The Fauxhan Times Article Excerpt

The Bazalope Flu, perhaps at most an annoying virus to both wild and farmed Bazalope throughout Bazalonia has had it's first case today of animal-to-human transmission. A 33-year old man was admitted to the St Margarets Hospital in Fauxhan showing symptoms of a raised temperature, aches and a nose that would not stop running. At the moment, it isn't believed to be dangerous to humans and doctors are keeping an eye on the infected patient. Governmental medical labs of the Disease Control Centre are looking into the mutation of the virus that allowed transmission to humans. It is believed by medical experts to be a very rare mutation of the virus and people who handle Bazalpoes regularily are asked to be alert of potential symptoms.

With no further cases of Bazalope Flu being reported it looks to be well under control, however the Disease Control Centre is still being very much aware. It may have been a single and case, but now Bazalope handlers of all sorts are being advised to take measures to mitigate the chance of further incidents.

The two largest healthcare corporations in the Free Kingdom, Medistar Inc. and Careplus Enterprises, have extended their sympathy to Bazalonia. As bird flu crises have been threatening Falcania for years, they know only too well that such events can be very tricky work.
