"This is Graham Palin live from Aviod-Diord, Krytenia, home of the first AOlympic Games. A grand total of 16 nations from all across the Atlantian Oceania region, at least at press time. Throughout the duration of the Games, I will be covering the athletes from Ainorpisp as they go for the Gold, so to speak..."

"After the opening ceremonies today, the stage is set for the first events to begin tomorrow. Amongst those events is the first one in which medals will be awarded: the Triathalon. Ainorpisp's hopes of a Triathalon medal rest on the able shoulders of Delsie Gasque, a 26-year old former Army drill sergeant who is in perhaps the best shape of her life.. Will she make it through the 1500m swim, 40km cycle, and 10m run quickly enough to make it to the podium? Tune in to NANN's Olympic coverage tomorrow to find out.."

"... And in the Triathlon, can National Champion Wilbur Velez pick up the first Gold Medal of the games by taking the best the region has to offer in the three disciplines over fifty-one and a half kilometres? We'll be dropping in on his medal challenge throughout the day, as well as having all the highlights from each stage of the race for you..."

"Welcome to Chacorian Sports Update on Fresan News Network! Let's head LIVE to Avid-Diord, Krytenia, where Tim Sony is standing by! Tim!"

"Yes, it's time for the triathalon today, with Gregory Tejada, the Chacorian flag-bearer at the Opening Ceremony, participating for Chacor. He's certainly our best athlete here at the Games, and we'll definitely keep a close eye on him! Back to you in the studio!"

"Welcome to our coverage of the 2004 AOlympics, I'm Bilosus Rastus. We'll start off today's coverage at the Triathlon."

"Thanks Bill. Well, out of the 12 entrants in this event, Aquiliana's N.E. Citator couldn't really be called the favorite. If he wants to win this event, he'll need to overcome his poor cycling skills with very strong swimming and running. He's right on the edge of a medal as it stands now."

"On the other hand, Vilita's Askiii Morata must be considered when talking about Medal condidates, don't you think Bill? Have you seen his legs? If there's one place he'll have to dig hard it will be in the tank, but When He's on the Bike, and when he's Running, I don't see anyone stopping him from claiming a podium spot..."

Velez Edged out in Sprint Finish

"The first Four athletes all finished within around a minute of each other, but unfortunately Wilbur Velez was the fourth man, beaten to the finish by Vuilinaim Julikian of Turori, we pick up the commentary with around a three hundred yards to go..."

"Its Morata, fighting with Rhys-Jones for the Gold! Velez is in third, a hundred metres to go. And here comes the Turorian! Julikian is racing up to the pack, he's broken out of the crowd chasing the leaders! He's put Velez into fourth and its Askiii Morata who takes the gold!

Poor Wilbur Velez, he was so close to the line, but beaten by the impressive finish of the Turorian. Its Morata first, Rhys-Jones second, Julikian third and Wilbur Velez finishes fourth, just eighteen seconds behind the medals. Unlucky for Wilbur..."

The Daily Druid

RHYS-JONES CLAIMS FIRST MEDAL
By Ian-Question-Mark

Triathlete Geraint Rhys-Jones started off what will hopefully be a successful AO Olympic campaign for NEWI Cefn Druids with a silver medal. Rhys-Jones and Askiii Morata of Vilita were evenly matched through the first two parts of the race, with Morata ahead out of the water, but Rhys-Jones closing the gap during the cycle.

The race was won by the Vilitan in the last mile-and-a-half of the race, when Rhys-Jones appeared to simply not have enough to give the race, and faded back into second, despite his best efforts. However, after the race, Rhys-Jones didn't seem too disappointed. "Morata is a different class to the rest of the field," he told reporters afterwards, "Stayong with him for as long as I did is some achievement in itself. I'm more happy with silver."
