you meet pretty much everyone."

....

In Krytenia, the plane landed with no hassles following the directions of Tower Control, stopping at gate 101. The door of the plane was unlocked and slid open, the stairs in the plane where extended down. A few members of the Bazalonian Federal Police, Protection Unit exited the plane, assessed the situation then went back in.

The Prime Minister, Stephen Hawdon, went down followed closely behind the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Richard Menszae. The BFP protection unit exited the plane, some went to liase with the Krytenian security, others milled around the Prime Minister, looking for all manner of security threats.

From: Harry Livingston, Liverpool England Senior Advisor on Chacoran External Affairs

Dear Sir,
Warmest greetings. Prime Minister Thomas Douglas would be most pleased to welcome Mr. Stephen Hawdon to Chacor personally; however as he is also the Prime Minister of Liverpool England (trust us, it's complicated), he is currently tending to matters before the Supreme Court of The Heartland. However, Deputy Prime Minister James Martin-Gibson will be happy to receive Mr. Hawdon.

I shall also be on hand, as will Yuri Noble, the incoming Chacoran Foreign Affairs Minister.

The Prime Minister, Stephen Hawdon, gladly accepts the meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister James Martin-Gibson. While also wishing to pass on a regret to the Prime Minister Thomas Douglas, that he would be unable to meet him on this occasion but hopes that there might be a time in the near future where we could meet. Attached to this message are a list of dates that the Prime Minister of Bazalonia is able to visit. Please indicate which one will suit you the most and I will be waiting for a response.

Thank you.

OOC: I'm going to try and keep these visits fairly short ( in terms of post count and time), but please note to do this the Krytenia viisit will probably be longer than any other not for any other reason but for establishing an IC pattern that can be used. and to help with identifing who's up next and how long it is until I get around to you I will put a little update at each of posts, updating the status of the tour... adding more people as they come.. etc...

The Krytenian security entourage ushered the Bazalonian delegation into the various cars, Messrs. Menszae and Hawton getting the "top table" - the Minister's limo.

"Good morning, gentlemen," he beamed, "I've read the itinerary, all the relevant security is in place. Now, there is a certain lady who's anxious to meet you..."

Posted by: Bazalonia May 29 2006, 05:52 PM
President Domasca.... he had seen her on the various international news channels that the government of Bazalonia subscribes to, and was very eager to meet her.

This was after all the first foreign visit of the Prime Minister, and it was to an SAAS nation, the prime minister chuckled to himself at this thought before he replied to the comment made by the Minister of Regional and Foreign Affairs.

"And I'm looking forward to meeting her." he said ...

the rest of the drive was fairly quiet as the prime minister tried to calm the nerves in his stomach and tried to remember what it was that he was meant to say...

Posted by: Krytenia May 31 2006, 03:06 AM
BZZZZZ!

President Domasca sat at a roundish table surrounded by sofas at the front of her office. "Yes," she enquired, "what is it now?"

A voice spluttered over the intercom. "The Bazalonian Prime Minister is here to see you."

"Excellent. Show him in."

Posted by: Bazalonia May 31 2006, 03:35 AM
The Prime Minister went in alone to the presidents office, despite the protection details objections.

"If anything's going to happen it's not going to happen there, and anyway, it'll give us a chance to have a less formal and a more friendly conversation." the Prime Minister had told the BFP who where hanging around the car.

"Thank you for letting me visit, one things for sure Krytenia sure doesn't muck around. Just as soon as I sent the communique it seemed I got a reply."

Said Stephen shaking the presidents hand with a smile.

Posted by: Krytenia Jun 1 2006, 02:50 PM
"Well, I'm going to admit, I have an ulterior motive for bringing you here. As you know, there's been...changes in Starblaydia. And I don't trust this Viannor woman. Not even a little bit. And, to be honest, I think we need to show our distrust.

Mr Hawdon, the United Provinces wish to leave the SAAS and join the Strategic Defence League."

"The PM of Bazalonia wants to come visit us."

"Wow..." said Stephen

"You distrust Viannor so much that you feel that even though you are currently a member of the SAAS that it won't protect you against her?"

... Stephen waited for confirmation and then continued

"A nation can only join the SDL after a meeting of the council, I can arrange for one, I presume you want this to be a secret? oh and what about your minister for Regional and Foreign Affairs. Do you trust him enough if he where to represent Krytenia at this meeting?"

"A trade agreement?" Dominique smiled at the proposition. "We've always been advocates of free trade. I don't see why we can't have a completely transparent and tariff-free agreement of trade between our nations. It would certainly be something of mutual benifit, wouldn't you say?"

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 3 2006, 11:49 PM
"I really think that this could help both our economies, and I will certainly put my effort behind such an arrangement. Of course, relevant quarantine and other issues will still have to be settled. But that will be for DFAT and I presume MORFA to nut out the details between them. The minor parties in the Bazalonian government can be a real pain on the occasion for the government but generally I find it very beneficial for someone to give an alternative view, raises things that may not have been nought to my attention otherwise. I can't be certain it will pass but as long as it will be good for both nations then I can't see the minor parties being a real problem this time."

With business finished with, Domasca spent the rest of Hawdon's visit doing pretty much anything other than talk shop. She showed him the magnificent architecture of the Avidia Guildhall; gave him a VIP tour of the Isserson Stadium; and the University of Ousevale proffered an honorary politics degree on him (a special amber, white, and black mortarboard was presented to him to mark the occasion.

