Whoever said having a huge military was a good thing?

People were being recruited right out of university. Those who could not prove themselves worthy of combat were sent to manufacture weapons, tanks, planes and any other weaponry the Hockey Canadian government generated. Nobody said a word, and was right to. The population of the large, barren country was bleeding as offices and industry burned with overcrowding. Dictator Di Lorenzi would often look down on the Crimson Square at all the peope scurrying about in Otnorot and smile at what would become the heroes of Hockey Canada. Those that made up her cabinet were not the leaders of the country, the small specks that composed the society were.

In the Ysk province, hidden silos were running more tests on their precious contents. Hockey Canada had nukes, and had for years, they were just not stupid enough to flaunt them around like Athiestic Right and the disaster that insued afterwards. This was a time that Hockey Canada had to seize, and the nuclear arms would be a last resort if Di Lorenzi's plans failed. Hockey Canada was planning to go to war.

The Hockey Canadian Infantry was not the best in Atlantian Oceania, but the sheer size was enough to overwhealm and conquer whatever was in the force's path. The Air Force on the other hand was second only to Falcania. It would be hard to defeat Hockey Canadians in the air, but if there were to be a conflict in Hockey Canadian airspace, there would be hell to pay. The Navy could've used some work, but could hold it's own against an enemy force. Special Forces would not be needed for this operation.

Sights were set high as Hockey Canadian Generals prepared plans for an attack. A simple clue to help out Atlantian Oceania for the first target was issued to every major newscast in the region.

Olivierrian government closes border between Hockey Canada and Oliverry

Concerning the threat of an imminent invasion by Hockey Canadians, the Government of Oliverry decided an immediate and complete close of the Oliverro-Hockey Canadian border earler today. The president, Jacques Roger, said that it was to answer to an imminent invasion that might happen as soon as next week from the Hockey Canadian part.

As well, the government also announced that anyone with Hockey Canadian citizenship has to leave the nation until next week. But, as dual-citizenship is allowed in Oliverry, another choice will be given to those who got both nationalities: Either they renounce to their Hockey Canadian citizenship and can stay in Oliverry, or they can renounce to their Oliverrian nationality and move to Hockey Canada right away.

As if this was not enough, the Oliverrian Government also promulgated another law, about which the "Autonomous city of Communiste" will now be governed by themselves, as a Free City. It won't be part of Oliverry anymore, as a plebiscite done by the present municipal council, which already had the status of a province, while it was officially part of the province of Sud-Francie, had a 75% majority of people that accepted to secede from Oliverry. The poll also had a "Stay in Oliverry" option and a "Join Hockey Canada" option. The former had 23% vote for it and the later had a mere 2% vote for it. When in the streets, you can clearly see that the people in Communiste hate the Hockey Canadians, as about 75% are either considered as "Dissident" or as "Traitors" by the Hockey Canadian government. The only thing hoped by the Free City of Communiste is to stay neutral.

After all these measures, an approximated 26,000 people will leave, with about 2,000,000 people in Oliverry with Hockey Canadian citizenship. When questioned about why they're not leaving, the leader of the Hockey Canadian community of Marshalliston said: "We quit that country as soon as that crazy dictator came to power. We are dissident to her and, even though we are of the same nationality than her, she will consider us as -explicitive removed-ty as she would consider a Starblaydian. Anyway, I seriously feel Pussy Dictator is as crazy as Lady Viannor, and I'm sure the guys behind me will all agree with me." Comment to which everyone agreed.

These measures will also affect sports in Oliverry. The so-called Hockej Kanadyn SKK, member of the Première Ligue de Soccer Froggy Beer, was disbanded after the ban of the Hockey Canadians in Oliverry. As well, the four Hockey Canadian teams of the OHL will not be able to participate in any other matches and were expelled of the league because they couldn't fulfill their duty as a member club. Finally, about 30 players from Oliverrian teams will have to leave, as the Oliverrian government always refused to give the Oliverrian nationality to foreign players who were only coming for what they can win, not for the country.

*In the office of President Roger*

President Roger was listening to music when a phone rang

Jacques Roger: Yea? Who's calling?

Agent 001: Roupeto Nimian Jonomisan Rutis

Jacques Roger: Ok... atleast you know the password to make it so that nobody may understand our conversation...

Agent 001: Yea... So why did you call me?

President Roger: I was wondering... as you're a member of the secret services, did you do the err... job I told you to do?

Agent 001: Why are you talking to me that way? Usually, you're direct... Anything wrong sir?

Roger: Yes... I feel there are Hockey Canadian spies outhere... Yesterday, I saw a microphone in my hamburger... 2 days ago, it was a camera in my toilet... A week ago, it was a mini-robot that stung me... Now, listen to me...

*From now, the conversation will be in Limbrogidlian*

Roger: Now, you will affect an unit of the Secret Services here and will clean this place... clear?

Agent 001: Yes! Sir! Anyway, about that job of spying the meetings of Pussy Dictator, it was easier than excepted. You know she spoke of an invasion of Oliverry right?

Roger: Yes... I heard it through the branches... I also heard it was because of the war against Starblaydia... Do you confirm?

Agent 001: You're right. But not only that... She also said she had the nuclear weapon and was ready to use it against us whenever possible.

Roger: WHAT? We will have to divert them from doing this... but how?

Agent 001: I guess you mean you will use us right?

Roger: How did you guess? Actually, what I want you to do is [part removed from the conversation. Will be told later as the story goes on]. You see what I mean?

Agent 001: Yes, I see. This might work or not. But, I guess we can work out something. I'm ready to pay of my life to defend our nation against such undemocratic bastards.

*From now, the conversation is back in French*

Agent 001: Did you read yesterday's Bernman's article in the Marshalliston Times?

Roger: Yes... She seems to know something that we don't know...

Agent 001: Actually... I discovered a secret message in her article.

Roger: Really? Care to share with me?

Agent 001: I will go straight forward: The message said that she discovered something that could lead to Di Lorenzi's destitution. But for that, you'd need to meet her... She did actually call me today and told me these instructions. She told me you'd understand: "The west wing you'll follow. Once inside, you'll want to go away, scared, but you won't. Go forward, straight, and you'll see a monster so big that you will respect him. The key to the mystery is past the door of the monster."

Roger: I get it! Thanks for the precisions about this... Bye!

Agent 001: Bye!

President Stinson was reviewing the situation in the Octagonal Office with Foreign Minister Tanya Ley, NIA Director Scott Johanssen, and Defense Minister Joachim Shank.

The NIA Director was speaking. "A nation with the population size of Hockey Canada could field an army the size of 451,000,000... for a few days. After that, they would experience a massive shutdown of their economy. I would expect them to field about 51,000,000 in their total armed forces. Obviously, this is still a formidable force, but Oliverry could field a roughly comparably sized force. I think that Hockey Canada will find that they are about to bite off more than they can chew. Hockey Canada has one hell of an air force, but the big question for them is the quality of their army. We are talking about an army that has yet to be blooded within the confines of AO, and it is entirely possible that they have NEVER been blooded. The true measure of an army is what they do when things are going badly for them. We have yet to see that with the Hockey Canadian Army."

After agreeing with the NIA Director, the Defense Minister proposed sending Lamonian troops over to help their Oliverrian brothers. This sent the four debating for about two hours, with topics like whether this would affect strategic plans for sending Lamonian troops to the AO War zone, how many troops would be available to send, how the logistics would work out, and the other sundry topics that one would expect when talking about such a operation.

Finally, a comprimise was reached. President Stinson directed the Foreign Minister to send three messages. One message would be sent to SDL and AO War neutrals to gauge regional responses to the Hockey Canadian agression, another would be sent to the Oliverrian government in order to offer Lamonian assistance; and a final message would be sent to the crazy Hockey Canadian dictator herself.

We see now that Hockey Canada is making diplomatic noises about invading a nation that must obviously be Oliverry.  We also see that the Hockey Canadian despot is insane; and any warplans that she might have must be cut off at the pass.  Therefore, we are asking your governments what your responses to this Hockey Canadian insanity will be.  We look forward to hearing back from you.

Greetings, President Roger.  The Free Republic can not fail to note the recent agressive moves made by Hockey Canada against your nation (OOC: Oli, feel free to talk to me OOCly about this).  We feel that a Hockey Canadian invasion of Oliverry would be AS great a crime as the one that Lady Viannor of Starblaydia has commited with her invasion of the Alliance of Nine States.  The Free Republic hereby pledges it's support to our Oliverrian allies, and (with your permission) we will be willing to send Lamonian troops to stand side by side with your forces against the Hockey Canadian threat.  It is our hope that if the Hockey Canadian Dictator knows that she is up against more than just Oliverrian forces, that she may back off.  Still, we will be there with you if the war starts.

The Free Republic notes; with concern, your recent agressive moves against the nation of Oliverry.  We state in no uncertain terms that we would view such a move as a crime as great as that of which Lady Viannor of Starblaydia is guilty of; with her invasion of the Alliance of Nine States.  We have contacted the Oliverrian government; and will send Lamonian troops to help Oliverry defend their territory if your armed forces do not back off immediately.

To all nations of Atlantian Oceania,

It seems as if once again nations in this region have decided for reasons unbeknownst to us that a military adventure is once again necessary. As for our standard position of peace, we deplore all such actions and urge the nation of Hockey Canada to stand down. There is simply no need for such actions to be occurring. We should all remember what this great region is truly about, dominating the rest of the world on the athletic battlefield, not dominating each other on the real battlefield.

The border was a stalemate, and it did not appear that any Abattoirian forces were making any attempt to push forward. There was much fierce debate amongst the Battlegroup Commanding Officer Council as to whether or not they should continue the patrol or just leave a skeleton sentry force to repel an initial defence. The way King Falcon saw it, they just needed a reason to leave. That reason came.

Conference Room - FNA Feather - Above TLC/Abattoirian Border

"Goddamn it, Captain Summers! We bloody NEED a presence here - we can't let the Butchers just stroll over into the Lowlands!"

"I've told you, Captain Webster, there is absolutely nothing happening here! We're wasting time and resources floating here doing bugger all!"

