Due to the unknown status of all of the chasers competing, we will have very special format to this tournament. Before proceeding to the actual knockout round we will have six group matches. Like any group matches, these matches will be played until their is a winner. However we will be keeping track of the replays. For chasers with more wins than losses the more replays a chaser has the worse he or she will be ranked. For players with more losses than wins, the more replays a chaser has the better he or she will be ranked. In other words, replays will push you towards the middle. However a chaser with five wins will always be ranked ahead of a chaser with four wins. The results of the six group matches will be tallied and used to determine seeding for the knockout round.

Here is the schedule for the group stages:

Chase #1 Chaser #1 v Chaser #4 Chaser #2 v Chaser #3 Technique
Chase #2 Chaser #1 v Chaser #3 Chaser #2 v Chaser #4 Maze
Chase #3 Chaser #1 v Chaser #2 Chaser #3 v Chaser #4 Strength
Chase #4 Chaser #1 v Chaser #4 Chaser #2 v Chaser #3 Speed
Chase #5 Chaser #1 v Chaser #3 Chaser #2 v Chaser #4 Strength
Chase #6 Chaser #1 v Chaser #2 Chaser #3 v Chaser #4 Speed

Here is the schedule for the knockout rounds, all of which will take place in Az-cz city.

Round of 32 Maze
Round of 16 Speed
Quarterfinals Strength
Semifinals Technique
Finals Strength

There will be no reseeding after each round so that the winner of the team seeded 1st and the team seeded 32nd and the winner of the team seeded 16 and the team seeded 17th will meet in the second round, no matter what.

As a special bonus, the eight chasers who advance to the quarterfinals will automatically earn an exemption for all events on the Kleptochase tour for one year, and the other eight chasers who advance to the round of 16 will earn exemption to all of the majors. The 24 chasers who fail to make the quarterfinals will all also be invited to take part in tour qualifying.

We wish all chasers an enjoy experience and good luck. Remember "steal from those with, give to those without".

OOC: It's probably a good idea to refresh yourself with the rules by reading over the wiki again. http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Kleptochase Feel free to take some liberty in describing the obstacles, traps and locks you encounter during the chases. As for the scorinating schedule, the first matches will be posted at 1:00 pm Japan time on Friday August 18. That would be approximately 5:00 am GMT, 12 am EST and 9 PM Thursday August 17 PST. After that each match will be posted as soon as possible after 24 hours have passed from the previous results. However somedays will go longer without posts than others.

Please post RPs here. Feel free to make OOC comments or questions as well.

(OOC: I've assumed some of the presentation aspects from things like K-1 and the like. As it is a dream sequence, perhaps they shouldn't be considered canon (that would be up to Az-Cz to decide, of course))

Dallas Pederson was fast asleep. It would still be a few days before he left, with the rest of the Winchestian delegation, to go to the AO championships. He was one of the few in Winchestia who really understood Kleptochase, having watched many of the Az-CZ majors through the bootleg tape industry in Winchestia.

Always a strong athlete, he fantasied about what it would be like to compete against his idol, Mar-Mar......

*a 30-second Video clip plays of Dallas Pederson training with the words "YOU HAVE NO CHANCE" all over the video screen, as a female voice announces "Dallas Pederson: Winchestia"

"Ladies and Gentleman, Welcome to the opening round of the Orc Strength Showdown! Introducing at start point #1, from Tilse, Winchestia: Dallas Pederson!"

*polite applause from the crowd as they really don't know who he is

*The arena lights go out as another video plays. This one is more intimading with highlights of Mar-Mar's conquests, as the crowd gets more excited

"And in starting point NUMMMMMMMMBBBBBBERRRRRRRR 2!!!"

*The crowd starts to roar as it knows who is coming out

*The familiar Mar-Mar anthem "Pain by Mar-Mar" plays over the loud speaker

"THE FIVE-TIME OSS CHAMPION. MARRRRRRRRRRRRR-MARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR"

*The crowd noise becomes unbearable, as Pederson starts to get goosebumps all over his skin. He has seen this image hundreds of times on video. He realizes what is about to happen.

"DALLLLLLLLLAS" comes a scream from out in the wilderness.

*With a start Dallas wakes up to see his mother waiting over him

"You are going to be late Dallas! You're suppose to go to training for that Kleptoball"

"Kleptochase, ma, Kleptoball is something else entirely"

"Whatever, that silly gnome game. I don't know why you guys are even going, it isn't like you have any chance against them"

"Ma, *yawns* the gnomes are going to be.....oh nevermind, I'll just go get my stuff and go. Why do you alwasy wake me up at the best part of my dream?"

Marian Luppers was at it again. He had been at the fore front of the Milchamian rugby movment and is still the all time leading try scorer for them.

Now he was again at the forefront of another Milchamian sporting movement, the Kleptochase movement. In the 2 months since kleptochase was introduced Luppers had won all but 2 tournaments that had been held and had become Milchama's most established chaser.

He also liked his group opponents in Group D

Ioalali Morai- He had seen the tapes and knew that Morai was a huge speedster who did not seem to do well in any other disciplines. Luppers knew that if he was able to beat him in speed he would beat him in anything else.
Martin Wilson- He was all over the place. He wasn't as concentrated as Morai, but Luppers still did not consider him to be much of a threat. He expected victory there.
Andrew Rather- He was very smart but not that talented. He looked very good at the mazes and was able to survive in anything else.

Luppers felt good he could win the group and his coach Tommy Manny agreed.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Marty Kochenon was the least of the chasers. Barely known outside Constanopel where he won every local tournament he had never advanced past semis in any national tournament. Sure he had made it to semis or quarters every single time including the time when he beat Marian Luppers but he was still worried, espiecially because Strength looked to be a major part of this tournament and he was not strong.

He looked at his tool box and the draw fell out, he thought about it again.

He hadn't really heard of any of them except for Josh Trengrove of Bazalonia but that was only because a beauracratic error had had him entering the tournament late.

He wasn't looking to confident for outrounds either, both quarters and finals where strength as well as two group stage matches. If he could get to quarters though he would be on the Az-Cz and all would be well.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Schreider Martin, was a Milchamian idol, in suicide footballer. A Right striker of stregth, speed, and talent he led all Milchamians in try scoring and even got a team named after him.

Now he was in kleptochase looking for a new challenge. He had the videos of his group opponents and his 5 coaches told him that he could win.

He looked at them again on the press release.

Dazrim Barantibar - Starblaydia- He never really looked comfortable until he got on a technique course. Outside he knew he could win.
Runner SprintMouse - Miceland- If the name didn't give it away the videos did. This fast mouse sucked at everything else. He looked alright at mazes but not enough to win anything. Martin thought he could win.
Schreider Martin - Milchama- Martin knew his strengths and weaknesses and it looked good to him.
Alfred St-Jacques - Quakmybush- The smart St. Jacques was known around Quakmybush for winning the maze tournaments. However outside of that he looked very beatable, very very beatable.

A win in the group looked good for Martin, and he was ready to advance.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Davy Kinch had realized something very quickly after the draw was announced it was a seeding and bid tourney. Everybody advanced from the groups it was all about how good your seed was and how far you advanced afterward. Kinch also knew that the bid was in quarters as that got you into any tournament you wanted in Az-Cz and he could use the money.

Kinch now needed to figure out his seeding. He again looked over his videos bookmarked on the internet and sent to him from the nice people from Az-Cz. He realized that it was him and Kotchenon who had to prove things.

Heck Kinch had only got here because in the Parid open he swept past Luppers on a speed course and had been able to outthink Martin on a maze course. That was one of Kinch's few wins on a maze course and he was still proud of that victory.