All in all, the two leaders had made a lot of headway towards a strong relationship between their neighbours. Just how strong is a matter for the rumour mill; night staff at the Presidential Palace could have sworn blind they heard a lot of creaking bedsprings from Dominique's state bedroom that night...

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 5 2006, 07:46 PM
The Krytenian visit had been very successful on a diplomatic front and on a more personal front as well....

Now it was onto Oliverry...

The Bazalonian entouraged arrived to their plane and after th necessary security checks the Bravo Alpha Zulu 001 took to the skies and headed to the east over the continent and over the sea and into Oliverian airspace

"This is Brazo-Alpha-Zulu 001. Requesting clearance to land."

Posted by: Septentrionia Jun 5 2006, 08:50 PM
"This is Aéroport International de Marshalliston Tower Control. Bravo Alpha Zulu 101, landing authorization accorded on runway 1-8. A delegation of Oliverrians are waiting for you in VIP section 2. Just park your airplane in it: this section has been reserved for you for the totality of the journey in Oliverry. Good day"

VIP Section 2 is a kind of Hangar, but with a special exit for VIP people. It also has its own bar and restauration service. Outside, a limousine was awaiting for Mr. Hawdon. Four people were in it: Jioulit Twaxlit, John Laval, Jonathan Dubé and Jonas Delord...

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 5 2006, 09:41 PM
The plane landed in section 2 and the usual thinks such as security checks where made.

Prime Minister Hawdon arrived with the Minister of Forgeign Affairs and Trade, Richard Menszae. The two man exited the hangar and entered the Limo waiting for them..

"Good day Gentlemen." Said the prime minister. "This is my minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Richard Menszae." he said indicating the Richard. Our interrepter will find us once official duties cease.

Hi Mr. Hawdon and Menszae. I'm happy that we can now meet in other ways than letters and such. Please let me present mself: Jioulit Txawlit, the new president of Oliverry. Here is *points at his left* John Laval. That is Jonathan Dubé and the one at the complete right is Jonas Delord. Now, if you want, we're gonna do a trip into Marshalliston so that you see how is the city...

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 7 2006, 05:21 AM
"That would be great, thank you."

Posted by: Septentrionia Jun 7 2006, 08:42 PM
While he presented the principal buildings and roads of the Oliverrian metropolis to Mr. Hawdon and Menszae, John Laval explained to them the platform of the new government: "As you can see, this nation now wants to be active diplomatically. The thing that mainly made us realise that was the death of Tiberius Starblayde. That new lady protector is very intimidating, and will be a problem for the north of Calania in the next years. I must tell you that it was the main reason why we continued the action that the previous government did at the end of their mandate to get the diplomatic relationships cranked up a bit. As well, as we are now off the crisis that paralyzed the nation, we are now willing to invest in the country alot." he said

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 7 2006, 11:27 PM
Both Stephen and Richard nodded as they listened to the Oliverrian representatives...

"Exactly, Tiberius was one thing but it seems that Viannor is something else and Starblaydia is now a bigger threat then it was under Tiberius, and now that you have the ability, you've got to look out what is in your nations best interest... and the SDL would be the logical choice. It was for us." stated Richard

"and then safety is just one aspect of the life of the nation and you can't just ignore the economy or those less fortunate, and leading your nation towards the future." added the Prime Minister

Posted by: Septentrionia Jun 8 2006, 07:58 PM
"Anyway, as it's already 14:00, are you ready to give your speech to the Oliverrian Parliament right away, as it is supposed to be done at 15:00? I'm sorry if I'm rushing things up, but I need to talk to you after the speech has been done." said Twaxlit to Stephen Hawdon after asking his chauffeur what time it was.

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 8 2006, 08:05 PM
"I've got my notes... though I would like a bit of a refresher before things start" was all that Stephen said as the Limo started to go where ever it went.

Posted by: Septentrionia Jun 8 2006, 08:33 PM
"Oh! We forgot about refreshments... Let me get some... what do you want? Soft drinks? water? or anything else? Just tell me." Jonas Delord said after realizing he was the one responsible for the refreshments.

"So, we are now on 47e Rue, in four intersections, you'll see the Avenue du Stade, and at your left, the Stade Pepsioli will be visible... well, it is already but you'll be able to see it... In 20 intersections, we'll be on the Avenue du Parlement. And then... we'll get at the Assemblée Nationale..." said Jioulit Twaxlit to the Bazalonian representatives while Delord was still waiting for the Bazalonian representatives to tell him what they wanted to drink...

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 8 2006, 09:08 PM
"just some water... thanks.. Hmmm..."

Richard and Stephen looked out over the city and say the car as the stadium became visible and then onto the houses of parliment.

Mr Menszae and the Prime Minister headed out of the Limosine and followed the crew t the Olliverian Parliment. It was time for the address... after the relevant formalities and being officially welcomed into the parliment Prime Minister Hawdon started to speak.

"I am so glad that I am able to the great nation of Ollivery today and I would like to thank the president Twaxalit and the various officials of the government for their hospitality. Mr John Laval, Mr Jonathan Dubé and Mr Jonas Delord. I wanted to adress an issue that is close yo my heart. International co-operation. There are many potential threats to all nations within Atlantian Oceania, some of these are best dealt with on a nation by nation basis but others are of a style that needs to be collectively addressed by a group of nations. That is we wanted to Join and be apart of the SDL, an multinational organisation to address multinational issues of security. Bazalonia is pleased to support the Olliverian governments entry into the SDL. As we believe that only as a region can we deal effectively with threats that come across all of us. And we look forward to working with an Olliverian representative at the SDL soon. Thank you once again for allowing me to visit your great country."