"And I've told you, Captain - "

He was cut short by King Falcon pushing in the door. "Gentlemen. Leave behind the Howard and its escorts as a nominal monitor group. Send the rest of the fleet to Oliverry. Commander Hack will remain here, as my direct representative onboard this ship and therefore the fleet. I shall take the Starling and its escort back to Mathdon, where I shall commandeer a second battlegroup. We shall rendezvous at these co-ordinates. Am I understood?" Everybody in the room, including the rather nervous tea-ladies, nodded emphatically. "Very good." He saluted, and left.

Transit Airspace

The Starling and its Royal Escort squadron blasted through the air at Mach 2.02 under afterburner. This situation would be remedied.

We hereby thank you for your offer. Let them enter the nation as soon as possible. My government has pledged that there would be no war, but now that the population is aware of the Hockey Canadian problem, we will need to protect us as soon as possible. As well, remember they got the nuclear weapon. When it comes to the characters, I feel Di Lorenzi is as crazy as Viannor, if not more. So, the sooner we can organize our defense, the sooner we will be able to defend.

Our army has about 30 million regular people in it, with a capacity of 60 million more people in our reserve. Sadly, our army is not well trained, especially as it hasn't got the opportunity to fight in any war yet.

Thank you for your offer and, as I said, our nation welcomes it with pleasure

As you might know, the Oliverrian government is now facing a threat from the Hockey Canadian government. We don't urge you to stop that war against a dictatorship such as Starblaydia. Instead, we ask you for your help at facing another dictatorship. Any kind of help will be accepted: Military, economically, arms, etc. Anything will be accepted. Now, we've got evidence that Hockey Canada wants war against [B]real[/B] democracy and we should force them to retract their threat or for them to face the army of freedom, of the SDL.

Oh! I was almost forgetting: Please note that Hockey Canada has the nuclear weapon. This might seem scary, but our secret services told us that they are the same model that they showed us when they were in the SDL. So, this is not something to be scared about.

I also call for a meeting of the SDL leaders. Anywhere, as long as we meet each other.

The bitch will have to pay one day or the other

With the acceptance of Oliverry, troops could be seen boarding Lamonian freighters for the trip. Lamoni would be sending twenty million active and Civil Gaurd troops, so a lot of freighters would be needed, and they would be making round trips.

President Stinson was watching the troop loading along with the Defense Minister, who was holding a copy of the messages that had been sent their way from Oliverry.

"President Roger of Oliverry has requested a emergency meeting of the SDL council; location to be determined. Hockey Canada has been quiet, just the continued mobilization. Finally, we have nowhere for our troopships to land when they get to Oliverry." said the Defense Minister.

Stinson nodded, and continued to watch the loading process.

"Oh this is great...this is great....this is JUST FREAKING GREAT!" came the obviously infuriated voice of Minister Uram from inside here office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Archon City. Sitting at her desk she had been going over the various folders her aides had given her for the day's work. The first few hadn't been much, just the normal status reports on embassies and the development of the war-effort against Starblaydia. About five folders she came across one that was marked urgent and flagged as regarding the SDL. She toke a moment to wonder why if it was urgent it wasn't at the top of the pile, she would have to fire someone for that, then proceeded to read the report.

It gave all the pertinent details of the Hocky Canada announcement, as well as the responses from Oliverry and Lamoni. Closing the folder, Minister Uram then pressed down her intercom button.

A beep and then a voice from the other end. "Yes, Minsiter?"

"Contact Minister Arani and let him know I'll want to have a meeting to discuss a potential SDL development."

"Right away Minister."

Minsiter Uram let go of the intercom button and then tapped in a few buttons to her keypad on the desk. A monitor popped up a few seconds later. In the absence of the Patriarch the individual cabinet members had been given authority to govern their spheres of influence as best they could on his behalf. Naturally he was always given an update on what was going on, but this was something that couldn't wait right now and Minister Uram was sure this was the course that he would want taken.

She waited for the screen to light up and the device to come online.

"Call Lamoni." she stated, then waited as the vid-phone dialed across the region.

It picked up, but before the other person on the line could respond, she began speaking.

"This is Minister Danielle Uram, speaking on behalf of His Highness, Patriarch Khara. We are regretted to hear about the recent developments in Hockey Canada. If it were still feasible, we would push for a diplomatic sit-down in neutral territory. However, judging from the tone in their announcement, it seems the Hockey Canadians are set on antagonizing the League and all her member nations. Once I am able to get in touch with the Minister of Defense, I will propose sending some of our forces to the Oliverrian border to help defend them should the Hockey Canadians decide to go ahead with their un-provoked agression."

Minister Uram then paused, realizing she had shot her mouth off somewhat, smiled at the screen, and then toke a breath. "My apologies, I did not mean to be rude."

After making sure that the line was encrypted (it was), Lamonian Foreign Minister Tanya Ley took great pains to make her face look as if she weren't perturbed at the mini-lecture.

"Greetings, Minister Uram," she stated "It does not appear likely that Hockey Canada will back down. They might well think that since the SDL is at war with the SAAS, we won't be able to spare forces to hit them back.

Either way, we have already begun to deploy twenty million troops to help Oliverry defend themselves. We are hopeful that the addition of these troops might convince Di Lorenzi to back down, but we honestly do not think that she will do so. We also don't think that she'll listen to reason."

High, High above the Oliverry Capital.

One quick series of supersonic cruises later, and the Starling found itself being clamped to the FNA Feather again. The entire active carrier fleet, sans a patrol left at Abattoir, was present, numbering 2,200 airships in all. This was split up into 200 squadrons each consisting of a capital and ten escorts, which in turn held a full fighter and bomber wing per group. In addition, each squadron was the home to a whole brigade of 5,000 of The Falcon's Finest. All in all, that made a rather sexy million Falcanian soldiers. Perhaps this could be considered meagre compared to Lamoni's twenty million deploying alongside, until you realise that compared to the sheer zergrush of Lamonian flesh, Falcanian military doctrine is totally different. As Hockey Canada would soon discover.

Falcon was pacing inside the bridge. He had to get Lamoni and Khazaron's perspective on this. He got a lackey to type up a message.

Despite a full force being activated to deal a lethal blow to all Starblaydi plans in southern Atlantian Oceania, there was no possible way Dala'a could stand and watch as SDL breathren were threatened. By a former SDL ally, nonetheless.

Truth be told, Nedalia had always had a sort of mutual neutral-ness with Hockey Canada. We never step on your toes, you haven't on ours, we're fine type of deal. No more. Oliverry had called, much like The Lowland Clans did, and Nedalia would answer, ofcourse.

Dala'a got on the phone with one of her closest allies.

"King Falcon...How are you? I'm going to need one those starship thingies to come and pick me up."

Posted by: Falcania Mar 20 2007, 02:43 PM
Nedalia

Falcon had gone one better, and sent his own personal plane to jet down to one of his closest allies. The Starling touched down on the runway, as Dala waited patiently. The door opened. Falcon leaned out of the portal and gave the Falcanian salute. "Anytime you like, Presidente. The meter's running on this thing." He grinned.

Posted by: Lamoni Mar 21 2007, 05:56 AM
President Stinson boarded his private plane, which then took a circuitous route to make it to the rendevous with the Falcanians. Once inside the patrol range of the Falcanian PT F-4 BOP fighters, the Lamonian presidential plane was safe from attack.

After the communications formalities were over with, the plane was granted clearance to land inside the FNA Rington. President Stinson looked out of one of the windows in complete fascination. He'd never been inside of the Falcanian airships, but he wasn't going to miss this show for the world. The Lamonian plane landed safely inside the hangar, and President Stinson came out the plane's door after the security people had deemed it safe.

As Patriarch Khara was away on "business" in the Lowland Clans, Minister Uram would be taking his place at the meeting. She gave notice to her office to have Minister Arani contact her on her cell once he got her message, and she immediately left for the airport. It was quite a several hour flight, during which the minister decided to review her files on Hockey Canada and Oliverry to better prep for the situation ahead. Once the pilots gave her the signal that they where on final approach to the Falcanian airship, she packed up her notes in her briefcase and readied herself for the meeting ahead.

After landing she stepped out of the plane, nodding at the security and smiling as she saw that the Lamonians had already arrived. She walked over to President Stinson and offered her hand. "A pleasure to meet you Mr. President. I am Danielle Uram, Minister of Foreign affairs to His Highness Patriarch Khara."

Status Aran, faithful lackey to The Falcon, was waiting on the FNA Rington to greet the leaders. He shook Stinson by the hand as he stepped off the plane. "President Stinson, it's a pleasure to meet you, and Minister Uram? The Rington is on course to rendezvous with the FNA Feather promptly. In the meantime if you'd accompany to the lounge..?"

Posted by: Lamoni Mar 21 2007, 02:57 PM
President Stinson took the offered hand of Khazaronian Minister of Foreign affairs, and shook it.

"And as you know, my name is Andrew Stinson, President of the Free Republic of Lamoni. How is Patriarch Khara doing? I haven't had the chance to meet him in person as yet."

Before he could get an answer, the Falcanian who had greeted them started towards the lounge. Shrugging, Stinson followed; presumably with Danielle Uram following.

Posted by: Khazaron Mar 21 2007, 04:00 PM
Danielle followed suit after the Falcanian, doing a double-take as she saw the wings. It wasn't that she hadn't seem the on video or picture before, but it was her first chance at seeing it up close, and well, it was bit strange to her. She kept her composure as she conversed with the Lamonian president.

"His Highness is doing fine. Currently with our Expeditionary Force near Alliance waters. Hopefully we can bring this Starblaydi war machine to a quick stop. On a somewhat related note, I must say the me, the Patriarch and indeed the entire cabinet were deeply saddened to hear of the death of your predecessor, President Stone. He was a great man and will be missed in the Dominion."

The fleet of was heading westward over the Hockey Canadian Mountains that etched out the border towards not Oliverry directly, but Royal Island. The landing craft had cast off from the Western coast of Ysk province and quickly blasted through the water while B2 bombers escourted by Hockey Canadian F-4s zoomed overhead. The splashes of the water on the coast were quickly met with steel and feet as hundreds of thousands of Hockey Canadians set foot ashore. The B2s had used JDAM-guided "dumb bombs" to strike at any threatening targets on the Island just minutes before the landing began. Several minutes after the original infantry had landed, the artillery arrived in full force.