This tournament he expected to do well. If he could win in double octos then he was in to the quarters and if he got to quarters then he was made. However, he was not good at maze courses except that finals win against Martin. Maybe under pressure he will do better.

Kinch could only hope so.

Winchestia,

Depends on the event. Most events tend closer to the understatement of tennis. However the Strength Showdowns are more like K1, or the beginning of NBA games yes.

Peter Harden, Maria Heatherton, Andrew Rather and Joshua Trengrove where all at a press conference about the upcoming Atlantian Oceania KleptoChase Competition. They where all sitted at a long table with Dirk Richter the head of the. Bazalonian National Kleptochase Association.

"Before we open up for questions our chasers want to have a few words, Peter drew the short straw so he's first." Dirk Richter

"Thanks Dirk, and yes. I did draw the short straw, but I am very excited about this upcoming tournament and to add to this that Technique course up first. Let's just say I'm going to show how these gnomes to do technique. I'm disappointed there is only one technique course but I do realise that techniques are the hardest course to organise and run and it would be too much of a burden on the course designer. But this is going to be hard for me to get through group E." Peter

"and now Maria" Dirk

"Hi, yeah and let me pre-empt a questition, Yeah, I'm one of the few women that play kleptochase, and of the few of those that have taken strength as my speciality. Lumber StrongMouse will most likely be my main competitor in the the Vilitian competitor is just way too generalised and sorry but the Starblaydian competitor IMO will not be much of a competitor. I think I have a really good chance in group B."

"3rdly, Andrew Rather" Dirk

"Thanks Dirk. I've got the brains, but lets face it I'm not the fastest among the team. The Maze course is right up my alley but I have to think that it's going to be hard for me to win this one. But yeah, I occasionally have been known to put on a burst of speed when needed. "

"and finally, but not least, Joshua Trengrove"

"I'm pretty much the physical specimen of the team, sorry Andrew." a wry smile crossed his face. "oh You got me laughing on that one! Josh." Andrew retorted "but seriously I think we have a very well balanced team and I expect at least one of us to get through the group stage. Group A will be putty in my hands"

"Okay, so we'll open it up for questions."

"Peter and Maria will be upgainst the Mice from Miceland. What are your thoughts on them and their team?"

"I'll take that", said Dirk, "There is no reason that a Miceland competitor such as lumber should not do well, we have been looking at as much video as we can from all of our competitors. However it seems there is no Miceland tapes available for us to look at. We think it's probably due to their Entertainment and Gaming Office. If what we have seen from the Baptism of Fire video translate well into Kleptochase then this team will be a hard one to beat. The Mice deserve our respect as a sporting nation and we also need to respect their culture however different it might be to the Bazalonian culture."

"Who do you think will make it to the finals and who will win?"

"Nearly any single nation could very well end up with the winner of the competiton but of course I favour my chances." Joshua Trengrove

"Okay, thank you everyone. That's where we have to leave it. See you in Az-Cz." Dirk

From Kd-Bl, Head of the Kleptochase rules comittee
To Dirk Richter head of the Bazalonian National Kleptochase Association
CC: All national Kleptochase comittees

Honorable Mr. Richter,

We are writing to inform you of a misconception that sems to be prevalent amongst the Bazalonia chasers. The reason that there are only two technique events has nothing to do with their difficulty to set up. Although it is true that they are complex to set up, so are the Strength and Maze courses. But none of that is a problem. Are expert course constructors can easily assemble courses for each race. The reason there are only two technique courses is luck of the draw. In mixed competitions like the Human Open or this competition, the order of the events are chosen by random draw. For the human open we make sure that each of the events is chosen for the first four days and three of the events are chosen for the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals.

Because of the new nature of this event the format was done like this:

First we drew the group stage. We made sure that the first four days did each event once, then we drew randomly for the last two events, with the proviso that two racers wouldn't compete twice on the same event.

Then we drew the knockout rounds completely separately. Again we made certain that the first four rounds were four different events. As this is only a five round knockout the last stage was chosen at random. This explains how there are two strength rounds in both the group stage and the knockout stage. As this is completely random perhaps next time there will be more technique events.

I hope this clears up any confusion on that issue.

Also we have course designs for the first three days. We will be sending these to each nation to distribute to their racers. Please study them before the competition begins.

Kd-Bl

OOC: Just to be clear, in case of a tie, the course in the replay will have a different pattern than the course in the first match. Maps will be distributed on the spot and the chasers will be given a little time to look at them before the match starts. Also, each match will use different course layouts.

Winston Smith looked down at his watch. "Damn, those kids are late AGAIN. What is with them? Do they know how important this is to them?"

Smith was the oldest (38), most technical of the Winchestian Kleptochasers. He was also their de facto coach. "Well, finally you guys bothered to show up! It's only about 30 minutes late! You show up 30 minutes late in Az-CZ and you'll have missed your chase. Where the heck is that geek Pederson?"

"Probably dreaming of that Mar-Mar character again" replied Martin Wilson. Unlike his three teammates Dallas Pederson had actually heard of Kleptochase before the Az-Czers came to Winchestia. The others liked to tease him about this, but he had been an invaluable soure of information thus far.

Just then Pederson came into the gym, carrying a huge box. "Sorry I'm late, I just got these in!"

"More tapes of Mar-Mar?"

"No, tapes of our opponents at the AOKCC!"

"Even Miceland" replied Smith, duly impressed

"Even Miceland. See it turns out that some obscure Az-Cz sport station broadcast all of the 'learning tours' that they went on. There is some film on every single competitor in the tournament!"

"Well, you guys go workout, I'm going to watch these in the office"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some time later Winston Smith returned with a full notebook in his hand.

"OK, so I've been through our opponents. I don't seem to be best at anything in my group. Martin, you appear to be the strongest and nearly the most technical. Levi, you are clearly the quickest and the best in mazes. But you are going to struggle against Hoffman in technique on day 1. And Dallas, you also appear to be the strongest and best in mazes, but MAN, are you slow going in a straight line!" (everyone giggles)

"Overall, I think we can do well in this thing. I'm at the end of my athletic career, but for you guys a quarter-final spot could mean a new and lucrative career. And for you Dallas, it could mean a shot against Mar-Mar" (everyone laughs again)

"We leave for Az-Cz tonight guys. Enjoy dinner and I will meet you at the airport. Oh and don't be late....."

In Az-cz city, Tex-Mex was giving the speech before the first round of chases and in Mil-Bax it was Art-Bob.

Tex-Mex: We welcome everyone here to the capital of Az-cz to compete in the first Atlantian Oceania Kleptochase Championships. You should be honored to be given such an opportunity. And for those of you who do well, you can try to set your sights on the 20 majors that I won in my career. Good luck.

Art-Bob: The first big race of your Kleptochase careers. I can remember when I first got into the course for my first Celerity Challenge. It was an event I can remember clearly. And I'm sure you will all remember today for the rest of your lives. Good luck as you press forwards and try to become the first international Kleptochase champion.

OOC: Cut off for RP for MD1

Tomoai Tops

Fan favorite Yabai Tomoai became the first Vilitan to get a 1 in the first column of a Kleptochase thing without first getting anything else in any of the other columns, today. Tobai and opponent Vladimir Petrovič of Quakmybush both got a "1" in their head to head match, but Tomoai's "1" was prettier and the fan favorite walked off with the victory.

Other Vilitans performed fairly pathetically in comparison. This statement applies only to Ioalali Morai, whos "1" was no match for the oppositions "2.4"

Both Viliama Riistamii and Ootaniz Riiatzor managed a draw in their first chase, but only Riistamii would follow through in the matter, joining Toboai in the win column, despite taking longer to do it.