And that was how it finished

..........

The Following reply to the Hockey Canadian response

"We are sorry that you feel this way but we respect your decision. As for the welcoming of Krytenia, which is we beleive is the nation you refer to. Then all I can say is that we have found Krytenia to be up front. We have given your representatives at the Bazlighter the entire truth to the situation. If you decide that you do not want Krytenia in the SDL then you are welcome to raise your concern and opinion. This decision will always be the SDL's and we have decided to abstain from the vote on Krytenia. We where just a facilitator to bring Krytenia's proposal to the SDL. We thank you for the concern and hope that you understand our true motives for organising a meeting with Krytenia with the SDL.

After some internal discussion an invite was to be offered to the head Hockey Canadian representative... the exact title of the person to be invited was something that had to be determined... Seemingly the Hickey Canadians used a number system for their senor beaurocrats... The following message was sent

QUOTE

To Beaurocrat One;

After receiving word of your decision to not accept a visit from our Prime Minister, we have been internally tossing around the idea of inviting a representative from Hockey Canada to Bazalonia. Hence we are asking if you, Beaurocrat Number One would visit Bazalonia, and effectively deal with any diplomatic proposals that would have occured if the Prime Minister, Stephen Hawdon, was able to visit Hockey Canada. We hope to have it some time very soon after the Prime Ministerial Tour is finished.

"It was our pleasure.. so what do yoiu propose militarily?" said Hawdon as he found a seat

Posted by: Septentrionia Jun 16 2006, 09:04 PM
"Well, we need to build a military in this nation... I wondered if your nation could help us as the budget is extremely tight and the last government didn't give a cent in the military. Them ultrapacifists Neo-Democrats..." said Mr. Twaxlit

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 16 2006, 10:37 PM
"Hmm.. I don't think the military would like me giving away their toys, they are all very protective of their budgets but what I could do, with your approval is establish a Bazalonian base as Temporary or permanent as seen fit to provide some sort of military presence in Oliverry. Not only that but also send some military analysts to, in consultation with relevant officials, draft a military build-up plan for Oliverry including measures to give defense a bigger portion of the budget taking into account other priroities. You can't just *whomp* make one big change, these things take small changes and time."

Posted by: Septentrionia Jun 16 2006, 10:50 PM
"I know about that... but your proposal seems fine. I would prefer to have a temporary base until we actually get some military budget, which will surely be next year. With the war climate, I've been elected to permit that the government knows what to do in case of war. Anyway, I'll stop crying, as it's not my job..."

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 16 2006, 10:56 PM
"I'll get started on organising that right away. On a logistical note do you have and idea of where the temporary base could be?"

Posted by: Septentrionia Jun 16 2006, 11:45 PM
"There is a big place without any cities near Riviere Desmarais, north of Marshalliston. That could be a good place for a military base."

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 17 2006, 12:00 AM
"Okay, well that's settled. Now we have a proposition for yo, we'd like to offer an embassy exchange. We are embassy building in Bazalona with an attached residential compound for the Ambassador and various embassy staff."

Posted by: Septentrionia Jun 17 2006, 12:22 AM
"I was going to propose the same thing. Anyway, there are many places available. Me and my foreign affairs ministers are agreeing that we should put them all on the same place, so, in here, I thought that the best place to put embassies would be on Rue du Parlement, that we visited earlier. Do you agree?"

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 17 2006, 12:35 AM
"Rue du Parlement looks good. I have a couple of ideas for our ambassador but I need to run this through with DFAT. If that's all then I better go, I've got a lot more nation hopping to do." said Stephen with a smile.

Posted by: Septentrionia Jun 17 2006, 08:46 AM
"Just a last thing before you quit, where will we send our ambassador exactly?"

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 17 2006, 06:20 PM
"Oh, uh, Sorry, there's an embassy district in the Bazalonian Capital, Bazalona. 23 International Lane is free, the actual embassy building and attached residential compound are not quite finished but will be in a week."

Posted by: Septentrionia Jun 17 2006, 07:20 PM
"That will be ok. Thank you for your visit in here Mr. Hawdon. Please salute your wife and your parliament for me. And thanks again for your support for our entry to the SDL."

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 17 2006, 10:02 PM
The Prime Minister fairwelled the Olliverian and left the Parliment with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade on his tail. The arrived into the Bazalonian plane and took off with the appropriate clearances... now BAZ-001 was on it's way to Lamoni....

After getting the appropriate airspace clearances it landed at the designated place in Lamoni.

Status of the Bazalonian Prime Minister's AO Tour:

OOC: Sorry for the late post, just got back from a weekend's vacation

IC: As the Bazalonian plane taxied into the appropriate secure hanger, President Stone waited until the Bazalonian PM came down the steps.

Greeting Prime Minister Hawdon and his entourage, President Stone took them to a waiting limo. "I'm afraid that the normal diplomatic welcoming ceremony will be dispensed with in this case. Not to slight anyone; understand, it is because the space in the hangar would not allow all those people to be here," he said. As the limo left Government AFB, the normal lead and trailing limos took up their stations, while in turn being led and trailed by Vremya gaurds in SUV's.

After making some small talk and offering the Bazalonians some refreshments, Stone turned to serious matters. Looking at PM Hawdon, he asked "So, I understand that you have visited Krytenia recently. I've never been there, so I am curious as to what it is like there; though I know that you probably didn't get to see very much."

