After a long delay, the Atlantiain Oceania Regional Basketball Championship will open its doors to any nations wishing to participate. Because the Allied States and Mrytannian Basketball League hosted the first two tournaments, and due to accusations of bias in officiating in the women's division, AORBC III will be hosted in a foreign nation. Long talks between the MBL/ASM and an interested party have resulted in an official decision.

AORBC III will be hosted by the Socialist Union of Neu Amerika. Hopefully, the tournament hosts will have their hosting details up soon. For now, this is simply the sign-up thread. So, please, if you're interested feel free to put your name in for the third exciting installment of the AORBC.

Last time, Khazaron came out of the blue playing balanced basketball to win their first regional sporting crown. Can the Sharks repeat? Will the Hoop Dragons of ASMV finally make the last step and win it all after two second place finishes? Will the women's division have more than four teams? Only time will tell.

The official regional rankings for basketball after AORBC II (rank, team, (previous rank):

1. Andossa Se Mitrin Vega (2)
2. Khazaron (5)
3. Myrtannia (4)
4. Lamoni (1)
5. Bazalonia (-)
6. Nedalia (3)
7. Geisenfried (-)
8. Dorian & Sonya (-)
9. Iksonic (-)

And the women's rankings:

1. Andossa Se Mitrin Vega (2)
2. Dorian and Sonya (-)
3. Myrtannia (1)
4. Geisenfried (-)

The Socialist Union is proud to have been selected as the host nation of the Third Atlantian Oceania Regional Basketball Championship. We hope to do this magnificent, growing tournament justice in our hosting bid, and welcome all participants with open arms. Details of the tournament structure will be unveiled once we are sure of the exact number of teams wishing to participate.

The venues for AORBC 3 include:

Kampfgren Stadium - Sponsored by the Socialist Union's state-owned auto manufacturing firm, Kampfgren Stadium is the eldest of the stadiums in use for AORBC 3. Recent updates to the structure, located in historic St. Pyotorsberg, have made it a natural selection for inter regional competition. Capacity is 21,000.

Volgogorod Arena - Named after both the city that it is located in, and the glorious victory obtained there 60 years ago by the Crimson Army. This structure is a new, modern building that contains amenities each other stadium save Crimson Court in Hoskva do not. Anything from drinks (ranges from soda to strong vodka or beer) to a massage is available here. Capacity is 25,000.

Worker's Stadium - Situated in Pavlichenko City, capitol of the Slutskaya province, there is not much to say for the Worker's Stadium. Built by local laborers, and updated last 10 years ago, it may seem a little old to foreigners. Capacity: 18,500.

Crimson Court - The crown jewel of the Socialist Union's enclosed stadiums, Crimson Court is also the newest. Construction was completed only a year ago, and it boasts far more amenities than even the impressive Volgogorod Arena. With free wireless internet access inside on top of everything else, it is considered the finest of achievements in recreational construction in the S.U.N.A.. Capacity: 27,500.

So far, we have confirmed entries for:

Bazalonia
Lamoni
Dorian and Sonya (men's and women's)

The Socialist Union will also be entering squads for both divisions.

I believe all griping on the referee subject we strictly IC and in no way meant to be taken OOC - but anyway....

The Hoop Dragons are somehow ranked #1 without ever winning the title. We will fix that this time.

The Lady Dragons will be back to defend their title as well.

And welcome to the AORBC hosting job, NA. Have fun

Just a quick question, do you want us to post our rosters in this thread or in another thread?

There will be a separate thread for rosters and RP posts once the field is finalized. The deadline for new entries into AORBC 3 will be this coming Sunday, August 6.