In an interview following the chase, Riiatzor claimed that after the first draw the eyes started to dry up, and the player was too concentrated on rubbing the eyes on the head to make the itchy dryness go away to think about chasing.

Apparently, the eyes on the head of Ootaniz Riiatzor are still dry, and as a result the status of Riiatzor for the next chase is unclear.

Luppers had done it easily. He not only had crushed Arthur Rather but was 4th place in the overall competition. His technique had been excellent and his lockpicking skills had really improved. Rather didn't stand a chance as Luppers beat him down easily.

He looked at the tapes again as he got ready for tommorow's maze event. "If I play like this he thought, they don't have a chance."

His coach had said so, and Luppers always trusted his coaches.

---------------------------------------------

Kochenon had not performed well. He considered himself to be a savant in 3 events but yet he seemed to struggle in every one but speed. Kochenon needed a victory tommorow and he needed it bad so he knew he was going all out. At least he was not down like Davy Kinch.

He thought Davy looked really depressed after his poor showing today, he was in last place in the overall standings but that did not matter so much as he had a lot more events. He thought Davy was taking it poorly so he went over to talk to him, maybe a little chat would help both of them.

---------------------------------------------------

Schreider Martin had done it again. In a technique course he had again outthought his opponent and beaten him. Not only did he get the win but he was in second place overall and everybody from Az-Cz was complimenting him on the strategy that he used.

Martin had taken a different route to the object as he picked his first lock then he climbed over a wall and picked his opponent lock took the object and ran back before the poor mouse knew what hit him.

Martin was right about Runner SprintMouse, maybe he could win the competition?

----------------------------------------------

Nobody got near Davy in the locker room afterwards.

"F---!"
"F---!"
"F---!"
"How The F---! could I blow this?"
"F---!"
"Goddamnit"
Then he threw stuff around the room. 32nd place out of 32, with one of his strongest events. He looked at his notes and saw the Jules Quebecois was a savant. And a poor savant at that.

"F---! How the hell could I lose?!"
"F---!"

He then went and threw a chair across the room to get the anger out. Then Marty Kochenon approached him.

"Calm down, Davy its only the first day and don't worry about it everybody breaks. Not only will you improve but it will be fast and it will be good. I have confidence in you."

Davy slowly came down to his senses again and started to think about the competition. He knew he could win, all he needed was confidence.

"Thanks Marty, want to help me study my map?"
"Sure, if you'll help me study mine."
"Deal."

Winston Smith took stock of the situation. The team had gone 3-1, a fair result but one that could be better.

"I'm too old for this" said Smith, "I can't do four of these things a day, it will kill me"

"At least you won Winston. I was so nervous that I walked right into the birdcage trap. And then I couldn't pick the darn lock on it. I need to get some sleep!" replied Dallas Pederson responsible for the "1" with a shady performance today.

"Listen it's still really early in the tournament. Let's all go back to the hotel and get some sleep. We'll come out tomorrow and see how we do, then we will decide what we can do about it"

With that the team left to go to their hotel room.

"I... won...... I..... Won..... I WON!" exclaimed Joshua Trengrove at the end of the 2nd match. The fact that he faced that Kochenon fellow, who was obviously a better technique chaser more nimble in his fingers. The course had a number of window, door and other obsitcles that where designed to be required to be lock-picked, however it seemed that Joshua managed to use his strength and muscles to bash his way through the obsticles, a very crude methods and you could hear the grimaces that tthe gones in the stadium gave as each door, window or other obsticle made a loud and annoying noise. No way would this method of breaking in work for anyone against anything that had even a modicum of security but for this technique chase it gave him an edge over the more knowledgeable and dextrous Kochenon.

Andrew Rather, had another technique course against a Milchaman, Martin Luppers, Martin had reached the target and had kept ahead of the Bazalonian all the time, The major problem for Andrew Was, he dropped the tool required for some of the later traps back at the start and had to go back and get it. It had somehow fallen out of his bag of goodies, officially sanction Kleptochase tools.

Maria was just too slow for he opponent, though not by much. She managed to draw against him in the first course and only lost by a few seconds in the second one. This match was the closest Technique course for a Bazalonian.

Peter Harden however, was in a battle royale of the sneaks, Peter was up against another Peter, however this Peter was not a normal Peter, it was Miceland's Peter SneakyMouse. The lead changed a number of times and it was anyones match as Harden reached the target, he took it and lept over a pit trap that was ahead, however Peter SneakyMouse failed to leap over the pit and so he had to climb out. That gave Harden a lead to which he managed to get to the end before the mouse was able to catch up with him.

To All Racers:

We in Az-cz are very disappointed in the actions of one of the racers today. Joshua Trengrove of Bazalonia did not overcome the traps, but rather broke them. As we are willing to except that possibly he was unaware, that is a huge violation of the rules. We will not be ordering a replay of this race, but let it be known that any chaser who purposefully breaks an obstacle rather than overcoming it as intended will have their results for that race invalidated and be declared a loser by forfeit.

We offer our apologies to Marty Kochenon. Although we feel it would be unfair to invalidate the results at this stage to make it up to him, he will be granted a one year exemption to the Az-cz Kleptochase tour regardless of his finish. However if he finishes amongst the top 8 there will still only be eight automatic places. Same goes if he advances to the round of 16.

We hope to avoid any such incidents in future races. We encourage the competitors to compete fairly and in the spirit of Kleptochase. Good luck in future races.

Marty couldn't believe it. His opponent had cheated. He knew that something was wrong when the fans started to groan and then boo Trengrove but he never suspected rule breaking.

Then he heard the official report and boom there he was suddenly with the goal of all 32 competitors. HE WAS ON THE TOUR!!!!!!!! No more Milchama for him he was off to the home of Kleptochase Az-Cz.

Marty could not believe it.

OOC: Cut off for MD2. Also, next scorination will be a little bit delayed. Exactly how much I can't tell.

He was 2 for 2 now. While Martin Wilson had managed one draw but Luppers had gotten to the object first the first time and the second time it was easy as Luppers realized that the maze was easily climable and did it.

That put Luppers at 2-0-1 and at the top of his group. But more importantly in the overall standings Luppers was 7th. His chasing so far had been excellent and he fully expected to go undeafeated now. With the strength course, his specialty, coming up Luppers knew that 3-0 was definitely well within his reach.

---------------------------------------------
The high was still there. Marty Kochenon probably had just had the most exciting 48 hours of his athletic career. After losing to Josh Trengrove after a draw in the technique course, Trengrove was proven to have broken the rules and Kotchenon was given an exemption on the Az-Cz tour.

Then the match today came and Kotchenon played lights out, he got the object first the first time but Smith was behind every step of the way for the draw. Then the second time Kotchenon came back and switched his plan of attack to the object that fooled the smart Smith and beat him back to the zone for the win.

He again decided to look at the standings, He was in 3rd place behind Smith and Trengrove. Which meant of course he was playing the struggler Moreau. He could have a winning record soon. Marty was very happy.

----------------------------------------------------------

Martin was jumping all over the place. He had done it, another quick win. He went around found his object and got back in an atonishing 30 seconds. The crowd had never seen anything like it and were going crazy. Schreider couldn't believe that he had picked up a cult following in Az-Cz and suddenly he was a celebrity there also.

Both Tex-Mex and Art-Bob had asked him how he did it and commentators all over the country including Ag-Mar, the Kleptochase Peter Gammons, had said that Martin could qualify on the Az-Cz tour regardless of whether he got to quarters in this tournament or not.

He went back to look at this tournament, he was against another good chaser in Alfred St. Jaqcue tommorow as St. Jacque was 2-0-1 in the tournament so far. Also Martin wasn't in the lead as he was only in second place behind Lumber StrongMouse who also had cleared two opponents easily.