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 18 2006, 08:07 PM
"I was only able to sight-see for an afternoon, I saw the Avidia Guildhall, had a VIP touer of Isserson Stadium and I went to a Krytenian uiniversity. I don't really have an idea of how Krytenians live particularily since I was .. uh... busy that night before heading over to Ollivery. I did however have a chance to get to know President Domasca, she was a loverly lady." he saids The Prime Minister in reply and then took a sip of his drink.

Posted by: Lamoni Jun 18 2006, 10:03 PM
Stone had a slight smile at the 'loverly lady' description of the Krytenian President. "Well, we have you scheduled to address a joint session of the Congress and Chamber of Deputies, and then you and I can talk while we go to Camp Metolius (OOC: http://www.metoliusriverlodges.com/ Think of an area like the link shows, but more like Camp David in America). It isn't that far from the capitol city, and it will be a better atmosphere for private talks."

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 18 2006, 10:31 PM
"I've got some notes for the joint session, Camp Metolius sounds like a great place. I wish I could have a place like it but space is getting a bit tight."

Posted by: Lamoni Jun 19 2006, 03:19 PM
Continuing the light chatter while the motorcade was heading for Government House (OOC: http://www.insanityideas.com/canada/images/victoria-parliament-buildings.jpg ), Stone entertained the possibility of daily flights between Nephi International and the main Bazalonian airport.

When the motorcade arrived at Government House, an hour passed before President Stone gave a short speech, and then introduced the Bazalonian Prime Minister to the joint session.

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 19 2006, 07:12 PM
"Thank you for inviting me to speak at a joint seating of the Lamonian Congress and Chamber of Deputies. Ever since we have entered this great region of Atlantian Oceania we have found great friends in the people of Lamoni, being the first nation to establish official diplomatic ties with us and supporting our entrance into the SDL. We have a strong link and connection between our nations, only enhanced to our relative closeness to each other. What about the future of our relations? Well I can only see them getting stronger. I have a couple of proposals to enhance our ties both cuturally and diplomatically but those will need to be discussed between President Stone and myself. Once again, the nation of Bazalonia thanks the whole of Lamoni for their friendship and I thank President Stone for his wonderful hospitality he has shown me. Thank you."

and with that the Prim Minister Stepped down form the prodium.

Posted by: Lamoni Jun 20 2006, 03:19 PM
Stone applauded with the others when Prime Minister Hawdon's address ended. After a reasonable amount of time which involved attempting to get through a lot of Senators and Deputies who wanted private chats with their 'guest,' Stone and Hawdon finally managed to get back to Stone's limo for the trip to Camp Metolius.

"The western half of Lamoni is mostly a rainforest (OOC: of the kind that you will find in the western parts of the American states of Oregon and Washington), and the eastern half is mostly desert (OOC: like the eastern half of the two states). We have three mountain ranges, and Camp Metolius itself will give you a view of at least 8 different snowcapped mountains," Stone was saying as the the motorcade made it's way. "Now, what were those proposals that you were talking about earlier, Mr. Hawdon?"

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 20 2006, 06:31 PM
"One of proposals would be a trade agreement, I think there is alot that each of our nations could contribute to each other in such a proposal and the second one would be a cultural exchange program where artistic and literary works that are deemed cuturally important are shared. Such works could include poem, dances of various types, stories of important national characters, pieces of art and sculpture, that sort of thing."

Posted by: Lamoni Jun 20 2006, 10:30 PM
"I can immediately agree to the cultural exchange, but as for the trade agreement, what do you have in mind, Mr. Hawdon?"

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 21 2006, 12:04 AM
"To sum up, freer access for Bazalonian comanies to set up bases in Lamoni, and vice versa. As well as an agreement to reduce or remove various trade tarrifs and other protectionist measures like quotas. Though the details would have to be neogtiated, items just like what to reduce and by how much."

Posted by: Lamoni Jun 21 2006, 03:08 PM
"That sounds like a fine idea, but i'd also like to add at least one daily round air trip from Nephi International to your biggest airport. LamoniAir would insist."

With this said, the motorcade had reached Camp Metolius, and Stone took the Bazalonians on a tour of the place.

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 21 2006, 06:47 PM
"I don't see that as a problem but how would LamoniAir react if LamoniAir had access to Bazalonian domestic markets and BazAir had acess to Lamonian domestic markets?" said Stephen as the limo pulled up at the 'camp'.

And received the tour....

"Nice place you got here..." said Richard Menszae

Posted by: Lamoni Jun 21 2006, 09:58 PM
"I think that LamoniAir would react favorably to such an arrangement; providing that the companies involved worked together with our governments to make things go as efficiently as possible for all involved."

To Mr. Menszae, Stone was happy to point out, "It's a nice refuge from the pressures of running such a large nation on the world stage. It also provides a secure location for meetings such as this one. Speaking of which, do you have any idea why Hockey Canada is so suspicious about Bazalonia or the other new nations to the SDL? It is like the Hockey Canadian Prime Minister regards you as traitors, but we are at a loss to figure out why DiLorenzi feels this way. She won't even give a substansive answer when asked, except for a demand to throw our support behind the invasion of Footballia that she wants."

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 21 2006, 10:36 PM
Stephen noded his head... "I'll have to try and get me one of these..." he said with a smile.

...