The Hockey Canadian mainland had been far from neglected. Since mountains surrounded Hockey Canada, it wouldn't be hard t fortify at all. The Hockey Canadian war machine was in full bore and it was evident at all mountain passes and riverbends in Hockey Canada. The beaches had been fortified to withstand bombs, infantry and any shelling that would come it's way. There was no need to worry about Hockey Canadian airspace. Detection stations all over the nation and the mountain range offered enough stalling for an attacker so the Canuck Air Force and Anti-Aircraft could mobilize.

Any Oliverrians within the country were not given the option to leave. Since they were now in a conflict with Hockey Canada, they would be treated like an enemy within the nation. Any Oliverrians or anyone with Oliverrian background were isolated into camps where they were set to work immediately to harvest raw materials to fuel Hockey Canada as they went to war. No contact, nobody left.

Royal Island or "Ile-Royale"'s beaches were stormed and quickly fortified where Hockey Canadian positions were established. The SDL had been planning for an attack on the Hockey Canadian mainland, and with less than 1/4 of the Hockey Canadian Forces going almost unopposed aside from local minor resistance, there was nothing to really stop the Hockey Canadian onslaught of the island. From everywhere south of Ville-Royale was in immediate danger of Hockey Canadian infantry attack. Bombers had continue to dot the island with deadly cargo non-stop while the F-4s patroled the waters between Oliverry and Royal Island. Waiting for any opposition.

OOC:

I attacked Ile-Royale because according to your RPs, it didn't seem like any SDL nations had landed there and you were not expecting an attack there. I'm also curious if I can really just get the rest of Ile-Royale so it will play as like a Saigon or Iwo Jima later on in the roleplay when the Hockey Canadians are starting to bare the force of the SDL. I'm thinking of an "evil wins at first, good prevails" attitude. Some opinions?

Posted by: Delesa Mar 21 2007, 06:54 PM
ooc: good idea, and i wouldn't mind trying an amphibious assult with an airborne, like d-day, but that would all have to depend on the other SDL nations and Oliverry

Bazalonian naval forces were on their way. Finally approaching Oliverry too late to halt the Hockey Canadian thrust into Oliverrian territory but just in time. A large flotilla around 40 in total Navarre-class submarines produced by the Portland Iron Works Arrived first. Just in time to enter restricted warfare on Hockey Canadian ships.

A war declaration was issued just moments before the first torpedos were fired.

Soon following them were 20 Trinity nuclear battleships, 60 Wixted Frigates, 1 Adamant Battleship, 10 Swiftsures with appropriate fighter and bomber capacity. As well as approximately 80 Samuel B. Roberts Trimaran AA Destroyers.

Other Heavy equipment was flown in by Military Cargo planes, 1,000 Porcupine Mobile SAM Launches as well as 1,000 units of both T-Rex and Panther Self-Propelled Artillery, 280mm and 155mm respectively. Being escourted by wings of the nations SZ-23 airforce. 500 F-150 Ebonhawks also on their way to Oliverry to aid in defense.

1 Million personnel from the Bazalonian Army was on their way, approx imately 700,000 figting force with another 400,000 support staff in Bazalonia.

President Dala'a was on board the Falcanian craft, but in reality, her mind was elsewhere. Not that Oliverry didn't matter, quite the contrary; she had made a point to attend the current meeting in person. Such was the importance of the Oliverry-Hockey Canadian situation.

However, there was also hundred of thousands Nedalian troops ready to pound on to the Hypocrian island of Sinistra, and send Starblaydia back to the hellhole it came from. Ofcourse, there was also a number believed to be in the thousands of NGM Elite Forces in The Lowland Clans fighting a losing battle. She got off the phone, and shifted her focus back to the matter at hand.

"Greetings Gentlemen...and Lady," she said with a smile to the oncoming leaders. "For those of you who I haven't had the pleasure of meeting, I'm President Yasmine Dala'a of Nedalia."

The FNA Rington had lowered its hangar, and had engaged the docking clamps with the end of the Feather's runway. Status handed a pair of respirators and parachutes to Stinson and Uram. "You may find these helpful, there's not a lot of oxygen up here. This isn't an environment tailored for regs. I'm afraid we'll have to walk. Try to be brisk, it's fairly cold for regs." He began to lead them inside he structure of the airship.

Just as they got into the conference lounge, a small klaxon began to whirr. "Don't worry, we're just descending to pick up craft. Presumably The Falcon's jet has arrived."

Indeed it had. The Starling came to a halt on the runway. Dala was issued with the same respirator and parachute, and led into the Conference lounge.

"Greetings Gentlemen...and Lady," she said with a smile to the oncoming leaders. "For those of you who I haven't had the pleasure of meeting, I'm President Yasmine Dala'a of Nedalia."

"Ah, Stinson," said Falcon, shaking his hand. "And you must be Minister Uram, I presume. Welcome to my humble, airborne abode."

General Oumourov looked down at the report his Major had given him as he sat at the Khybhaz Pass looking down over Oliverrian flatlands. A light snow was falling and nothing seemed to be too out of the ordinary. If you give exception to the 10 million strong ready to attack Oliverry on a full-out attack. The SDL had acted to aid Oliverry in whatever they needed and their support in numbers had been formidible. Hockey Canada may not have had the support, but definately the numbers to take the fight to the SDL if there was opposition.

"Falcania, Lamoni and Bazalonia joined in to help our little french -explicitive removed-ers." The general said to nobody in particular.

"I think it should be entertaining to also see Khazaron in the fight too." a vocie said from behind the General. Admiral Alexiev stood behind him with his intimidating size. "But I know a way we can keep those Falcanian freaks at bay."

"What were you suggesting Admiral?"

"Forecast calls for heavy snow in Hockey Canada for the next 4 days, along with rain in Oliverry. Since the Falcanians find it hard to fight in rain and can risk death, we can use our immunity to the elements to attack while we can."

"An excellent ploy Admiral. But do you think you can take out some Oliverrian targets just hundreds of feet ahead of our infantry? It is an effective but dangerous ploy."

"My JDAMs on the 'dumb' bombs should work effective enough against selected targets. Once we finally get rid of those we can attack using even more accuracy and destruction. Have no fear General, things are in good hands."

"I want a stick and sickle sitting in Marshalliston within the month."

"You'll get it General, and more."

"Excellent news. How about suspected spies and foreigners?"

"All have been sent to labour camps to work off anything left in them. It will help us in the long fight anyways. Keeping them down and working will keep them in line."

"I don't want any genocide or huge scandal on my hands. Last thing we want is to appear monsters."

"Monsters put up a better fight than regular humans."

"I suppose you'd know?"

"Ask the poor sons-of-bitches who fought against us on Ile-Royale."

The two men laughed as the snow came down harder and engines fired up for attack the following day.

Danielle nodded and shook hands with President Dala'a. "A pleasure to meet you Madame President." After the arrival of King Falcon, she shook hands with him as well and equipped the parachute and oxygen she was handed. It seemed a bit awkward for her at first, but after a few minutes, she seemed to be getting the hang of it. As she followed the rest of the party into the conference room her cell phone began to ring, she smiled and excused herself from the group momentarily.

Behind the Bazalonian Naval Flotilla, the first of the Lamonian troopships were approaching Oliverry. Onboard the first five ships were five regiments of Lamonian Infantry. Lamonian airliners were also with the group, bringing in yet more troops and supplies to aid Oliverry. All of them were to make landings on and around Oliverry's capitol, presuming that the government agreed. Until the rest of the allied forces arrived, they would need to hold the strategic objectives that Hockey Canada might attack.

----------------------------------------

"It is good to meet you, Madame President," Stinson said. He then shook hands with her, and then shook hands with King Falcon. He had frankly enjoyed the transfer from one airship to another. It was certainly more exciting than siting behind his desk and telling others what to do. After all of the introductions were out of the way, Stinson sat on a nearby chair, and waited for the meeting to start.

OOC: Quick bit of background.

Nedalia, Khazaron, Lamoni and Falcania go back a *long* way. We started the FLMS, which flopped, then the somewhat more successful Strategic Defence League, or SDL. A number of nations joined this alliance, seen as the yang to the SAAS's Yin. Hockey Canada was one of these members, as is Oliverry. And Bazalonia, come to think of it.

But now Hockey Canada is pissed off, for some reason, and wants to take over Oliverry. As Oliverry is one of the SDL, we are all piling in to save it. Well, the active members anyway.

FNA Feather - Conference Lounge

As the leaders took their seats, Falcon turned to the window. It was strange. He had fond memories of the old days - Stone, Khara, Bren and he. Stone and Bren were dead, now, and Khara was having health problems, or so he had heard - in any case he was sending a representative rather than arriving in person. Clearly it was up to one of them to shuffle off the mortal coil sometime soon. Stinson and Dala were good presidents, certainly, just the people to be running their countries, but... they just weren't their predecessors. That was it. He was just feeling old.

Waving the thoughts from his mind, he turned to his fellow leaders with a broad grin. "Ladies, and gentlemen. What a predicament this is, eh? Hockey Canada has always been one of our strongest allies - I even remember offering to bolster her airforce! It is a queer thought indeed to think that our Birds of Prey, designed and manufactured in Falcania, Nedalia, Lamoni and Khazaron, will be matched against their production brethren - who amongst those factory workers would ever imagine that this plane would be used to destroy the last one down the production line? These weapons of war, provided in the notion of friendship, turned upon us - it is a concept most alien."

He paused. "Enough philosophising. Master Aran, have some refreshments brought through, if you would. Fellow leaders, it is time to talk strategies. I'm sure you've seen those cumulonimbus formations spreading over the border. Those spell rain - a hideous thought for my people. It is regrettable, but I am afraid that until those stormclouds clear, I shall only be able to offer airborne support - still a sizeable advantage, but nowhere near the leverage we could achieve with my soldiers. Grim indeed, but I'm sure that Stinson has brought more than enough soldiers for everyone!" He allowed a laugh, before he continued.

"It is interesting to note that our Bazalonian cousins have brought their sizeable flotilla onto the table. It is a recent development, but nonetheless it should be sufficient to tie up the Hocanucks down in the drink." He paused.

"My biggest worry, leaders, is the massive infantry wave. Ten million soldiers, according to Oliverrian intelligence. Even "Zergrush" Stinson has only a quarter of that. Sheer numbers may prove our downfall unless these stormheads clear. Regrettably until then the only thing I can do is tie up their airforce - but then, we are the true Birds of Prey, eh? That should present no problem." He was interrupted by attractive (in a feathery sort of way) tea lady, who pushed in a trolley of tea, biscuits, and prized Lamonian vodka.

