A press conference of the highest degree. Word had reached all media posts in Nedalia to get their reporters ready and their cameras rolling, because President Dala'a was going to address the nation at 19:00 PM. They had 3 hours to prepare, to get their people to the Parliament Building in Kafra. It was 18:55 PM.

The press didn't understand; there was no leak, no warning, no guessing what Dala'a was about to say. Obviously, the word had gotten out to the international press as well; representatives of media stations throughout the AO were plentiful. There was a certain uneasiness in the air, an aura of tension that had beseiged the Parliament Building. Government officials looked anxious, almost tired. Something was up. 18:59 PM.

President Yasmine Dala'a walked out onto the podium, visibly shaken, but even more visibly angry, almost seething. She wasted no time:

"Ladies and gentlemen of the press, thank you for coming on such short notice. I understand that, and do apologize, for keeping you in the dark about this meeting, but what you are about hear, I'm sure, will move you just as much as it has moved me."

She took a huge breathe, looked down at the paper infront of her, shook her head, then looked back up.

"A few of days ago, we received reports out of war-riddled Chacor about huge amounts of the deadly Quirrith Plague virus in the country. To make matters worse, we also received in those very same reports that the land, and its people, were completely unvaccinated. Last night, those reports were confirmed."

Murmuring started rumbling across the room as journalists started whispering to each other. Dala'a raised her hand, signalling them to silence down.

"What was also confirmed to us in last night's report is just about the most disturbing thing I've been exposed to. Chacor does not sit inside the Exposed Area, as it has been called by us, but quite at a distance from it. I had ordered, after the initial report, a team to find out how the virus had gotten to the country. What they reported back was..."

Dala'a voice drifted off. She looked up at the flashing lights, and sighed.

"While there is no way to confirm what I'm about to say 100%, the evidence is overwhelming. The virus was found in Chacor's water-supply, and the origins were traced back to Djacor-Rysonnia; more specifically, back to areas the Starblaydi Army was in control of when it decided to invade. Ladies and gentlemen, I will repeat what I just said: We have overwhelming evidence that suggests Starblaydia exposed the Quirrith Plague virus to Chacor's water supply."

No more murmurs. No more whispering. Just silence.

"I've heard people within my own administration suggest that the virus could be anywhere, even here in Nedalia, and that finding it in Chacor didn't neccessarily mean Starblaydia purposely put it there. Upon our investigation, however, it has become transparently clear to everyone; the virus has been found in an impossibly huge number, an amount that would take time to grow into. Added to that is the fact that origins were traced back to Starblaydi-controlled land, back to the exact time of the Starblaydi retreat from Djacor-Rynossia."

"Ladies and gentlemen of the press, there will be a genocide in Chacor in the upcoming days. A ruthless act of killing, or murder. Children, women, the elderly; all will die. For no reason. Starblaydia has planted the seed of genocide in Chacor."

Complete shock. Even some of the cameramen had their cameras down and were just listening.

"Its funny how they strive to rid the world of nuclear weapons, yet inflict a weapon that will do far more damage than any nuclear warhead in existence today. Starblaydia has masterminded of what will be the killing of millions of Chacorians, and the worst part is, there appears to be no reason. At this very moment, our SDL friends are being contacted, and here in Nedalia, we are loading tonnes of vaccinations and specialist teams to be sent to Chacor to do what we can, and we urge all of our SDL friends to do the same. One thing, however, has become clear to us...."

Dala'a eyes had widened, and rage was evident in her face.

"The murder machine that is Starblaydia shall not be allowed to ruin, and undermine, all that is sacred to us here in the AO. I address this to all nations of the Atlantian Oceania: Our freedom, our very livelihood, is being threatened by the maniac in charge of Starblaydia. It stops here. The line has been drawn, Viannor, and your time is up. In the name of the millions that will perish in Chacor because of your insanity, your time is up."

OOC: Ok, so basically, Star has been wanting a war for the longest time, and I figure we might as well get things started. If this is out of line, just let me know, we'll ignore the whole thing. If not, let the fun begin!

OOC: Give me and Star a chance to finish the guidlines for war. Then we can blow each other up.

OOC: One, I agree with TLC on the timing and, secondly, why does nobody ever read what I write correctly? Chacor is vaccinated against the virus already, and it's only that thar disputed bit of Djacor-Rysonia which wasn't vaccinated. If you check the map - assuming NSwiki works - Djacor-Rysonia is the bit marked DMZ, which is firmly next to Ryloss; an infected nation. Everyone seems to have assumed I was invading Chacor, which is completely false, I was invading the breakaway nation to restore it to Chacor - but with the added twist of killing nearly everyone in it smile.gif

OOC: It's all good, no worries. smile.gif Star, I figured that since Djacor and Chacor were actually one, sooner or later the virus would hit Chacor itself. I also didn't know TLC and Star had an RP going about it, either. WHY DIDNT ANYONE TELL ME THIS!!! Anyway, post a big fat [ignore] on this thread, or you can actually delete it all-together, Star. Dala'a went on TV screaming death to Viannor? What? When?

Less of an RP, more of a set of volunteer guidelines so that when we do all go to war (it's gonna happen, let's face it) there isn't an immediate shout of 'oh thats dumb I'm not RPing with your spacedy-ships/ion-cannons/godmodded-economy/fish-face etc.' We made mention of it in my 'Thoughts on RPing...' thread, which is now stickied.

Thread Closed.