"I had a talk with her in regards to the Bazalonian state visit. While it didn't end up with a state visit we did manage to talk. It seems she is slightly, probably a bit of an understatement, paranoid and also annoyed that no one will support her Footbalia campaign. Which she tried to hint that if we did support she'd let us come for a state visit. We didn't agree but let her down easily... either way I am starting to become worried..." stated Richard Menszae

Posted by: Lamoni Jun 22 2006, 03:29 PM
Stone nodded. "Yes, she sounds like she's becoming another Viannor, doesn't she? However, there isn't much that we can do unless she attempts to move on Footballia herself; seeing as how no one is willing to help her invade a nation that has done nothing to her. From what we know so far, she wants Footballia occupied so that there is a direct way into Starblaydia... whom she seems to think that the SDL will automatically invade once the invasion of Footballia is accomplished. Still, she knows that the SDL won't allow it; so why is she still pushing so hard for it?"

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 22 2006, 07:52 PM
"I'm thinking she's posturing for something as to what it is, I have no idea."

Posted by: Lamoni Jun 22 2006, 10:41 PM
(OOC: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v338/Oli55/hcmap.gif This is an older map of HC, but the darker blue area in the upper left area is Starblaydia's puppet Nova Britannicus)

IC: "I have no idea either, and that is what is making her look like another Viannor or Omsec in Lamonian eyes. The coming together of Lamoni, Khazaron, and Nedalia to defeat Omsec was the starting point for the SDL, you know. I'm just hoping that she doesn't try anything stupid. We have enough things on the regional plate already."

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 23 2006, 12:49 AM
"I hope she won't do anything stupid either, but we have to be prepared to take action and then as the SDL condemn the action and then there are going to be consequences within the SDL.. both things that we don't really want to think about but we have to in the current situation." mused Stephen

Posted by: Lamoni Jun 23 2006, 08:30 PM
"It would be to our benefit to have a plan in case something like this happens. Something that the SDL nations will agree to, but that will be effective. Any ideas?"

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 24 2006, 07:23 AM
"I'm not sure... All that I can think of at the moment is call an emergency SDL meeting to discuss what to do. Though I certainly think if any agreesive actions are taken in, for the name of the SDL, whether it actually has our support or not should at least take expulsion from the SDL as a potential option. It would depend on a number of things and I don't think we can sayhow we'd react until whatever happens."

Posted by: Lamoni Jun 25 2006, 12:01 AM
Mulling over what the Bazalonian Prime Minister just said, Stone nodded politely and said, "I agree that we won't know how to react until it happens, and that we should have a meeting of the SDL council. Seeing as how it is getting late, I invite you to spend the night here if you wish. As for myself, i'm going to relax."

With that, President Stone lead everyone over to 'his' cabin, and found a rerun of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. biggrin.gif (OOC: Some of you probably know why I chose that movie for this post)

Posted by: Bazalonia Jun 25 2006, 01:22 AM
Stephen and Richard followed Stone and replied to his question.. "Thank you very much, I think we'll take you up on that offer."

and with that they followed Stone in and watched the rest of "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" before being shown to the rooms where they where going to sleep.

James Martin-Gibson was furious. Harry Livingston's final half-term as interim Chacor Foreign Minister had finished, leaving Yuri Noble to run the Foreign Ministry. But that wasn't the problem - Livingston had taken all the plans for Stephen Hawdon's visit to Chacor along with him back to CCL in Liverpool England.

"Yuri, Hawdon's due here in days. Bloody Livingston took the plans for our meeting back to CCL with him. What now?"

"Mr. Gibson, has Prime Minister Douglas been informed? Surely he can do something about it, seeing how Livingston's also his Foreign Minister in Liverpool England."

"I've tried to get to him, but failed to do so. He's away on a holiday or something... DPM (Michael Thomas James, usually just "Mike", "Tom" or "Jim" - he answers to all three) Harley's running the government. And as per our Constitution, when the Liverpool England PM - our head of state - is unable to fulfill his duties as head of state, the LE DPM doesn't take over - it's the Chacor HoG. Who, in this case, also happens to be Tommy Douglas... which means I'm effectively running the country right now."

"What do we do now?"

"We'll make it up as we go along. I think we should push for entry into the SDL if possible, or suggest some kind of a special relationship with the SDL (OOC: think the EEC/EU with Israel or Turkey), if full entry is not possible. Or we could suggest help from the SDL to resurrect the FLMS..."

"That works."

Posted by: Bazalonia Jul 4 2006, 11:26 PM
The night went by there was nothing else for Prime Minister and President Stone to talk about so the next morning preperations where made for leaving Lamoni and flying to Chacor.

Farewells where made and the Bazalonians entered the plane and flew to Chacor...

"Bravo Alpha Zulu zero zero one, requesting permission to land."

Posted by: Chacor Jul 6 2006, 12:25 AM
"Bravo Alpha Zulu 001, this is the HAI (Hubana Airport International) Control Tower. Permission granted to land."

As the plane touched down, James Martin-Gibson stepped out of his car, with photographers clicking away at their cameras. As Hawdon stepped out of the plane, Gibson walked up to the visiting dignitary to shake his hand. While doing so, he whispered, "we've a slight problem, our meeting plans seem to have been lost, so we'll push a different agenda." Turning to the press, he shook PM Hawdon's hand, before ushering PM Hawdon into his personal car and driving off.

Posted by: Bazalonia Jul 6 2006, 08:08 AM
Hawdon posed shaking James Gibson-Martin's for the media... and then into the car... before replying with a chuckle. "that's alright ... I didn't know what we where going to be talking about anyway. So what's the current plan?"

Posted by: Chacor Jul 6 2006, 09:45 AM
Reaching the official residence of the Prime Minister, Gibson ushered Hawdon out of the car and into the sprawling mansion, which was owned by Tommy Douglas, but used by both Douglas and DPM Gibson. (The capital of Chacor is Chacoria, de facto, but officially de jure it is Hubana. The seat of the government is based in Chacoria, but the official residence of the PM is in Hubana.)