"Right now, we must prioritise. Stinson, Dala... Uram? Any contributions?"

"Yes" replied Daltrey "I came for a specific reason. This is where they're holding the's UMSGen3's right?"

"yes what do you want with them?"

"let's just say,I wanna do some Beta testing."

"But why sir?"

"I'm singlehandedly gonna kick Hockey Canada's ass"

"Sir are you crazy!"

"No, I know........it's just that for thirty years I've wanted to do something like this. I'm shur your dad's told you about my previuos job."

"Oh yeah I forgot........"

Danielle had just come back from talking on her cell phone, catching the gist of what King Falcon was talking about. She toke her seat and nodded to everyone present. "I just got off of the phone with Minister of Defense, Michael Arani. He has given the green light to assure you we will send whatever is necessary to help defend our allies. The most likely forms of aid that we can offer and actually make a noticeable effect in would be in infantry and perhaps naval presence. Although if needed we can give some air support as well."

OOC: Hahaha, awesome. Not sure if anyone else will accept this but I sure as hell will. Unfortunately, you do know that it will get annihilated fairly quickly, if it's just one suit against the whole Hockey Canadian airforce? Hell, I'll probably shoot it down if I don't ICly know what it is.

OOC: I'm tempted to let it in just for the 'coolness' factor. I want to wait and see what HC says, though.

IC: After the Khazaronian Minster for Foreign Affairs finished, Stinson gave a polite pause, and then started speaking. "If the Falcanian troops can't fight in the rain, then we are going to have to hold the strategic objectives. In Hockey Canada's mind, this would likely equate to major cities, and strategic resources. Oliverrian and Lamonian troops can do that, but it would be at a murderous cost.

What we can do is to use the allied naval and air forces to launch a pre-emptive strike on Hockey Canadian forces. If I were them, i'd put radar stations all over those mountains, but there HAS to be some blind spots. If we could get past any possible 'Radar Fence,' even if it means blowing some Radar Stations up, then the allied Air Forces can launch sucessful strikes that will delay the Hockey Canadian forces, and even cut them off from supplies. It would be nice to have some intelligence sources inside of Hockey Canada, though."

OOC: Yeah... that's a major 'no' on the whole flight suit thing. You can't have some huge thing run by one guy take on a huge air force. Why don't you get your friend Master Chief and Chuck Norris to help you. Just give up on life now. The space thing seems kind of both stupid and reckless. Say you even develop a space program, technology in the short amount of time, and even devise a weapon good enough to get me. You'll be using futuristic technology in a modern-day roleplay. Just give up on life kid. I've calculated that my Infantry will have about 40 mil people in it by multiplying my population by making it an incredibly low percentage of my population. That's just for volunteers, without conscripting or anything else. Keep the OOCs to a minimum please.

I would also like an idea to where your armed forces are. As you'll read in my roleplay, it is very confusing to figure out if you're countering or not in the chaos of attack.

IC:

There was mostly silence in Francie Sud. The rain pitter-pattered against rooftops and the occasional thundering gave the appearance of a quiet night. Meanwhile Hockey Canadian B2 bombers and Kimogila-Grade self-propelled bombs flew silently overhead. The JDAM-guided "dumb-bombs" were nearly depleted and the surplus of the old technology was almost depleted. This was excellent news for the Hockey Canadian Air Force because they could use even deadlier and mroe accurate bombs for the bombing of Oliverry. Escourted by Hockey Canadian F-4 and F-13 fighters, they scanned the area over Saint-Francois, Val-du-rocher, Lemaireville, and to much dismay Communiste ready to unload the bombs.

The rain may have muffled engines purring overhead, but not the explosions dropped.

When the fleet had made their last circle over southern Francie-Sud, the signal was given as 5,000 tanks poured through the passes down roads and highways towards their intended destinations. Troop transports sped at 80 k/ph towards destinations and hotbed cities that would provide some resistance from the Hockey Canadian onslaught. Cities began to light up with explosions from both bombs and flares dropped by the bombers to indicate the city was prepared for ground attack.

Civilians caught resisting the Hockey Canadians were shot without question. Those that would not resist would continue to cope with the new occupation. Riding up the Autoroute Federale and the Principales that connected the four cities of attack, 1,250 T-89s each powered their way into the four cities and quickly set up defense for a counterattack from SDL or other niusances.

100,000 infantry marched into each city and stepped onto Oliverrian soil killing resistances in their way. The disruption of an Oliverrian radio tower and radar station gave Hockey Canada access into any local transmission attempts and centred any locations where they were originating. Occupation wasn't a trustworthy thing, and wouldn't be when citizens would be isolated from their own country to be left deaf, blind and dumb.

Meanwhile Ile-Royale was being fortified after a quick Hockey Canadian victory where no militia resistance was being formed. Ville-Royale had taken several hours to cleanse of 'unagreeable' people but by the night when the bombing of Francie-Sud was taking place, the hockey stick and sickle was flying proudly over the provincial capital. An underground tunnel was discovered not long after Fallington well... fell. Leading from Pontville through to Ile-Royale, Hockey Canada realized this could provide some sort of advantage for the defenders of Oliverry. Without hesitation, a demolition crew was assigned to rig the tunnel so it collapsed on the western point of the island. Water gushed through the gape in the tunnel and would give the Oliverrian mainland a little wet surprise.

Hockey Canadian subs hugged the coast alongside battleships, destroyers and carriers. Reports of Bazalonian floatillas were floating like the pollution in the harbours, but no such thing was confirmed yet in Hockey Canadian eyes. The invasion would be in full force soon.

Falcon listened to Stinson's proposition. "Good idea, but impossible to execute. Falcania may have the superior airforce, but the Hocanucks are fighting in their own skies. More to the point, they will have hidden their radar stations stupendously well, for the express reason that their purpose is to stop us breaking through. We could probe their detection network, but it would take far too long, cost too many planes, and ultimately give away our position."

At this point Status Aran burst in. "Sire, it has begun!"

Falcon solemnly looked at Aran. "The invasion?" he asked, grimly.

"Yes, sire. The Hocanucks have crossed the border, first with bombers, then with tanks and men. Saint-Francois, Communiste, Val-du-rocher, and Lemaireville. All have fallen."

Falcon turned away, to the window. "Goddamn it, Status, why doesn't anybody tell me these things?"

"Sire, it was a sudden attack. We didn't get wind that anything was wrong until... Honestly, sire, it was when the TV in the Officer's Mess stopped getting the Sports Channel. They took the radio and TV stations, and we believe they've seized a radar station too."

Falcon sighed, and sat. "There's no point bombing the cities. We're here to save the people, not kill them. We'd have to get them in transit." He gestured to a map projected onto an interactive whiteboard on the wall. "They've taken the south of Francie-Sud. Chances are they'll strike... I have no idea." He frowned. "We're going to have to fragment the fleet. Send four canzin* squadrons... here, to Beaunemar, in northern Francie-Sud, and another four canzin to Colmundy, which is pretty close to the Hocanuck border. That's all we can do for now."

* Canzin is a Falcanian dialect word for fifteen, just as the English dozen is twelve

As the Bazalonian sattelite orbited it as quickly as it could flicked between the many hostspots of Battle in the region. This one sattelite managed to get an accurate image of the Hockey Canadian invasion. The images that streamed from the sattelite were enough in detail that civilians could obvious been seen "taken out" for either resisting the Hockey Canadian forces or purely for being 'undesirable'. Perhaps the Hockey Canadians were going on a racial cleansing rampage or indeed something else marked them out. Information on their exact targets was limited but the Bazalonians did have they though was very concerning.

Meanwhile En-route to Oliverry the Bazalonian Naval forces were coming, Cargo planes and their cargo were coming into Olivery giving Ile-Royale a wide berth. Hopefully it was not too late for the Bazalonian forces to make an impact, orders where given for everything to be done ASAP. The forces needed to be there and they needed to be there yesterday.

The flow of planes continued and the Naval forces inched closer, They be involved in Battle... Soon

Posted by: Lamoni Mar 24 2007, 03:37 AM
(OOC: Lamonian Regiments comprise 1,500 to 2,000 troops each. Airliner seating figures based on the RL Boeing 777.)

The Lamonian troopships were still on station behind the Bazalonian Warships. There were now 105 of them, each holding a regiment of infantry and their equipment. While giving Ile-Royale the same wide berth that the Bazalonians were, the troops were eager to go ashore; as the Army troops thought of the ships as giant targets.

With reports of Hockey Canada finally beginning their main invasion of Oliverry, these troops were going to land in Cote Ouest. From there, they would hopefully be met by Oliverrian troops who would direct them to where they were needed.

At the same time, Lamonian airliners were also bringing in troops and supplies at a rate of 328 troops per trip. While a force movement of this scale was nothing to sneeze at, things were just getting started as more airliners and ships were being nationalized for the purpose.

Skies Above Saint-Denis

The rain was pelting down in a major fashion. Far too damp for an unsheltered Falcanian. However, they needed to stop the advance. Planes didn't need to consider the adverse weather conditions - at least, not the Falcanian planes.

---

The FNA Kate's Bay and the FNA Alexandreatham cautiously dipped their hangars to the operational height of 19,000 metres above sea level. In the control deck, Ctrl. San Halford spoke into his headset. "Bomber wings Alexandreatham and Kate's Bay, you are cleared for deployment. Fighter wings Alexandreatham and Kates's Bay are cleared to follow."

---

The SB-6 Swans swept back their wings and proceeded to move to the advancing Hocanuck column. Each carried their standard armament of two rotary "six-gun" non-nuclear cruise missile launchers. The Birds of Prey followed behind, each with a surface strike loadout.

Suddenly the Swans swept out their wings, swooping round and widely encircling the tanks. The destruction was like a dance. The bombers would cross up out of their bombing circle and divebomb the tanks, unleashing their cruise missiles at stupidly short range. A gratuitous waste of money, but these bombers had yet to receive their gunship upgrade. Besides, they did the job.

Then the circle broke, as the bombers had expended their ammunition. The Birds of Prey began systematically divebombing the advancing column. With mighty fwooshes and explosions, they depleted their load, turned tail and returned to their airship.