Martin knew he needed a win tommorow because he was sure that StrongMouse could not keep it up.

------------------------------------------------------

I did it! Davy Kinch thought just after the match. He had made up for his failing a day earlier as he beat Nurri Tezbaktahir in one of his two weak courses the maze course. Kinch had this tendency to get confused by all the different walls and make a wrong decision, or two, that would cost him the match. He knew though that if he didn't make a mistake he would win.

He didn't screw up. After picking the lock in the door and going around the window, he was met with a wall and he saw the opening in the wall. He pushed it open and there was his object as he scampered back to the target zone before the law even had a chance to get him.

Kinch had done it and he had to thank Kochenon. They would be studying their maps in greater detail tonight as they needed a win.

Tomai, Riistamii stay strong

Native Vilitan Yabai Tomoai looked more like a native of Az-Cz on matchday two as the fans favorite moved to the top of the group table with an impressive win over Bazalonian chaser Peter Harden. The two competitors had gone into the day fresh off victories on Matchday 1 and it was billed as a potential sudden death shootout. But Tomoai, who seemed to have some of the locals in his corner in addition to the travelling Vilitan support, made quick work of Harden and has emerged as an early favorite from the group.

Meanwhile, fellow Vilitan chaser Viliama Riistamii was also victorious on Matchday two in a battle of epic porportions putting longtime sporting rivals Vilita and Starblaydia head to head for the first time in Kleptochase history. As was the story in the first ever competitive meeting in sport between the sides, which was also the very first competitive World Cup Qualifying match for Starblaydia in the World Cup of Football/Soccer; It was the Island nation at the center of the Vilitan Cove that was victorious. Riistamii, however, still has work to be done as Lumber StrongMouse sits atop the table with a clean record and the two chasers have yet to meet in this competition.

It was all too pathetic for Ioalali Morai who, unlike Tomoai, was defeated handily by the Bazalonia chaser on the opposite end. The loss leaves Morai at the foot of both the group and overall standings, with little hope of recovery for the first time chaser.

Meanwhile, Ootaniz Riiatzor was unable to recover in time from the bought the chaser suffered with dried eyes, which was blamed for the Vilitans first chase loss after a draw. Riiatzor did, however, show up for the scheduled chase against Quakmybush's Joshuan Hoffman. Riiatzor sportingly shook the hand of Hoffman prior to the chase and conceded the match due to his condition, before a gracious Hoffman uncerimoniously completed the chase unopposed to record his first victory of the competition, moving him above Riiatzor in the group table.

"Arggghhhh, I hate this <beep>ing game!" exclaimed a frustrated and tired Winston Smith, safely alone in the Winchestia locker room after chase #2. "I've run more chases then anyone, and I think I'm the oldest one here! They're trying to kill me!"

Just then the undefeated Levi Jonasson came rushing into the locker room:

"Winston, you here? Oh there you are, why are you sobbing in the corner? Oh nevermind, listen, I think I've just seen something that I wasn't suppose to."

"OI! I'm too old for this, what do you want?"

"It's about the whole Trengrove/Kochenon thing. At least I think so. I saw someone in the Milchama delegation give what looked like a whole lot of money to one of the Bazalonian coaches. Now it may be nothing, but they both glared at me when they saw I was watching."

"Grrr....you interupt my sulking for THAT? Listen there are all sorts of reasons that you could have seen that. Bazalonia and Milchama have a history together, far more than anything we can comprehend. Maybe it's an old debt or something. Listen, don't worry about it. I'm sure it was nothing."

In truth however, Smith thought it was FAR more than nothing.....

Mice earning KC respect

The second chase saw every single mouse winning their chase against a number of diverse nationalities, Bazalonian, Starblaydi and 2 QuakMyBush players Maria Heatherton, Khazrar Meterrzibarn, Alfred St-Jacques and Vladimir Petrovič. All of these KC chasers where just not up to the maze challenge and the mice.

Lumber StrongMouse challenged fellow Strength Specialist Maria Heatherton from Bazalonia to the challenge of the maze and ended up in a tight contest with the Bazalonian chasing only a few metres behind the mice before Lumber managed to instinctively find the exit of the maze and won the tournament. This is Lumber's 2nd win.

Runner SprintMouse faced Alfred St-Jacques from QuakMyBush, was about to catch up to the Mousr but was outmanouvered at a 3-way split in the maze, Alfred took the left turn where Runner went forward and around a burve. It was only a fraction of the second that allowed Runner to take this opportunity, utilising the mental game of running towards a trap instead of away from it.

Andreas SteepleChase faced Khazrar Meterrzibarn from Starblaydia, Andreas showed why he's the best KC Mazer in Miceland in the dominating performance against the Starblaydi. This was not a walk over for the mouse as the Starblaydi was also an avid Mazer but this matchday certainly showed Micelands dominance in KC Mazes.

Peter SneakyMouse faced Vladimir Petrovič from QuakMyBush and certainly the dominating position in that course was the mouse. It seemed that Vladamir never had an idea where the mouse was as he got this way to the target and exited the maze. Vladimir seemed to have his faced buried in the mazes map.

Bazalonian National KelptoChase Association (BNKCA) -
PRESS RELEASE

The situation regarding the Joshua Trengrove "Breakgate" incident, as denoted in Bazalonian Media has tarnished Bazalonia's proud sporting tradition. The BNKCA abhors all cheating and denies any impropriety by the association in the Breakgate affair. Added to this are claims by un-released international source where allegations of some sort of payoff between Joshua Trengrove and the Milchaman Delegation. This allegation has been taken seriously and we have instigated a BFP led investigation. The results of this investigation will be made public as soon as the situation has been resolved. Joshua Trengrove will make a public statement on his own behalf.

Joshua has been sanctioned in the tournament that he participates in and has lossed a number of points for the so-called "Break-gate" affair.

...........

Public Media Statement of Joshua Trengrove
Subject: Re: Breakgate

First of all I would like to un-reservedly apologise to Milchaman Marty Kochenon, the Az-Cz organising committee, the spectators of the course in question and finally the BNKCA. I would like to explain my actions on that day. As suggested in the statement put out by the Az-Cz AOKCC organising comitte had suggested I have actually not have ever done a technique course before. I am in the Bazalonian Endurance tournament a one that challenges brain and body by a Speed, Maze and Stength Course in quick succession. The results of all three course combine to determine the final result. This means I don't have the energy or the where-with-all to even think about training for a technique course or even doing one. And I am deeply ashamed for bringing such a stain on the Bazalonian sporting tradition.

....

Joshua Trengrove had won his 2 worst events, Technique and Maze and now only 4 matches of his 2 strongest disciplines remain, And with the final series having Strength an Speed courses if he can get through the Ro32 Maze abd the Semi-final technique courses than Joshua is expected to win, or at least come close.

Andrew Rather won his Maze as was expected and totally dominated Ioalali Morai as was expected and Ioalali Morai seemed to be stuch inside the maze some time after Andrew had already one.

Maria Heatherton lost in what was a thriller against Lumber StrongMouse... It was almost Maria verses herself as Lumber and Maria where almost physically as able and adept it each and yet it seemed that the mousey instincts of her opponent just kept her that second slower.

Peter Harden lost against Vilitian Yabai Tomoai who showed why there where so many Vilitian's there to support him, he was good very good. Almost as good as that mouse, Andreas SomethingMouse.

Posted by: Milchama Aug 20 2006, 10:14 AM
The only undeafeated Milchamian chaser left. Marian Luppers was in a good position now after beating Vilitan wipping boy Iolai Morai easily. It wasn't as much a match as a slaughter as Luppers crushed his opponent like a bug and then stomped on him for extra measure. The strength course he considered to be his best event and he showed why, crushing Morai as he used his brute strength to get around, through and over any obstacles in the way.

