Flashing Blades overcome Jungle Kittens in friendly match Young Starblaydis better their Vilitan Rivals
With both teams being knocked out the Under-21 World Championship exceedingly early, the Vilitan and Starblaydi FA's arranged a freindly match between the two sides, held at Vilita's Jlinal Cove Complex where not quitea full stadium greeted the teams, who both came bottom of their Championship qualifiying groups.
Surprise-starter Carmine Mbidzo sent the home fans crazy has he capitalised on an early mistake by left-back Vladimir Tsarev, jogging through with all the time in the world to put the ball past Markus Cragg.
The Vilitan's joy soon turned to dismay as rampaging Eomer Hall drove the front line forward with every touch, scoring after around 20 minutes from the edge of the area with a superb strike on the outside of his right foot. Hall kept going, but couldn't score again, despite a fair few more chances in both halves.
The man to breakthe deadlock was Starblaydi Captain Spike Martin, who came up from the back at a corner and lost his markers to power home a bullet header past the hands of goalkeeper Jimmy Kater to make it two.
Depsite heavy pressure by both sides, neither could make any more inroads and the game finished with the Stablaydis cheering this friendly victory.
Final Score: Vilita U21 1 - 2 Starblaydia U21 (Mbidzo 8)(Hall 19, Martin 61) |
