Report in this month's edition of Straight Shoot Magazine - Falcania's Number One Firearms Publication
After last month's announcement and demonstration of the C3, Jay Industries have shown their next development: a replacement for the current generation of its weaponry. The Straight Shoot team were lucky enough to get their hands on some of the first batch produced.
The first weapon we got our hands on was the J3 "Future Assault Light Carbine," or "FALC," pictured below alone and next to its predecessor, the IAW.
The weapon, made largely from ultra-light polycarbonates, is tiny. We cannot emphasise in words or figures the sheer convenience of the 600mm-long carbine in comparison to its metre-long predecessor. The bullpup design means that the weapon enjoys twin virtures of being short and light, while enjoying a relatively long barrel and ease of handling. The light but firm body compensates for a lot of the recoil, and the 5.56mm round has a confidently reported stopping power.
Our second weapon is something of an oddball - the J4 "Combined Light Assault Weapon" or "CLAW," incorporates a high-capacity 9mm submachinegun with a 6-chamber revolver-action 12-gauge shotgun.
The weapon is designed for extreme close-quarter fighting by elite Falcanian shock troopers, whose mission is to soar into an enemy stronghold and clear it out quickly. Structurally it seems to be just a 9mm submachinegun with a revolver mechanism and barrel of a shotgun added to the top. A sliding stock with variable magnetic locks enables accuracy if strictly required, but this weapon is eminent for firing from the hip at near to point-blank range. Not an average weapon, but a fearsome one to encounter.
Thirdly we got our hands on a pistol - the J5 "Compact Lethal Infantryman's Pistol," or "CLIP."
This is a 9mm pistol designed for easy handling and reliability. It is a compact weapon, but still capable of holding 12 rounds in its magazine. It is also light, sharing many of the J3's polycarbonate parts. The most notable features are the compact laser sight contained within the end of the slide's guiding rail, the distinctive overhang at the rear when the slide is racked, and the large and brightly coloured ironsights for more immediate visibility. |