His tools also looked suberb and of real quality. He asked his coach if he needed to do anything better and the coach could only say, "Marian, that was the best i have ever seen you do."

With praise like that Luppers knew he was well on his way to bidding.

------------------------------------------------------------

Kochenon had managed to come away unscaved and with a victory in his least favorite type of course against the Oliverrian wipping boy Etian Moreau. This was his first match without any draws and he liked it.

He knew that they both looked confused and out of place on this course and he took advantage of that as his new tool kit worked much better than the only one for scaling walls. Which he did three times today to get the W.

Kochenon thought about it again, he had qualified to the tour had gone undeafeated since then and most importantly gotten his first ever victory on a strength course. This was a good day.

---------------------------------------------------
Actually it was a very very bad day for Schreider Martin. He had lost his perfect record, to a guy not known for doing well on a strength against him who had his specialty on the strength course.

He blamed it on his tool kit as his wall climbing device broke but he continued the chase anyway as he scaled up the walls himself without help. Of course this was too slow for St. Jacque with his tool kit and the Quakmybush chaser got to the object first although that was not the end of it as Martin thought he had tagged him for the match to start over and for Martin to win but the ref said he did not.

Of course with no replay allowed in Kleptochase it was a win but the replay clearly showed that Martin had indeed forced a draw.

Well there was nothing he could do about it now, he just went back and studied tommorow's map for a speed course.

------------------------------------------------------

Davy Kinch had lost again. The least known of Milchama's four chasers who were sent to this tournament, Kinch knew he had to prove himself but so far it was not going well.

Other chasers who could have been the last one on the plane were getting really mad because they thought that they could do better. Davy, was pretty sure he was going to lose this match as his opponent looked brilliant on strength courses and he was terrible on strength courses. The result was secured then as Davy lost quickly and unsuprisingly.

He knew that against the Oliverrian savant he could and would win in the speed course. If/when he did that that would be 500 again with an easier strength guy coming up. Maybe he could pull of a victory there and then win in speed and get a winning record.

That was all for the future, for now it was back to studying maps.

Dallas Pederson had been dreading this day for a while now. See, he wasn't very fast. Never was. Something having to do with smaller-than-average feet. Though he loved Kleptochase before all else, he simply wasn't very good at the Speed courses. In fact, it was the one tournament that he refused to ever watch! But by "luck" of the draw, it was determined that arguably the most important round of all, the round of 16, would be speed. So he had just a few days to get a whole LOT better at it. Though he had lost to Tezbuktahir in his first chase he noted that "Tez", as he was called by no one in particular, wasn't exactly a speed merchant either. Now, if he could only figure out how to get one of those slowpokes in teh Round of 16...perhaps that Roy guy from Oliverry? His concentration was broken by a ruckus down the hall.

(A bunch of Az-Cz reporters gathered around Winston Smith after his chase with Trengrove)

"Let me clear something up...Yes, it was I who went to the AOKCC committee today and told about the payoff in the so-called 'breakgate' scandal. After talking with Marty in the back, I am convinced he had no knowledge of what his national coaches were doing. Still, I refused to let a cheater compete with me, which is why I stopped chasing and left the course after 5 seconds against Trengrove today. I find his conduct reprehesible, and his 'apology' lacking, and I want the Kleptochase world to know exactly what has happened here. That is all for now"

About 30 yards away, a bemused Levi Jonasson looked on at the circus caused by Smith. "I thought he said it was nothing" noted Jonasson to himself. He was starting to get a little annoyed that his reluctant "teammate" was hogging the spotlight of an event he didn't really care for. Levi was proud to be representing Winchesita and even prouder that he was in a top 10 position after 3 chases, yet no one, save for Pederson had actually congradulated him after his wins, or consoled him after today's loss. He was starting to get a little ticked off.

Meanwhile, Martin Wilson looked totally exhausted. As he passed Jonasson after this case, he muttered something along the lines of "Once you go green, you can never become clean." Jonasson had no idea what he was talking about and decided that hanging out with that geek Dallas may not be such a bad thing after all. Perhaps they could study film of tomorrows opponents together.....

Edit: I honestly had no idea about the England/Pakistan thing when I wrote this, any similarities to the actual protest by Pakistan today is purely coincidental wink.gif

What a terrible performance. Marian Luppers had lost but that's wasn't the worst he had lost to a guy who sucks at speed courses. While Luppers never thought of himself, particularly good at them he knew he could win and at least beat idiots who sucked at them.

This was also bad as he moved to 2nd place in the group and further down in the overall standings. While he was still in sixth place he didn't like it and he knew he needed to move up. Then again if he just kept on winning everything would take care of itself.

Luppers was also happy to be the only remaining Milchamian chaser with a winning record.

-------------------------------------
Kochenon was really mad. He had lost to a guy he knew he could beat. While Trengrove seemed good on all courses but the technique type his win there against a nervous Kochenon on the first day of competition was a sobering reminder of what could go wrong.

That was why he wanted to win to beat the cheater although Trengrove did give him the exemption for the tournament. Anyway Kochenon was now ranked second among the Milchamian chasers only behind Marian Luppers. Things were looking good as he did not need to face Trengrove again, the only guy he had lost to so far.

---------------------------------------
Schreider Martin threw things around the room, and destroyed his tennis racket, which was really only there for him to destroy anyway but whenever he destroyed one it meant he was really really really mad.

Even if he did lose to a competitor called Runner SprintMouse who was -explicitive removed-ing incredble at sprint courses he was still mad that he did not do better. He couldn't even manage a draw even though he was in and out of his traps as fast as possible.

He was about to be the theif when he heard the siren go off. Then he cursed for 20 seconds as SprintMouse ran to the target zone before he was even allowed to move again. F---! He knew he would be thinking about this match for a long time to come. In the mean time it was time to take his anger out on his next competitor in the strength course.

-----------------------------------------

Last time after facing Jules Quebecois, Davy Kinch thought about quitting kleptochase now he was glad he had not. He had improved his record and was the only Milchamian winner this day as he had first drew Quebecois before seeing his way on the map and running past Quebecois to the object and into the target zone before Quebecois had a chance.

The Az-Czians in the audience that it was good but of course none of them really respect the specialist speedsters or speed courses in general. So what was considered in the eyes of respected speedster Eric Hattleby as "One of the best jobs using a speed course I have ever seen" was given a general meh by the public.

Kinch was kind of glad as ever since Martin had started to become popular his performance has fallen with two strait losses. Anyway Kinch went back to studying maps and found out how he was going to win tommorow in strength.

So true, but the correct form for people from Az-cz is Az-czzers. smile.gif

Joshua Trengrove, totally dominated the Oliverian Étienne Moreau. Carring none of the specialesed and heavy tools the Oliverrian had virtually no chance against the Bazalonian. Joshua took a lead almost at the first trap using his strength and a specially designed crowbar to lever a way through the first trap while the Olliverian struggled to even use the crowbar. In the end the Bazalonian walked the last portion of the map as he knew that the Olliverian was so far behind. Despite this easy win he was booed at the end, not because anything that he did this one. But those residual people that still had feelings over "breakgate" and his 5-0-2 near perfect record.

Andrew Rather had a much harder match against Vilitian, Ioalali Morai, The first course was drawn and there was another course run, the first run Andrew Rather seemed to be a little off his game, his concentration was seemingly fixed on something outside the course before him. Before the second course run he had received a call on his mobile phone and for the 2nd time he was much more composed, it was almost like his life depended on winning the course that was before him. And he did

Maria Heatherton just was terrible, she was performing way under her usual standard and was up against Lumber StrongMouse, A mouse that had a perfect run, 5 wins and no draws. This time Lumber did not dissapoint. Heather however did.

