For generations, they lived in silence. The Ratleans had inhabited the island for who-knows-how-long, occasionally gaining contact with the outside world, but barely enough for the world to notice. the Island was peacably ruled by the Culenkari. Prince Culenkari I, the Great Uniter of the Ratlean tribes, kept the people happy, and all stayed quiet for most of the time, until now...
Culenkari VII sat in his office, debating how to word his coming announcments. He knew that to say what he was would generate interest among the region, but potentially fear among his own people. He was going to have to word this carefully, and was going to need help. He called in his cousin, Jana Princeps, also his press liason, to make sure it was entirely accurate.
Finally, the statements were ready. The first was released, with the Culenkari Seal, to the Town Leaders and the Ratlean Press.

Since your nation is almost entirely uncharted by outsiders, we would like to send an expedition of sixty-four scientists to explore it. Among other things, their mission would be to find out what valuable resources your people have, and if it would be possible for us to negotiate an arrangement to obtain something that may be of use in our products. The Prince's corresponding team had much to do on this afternoon. After receiving telegrams from both the Hypocrians and the Starblaydi, appropriate responses were needed. After they were typed, the Culenkari looked over, approving and signing both letters. He also took the moment to forward Starblaydia's comments to his father, who had taken an interest in Southern Starblaydian culture.

If you could prepare them in the proposed location of the Ratlean Embassy, I will greatly apprecate it. In return, we have a series of locations ready for any delegation that you and the Lord-Protector wish to send, including a permanent embassy in a scenic location near the Inner City of Aldinn City.
Lastly, as a first sign of cultural exchange, please accept the following shipments as well: 2 full cases of our locally-brewed specialty, Honey Bear Ale. It is a personal favorite of mine, and I hope that Tiberius enjoys it as well.