"Let's get down to business, Prime Minister... we feel that, as you may know, as a former (founding) member of the Federation of Like-Minded States, we would like to seek either the SDL's help in possibly re-starting the FLMS, perhaps as a sister organisation to the SDL, or perhaps Bazalonia could sponsor Chacor as a potential SDL member. Foreign Minister Yuri Noble has also suggested the possibility of Chacor establishing full economic and political ties with the SDL, but not as a full member."

Posted by: Bazalonia Jul 6 2006, 10:24 PM
"Any proposal either with membership, to help the re-establishment of the FLMS, or economic ties would have to go to the SDL council and we'd be happy to facilitate and do whatever we can to help with whatever your government decides. We'll organise an SDL meeting.

Posted by: Chacor Jul 7 2006, 03:46 AM
"Oh, Prime Minister... I've just received urgent news that a region of Chacor has unilaterally declared secession and self-sovereignity. Will you make a joint-press conference denouncing this? I'm sure we could also seek the SDL's help in Djacor-Rysonia's announcement of its intentions to join the SAAS..."

Posted by: Bazalonia Jul 7 2006, 08:20 AM
"Just uni-laterally announcing a surprise cessation and self-autonomy is never a good idea if we could get Djacor-Rysonia to a the diplomatic table to discuss issues but as it currently stands my major concern is with the method, their out of the blue announcement. From where I stand for now, the issue needs to be resolved between the Independance seekers. Though we will be happy to aid in any way to help resolve this diplomatically."

Posted by: Chacor Jul 9 2006, 08:03 AM
"Thank you for your statement, Prime Minister. Bilateral ties are relatively weak at this point in time... the Chacoran Government has nearly no presence in Bazalonia, and vice-versa. Perhaps we need to establish consulates?"

Posted by: Bazalonia Jul 9 2006, 08:32 AM
"Most certainly." stated Stephen adding, "and I think with a view for an embassy exchange in the near future. We don't want to push our relationship too fast too quickly."

Posted by: Bazalonia Jul 14 2006, 11:00 PM
The meeting with the Chacorans where short and pleasant, Prime Minister Hawdon and Richard Menszae soon where on the plane and went on their way to Milchama.

On the way to Milchama an aide was looking at the schedule..

"Uh, Sir" said the aide to the Prime Minister Stephen Hawdon...
"The Milchaman's won't be able to accept us at the moment, they are very busy and won't have the time to meet with you. I do believe that Falcania would be functional."

The Bazalonian diplomatic plane Bravo Alpha Zulu zero-zero-one diverted to the Falcanian international airport.

Posted by: Falcania Jul 25 2006, 03:58 PM
"Bravo Alpha Zulu zero-zero-one, this is Kilo Foxtrot India Tower One, you are cleared for landing on runway 4, terminal one, over." The flight controller clicked on the runway lights for runway four and illuminated the walkway to the VIP Lounge, where King Falcon sat, ready to greet the foreign dignitaries. "Enjoy your stay in Falcania."

Posted by: Bazalonia Jul 25 2006, 08:42 PM
Prime Minister Hawdon and the Foreign Minister both stepped out of the plane and onto the group of the airport. The light's guiding the way to the ViP lounge where visible and they headed on their way to meet the king of Falcania. King Falcon.

The Prime Minister arrived and greeted the king, "Thank you for letting me come to your wonderful country. What's first on the itinerary?"

Posted by: Falcania Jul 25 2006, 09:13 PM
"Hmm, let me see." Falcon groped in his pockets for a piece of paper. "You know, making an itinerary would have been a good idea. I was hoping to play this by ear. If you like we could take a car to the palace. Or there's a variety of aircraft in the Royal Aerodrome if you'd like to take a flight. Or you could specify any location within the borders of the realm and you'll be taken there. What would you like to do first?"

Posted by: Bazalonia Jul 25 2006, 10:25 PM
"The Palace seems like a good place for discussions, It'll also allow me to get a reasonably good look at the country as we pass by. I prefer driving then going by plane but being a water bound nation we don't really have that option. But I would like to see something that you might like to show off."

said Stephen before he added "Oh, I like playing things by ear, well on the occasion."

Posted by: Falcania Jul 26 2006, 09:27 AM
"Tell you what. I'll show you something really special." Falcon walked to what appeared to be a golf cart. "Hop in." Stephen sat down in the passenger seat, and Falcon drove them to the Royal Aerodrome. They walked out. A large, bulbous object covered in a vast tarpaulin lay before them. It was about a hundred metres long, and fifteen metres tall. Falcon turned to the nearest worker. "Take off the sheet." The worker nodded and talked into his radio briefly. A large winch pulled off the tarpaulin, revealing the behemoth. Superficially it resembled a winged zeppelin, but it was much sleeker. A series of jet engines glinted in the moonlight. "I'm really proud of this. What do you think?"

Posted by: Bazalonia Jul 26 2006, 07:56 PM
"Impressive..." said Stephen as he looked over the aircraft.. "Is this a new design for mass production or a special one of design of the king." there was silent awe as he looked over the plane. "Wow". he said eventually

Posted by: Falcania Jul 26 2006, 09:17 PM
"This, my good man, is the future. You may or may not know that we in Falcania don't have a navy. But soon we will. Not of ships, but of airships such as this one." Falcon rose, and put a hand on its surface. "There's a ropeladder somewhere. Want to come and find it?"