Peter Harden, Well, he's just crap. Having only won one of his chases and did not even look like wining any of the others it seemed there was almost no one at the chase. And those that where barracking for Yabai Tomoai, the Vilitian who was his opponent and won.

Dallas Pederson and Levi Jonasson were excited. Both were 3-2 and both were hopeful for a top half seed for the knockout rounds. At the moment however......

"Look Dallas, you clearly need to increase your speed. It's too late for you to beat Kinch tomorrow, but at least you can improve for the Round of 16."

"But Levi, speed chases aren't REAL Kleptochase. It's just a stunt designed to attract casual fans."

"Do you want to get on the tour or not?"

Levi was actually quite confident of making the tour. After he and Dallas scouted the competition, he felt that he was one of the best maze runners, as well as one of the fastest. That combination almost assured him of a spot in the quaterfinals, and thus the Tour. Now if he could only get Dallas to do his training with him.

"But this is SO humiliating"

"Relax, Dallas, only the two of us can see this. Besides I do this sort of thing all the time. I learned it when I was running track."

"Really? But I still don't see how this is going to make me faster."

"Just do it!!"

With that Levi Jonasson brought out the zebra........

Terrible day for Milchamian chasers

We love to be the first to report about new sports and activities and just yesterday we figured out that the AOKCC is happening. Or the AO Kleptochase Championship. In the championship we have 4 chasers who have all been sucking recently.

First is Marty Kochenon in group A. Currently his record is 2-3-3 which puts him in 3rd place in his group. Tommorow is his best event, according to his press release, the speed course so he is hoping for a change in fortune and a win to propel him to .500. However its looking easy for Marty as he faces Oliverrian Etian Mureau who is last in the group and is apparently poor at speed courses. The tournament also does not matter as much to Marty now as after his opponent in the first chase was accused of cheating Marty got an one year exemption on the Az-Cz tour.

The next person in group 3 in Schreider Martin who won today beating the Starblaydi (yeh!) Dazrim Barantibar. That puts him at 3-2-0 and in first place among the Milchamian chasers. Martin is looking for a winning record and a chance to be in the top 8 in competition. He has also gotten a little bit of a following among the Az-Czzers who really liked how he crushed all else in the maze competition in only 30 seconds. With the maze looming in double octos things are looking good for Schreider.

The third chaser is Marian Luppers who is in group 4. Luppers got off to a hot start before cooling off with 2 strait losses. He needs a win bad in his final chase against the Vilitan Iolai Morai who is in last place in the group with 4 losses. With the win Luppers would be over .500 and in a good position to challenge in the quarterfinals.

Davy Kinch who is in group 8 is the final Milchamian chaser. The least known among Milchamian chasers, Kinch has done alright as while he is in last place in his group he looks to still get to .500 as his specialty in Kleptochase, the speed course, is tommorow and he's against a person who is very bad with speed, Dallas Pederson from Winchestia. Kinch thinks that he can go far in the event despite the fact that double octos is a course that he does not do particularly well on, the maze course.

All our chasers have a chance to be at least .500 and be in the top part of the bracket, its a good time to be a kleptochase fan right now in Milchama.

Miceland has perfect record

Lumber StrongMouse has a perfect 5-0-0 record our of the 5 matches, the closest competitor, controversial 'breaker' Joshua Trengrove from Bazalonia who also has won 5 of his matches but has 2 draws hence destroying his perfect record. All other chasers have at least lost one match including our own other mice. Lumber once again faced Bazalonian Maria Heatherton in a strength course. Strength is both Lumber's and Maria's specialty however while Lumber got his way to 5-0-0 Maria is struggling at the bottom with a 0-5-1. Not that Maria is a poor chaser, it's just that she had a terrible run and seems to be well under the weather.

Runner SprintMouse also won his match and goes to 3-2-1 and 13th out of the 32 competitors, Runner and Alfred where quite close but Runner started to pull away after an unexpectedly quick trap disarming with the general tool. Runner only seemed to get further and further ahead using his amazing speed to pull away from the chaser from quakmybush. He reached the target and made it out in an amazing chase. The loss was Alfred St-Jacques first loss in Group C

Andreas SteepleMouse lost to the Starblaydi dwarf, which was not totally unexpected as Andreas is quite a weekling and while he does at least have a decent technique, the slowness of the general tools that she had to use was just too much for him, as the Starblaydi took a lead early on and kept it through out the entire chase.

Peter SneakyMouse has at a disadvantage from the begining Vladamir was a strength specialist and Peter, while he had strength he just had no where near the power that the QuakMyBush chaser had. However Peter SneakyMouse kept his own right up till the near the end of the chase but was just too worn out by the end to continue chasing with any speed.

OOC: A few notes:

1. There are discrepancies between the group standings and the overall standings. This is not a mistake. As the group standings are not relevant no care has been taken to match them with the overall standings in.

2. Draws for teams with more than 3 wins pull them down, less than three wins pushes them up but are irrelevant for teams with 3 wins. All teams with 3 wins and 3 losses are considered equal and are ranked at random.

3. The matches are ordered by seeding but by matchup. So 1 versus 32 is listed first then 16 versus 17. This allows for easy visibility of who the possible opponents for each racer in the next round are.

4. Racers with four or more wins will be recieving a bonus to their stats. How much this bonus is depends on their place and number of wins.

5. Poor Starblaydia. Both of the two bottom spots. And not one of them made the top half of the seedings.

6. Interestingly two matches went to sudden death on the final day after only seeing it once the other five matchdays.

Joshua Trengrove showed the dominance that he had shown throughout the tournament against the Winchestian Winston Smith. Being no traps it was a matter of who could get to the target first and head on to the end. Joshua came out slightly ahead and seemed to go even faster with the target, leaving the Winchestian behind in his dust. Joshua will face Starblaydi Thoror Azrantahim in the round of 32, a win is expected

Maria Heatherton, she finally managed to win an event however it was not in her speciality she faced Starblaydi Thoror Azrantahim and that was the only match that she seemed to dominate. Thoror is one spot below Maria on the final rankings Peter Harden, Maria Heatherton and Starblaydi's Thoror Azrantahim and Dazrim Barantibar take up the last four places in that order. Maria wil face her Fellow Bazalonian, Andrew Rather. A loss is expected for her.

Peter Harden, he lost against Vladimir Petrovič from QuakMyBush in a thriller of a speed match. After 3 draws it came down to sudden death and there it was Vladimir Petrovič just piped Peter at the end giving the chance for a somewhat decent score for Peter to Vladamir, who is now ranked 11th. Peter will face Runner SprintMouse and it's expected for Runner to win fairly easily on this one.

Andrew Rather, faced Martin Wilson from Winchestia. Andrew seemed to trip over himself just as soon as he got started, as a resolt the Winchestian got a handy head start and managed to take the game reasonably easy in the end. Andrew is still ranked 3rd despite this loss as he notices the lack of anyone wining 5 of their matches and losing 1, but there are 2 people that have won all 6. Andrew Rather will face fellow Bazalonian Maria Heatherton and is expected to win.

Luppers had failed. After starting 3-0 he had blown any chance of anything and was now ranked mid pack after 3 losses and a 3-3 record. As all the ties were irrevelent for 3-3ers like himself, it didn't matter how many draws he had or anything like that.

The worst part though was that he lost Iolai Morai who was 2-4 and had sucked throughout the entire tournament. At least he was against a Starblaydi, and they had finally found a sport where Starblaydia did not dominate, Kleptochase. Therefore Luppers knew he could and would get to octofinals which would guarantee him the majors exemption which would be enough for a year before he qualified for the tour.

