My nation's cuisine is...McDONALDS

That's why everybody there is obese. Luckily the power plant nearby has got into the food, and the reaction seems to make residents immortal. blink.gif

Game is popular, and FFF (Falcania Fried Falcon) is a national bestseller. The national dish though, is Hamlets, small pasta shells filled with bacon.

Posted by: Lamoni Mar 3 2005, 06:00 PM
Lamonian national food is what one finds at a Mongolian Grill. Easy to cook, good, and cheap.

The Free Republic would like announce that the famed Lamonian Vodka is now available for export. You can recognize it by the Hawk on the bottle.

Posted by: Legalese Mar 6 2005, 11:54 PM
Now, in a show of goodwill, you wouldn't mind shipping your neighbor Legalese a sample bottle, eh? wink.gif

Ah, but is it as good as Starblaydi Vodka? Or Abattoirian Whiskey, for that matter.

Tell ya what, Lord Starblayde. Send me a bottle of yours too, and I'll judge tongue.gif

Tiberius Starblayde sat back in his chair, holding the bottle of clear liquid in his hands. He ran his thumb over the label, a dark-grey edged in an intricate silver pattern.

CODE
    Orcinus Vodka

 The Premium Spirit

  Enjoy Responsibly

 Made in Starblaydia

Bestride the label was the stylised outline of a Killer Whale. Tiberius tapped the bottletop a couple of times and walked over to a wall. He pressed a hidden button and the wall slid silently aside, revealing a series of tubes, each with an opening at the bottom. Tiberius picked one at random and placed the bottle delicately in the tube. He crossed his fingers and whispered

"Marcus Davies."

With a soft sound of suction, the bottle rocketed upwards and out of sight.

"Good old tube," he said to himself, "you'll know what to do."

Having sent bottles of Lamonian Vodka to the rulers of Starblaydia and Legalese, President Stone sat back, and was pretty sure of the reactions that he was going to get. That is, if those other national leaders didn't get drunk, of course. biggrin.gif

Posted by: Starblaydia Mar 7 2005, 05:17 PM
"One Lamonian-made Vodka, on the rocks, as is their current fashion."

Tiberius took the glass and sniffed at its contents.

"On the rocks?" he asked his friend, "what do the expect me to do, wear a white suit and aviator sunglasses?"

He took a sip. Then another.

"Tastes... um," he searched for a word, "icy. Not much like vodka, really. I'll have some more, though."

A crash startled the Consul's Secretary, who walked into her boss's office to see what the racket was about. "Marcus, are you alright?" she said, peering around the seemingly empty office.

A figure emerged from behind the desk. "Marcia," said the disheveled Marcus Davies, "everything's fine. just got a delivery from Tiberius. Would you like a drink?"

"No thank you, sir. One of us has to stay sober today. Though I also wanted to tell you that a diplomatic crate just arrived from Lamoni."

Marcus smiled, for he knew what that contained. "That's excellent news, Marcia. Thank you."

Marcia turned away, when Marcus made another comment, as if in afterthought. "Oh, one more thing, dear. Can you see who installed the tube system? Putting the sending/receiving end under my chair was an incredibly bad idea."

Posted by: Legalese Mar 10 2005, 12:23 PM
Before he left for Lamoni, Marcus knew that there was one more thing he had to do. Having tried, and enjoyed, both Starbladyi and Lamonian Vodka, it was time to return the favor. Thankfully, he had his own supply nearby.

"Marcia," Marcus said on the intercom. "Have my guys bring me a bottle of my stuff. Also, have them load another case on the plane. As well as the case for the meetings."

Marcia walked into the office, handing Marcus a bottle. Marcus looked at the label for a brief moment:
QUOTE
John Carp
82 Proof
"Binchensburg's Finest Bourbon!"
Distilled and Bottled in and around Binchensburg, Legalese

Marcus then slapped a post-it note on the bottle, which read:

QUOTE
Tiberius,

Thanks for the Vodka, it goes great with Gatorade.  Try a bottle of our best here.

Cheers,

MD

Marcus then reached for the tube, punched a few buttons, and sent the bottle on its merry way.

The "Rhodesian roast" is widely considered the national dish. Tenderly cooked beef with Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and a small array of other vegetables on the side, rounded off with a wonderful meaty gravy. Often served with a locally produced ale (or other beer) or a glass of full-bodied, Rhodesian red wine.

Posted by: Falcania Jun 17 2012, 04:33 AM
Poultry is a staple food, and Falcania's lack of fertile soil means that vegetables are usually eaten as an example of conspicuous consumption. The national dish is often considered to be a kind of deep-fried chicken liver parcel, served with fried tubers.