Panic.

The infantry unit that had been marching north towards the northern region of Francie-Sud had been caught off guard and the air strike against them had been a disaster. 921 of the 1,000 strong patrol group had been completely devastated with 34 wounded and 11 missing. Notably, Colonel Arkady Chernasov, decorated hero for stopping a plot to overthrow a small town in Ysk and hold it hsotage unless funding towards nuclear arms was cut. The unit had been unprotected by tanks, armed vehicles or air support. Not in the norm for Hockey Canadian advances. This was the first strike against Hockey Canadian forces during the campaign in Hockey Canada, and would not go unpunished.

Deception.

Prime Minister Ondrea Di Lorenzi glanced down at the document that was sent to her regarding the attack only moments after it occurred. Wanting to stay on top of the issue (OOC: no puns or I'll nuke you all), she sat down in her office overlooking Otnorot and stared out the window to gaze at the falling snowflakes.

Amazing. She thought to herself. One snowflake is meaningless and weak, but when together in a mass nothing can stop the power of a storm or avalanche. She thought it over for another few minutes and finally got an idea.

"Commander Tikhonov." she said into her comm. on her desk.

"Yes Ma'am?" the reply buzzed in.

"Take a note Commander. I want to make sure a 'secret' message is intercepted by the SDL's forces."

"You WANT it to be intercepted Ma'am?"

"You heard me Commander. Make in the message that I'm sending 500,000 strong from Hockey Canada to Tastragnant to rendezvous with the forces already in Francie-Sud and will move north towards the eastern regions of Oliverry. While I want your real forces to send 12 million strong including planes, tanks and the whole 9 yards to take Cote-Ouest while an amphibious landing is made from Ile-Royale. This should keep their forces in disarray and mislead on what is happening and what isn't."

"It will be done immediately ma'am."

"Excellent Commander. The rain is expected to be even heavier in Western Oliverry tomorrow. I want to make sure lightning strikes the SDL's forces there. Quick and painless for them."

The Lamonian forces were landing in Cote-Ouest, and were immediately setting up defensive positions. Until the rest of the allied forces arrived, they would have to hold off any enemy attack that was aimed in that direction.

The Lamonians were also stunned to find absolutely no Oliverrian troops anywhere near them. After sending a message by courier about their landing sites, the Lamonians expected that SOMEONE from Oliverry would be there to fill them in on the Oliverrian defensive preperations. So far though, there had been no one.

Despite the oddity, the troops continued to dig in while more Lamonian troops arrived all the time. There were now approximately 300,000 Lamonian troops on the beach head.

After conversing some more with Minister Arani, and making a quick call to Patriarch Khara while he was away with the KEF, Minister Uram began coordinating efforts with President Stinson to make sure the Lamoni and Khazaronian forces would be able to provide adequate and efficient support to the besieged Oliverrians. Seeing as how they where drawing these men from recently called up units, it would take a bit longer for them to join up, but no more the a few days or so. Minister Arani himself mad sure to call up the Oliverrian and Lamonian leaders, assuring them that he would be sending 400,000 initial troops, with the possibility of more in the near future once resources where more accurately assessed.

National Strategic Defence Base/Underground Bunker/Meeting Room

The Prime Minister stepped through the door, careful not to trip on the lip on of the doorway, mush like that of a submarine. The door closed behind him, two Royal Guard soldiers beyond that stood at the alert, pointless if you asked the Prime Minister, as he was in the middle of one of Delesa'a most secure military instalations, at a good hundred meters of rock above him, and some of the most sophisticated security and detection systems known to man, and if something got past all that, two guards stood in the way? Lester smirked, Defence Minister Gordan Brigman just barely noticing.

"What is it Lester?" he asked.

"Oh nothing, let's just get the meeting over with." Lester took the seat at the head of the table, Gordan to the right and the High Admiral of the Delesa Navy to his left. Down each side were members of the National Defense Council, Generals, Air Marshal, Majors in Intelligence and so on. The top brass in each respective field. Including the Commissioner of the National Police and Secret Police. They were assembled here to decide the fate of the Armed Forces over the increased hostilities in the region.

"Well sir, if I may start this off," a younger fellow stood from his chair further down the table and walked to the podium, a large projected screen of the Hockey Canada/Oliverry border and area,"As you all are well aware, Hockey Canada has started an offecive againt Oliverry. Reason? Unknown at this time, but we can guess, but thats not what im here for. The Canadian forces have met little or no resistance hence far, but several SDL nations have begun to ship troops to repeal the attack, including such nations as Khazaron, Lamoni, and Falcania. But most of those forces have yet to bare the brunt of the Canadian attack, and with numbers provided by intel and CIA, it's gonna be bloody. And just recently we intercepted a communication ordering several thousand more troops from HC to move to reendforce a postion and contiune the attack. SDL have aready begun to reroute their troops to the location, although it was fairly simple to get our hands on the message, so it's strange but no bigger, as the SDL will probally crush the attackers." He took a moment and took a sip of water. "Now the question is where are all the troops? Now most the troops have been pushed into battle, but as I propose that a seaborne assult is made along these shores," waving his hands on the coast, "that way HC will hopefully remove forces from the front line and reroute some of it's forces to counter the threat. Although the Commonwealth shouldn't do it alone we would need more troops to make the invation look like a real threat. For the moment, because Delesa has failed to disclose which side we are on offialy, nobody should and isn't shooting at us, and damn straight as we have done nothing wrong for the moment, if ever. So several ships, some from our submarine fleet and even merchant fleet from D4 industries, which they have lended for the time being, are floating out in international waters right beside the sea boundries of Starblaydia and HC, and they have supplied us with some information, although, most of it is rather boring as the fleets have stayed rather silent so far in this war."

No reason we still can't duke it out. Still could be potential for the SDL and Hockey Canada for a big conflict. Marshalliston is as far as I want to push, Stalingrad-like RP there, push me back to my borders... sets stage for a new RP.

OOC: That would work. The only question is how many people would be willing to continue this fight.

OOC: Started off with great momentum... a communist nation resorting to WMDs even while they're WINNING so far (don't worry, not godmoding, just pushing to the capital and from there on its our fight) would be a catastrophe. But we would more than likely only need to use the one WMD really just based on the fact we need a city levelled to fight in. But I like Delesa's idea.

If someone wants to pick up from the last scene of the RP, it can give me something to work with. I took Ile-Royale preparing a flank of Oliverry from the west along with the south that's already been invaded... should I say if Pontville falls, it'll be like a road directly to Marshalliston where the SDL falls back and repels me.

The troops had left Ile-Royale in full bore towards the Oliverrian coastline via boat, transport or air. The chunnel that had linked the Hockey Canadian controlled island had been a little more damp than expected, but provided just enough space for transports and tanks to line single file through the narrow underground corridor. The beach head in the distance for the Hockey Canadian boats and aircraft appeared to be a different story with hundreds of resistance fighters from Oliverry and thousands of SDL troops awaiting them. There was no doubt in the Hockey Canadian commanders' minds there would be a few mines, traps and other surprises waiting for them, but the superior numbers and arms in favour of Hockey Canada almost would predict the outcome.

Canuck B-2s hummed loudly incoming at the Oliverrian beach preparing to drop even more 'dumb-bombs' to rid the useless weapons from the Hockey Canadian arsenal rather than leave them sit in storage. At 1100 hours

"Good morning, early birds! This is Harley Whelan, and you're listening to Skyranger Radio. It's 7 AM, and today's forecast is good. A particularly warm weather front is bringing clear skies to a huge swathe of the region, but enjoy it while you can, because it's not gonna be here long. The 'sun stripe' as sad old meteorologists are calling it, stretches all the way from our beautiful Free Kingdom, all the way up through the southern Lowland Clans, right the way up to the eastern environs of Oliverry and Hockey Canada-" Falcon grinned as he turned off the radio, before swishing onto the bridge of the FNS Feather.

"Good morning, gentlemen. No, no, sit down, don't stand up on my account. I take it you've heard the weather forecast. Today we're going to get the sunniest weather we've had for ages. We won't get a better opportunity to attack."

"We'll need a target," commented Hack from the side. "And I note with great amusement that Hockey Canada is focusing all their might in the west. We can flank magnificently. This is textbook."

"Well, then. Let's get on with it."

The Lamonian troops had made it to Pontville, where they were finally able to establish a defensive presence after being left out in the informational 'cold' by Oliverry. The local citizenry was being most helpful, though. It didn't make up for the lack of a reception by the Oliverrian government, but it helped.

A motorcycle was found, and a Lamonian messenger was dispatched to Marshalliston in order to find out why there had been no response to repeated queries for communication.

OOC: I would figure that the messenger is just able to see the WMD in action by the time that he gets where he is going.

At 1100 hours the first bombs were away on anything that looked like it would offer heavy resistance towards HC opposition.

The plan of attack was simple: A 4 pronged attack via boat from Cote de Forrure, chunnel from Fallington, and air from the Avairsk Air Base in Hockey Canada and just outside Port Lusambeaux. The plan was designed to overwhealm the Strategic Defence League's forces with shear numbers and force from all sides, and eventually overtake Pontville for a highway route to Marshalliston. The plan was to go off without a hitch, just one distraction would set the Hockey Canadian military into a deadly alternative.

Admiral Tsygankov peered through binoculars from the bridge of the Battleship Oprichinik as the bombs blasted the city of Pontville and any beach fortifications that looked to be important. He smiled knowing that through all the carnage there were Strategic Defence League forces being scattered and killed. The first landing craft hit the beach and like a swarm of bees they flooded the beach clad in beach-camo clothing armed with Hockey Canada's latest rifle: The Trestik-07. A few larger objects appeared out of nowhere from the city of Pontville as an expected fear arose.

"Admiral! The SDL has released tanks and artillery! They're Lamonian class from what our air tells us. The plan?" A captain called from the deck below the bridge.

Without pausing, the admiral calmly placed a cigarette between his lips and lit it carefully before sighing.

"Tell our boys on the ground to keep pushing, we have them outmanned, outgunned and outprepared. Tell all naval power in the area to fire on the co-ordinates .025 degrees westward of our infantry's position. That should take care of any pesky artillery that gets in our way."

"Yes sir." The captain bellowed.

"And one more thing."

"That is, sir?"

