| A question for Geisenfried: why use an actual coin toss as last resort after the IC coin toss (RP bonus tiebreaker)? I don't know about non-US currency, but our coins are noted for being substantially less than perfect at generating 50-50 randomness. Tails is favored, meaning you would have to use an actual randomizer to determine who will be tails, somewhat killing the point. Why not just use random.org to choose between 1 and 2? Or, alternatively, scorinate a fake match between the two teams, and declare the winner to have won the coin toss? (with or without AOCAF rankings) Unless you are using a coin which is perfectly balanced, in which case it would be nice to know what sort of coin this is (unless it is unsafe to disclose your country of residence). |

| Well I suppose you could technically say an actual coin toss would also not work if 3 teams got through the objective and subjective methods of differentiation offered. But that's besides the point. The point of the matter was if those set specifications failed to produce a winner, random chance would be used to select who passed onto the next round. That said, I'm generally hopeful that it won't get to that point. |

| Geis: Can you elaborate on your RP Bonus strategy? For both hosts: What % Of AO-KPB do you see being awarded on a daily/tournament basis? How far can an unranked climb? Note that the top AO nation typically has a AOKPB between 30 and 40 |

| Having consulted with ESF/Valanora, as I'm using the same scorinator that was just used in the WC, the bonus will generally be the same deal - RP improves rank directly and will be cumulative - meaning more RPs give any competing nation a better chance as the days go on. As for how much an unranked nation can improve, I would say that I generally consider RP more important than rank, and so, if we continue the comparison with WC61, a good RP would generally improve your chances much more for this AOCAF than it would have in the last WC, given the lower max ranking, lower rankings in general and a higher base RP bonus I'm planning. That said, I would also note I am taking into account that this tournament is not intended to be long and there will only be so many chances to RP. A team with a high rank, even without RPing, will pretty much always have an advantage over a team starting unranked, even with max RP bonus. That said, with what I've tested, the chances jump pretty radically if you keep RPing with quality content vis-a-vis someone who's relying solely on rank, so I'm content with the balance so far. |

| I plan to take into account the three Rs - for the specific scenario you mentioned, a high-ranked team with zero RP should always have the advantage over an unranked team, whatever the circumstances. However, I intend to use a sliding scale of awarding RP bonus, which takes into consideration the quality as well as frequency of RP. I've tested some numbers in xkoranate and I'm very happy with the results - in fact, I'd say I have a good enough set of numbers planned to keep the expected balance between high and low-ranked teams, while still rewarding frequent and consistent roleplayers. I can't really say what percentage of the bonus I plan to award, because it's going to vary based on quality and amount of RP. A very basic summary would be that an unranked team which consistently provides quality RP is likely to put up a credible performance, while a high-ranked team which does not RP is unlikely to win the thing - subject, of course, to the whims of Margaret. (Also, I apologise for taking a while to answer - I've been moving into halls of residence at university, so it's been a bit chaotic.) |

| Since the tie seems not to be broken, I recommend the hosts agree on a scorinator, and co-host the tournament each taking half the groups in a WCF type format, each scorinating the others matches. |
