(Moved to General Discussion)
Define 'tips'? Do you want roleplayed wars, sport, diplomacy, trade etc or do you want to answer issues until all your ratings are maxed out? |

Here's a brief run-down of Roleplaying from my perspective...
First and foremost, Roleplaying is meant to be fun, have fun with it.
There are many situations but roleplaying, or "playing a role", is pretty much like acting, but instead of you being the actor and doing the actual actions, you describe the actions of a particular person/group/thing and how it relates to others.
To Roleplay you need a good idea of what your characters (people that you are controling in the Roleplay) want to achieve their views of situation and it would be greatly encouraged to make everyone different somehow. You can use people you meet in real life as a help for this.
There are many varying types of Roleplay which all have different rules but the General rule is Do not say what other people's character's do. However you can if you get permission from the nation involved.
Some people Roleplay by codifiing (writing everything down before hand) everything, others like less structure but also remember, you still need to keep at least a decent level of realism. This is a good resource for helping you determine things to stay away from.
However in Sports RP's Godmoding is not as seriously look down upon only a few people don't like really stupid and insane events happening and generally that information is contained either at the begining of the RP thread (if it is tournament wide) or on the roster/signup page as appropriate, if they exist at all.
If you have any specific questions... or want to know more aboout a particular type of RP... First, check the NS Wiki This is a good source of information both about other people as well as guidelines and general information. But if you still have questions. Don't hesitate to ask.