"Have our bombers reload and pummel the -explicitive removed- out the city. I want it to be a near ruin for our men to fortify it. Any prisoners I want them kindly escourted back to... no. We'll have them fortify it for us."

"Didn't Prime Minister Di Lorenzi say to release any civilians that did not look to be a threat or offer resistance?"

"I'm in control of this operation, not her" the Admiral bellowed nearly biting his cigarette in half.

The Hockey Canadian troops had by now established a foothold on the beach of Pontville and the second amphibious landing squads had arrived for the push against Lamonian and Oliverrian resistance into the city where the bombers would pound relentlessly. Then, from absolutely nowhere, from the hole in the ground that was the Ile-Royale chunnel emerged Hockey Canadian T-98 tanks followed by armoured transports and supply vehicles. The city had been all but taken, but the Lamonians would still not lose this city without a fight.

On the eastern side of Oliverry, Generals Yukulov and Kuzkin were discussing the next plan of attack with their tank crews. It was settled they would both split up at Hallow's Corner attacking both Colon and Espoir for an eastward attack on Marshalliston when the orders came. The only problem was Hallow's corner would be watched over by a handful of infantry and artillery. Only a squad of fighters would sit at the airfield waiting for the next supply line to enter so the reinforcements could bring up the rear. The bulk of the Hockey Canadian armed forces was still entering Oliverry down from the Hockey Canadian mountains.

Battle of Pontville losses:

Air: 3 bombers, 13 damaged
Sea: 7 landing craft, 24 damaged
Land: 988 dead or missing , 2,367 wounded

Skies above Hallow's Corner

Falcon surveyed the small town below him. Supply trucks, armoured cars and tanks sat, complacently, not expecting an attack while war was being waged at the other end of the country. A junction in the supply route, a Jesus Nut in the propeller of the battlefield. A Jesus Nut about to be knocked out. And as any aircrewman knew, there was only one thing to do when the Jesus Nut came off the prop. Pray.

---

The aircrew prepared the squadron. Finally, they were seeing action. Pilots dashed to their Birds of Prey, and began to buckle themselves in as fresh missiles were loaded and tanks filled. The first flight were ready, and began to roll inexorably towards the end of the runway. Slowly, the leader on point approached the tip, and the runway tipped her gently off, her plane falling like a dart towards the ground, her wingmates following. As the air rushed through her steed's turbines, the pilot's heart pumped, the adrenaline in her bloodstream rocketing through her system. This was living. With a roar, his turbines started up, their buffers engineered for a drop takeoff. The flight levelled off out of the vertical dive, before they were dashed out of existence by a rudely omnipresent ground.

Freaking out, gunners ran to turrets and hasty defences were prepared before the true power of the fighters could be unleashed. Flak fire dotted the air as the fighters swooped overhead.

From within the cockpit, the leader chuckled to herself. These idiots were about to become mincemeat. Locking in on the principal operating flak battery, she painted a target for the laser bombs. Into her com she smirked "All yours, Six." Behind her left shoulder, Six unleashed a payload of AGMs into the missile system. The leader saw the crewmen scatter as their battery was destroyed. She spoke to her com again, "Show initiative, flight. If you don't like it, kill it." Orders given, she brought her fighter down lower, and readied the cannons. Whispering to herself, she instinctively lined up a strafing run. As the cannon rounds tore through the crowds of panicking people, with dust and blood flying, she felt the hot rush rising up her body, her breath shortening, with spasms coursing through her muscles. Panting heavily, she brought the nose up, out of the attack run, and heard three and five screaming with maniacal laughter over the com. As she relaxed, she brought her Bird of Prey around, took a deep breath, and rolled into a lock onto a supply truck.

---

Behind the initial wave, the flight of transports cut lower through the air, less stylishly reckless than their comrades, but with a distinct flair. In half a dozen locations, they swept over, dropping entire platoons of Falcanian shock troopers. Landing on their wings among the flames, they began to cull the panic brought by the fighters' disruption. In a bloody melée, claws slashed and bullets flew as the Hocanucks who had lost their heads in the assault began to do so in a literal sense. Finally, a hard pocket of organised soldiers enemy soldiers were left, holding a fort flanked by tank positions. The Falcanians pounced, lifted upon their wings, sinking claw and bullet into flesh as they charged. Defensive machine gun fire cut down several in their tracks, but the sheer fury against the surprised defenders was enough to sap the last drop of will. The fort was taken, the battle was won, and the Free Sunset* was hoisted atop the city.

General Nathaniel Dolan was in charge of both the Lamonian forces in Oliverry, as well as the local Oliverrian resistance fighters.

The General knew that he would not be likely to hold Pontville against a determined Canuck assault with the forces at his command. Accordingly, he had developed a hit and run strategy... all the way to Marshalliston, if need be. Combined with the allied intellegence of where the Falcanians would strike, it was entirely possible that the SDL forces could flank the Canucks, and force a decisive battle at Marshalliston. Until then, the SDL forces would whittle the Canuck forces down to size.

In the meantime, a limited portion of the Lamonian and Oliverrian forces (700 Lamonians, 300 Oliverrians) had been left in Pontville while the rest of the combined forces had slipped away in the night using terrain cover as much as possible.

As intelligence had predicted, the opening shots of the Battle of Pontville were fired by Canuck aircraft. The Combined Forces were dug in, but casualties were a given. When the tanks rolled in, 950 troops were left out of a total of 1,000. Decoys were in place to make it look like there were more SDL troops there than there really was, and no one bothered to count how many of them were blown up, at the moment. They were too busy fighting, and making themselves look like multiple people.

The Combined Forces were also able to open up a hole in the Canuck lines with artillery at the begining of the fight. This enabled the Oliverrian Resistance fighters present to slip into the Canuck rear and attack Canuck supply lines.

When the pre-arranged fall back signal came, it was estimated that the small Combined Forces contingent at Pontville had killed at least 950 Canuck troops, and possibly more than that. Three bombers were destroyed, and possibly 13 were damaged from hand held SAMs. Seven Canuck landing craft had been sunk, with 24 being damaged. The 1,000 Combined Forces (CF) troops had just given the Canucks a minor black eye.

Onboard the FNS Feather, the logistic departments were abuzz with statistifying the recent battle. The entire complement of defending troops had been killed on the battlefield where they stood. Of the flight of ten fighters, one had received minor damage to a wing due to a stray bullet and the leader had a destroyed nosecone due to a landing accident caused by lack of concentration. Of the fifteen landing craft, one had crashed after disgorging its troop complement and would have to spend two weeks in maintenance. 300 Falcanian troops fought in the battle, of whom 12 were killed by machine-gun fire; 16 were injured slightly due to shots in the wing, and injuries resulting from "complicated" landings. One man had an arm in a sling, after becoming a victim of so-called "Friendly Stab." All in all, a marvellous success.

"Damn!"

The yell came from Field Marshall Evgeni Zherdev, assigned personally by Prime Minister Ondrea Di Lorenzi, upon learning Hallow's Corner had been a massacre.

"These numbers, it's like they were sleeping out there at that intersection! How can this be? It is almost unbelievable, these numbers."

Zherdev stopped to think for a moment and looked up. What he saw before him was a ruddy little tent surrounded with maps, plans and other high-ranking officers of the Hockey Canadian army. Taking a slow, lazy drag from his cigarette, he exhaled the smoke ok the map where the crimson that indicated the Hockey Canadian advance had one small jut on the eastern end of Oliverry. Generals Yukulov and Kuzkin had easily wasted Oliverrian forces at their assigned cities when they left Hallow's Corner, but the supply depot town they had departed to do so was in shambles.

"Do you know WHY I assigned you idiots to take the eastern plains of Oliverry?"

The officers didn't budge, either stiff with fear or clueless to answer.

"Because... We need a flatland route to -explicitive removed-ing hammer Marshalliston the moment the Pontville objective is carried out. A quick, simple rush on the city to take and defend it. But NOOO, you -explicitive removed-ers can't defend a god forsaken speck on a highway intersection!"

Pontville was still burned into the officer's minds as a great victory. The Lamonian troops had been forced into the city as planned and from then on bombs and artillery strikes levelled every last building. Thousands of civilians had been killed, hundreds of Lamonian troops sure to be as well. 5 million Hockey Canadian troops were now secure on Oliverrian soil with plenty more to come. The SDL was in it's own war with Starblaydia and the SAAS, back turned to the threat in the north. They had missed the size of the Pontville invasion and would pay dearly the following day. Airfields cleared of any resistance, a weapon had been prepared many would think unimaginable.

"I want 750,000 flanking Marshallison from the East, Yukulov can lead his tank squad to sweep left of the main force to clear any other resistance that divides our flank force from Hockey Canada and our western invasion of 5 million. Tomorrow will be a day to remember."

Pontville had been a massive success as any Lamonian soldiers not killed in the blast found alive were shot. Civilians had been taken on transports back to Hockey Canada and eventually face hard labour working in the Irkutsk wastelands. Tanks, planes, artillery and assault troops were in full position to attack at the given time to rush northeast at Marshalliston. Almost blitzing any city, town or obstacle that got in the force's path. The airfield forementioned had been cleared and ready, as Hockey Canada's mountains would be almost impossible to clear for the kind of weapon planned.

The Yakushev-Arkayd Nuclear Missile (YANM) was prepared to make 2 firsts in Atlantian Oceania: the first missile to be fired onto enemy territory with intent to kill, and the first missile to be fired above-ground and not from a silo. The target was one an elementary school student could've guessed. It was all leading down to this. The invasion, the blitzing forces to strike at Marshalliston, the massive army ready to descend on Oliverry like a tidal wave. With a steady launch, thousands of troops watched with awe as the weapon of mass destruction faded into the distance with Marshalliston a ready target. In the sea of faces, and perhaps wise to remain obscure, Ondrea Di Lorenzi watched the launch with a huge grin.

"That has got to be one of the most beautiful sights in history." she whispered to herself.

The messenger had gotten stuck behind a civilian traffic jam. 'And this in an area that was supposed to clear of civilians,' he grumped. Something was seriously wrong with the Oliverrian government, but he still didn't know what. It appeared that the Oliverrian police and military forces that he had found didn't know what was going on either. The messenger felt like bashing his head into a wall because of what he assumed to be a massive case of willful stupidity on the part of the Oliverrians. He was getting closer to Marshalliston, though. Maybe he would find out what was going on there.

