Below is the rough draft of the regional charter as composed by me. I would welcome any comments or suggestions that you might have.

The Great Charter of the AO Regional Council

We, the member nations of Atlantian Oceania do hereby vote to ordain and establish this charter of the AO Regional Council. The council shall be styled the AO Regional Council, and shall be styled as ‘the council’ for the remainder of this document.

Article 1

Each member nation of AO shall have one seat on the council, with the regional founder being the Council President. In the event that the Council President is unable to fulfill his/her duties, the council shall elect a replacement by majority vote.

Article 2

The council is forbidden from interfering with the sovereignty of the AO member nations. The council is also forbidden from breaching the charter. The charter is the highest law.

Article 3

The council may mediate in properly presented disputes involving AO member nations.

To be eligible to vote on council proposals, a member nation must meet the following requirements:

1. The nation must have an ‘acceptable’ name, to be defined by the Council President
2. The nation must be in compliance with the flag legislation
3. The nation must be active in the off-site regional forums
4. The nation must be an AO member

Article 4

The location of the council chambers shall be determined by majority vote.

The AORDO President and the AO UN Delegate must submit timely (at least one every AO year) reports on their activities to the council, and the council may impeach both individuals with separate 2/3rd votes.

The council may officially recommend to the Council President that a member nation be removed from AO by 2/3rd vote.

The council has full diplomatic powers to deal with foreign powers in the name of the region by majority vote.

The council may create and send ambassadorial nations to foreign regions by majority vote.

The council may declare AO to be at war with foreign powers by 2/3rd vote.

The council must endorse any AORDO military call-up by majority vote, with the only exception being if AO is invaded.

Article 5

Amendments to this charter must be approved by 2/3rd vote.

Article 6

This charter must be approved by majority vote of AO members, and is effective immediately upon passage.

I only wish that we could get a regional organization with some type of hierarchy. Then we'd atleast have something politically tangible to shoot for, instead of just going to war all the time.

This will be taken into consideration.

Sounds good to me, however, you might want to put in a time limit on voting, as if it were required for everyone to vote, then the voting could last forever.

Sounds like a good-looking charter to me. Though what kind of political roles are there to go for within a region like this that will actually have any bearing on our RPs?

That has yet to be decided. Though, if anyone wants to think of some, they are welcome to suggest them in this thread.