Half an hour later, Hawdon, Falon and Menzsae were standing on the bridge of the airship, as it soared high above Falcania. The large reinforced glass windows showed a beautiful view of the countryside below. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" Falcon was looking not at the ground, but at the sky. "The sky is the one thing everywhere on this planet has in common. it's big, far bigger than the sea." He paused. "I think we Falcanians have always had a fascination with the sky, even before Darwin pulled this cruel joke on us." He stroked his feathery forearms tenderly. "I say cruel, it's a good thing. It has brought us collectively further to our dreams. Not that we all survived. Mutation is a horrible process. Many died, many were horribly disfigured. We who live today, we are the lucky ones." He turned to Hawdon, surprised at himself. "I'm sorry, I have been told I go on. Where exactly in Falcania did you have in mind?"

Posted by: Bazalonia Jul 26 2006, 10:01 PM
Stephen felt priviledged to see the airship, he found his way up onto the deck and the sensation as it lifted off the grounds and headed into the sky. Switching from looking to the ground below and where he had been and to the sky ahead. It almost felt that he was SuperDude and flying through the air.

"I feel so far from the ground... but then again, so very safe. It's almost like If there was no glass here that I could reach out and pluck a star." hawdon said... Richard meanwhile was in awe of the sensation and just bathed in the experience his sense where being bombarded with.

then the King spoke his diatribe

"I think it says so much for the Falcanians that you had managed to overcome the deadly radiation, as for the destination I think the palace would be a good place for us to start the formal portion. This has been a great treat for me. Thank you."

Posted by: Falcania Jul 26 2006, 10:23 PM
Falcon cracked a grin. "You're perfectly welcome. This is Falcania, and I'm a king. It's what we do. The palace, you say? I'm afraid that we're not allowed to land this anywhere except the Royal Aerodrome for reasons of national security. Would you prefer a plane, parachute or hang-glider to take you down to the palace?"

Posted by: Bazalonia Jul 26 2006, 11:01 PM
"I suddenly feel like hang-gliding, It's not an option I would usually go for but I think riding in the airship is doing something to me." said Stephen

"Uh... I'm not quiite sure... I prefer the plane." said Richard

"Aww, come on. In fact actually how about we parachute... " responded Stephen

"No.. just no way. No way am I jumping out of a plane thousands of metres above the ground." protested Richard

"Sorry, Parachuting it is." said Stephen with a slight grin

"Alright, alright. I'll hang-glide... you happy?" more of a statement than a question

"yes." talking to Richard before starting talking to the king. "Well, hang-gliding it is then." he said with a smile.

Posted by: Falcania Jul 27 2006, 05:39 AM
"Then it's settled. You two take the hang gliders. Follow me." He led them down into the rear of the airship. "Open the door!" A crewman pulled a switch, and the floor ramped out, revealing an open hatch. "There are the hang-gliders, I assume you know how to use them? Great! Follow me!" Without further ado Falcon ran down the ramp and jumped out of the airship. He freefell for a few seconds, then opened his wide wings. Falcon never felt happier than when he was flying. He fell into a corkscrew down, then swooped up again. He turned to see how the others were doing.

Posted by: Bazalonia Jul 27 2006, 06:08 AM
"You right with those?" Stephen asked Richard as he got into his own hanglider

"Yes, I have done this before."

"The last one out of the airship is a Bazalope Burger." stated Stephen as he leapt out of the airship and started gliding towards the ground. He looked around and admired the view of the ground coming closer tousing the bar to turn and navigate the glider around he was having a wonderful time..

meanwhile Richard was charging out of the the plane yelling his head off.. He didn't like heights but he had hang-glider experience. just not at these heights... "oh ****, oh ****, oh **** " was what he muttered as he did so.

The ground loomed up before him and closed his eyes for a moment and then he opened his eyes... the ground was there and he could feel that he was certainly approaching the ground but for some reason he didn't feel as scared. Even attempting a barrel roll, which he did.

Fun was being had by all.

Posted by: Falcania Jul 27 2006, 01:22 PM
After about five minutes of gliding, the trio had reached the palace. Falcon alighted, slightly out of breath, on the large patio on the third storey, overlooking the larger patio on the ground floor. There was a bar there, and he ordered a drink.

Posted by: Bazalonia Jul 27 2006, 08:23 PM
It was such a great time the two Bazalonians followed the king down and after a bit of a shaking landing by both of them managed to land on the large patio successfully.

Noticing the bar the two fo them went down to the bar and ordered a beer for themselves

To the esteemed Prime Minister of Bazalonia,

United Meridian would like apologize for the lateness of this letter, however we hope it is not too late to schedule a meeting between our 2 nations. Specifically, we would like to talk about various trade agreements between the ISUM and Bazalonia, as well as discuss the possibility of various UM international corporations opening offices and business locations within Bazalonian territory. As the CEO is currently away at an international trade conference, hosted in your esteemed nation, I will be replacing him as diplomatic envoy. If it is to your convenience, we would like to meet you at UM International Airport at Meridian City in the state of Merina. The meeting itself could take place at ISUM Headquarters in the capital, however I would be more than happy to give you a tour of the country beforehand if it is to your liking.

I'd like to thank you for the offer and the expression of interest your nation has in the establishment of a region-wide multi-lateral trade organisation. And as such I'd like to accept the offers of trade discussion and tour.

The plane had landed and Gonnenberg went out to recieve the guest.