He felt he could do it, actually he knew he could do it. His coach had told him so.
----------------------------------------

Marty Kochenon had blown it. He knew it, his coach knew it, everybody knew it. He was mad and he acted on the anger. He threw his tool box and yelled really really loud. That was it though, he was known as a less emotional Milchamian because he didn't get mad as much or as great as most Milchamians who were known for their excessive tempers.

He was mad about his endurance. The first two times he had beat down Etain Moreau, became the theif and should have won but Moreau got lucky. Then the third time he called timeout because he had too but was still able to tag Moreau. Then he knew that he would win but Moreau got to the object first and since it was sudden death that was it, Marty had lost. He screamed again <expletive removed> how could i lose to him!!!!!

Well he stopped dwelling on the past and looked toward the future, he was against a mouse named Peter SneakyMouse whose strength were the maze and technique courses which Kochenon was also good at. He just needed some luck and maybe a good run and he could do it. He felt confident and he was ready.

-----------------------------------------

Martin had managed it, he got his winning record after beating Alfred St. Jaqcues in the speed course. The first time Martin was confused and flustered and immediately went on the defensive going for the draw, and he got it too after he outran St. Jaqcue to the target area where he grabbed him and managed a draw.

The second run though Martin was awesome as he outran St. Jacque to the object and then picked the lock and got to the target area before St. Jacque was even 10 ft past his starting point. This caused the crowd to go into a friendzy as Martin picked up the object ran back and scored the win and became a 4-2.

He continued to think about that as he picked up his double octos pairing, Ioalali Morai. Hey somebody had already faced him, who was it though, ah there it was Marian Luppers. Well it was time to go to Luppers and ask what he needed to do to beat Morai....

-----------------------------------------

Davy Kinch had met his goal or at least come close. He just wanted respect and with a win that would guarantee him respect. He had gone 3-3 or the same record as the "great" Marian Luppers and a better record than Marty Kochenon, although Kinch thought that Marty had not tried as hard since he had already auto qualed.

He of course had been screwed over in the draw as he didn't face another 3-3 but a 4-2 in Levi Johannson from Winchestia. He knew it would be alright as he had won in maze before in this tournament and could perform there when it mattered.

In double octos it mattered and Kinch was more than ready for the task at hand, to get a spot on the tour.

Vilitans sweep through to Round of 16

After a strong start, Vilitan fan favorite Yabai Tomoai slipped to a pair of defeats against Miceland's Peter SneakyMouse leaving the chaser third in the group. But Tomoai pressed on after a draw to record the win over Winchestia's Dallas Pederson in the Round of 32 to advance to the Round of 16. Tomoai's reward for the Round of 32 victory is a match against the favored Joshua Trengrove of Bazalonia. Tomoai, not known as much for speed, will be facing an uphill climb against the pacey Trengrove who has the advantage of pre-tournament training is Az-Cz that the Vilitan's did not attend. With the crowd on the Vilitan's side, it should certainly be an interesting matchup, despite what the expert pundits may think.

Meanwhile, the surprise of the Round of 32 came as the less than impressive Ioalali Morai continued a mini-run of form by upsetting 5th rank Milchaman chaser Schreider Martin. Morai had footed the bottom of the overall table before a pair of victories leapfrogged the Vilitan into a more admirable, but still pathetic 5th from bottom. But the win in the round of 32 shows that the late run of form was no fluke, and Morai now enters the round of 16 with the fate of the nation at hand, with expert pundits picking Morai as the Vilitan with the best Quarter-Final prospects. Speed-demon Morai will be up against Whicnestian speedster Levi Jonasson in what is certain to be the most entertaining tie in the round of 16.

Viliama Riistamii had some trouble in putting away Oliverry's Théophile Fournier, but would eventually contribute to the Vilitan round of 32 sweep with a win. Riistamii, the top performing Vilitan in the group stage, entered the round of 32 as the 6th ranked chaser and favored amongst Vilitans to reach the Quarter Finals. However, perhaps lacking a bit of confidence, or perhaps having a bit too much, Riistamii quickly acquired the item on the course. Riistamii, however, was unable to keep hold of the item, and was forced to turn back, and a draw was the ultimate result. A little more cautious on the second run, Riistamii was able to easily outduel Fournier, but not without the scare of epic porportions, causing many experts to doubt the former favorites credentials against Quakmybush's Vladimir Petrovič, who has already tackled Vilitan Yabai Tomoai in the group stage. In a lucky pairing, Vilitan Ootaniz Riiatzor finally recovered from Dry Eye in time for a mere practice run against Oliverry's Gustave Roy. Although Roy, heavily favored in rank at 7th after the group stage, may have gone in confident, it is unlikely we will see this chaser back in competition any time soon after the embarassing defeat at the hands of Riiatzor, who looked a flash in the pan with being able to see being put back into the Vilitan's chasing equation.

Sight at hand, Riiatzor will make it four for four in the Round of 16 as all of Vilita's competitors have advanced beyond the first hurdle. This success has not yet rebounded onto the Vilitan mainland, however, as three juveniles were convicted of larseny over the weekend, despite valiant "National Pride" defence pleas being put in on behalf of the convicts, claiming they were just trying to emulate their idols, the competitive Vilitan chasing team.

Joshua Trengrove, Bazalonia's most hated player, faced a chaser from political opponent and World Cup's current #1 team, Staryblaydia. Thoror Azrantahim did not put up much of a maze race with the Bazalonian reaching the target in a new personal best time for a maze, the Starblaydian seemingly had no idea where the Bazalonian was and was heading in the exact wrong direction. Joshua appeared out through the exit and received grumbles, the audience reacting to the winning streak as we can be sure that Joshua is a great Kleptochaser but also reacting to that fact that 'breakgate' is still figuring heavily in the minds of the Az-Czzers and other spectators. The Round of 16 is a Speed Round, his opponent in the Round of 16 is Yabai Tomoai, in a match of Speed Yabai should be fairly easily dominated by the Bazalonian in a continuation of his perfect run.

Peter Harden was just totally out-classed by Runner SprintMouse. The mouses speed was a major asn, sprinting through the maze bypassing the traps, Peter however tried to go through the maze by dealing with the traps. Getting himself stuck while trying to climb a fence obsticle. He pinned himself in between the two bars and he had extreme amount of difficulty in getting out. In fact he could only get out once the course had been destructed. He was feeling acutely embarresed and humiliated. Next tournament he'll try to improve his technique abilities.

Andrew Rather and Maria Heaterton faced each other in the Round of 32, in the maze it was Andrew that dominated, Andrew and Maria had alot of experience against each other and it was frequently Andrew that had came out on top for the majority. And despite this Maria using her knowledge of Andrew came very close to catching him with the target and causing a draw. However Andrew managed to trick Maria to head down a long way while he took a shorter root that had an obsticle what Andrew seemed to deal with fairly easily. Andrew got to the end and Maria was about, in the end 10 seconds behind

Two Quakmybushian Kleptochasers Left

The Quakmybush Kleptochasers have been playing in the AOKCC for the past while. All 4 of the Kleptochasers made it to the round of 32, however only two are left. These two are Alfred St-Jacques, and Vladimir Petrovič. St-Jacques made it to the next round by defeating fellow Quakmybushian Joshua Hoffman. While Vladimir Petrovič made it to the sweet 16 by defeating Étienne Moreau of Oliverry. Next up St-Jacques will be taking on Andreas SteepleMouse of Miceland. While Petrovič will take on Viliama Riistamii of Vilita.