---

The Combined forces were still making raids on the Canuck forces; while the 300 man Oliverrian resistance contingent that was 'left behind' was attacking Canuck supply runs. Slightly over half of the Combined Forces had fallen back on Marshalliston, where even a kindergartner would expect an attack. The mission to bleed the Canucks was still running "smoothly."

Here, a three tank platoon of Oliverrian tanks made a surprise attack on a Canuck armored column before withdrawing; there, was an infantry attack on Canuck frontline troops by Lamonian infantry before they too seemed to melt into the countryside like ghosts. Everywhere they went, they inflicted casualties.

Skies above Marshalliston

"FNS Khan, this is Hawkeye 6, reporting in. Marshalliston airspace is clear, no hostiles." Flight Lieutenant Robert Cedarwood yawned and lazily swooped around. "Returning to dock with FNS Rose Hill, over. Have someone pour me a drink, I'd kill for some Lamonian vodka."

"Hawkeye 6, this is FNS Khan, get your own damn drink, over" came the jovial reply. Cedarwood laughed as he put his com aside. There was an alarm in his ear, and a bright red dot on the HUD. Before he knew it, warning signs were buzzing all over the cockpit. Hastily he reset the com. "FNS Khan this is Hawkeye 6, unidentified object closing fast, heading 169 mark 58. It looks like a missile-" Realising the implications, he set a heading and accelerated to full afterburner.

Behind him, the missile pointed its big red nose at the city, and slammed into the pavement.

Behind him, everything went white.

His plane's controls fell dead and Cedarwood realised the weapon's EMP had knocked out his plane. Fortunately the canopy release was mechanical. He pulled the canopy release lever, but it jammed. Desperately he unsheathed his claws and prised at the mechanism, trying to force it. With a surge of adrenaline brought on by his proximity to death, he wedged it open, and the canopy slid backwards, buffeting Cedarwood as he sheathed his claws and reached down for the seat eject lever, praying it wouldn't jam like the canopy. It didn't. Flight Lieutenant Robert Cedarwood and his trusty pilot's seat were launched skyward. As he approached the peak of his ascent, he slapped the belt release and propelled himself from his chair. Currently he was 10,000 metres above sea level, and freefalling. Cedarwood ripped two cords on his chest and flaps at the back of his flight suit tore away, allowing his rippling tawny wings freedom. As he lowered into his dive he couldn't help but grin. Now he was just following nature's orders. At a more appropriate altitude he slowed his descent, braking with his wings, before levelling off into a glide. With mighty flaps he bore himself on the currents, reaching for his com. "FNS Rose Hill, this is Flight Lieutenant Cedarwood, I have ejected, and request a pickup near my location."

"Cedarwood, this is the FNS Rose Hill, we are sending out a helicopter to pick you up, expect a full debrief and a bottle of Lamonian vodka upon your return to the FNS Khan. Don't worry, we've got you."

FNA Khan

Cedarwood drank heavily from the bottle as his superior paced up and down the conference room. "It was definitely a nuclear missile, Cedarwood?"

"All due respect, sir, there's not a lot else it could have been. White flash, EMP, and in case you hadn't noticed, Marshalliston appears to have been nuked, sir. It could have been another nuclear missile that we weren't paying attention to, but seeing as I was very nearly fried crispier than Bick-Lick* in my own damn plane, I do believe that it was indeed that particular nuclear bloody missile."

* Bick-Lick is a popular fried falcon fast food franchise in Falcania. Lots of alliteration is involved.

"Any other day I'd have you court-martialed for inpertinence, Cedarwood, but quite frankly, there are more important things on my mind. Like the fact the Hocanucks have just detonated a thermonuclear device in the capital of Oliverry. I'll contact the King at once."

Posted by: Lamoni Sep 19 2007, 11:51 PM
The courier had passed the last of the Lamonian units two hours ago, and was near the outskirts of Marshalliston when he saw a white streak in the sky. As he headed into the city, he noticed that the white streak was heading for the city as well. While attempting to get out of the way, he saw a white flash that blinded him, and then he was killed when the shock wave threw him into a semi.

---

The Combined Forces HQ noticed the complete lack of radio traffic in Marshalliston. Not that there had been all that much before... mostly children playing with HAM radios, but even those had just cut off in mid sentence; not coming back.

A Oliverrian fighter was dispatched to take a look, and saw only a big wasteland where Marshalliston used to be. Knowing that only one type of weapon could cause this much devastation, he radioed back to base that Marshalliston had been hit by a nuclear weapon, and that his plane would likely need decontamination upon landing. Word of this reached the Combined Forces HQ via a link with the radio net that the fighter was on. The mood was grim as the THIRD nuclear crisis in AO history had just begun.

The fight against the Canuck forces would not end until the last Canucks were driven out of the now nationless territory.

"How was the Marshalliston situation?" General Yukulov asked his advisors at Camp Tykgol 50 kilometres away that was the rubble of Marshalliston.

"Completely obliterated sir." one said

"Like a second Stalingrad sir" another blurted.

"Perfect for the onset of winter sir." the first one said again.

"Perfect. We advance on the city in 0030 hours." Yukulov said smirking with what was sure to be a walkover on the Oliverrian capital.

The radio situation in Marshalliston had been all but hopeless for SDL nations. Hockey Canadian contacts had been trying to intercept any and all attempted communications in or out of the city but there had been nothing. Satellite readings using infrared scanning had shown little to no life within 5 kilometres of the original blast site just a few hundred feet from the city centre. The problem was there was thunder approaching... the artillery and infantry of the Hockey canadian forces.

The bombs and artillery strikes pummelled the rubble of Marshalliston just hundreds of feet ahead of Hockey Canadian advancing troops, told to not take any prisoners and in the event of seeing a wounded Oliverrian to kill on site as a form of mercy. The radiation and severity given would be too much for any help to get to the Oliverrians, sad as it was... it was the humane thing to do.

Yukulov sent one final commique to a known SDL channel of communication that would need to be translated from Hockey Canadian to English:

"Strategic Defense League members. Give up while you can or the result of any more conflict with us will only spell disaster. We are protecting our own beleifs by making ourselves known as a powerful presence in Atlantian Oceania. You had the chance to accept us as an ally and good use to the region but have not. You will pay for not learning from your conflict with Starblaydia, and also from not accepting Hockey Canada as an equal."

Lamonian forces that had seen combat in TLC were being rushed to the Hockey Canadian front. When it had become apparent that Marshalliston had been wiped off of the map, combined Lamonian and Oliverrian forces had converged on a location which protected them from the radioactive fallout.

When the message came from the Hockey Canadians, the Lamonians scoffed at it. All they had to do (thanks to the excellent transport system in those parts of TLC not damaged by the war) was to hold out for a week; and then Lamonian reinforcements would arrive. It was assumed that Falcanian reinforcements might show up before then as well.

Using a known Hockey Canadian frequency, a response was sent:

"Hockey Canadian occupiers of SDL land: We have no intention of giving up. As long as one soldier of your occupying forces encroaches on SDL land, we will fight you to the last man. Our forces have defeated the Starblaydi army, and we will defeat yours as well."

Bazalonian Forces in The Lowland Clans wouls soon find themselves with new orders, to converge with Lamonian and Oliverrian forces (who would ever thought Bazalonians would be fighting not only along side those damned frenchies but in their defense.)

The Bazalonians decided to make it public in Bazalonia as well as with the Bazalonian response.

"Bazalonia when it first arrived in this region signed up to be a apart of an organisation, the Strategic Defense League, an organisation that would provide defense against imperialistic aggression from states involved in the Strategic Alliance of Autocratic States. Hockey Canada too signed up to be apart of SDL, but that was a long time ago, Hockey Canada for a long time had it sights set against Footballia in an aggressive move and had campaigned for an aggressive action against that nation, however it was taken down repeatible as being inappropriate action and might I say full of hypocracy. It wasn't the SDL that shunned Hockey Canada but Hockey Canada that shunned the SDL and all that it stands for.

Bazalonia will not stand by and watch as a nation which according to latest intelligence sources used nuclear weapons against Oliverrian citizens, particularily the city of Marshallton. We had defeated The Great Lion and his forces, Viannor and her reign of terror is now over and it's now time for Hockey Canada to learn that it has met it's match."

The following message was sent through every possible frequency:

CODE

To everyone:

We would like to tell everyone that Marshalliston has never been destroyed. Right, many people left the city because of the war, but the city is still standing. We almost got hit by a nuclear weapon, but it failed to explode. After an investigation by the government in exile in Rubbermade, the weapon was countered by an unknown source. It is known that this source is not Oliverrian. In fact, a city has been destroyed. It was destroyed after a siege that lasted 1093 hours, in which the Oliverrians fought until the end. That city was really Indépendance, which was emptied when the Inteligence Agencies found out something was going on

We condemn this act and wish to tell everyone that the Oliverrian government has been planning an effective reply to the Hockey Canadians and that they should regret their decision to attack our proud nation.

President Dionne was able to send this message to everyone in the world. An army of 2,000,000 Oliverrians was waiting to be launched after the Hockey Canadians, with many other men being trained to beat them. As well, he was able to spark a Communist uprising in Sud-Françie. Those communists have always respected the Oliverrian central government and they were sparked against the Hockey Canadian military, as a militia. The Oliverrian government was able to give them arms and everything they needed subtedly, without the Hockey Canadians noticing it. All these militia and the army are actually waiting for a signal. But that, neither the SDL officials, neither the Hockey Canadians knew it. In fact, only a handful of Oliverrians knew about it.

Bertrand Dionne then decided to send the SDL officials a coded message, so that the Hockey Canadians couldn't get it:
CODE

To the leaders of the SDL:

We decided to finally fight with the Hockey Canadians. We are now ready and decided to beat them. May we convene in a secret place to discuss of strategy? It shall be appreciated.

OOC:

Now, we have a couple of things to settle:
1) I NEVER accepted to have one of my cities nuked. Therefore, I consider it as Godmod and it never happened
2) Please, RP your invasion of Île-Royale. Until it's not RPed, consider it as still controlled by the Oliverrian government.

Posted by: Hockey Canada Oct 12 2007, 12:23 PM
OOC:

1) Marshalliston is a wreck, not obliterated.
2) I did roleplay the invasion if you recall.