"Prime Minister Hawdon we welcome you, we have many things to discuss that hopefully in your couple of days here we can get to." Tim Gonnenberg said,

"The first thing is the war between the SDL and Starblaydia and ASPIRE involvment in it. Actually that is pretty much the only thing but I'm sure it will take all of 2 days, maybe more to discuss."

Posted by: Bazalonia Aug 20 2006, 11:02 PM
"We do have serious discussions, Starblaydia could have very well just given us proof of how despicable it's leadership actually is, and if we play this right then we may just recieve military aid from ASPIRE Nations, though it's going to be difficult. Though we better continue or discussion in more secure location."

OOC: Well now that there is no more war that screws a wrench in my plans in this thread. Meh new topics.

The plane had landed and Gonnenberg went out to recieve the guest.

"Prime Minister Hawdon we welcome you, we have many things to discuss that hopefully in your couple of days here we can get to." he said, "We have to talk about the overly aggressive actions of Starblaydia in Djacor Rysonnia, the new AORDO elections, and how the plauge could effect politics in Atlantian Ocenia. Top all that off with the fact that all 120 members of the Conneset want to personally meet and talk to you, you sir have a very busy week. I only hope we can get to everything."

Posted by: Bazalonia Aug 22 2006, 12:43 AM
"There has only a few occasions on this tour that have not been busy, so What's on the Agenda first, discussions or the Connesent? The early we get this down the more time there may be later for a bit of fun. That's if time permits." Stephen said after he had reached the Milchaman.

"Oh, and I also have a topic of our own, that may just benefit both of us and bring ties between our nations closer, but discussions of those sort should wait until were both ready."

Posted by: Milchama Aug 22 2006, 09:51 AM
"We'll go to the Conneset first. You can speak in front of all of them if you want. Then we'll give you about 10 minutes in front of each member, from there we'll discuss the issues at hand. You can decide when you want to put the Bazalonia thing on the agenda." Gonnenberg was being really nice today.

"I hope that sounds good."

Posted by: Bazalonia Aug 22 2006, 05:57 PM
"I'd be honoured to speak in front of the Conneset, As for where to start the discussions, well we mose well start with what I have proposed. Nothing major, just something that I think will be beneficial to both of us. Shall we get started then?"

Posted by: Bazalonia Aug 22 2006, 09:26 PM
Stephen Hawdon stepped up to the podium before the Conneset and started his discussion.

"First of all let me say thank you for inviting me to your nation and allowing to speak to you today. A body of water is not the only thing that our nations share. We both share in the belief in the benefits of international co-operation, your joining of ASPIRE proves this. Adding to this is the international sporting with Soccer, Kleptochase and the Olympics. Many international bonds have been formed over a good game, whatever that game is and even despite the fact that we are in difering Atlantian Oceanian Alliances me and my government see no reason why bonds formed over soccer and other international sporting events cannot be enhanced further.

This was the reason why a started this regional tour and I was extremely glad to hear when I received the news that your nation had accepted to have me here. There are a number of items that I feel that our 2 nations could co-operate and deal with those situations together. Firming a building upon our current relationship and bringing the ties between our nations to a new level. I thank you for your time."

He stepped down and was nearly immeadiately thronged by the members of the Conneset and it seemed every single member had demanded his full and utter complete attention, all at the same time, but eventually he managed to see all the members and it was time for the discusions with the Milchaman Prime Minister Tim Gonneberg.

Posted by: Milchama Aug 23 2006, 09:26 AM
Finally! Hawdon was done addressing and meeting with each member of the Conneset. Gonnenberg kept on thinking thank god we don't have a large 500 person legislature or something like that because that would take forever.

Anyway the PM came down and Gonnenberg approached and said, "Thank god that's over, now what do you want to discuss?"

Posted by: Bazalonia Aug 26 2006, 05:41 PM
"It had seemed I had to shake the hand of everybody at a 'Living Starts' concert, I'm going to have trouble remembering even a quarter of what I said to the conneset members individually. Anyway, onto business, I was thinking of establishing a Bazalonia-Milchama car ferry service, this would be beneficial in my opinion to both nations." said Stephen Hawdon, who was not quite sure how he felt.

Posted by: Milchama Aug 27 2006, 01:06 PM
"A car ferry service? You know what that's a very good idea. We could form our own chunnel or something. Alright I'm game. I mean that would just mean more tourism and we need more tourism. Why don't we get our travel and/or finance ministers on it? I'm sure they can do a fine job."

Gonnenberg then got onto more pressing issues, in his opinion. "General Ariel Golbar has been adamant about this, and says that we should introduce him as an AORDO candidate? What do you think? Is this a good idea or just his arrogance?"

Posted by: Bazalonia Aug 28 2006, 09:01 PM
"Well, we do need some candidates for the position, it seems that there will only probably be a Starblaydi candidate and therefore elected unopposed. If John McKay was not already the UN delegate I'd look around to see who I'd approach to see if they would be a candidate for that position. But the same nation taking up both the Presidential and Delegate positions is just asking for trouble. If you believe that General Ariel Golbar is a man that can be responsible for the whole region and can handle the diplomatic aspect as well as the military leadership. Well then, I see no reason why he shouldn't. As for the opinion on him, well, I have no idea of the man so I can't say yea or nay and even if I could, I'm the Prime Minister of Bazalonia, not Milchama"

Posted by: Lamoni Aug 28 2006, 10:35 PM
OOC: Lamoni also has a candidate running. Good day.

Posted by: Bazalonia Aug 29 2006, 01:56 AM
OOC: Sorry, Lamoni, I totally forgot people had even put forward candidates. meh, anyway 3 IMO is a better number of candidates than 2.
