The pimped-out History section: History of Borsola Kingdom of Borsola (Regatul Borsola) Founded on January 8, 1865 after gaining independence from the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Kingdom of Borsola wasn't really too big of a deal at the time. It wasn't markedly different from its neighboring monarchies, aside from the fact that it had a burgeoning pony population and outlived most of its neighbors. The House Amanar came and went with its various monarchs. Speaking of ponies, the government sanctioned either "forced relocation" out-of-borders or outride genocide of the little animals from 1922 to 1934 under the rule of Damian II, a sniveling little rat-faced git with a penchant for animal cruelty and the torture of humans. Named the Elephantine Wars (because of Damian's strong, ahem... fondness of elephants and the fact the ponies often fought back with militias), it killed off a good amount of the population. After Damian's (possibly accidental) death, Nicholas Amanor took over as King. He stopped the Wars, made peace with the ponies, and all was right with the world. However, he was an incredible p*ssy on the global scale (pardon my French), and on September 3, 1937, he had Borsola become a client state of Adolf Hitler's growing Third German Reich. Of course, Hitler and his Nazis started up the taunting (naturally followed by genocide) again, and wiped out nearly 90% of the already endangered pony species. After the war, they never came back. Founding the Despotate On September 13, 1945 (with the help of the Soviet Union and a few years after the people, with the support of the Nazis, executed Nicholas and the rest of the royal family by breaking wheel in a bizarre twist), German soldiers officially left the country; they had aided for "reconstruction". Said reconstruction included attempting to install a dictatorship with the help of the Soviets; however, local Borsolans named Stanislav Floca and Nicholas Sabau took note. They founded the National Party, which overthrew the puppet government of the Soviets in a quick and mostly bloodless coup d'état. Then, with the help of many people of opposing ideologies, founded the Despotate as "an oligarchic dictatorship with plentiful civil rights and a system of checks and balances." The Party and the opposition have helped keep the system this way for the past 66 years. However, sometime in 1997, magical powers (or so we're guessing) lifted the nation and its inhabitants from Earth and into the world of Nationstates. They found themselves in the South Pacific, where they remained for 14 years until finding Atlantian Oceania and moving there. [/yourheadasplodefromstupidity] |