I would like to make it clear that a few SDL nations and I agreed that Marshalliston would be the Stalingrad of this war. Forces of equal number on both sides scrap it out in a wrecked city and Hockey Canadian forces would be defeated... starting a long, antagonizing retreat back to the Hockey canadian mountains/border. Just making this clear.

With the onset if winter IRL (Baz excepted) I'm planning for possibly a winter-like city scenario where we both have our victories and losses. But in the long run I am defeated and you guys beat the big, bad commies... for now tongue.gif

I will submit a roleplay once I return from work later on tonight or tomorrow.

Vehicles bearing down on the wrecked city of Marshalliston, the region's eyes on one city, and the intent to spread communism full-bore into Oliverry. It was a glorious day for Hockey Canada and her forces. Autoroutes Interprovinciales 30 and 35 towards Marshalliston were clogged in all 8 lanes with Hockey Canadian tanks, transports and artillery machinery.

The newest product of the Anadyr Drive Yards was the T-10K Tank. Protected with 275 mm thick armour, 129 mm D-25TA Gun, and 2 12.7 mm DShKM machine guns (could be replaced with coxial anti-aircraft guns to handle Falcanians) it was rushed to the front lines of the oncoming conflict with SDL forces.

The bombardment of Marshalliston still had not ceased since the initial strike. Even as forces approached the hammered city, radio and GPS had ensured that there would be no friendly fire on this day. From what Hockey Canadian forces knew, it was best to play it safe than sorry while moving in and establishing a hold on Marshalliston than just jump into things.

Back at Camp Tykgol, Yukulov looked over his documents sent to him estimating the number of forces each SDL nation had placed to defend Oli.

"Not bad. Not a bad turnout at all. Out of the 40 some odd million we have available to us, I won't exasperate 10 million to attack one god forsaken rock of a city. Looks like sending 5.25 million should do more than overwhealm the city and SDL forces catching them off guard."

Just then his advisor Chernikov entered the room.

"Sir, we have some resistance in the South of Oliverry. A few little skirmishes with locals between occupying forces are stirring up some concern back in Otnorot. Di Lorenzi is leaving this all up to your call sir."

"Imprison any suspected resistance members. If that is not possible, simply execute them and anyone affiliated to them. Family, friends, the whole bit."

"Aye sir".

OOC: I never agreed to have a nuke launched on MY OWN nation. This is not the SDL's nation, this is mine. And I can claim that the nuke never exploded. After all, I never said that no city was destroyed, I simply implied that you destroyed the wrong one, thinking it was Marshalliston. After all, it's pretty easy to change every sign indicating it's Marshalliston when 3/4 of the city's population is gone.

IC:
"Operation Loophole. Soyez prêt à la contre-attaque"

That was the long awaited message from the Sud-Francie "revolutionaries". They were dressed like Soviet revolutionaries and were ready to fight until the last man. Their leader, Nikolaï Larionov, was a former Hockey Canadian who emigrated in the 2020s. He hated "pussy dictator", as she'd call her, with so much passion that he was ready to kill her by himself. He had quite a troop. In fact, there were about 20,000,000 workers with him. They were people from all around Oliverry, but mainly from Sud-Francie, especially Saint-François and the City-State of Communiste. The Government of Oliverry, officially, condemned the revolutionaries, but informally, gave them support, both financial and military. It was estimated that 500,000 Oliverrian soldiers were able to reach the centre of the uprising.

Nikolaï Larionov: The President just gave us the signal to begin. Everybody is ready to fight?

Militians: Yes, Sir!

Nikolaï Larionov: Good! Now, I only have to press a button to start uprisings in every town of the province. Of the province? Wait... Now that I remember, there's also a militia in Waterloo. Yes, you understood: a militia in Hockey Canada. They might get defeated, but if we are able to spark some uprisings there, we might be able to divert them. I heard that 200,000 people were enough to cause some problems, because of the regime's secureness. Anyway... 3, 2, 1 *presses button*. There we go. In about an hour, we should control all of Sud-Françie's cities. It's now time to establish a real communist province in Oliverry!

*In Rubbermade*

Bertrand Dionne: Great! Now, they have launched the attack. We can now counter-attack, But first, I'll let our allies come in here to discuss about some things...

Posted by: Bazalonia Oct 12 2007, 06:43 PM
It didn't take very long at all for the Bazalonian military commander responsible for the Oliverrian situation and the other of his staff to come to discuss talks.

Where it was it must be very secret, for even he didn't know where they were going.

Posted by: Delesa Oct 12 2007, 06:58 PM
The Government of the United Commonwealth of Delesa is now willing to push back the soviet invaders. Prime Minister Lester Geddie is willing to commit a Divison of 20,000 men under the command of Major General William H. Stone. We are also willing to provide a carrier task force, on which the ground force will arrive. The United Commonwealth looks forward to a responce from the Oliverry government.

CODE
To: Members of the SDL willing to attend the meeting
From: Bertrand Dionne, President of Oliverry

Here are the instructions to get to the meeting:
1) Get to Parliament Building, in Rubbermade
2) Once there, an Oliverrian official will tell you exactly where the meeting is going to be held. Sorry to be so secretive, but there are chances that the Hockey Canadians might intercept this message.

CODE
To: Prime Minister Lester Geddie of Delesa
Cc: Major General William H. Stone
From: Bertrand Dionne, President of Oliverry

We will welcome the troops with pleasure. Any help from our allies is needed in this time of crisis and the troops may now enter Oliverry from the north.

Lamonian Vice President Antonio Cruz had reached the Rubbermade Parliament Building after a circuitous flight that had involved refueling in ten different Lamonian friendly nations. After that, the journey had switched to a government limo, which finally deposited him at his destination.

Ready to actually get down to business, Vice President Cruz was directed to the Oliverrian official. The Vice President shook hands with the man, and after the pleasantries were dealt with, he was still waiting to be told how to get to the meeting. He understood the need for security, but this was starting to get tiresome.

Posted by: Septentrionia Oct 13 2007, 01:10 AM
OOC: I'm going to make this short and sweet: once you get to the parliament, simply imply that you got the instructions and made it to the meeting.

Posted by: Delesa Oct 13 2007, 09:01 PM
Admiral Justin Yepp tooked at his watch, then took a sip of his tea. He leaned back in his chair and picled up the Delesa Journal newspaper. Yepp read the front page, catching up on the home news, yet he had been gone for a total of two days and yet Delesa had big news on a murder in St. Myhre of a Metropolitan Police officer in a raid. Need less to say the killer was apprehended by the National Police Service while trying to flee the city on a back road. He shook his head, everyone should know better then tokill an officer in Delesa. The NPS wouldn't sleep till you were caught. He checked his watch. There was a knock at his door.

"Enter." he barked, angered by the disturbing news. The door opened and the captain of the Nimitz class aircraft carrier HMDS. Honour walked in, removing his peak cap.

"Sir, forward scout ships have spotted the Oliverry coast Admiral. GPS indicates its the city of Saint-Francois."

"And who is it that is scouting?"

"The HMDS. Swiftsure and HMDS. Norfolk. Both Nansen Class Anti-Submarine Warfare Frigates sir. Brand new to the fleet. They are attempting to contact the dock authorities as we speak."

"Excellent, get me a helicopter ready, I want to get there right away. You take command of the fleet. Get to the docks as soon as possible. The first thing the General wants unloaded is his tank divison, then get the infantry off. The General will be coming with me I expect, and we should meet up with some Oliverrian military officials upon arrival. That is all."

"Aye aye sir." He saluted and left the cabin.

Posted by: Lamoni Oct 14 2007, 03:38 PM
The Vice President had made it to the meeting after getting the directions from the Oliverrian official back at the Rubbermade Parliament Building.

It appeared as though he might be the only non-Oliverrian in the room up until that point, so he sat down at a pro-offered chair, and did some unclassified work until the others decided to show up.

It wasn't long before the Bazalonian General arrived..

"General Barry Davis, Bazalonian Military command, What's all this secret meeting nonsense all about?" His words where terse and quick he was obviously a fan of action rather than talking and found that meetings like this just added unnecessary annoyance and overhead that jusut delays and frustrates the action.

Posted by: Falcania Oct 15 2007, 01:14 PM
"Make this quick." A Falcanian folded himself out of the shadows of the atrium. "Lieutenant-Colonel Smith Cockroft, from the Falcanian Legislated Intelligence Executive. As the most senior FLIE-trained officer, I was chosen to attend this meeting in enemy territory. As you may have gathered, it is difficult for our kind to blend in as a human, but much easier as a shadow." Cockroft seated himself, his dark grey plumage settling as he relaxed slightly - no FLIE officer would ever totally relax, or at least no living FLIE officer.

Bertrand Dionne: Hello, commander Davis. I simply want to speak quickly of strategy. Then, action will be undertaken... wait, I just received a call... Allô?

Nikolaï Larionov: Hello Mr. Dionne. I'm Nikolaï Larionov.

Bertrand Dionne: How is everything going so far in Sud-Francie?

Nikolaï Larionov: We now hold every city in there. The Hockey Canadians are kicked out of here... for now, at least. But we'll need help, once again, as we won't keep on for too long with what we've got.

Bertrand Dionne: We underestimated your needs?

Nikolaï Larionov: You did. Now, we'll only stay in Sud-Francie and control what we've got. But Hockey Canadians are coming back soon and we need the most you can give us so far. Once this war is over, we'll pay you back.

Bertrand Dionne: We'll send that to you soon. Bye.

*hangs phone*

Bertrand Dionne: Guys, I'm not going to wait for others to arrive and go straight forward: A group of rebels are allied with us right now. My government was able to send them equipment, food and everything they needed. They currently control Sud-Francie and are ready to collaborate with you all if you want. I could not tell you about that before, in case such a strategy couldn't work. But it seems that it worked and we are now, unofficially, controlling Sud-Francie. Of course, this aid is unknown by the Hockey Canadian military, and they should never learn about it... well, until we get to control the rest of Oliverry.

Posted by: Lamoni Oct 16 2007, 02:04 PM
So, what shall our strategy for kicking the Canucks out of Oliverry be? The Vice President asked. Looking at all the military men in the room, he felt at home. After all, he had once been in charge of the Lamonian Defense Intelligence Agency.