Lumber StrongMouse continues his perfect run dominating the Dwarf from Starblaydia, no draws, no losses, just wins. The lead was never clearly established but as Lumber StrongMouse approached the target the Starblaydi took a wrong turn essentially giving the target to Lumber, the Starblaydi never recovered having trouble re-orienting himself within the maze. Lumber was never really challenged in this race and won it fairly easily. Lumber will face another Starblaydi, Nurri Tezbaktahir. Lumber is expected to dominate once more.

Andreas SteepleMouse was in his element, Maze races was his forte but mazes weren't his opponents, the strategy was to memorise the dirctions to the target quickly then run the coures without refering to the map once. Combinging speed and his technique abilities to overcome the traps Andreas was the maze specialist, beating his Winchestian opponent. Andreas will face Alfred St-Jacques from QuakMyBush in the Round of 16, this match will be difficult and no one is quite sure how this match will end up

He was out Marian Luppers had exited. After 4 strait losses he was back to the Milchamian or in going to qualifying on the Az-Cz tour to try and get into some events. He wasn't sure what to do but he did know one thing, he needed change.

A new coach, a new strategy for being successful, a new everything. He took off his legendary green and black uniform, that would be thrown away. Something new was neccesary and Luppers was going to deliver. He was going to compete on the tour.

----------------------------------------------

Kochenon had done it, and he was the only one, the only Milchamian to advance. Heck and he was the one who didn't need it, he would have gladly lost to let one of the other go ahead, aw well, he was in octos and now just needed one more win, on a speed course, to get the bid.

He looked at his opponent again, he was -explicitive removed-ing Vilitan. Well now it was time to study the map, a good run and he would win, because he was only against a -explicitive removed-ing Vilitan.

The nation of Milchama was cheering for him, come on Marty!

------------------------------------------

Schreider Martin had blown it. He was mad and he decided to forget about it immediately, not talk about it at all, just live with the loss. He lived with it and there was some more happiness in his life.

-----------------------------------

Kinch had to get better at speed courses. He knew it, everybody knew it. So he was going to do it.

Kochenon couldn't believe it! The bid it was his, screw his auto-qual he had earned it after beating Vilitan Ootaniz Riiatzor. Now he had worse worries as he had to fact Josh Trengrove, AGAIN! This was the 3rd time but it didn't matter as much now as the whole point why he came to the tournament anyway had happened, he had qualified for the tour.

Now he was on a strength course, his weakest event, and he needed a win big time. Well he studied the map one more time, if I go there, and then there and then HOLY S--- there it is! If I go that way I can do it. Marty was happy and with that he wrote down the path to victory

The real suprise is that Starblaydia has any racers left. That was the upset of the round of 16 by far.

Morai Advances to Quarter Final

While all four Vilitan chasers won their opening matches in the Round of 32, only the surprising Ioalali Morai was able to advance from the Round of 16 to the Quarter Final Stage. Morai was under much criticism for his performance in the opening matches of the group stage, and many experts were calling for the debutant chaser to be replaced on the squad before the Nationstatal champions later this season. However, Morai has taken the criticism constructively and used it as a catalyst for a run of results that now sees the youngster considered a potential upset away from the semi final stage of the competition. Morai will have the entire Vilitan chasing squad in his corner when he goes up against Miceland's Runner SprintMouse in the Quarters, after a convincing win over Winchestia's Levi Jonasson in the Round of 16. After Morai's dissapointing group stage performance, few expected much from the Vilitan. However, after a win in the Round of 32, It became clear that the Morai-Jonasson would be one of the best of the round. An uncharacteristic slip from Jonasson on the start gave Morai the advantage, and he never looked back taking the target and succesfully evading Jonasson to advance in one go. Only one other Vilitan, Viliama Riistamii, had their match decided in one go in the Round of 16, albeit a losing effort, as Yabai Tomoai and Ootaniz Riiatzor both forced draws before their exit in the same stage of the competition.

While Kleptochasing has not yet taken amongst the upper echelon of Vilitan society, youngsters accross the nation have taken interest, and it is believed that should Morai advance to the Semi Finals of this regional competition, it is entirely possible that the Vilitan media will look to cover the event live, and possibly create the start of a potential migration of professional kleptochasing into the Tropics of Vilita.

Andrew Rather and Joshua Trengrove, through to the quarter finals. The two Bazalonians having a strong rivalry but a friendly one, The Bazalonians using each other to train in between the course days. The training was to increase his upper body muscle mass so he could hold the increased mass and move with speed.

This was after Andrew Rather reached the target before Martin Wilson, the Winchestian just was not fast enough and had not taken the corners as efficiently as the Bazalonian. In the end he decided just to walk the last metre home just because he could. In the upcoming Strength course Andrew faced Vladamir from QuakMyBush. It is unknown just how well Andrew could do but Vladamir will be certianly able to use his advantage up against the Bazalonian and no one is quite sure just who will make the next round

Joshua Trengrove on the otherhand seemed to be calm and confident, Strength course was his forte and it was like he was unstopable. Winning all six of his group matches and with his win in the Maze and Speed courses in the rounds of 32 and 16. He faced the familiar foe of Marty Kochenon, A man who could be very dangerous but failed in his strength. He faced in the Speed course Vilitian,Yabai Tomoai. In the first run Joshua failed to reach the target in time with the vilitian just reaching it the moment before Joshua reached it. Joshua managed to get the vilitian the moment after the collecting of the fluffy gnome. The next draw it was the other way around, the vilitian just getting Joshua seconds before the exit loomed up before him. This was where the Bazalonian's endurance kicked in, while the Vilitian was still recovering from the previous runs the Bazalonian was fighting fit. Joshua teared through the 3rd run and the vilitian quickly started to drop off. Apparently the Vilitian peaked too early.

Morai topples Sprintmouse in Quarters

The magical run of Vilita's Ioalali Morai continued against favored Mice of Miceland chaser Runner Sprintmouse in the quarter final stage of the competition. Morai, who was on the verge of being kicked off the Vilitan team after a poor start to the group stages, has now arose as the top challenger from the cove nation, outlasting his more experienced and skillfull counterparts on the way to a place in the Semi Final Stage of the tournament. Just four chasers remain from four different nations, with Starblaydia, Bazalonia and Quakmybush also represented in the final four. Morai will come up against Starblaydias Nurri Tezbaktahir. Like Morai, Tezbaktahir has also had an impressive run through the knockout stages, and it is certain that whichever the two advances to the final will have a tough task against either Joshuan Trengrove or the always dangerous Vladimir Petrovic of Quakmybush.

As Joshua emerged out of the maze he knew that he had lost, the target had gone when he reached there and he had yet to actually see Vladamir. And in the end he walked out of the course to see Vladamir and the rest of the QuakMyBush delegating celebrating.

"****, I won 6 out of 6 chases and HE get's it." Joshua waved acknowledging the crowd as he mumbled underhis breath. "To loose in a stupid technique course, well, I suppose I better get training on my technique." He said as he left the course and the stadium with no fanfare. He soon found out that the Starblaydi Nurri whatever his name was had won. "You know what?" he asked himself "The sad thing is that I predicted this. Well, at least I got knocked out by the man that will most likely win this thing. Despite the Starblaydi being a dwarf I doubt he'll do well in the strength course ahead."

And with that he soon was on his way back to Bazalonia to train.

Vladimir Petrovič advances to Final

Vladimir Petrovič defeated Joshua Trengrove of Bazalonia. This came as a shock to everyone on Quakmybush as Trengrove was heavily favoured. Now Petrovič will take on Nurri Tezbaktahir of Starblaydia who defeated Ioalali Morai of Vilitia. The finals should be a very good match. Here is his response when asked about his chances. "I think they are very good, I just have to try really hard and maybe I might win."
