The newly-installed Chairman of Krytenia, Andrew Hessenthaler, stepped up to the podium, and began to speak.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it is with a heavy heart that I assume this position. However, the world turns always, and we too, must turn and change with it. As such, I have developed this four point plan for the immediate future of Krytenia.
Firstly, with the descent of our former colony, Nova Mercia, into anarchy, we are to send troops to this troubled land to bring it back under Krytenian rule. This will not only increase the size of our nation, but it will restore the livelihood of millions of Mercians, and thus bring more prosperity to the entire region. This will be our first concern.
Secondly, we plan on inviting a delegatin from Sarzonia to Everton City, to discuss the future of our two nations' mutual alliance. The Sarzonians are our good neighbours and friends, and I believe furthering our relationship with our Sarzonian bretheren would benefit both countries.
Thirdly, thereis still much to discuss with the nation of Xile. For too long, there has been bad blood between our nation and our western neighbours, and though my predecessor made some big steps, there is still some way to go. The Lavingrad Pact, of course, does give us much to work with, however we must pursue this opportunity whilst it exists.
Finally, we are officially declaring war on the nation of Latao. We join Starblaydia, Falcania, and others in this venture - quite simply, the Latin people pose a threat to the entire region, and we call upon all nations of Atlantian Oceania to assist in this venture." |

"'With a heavy heart', indeed," Lord Starblayde mocked, "that I take control of this nation."
"Shh," Lord Chisoko, the Foreign Minister, said, stretching his boundaries, "I wanna listen to this."
They watched in silence for the rest of the broadcast, commenting afterwards.
"Didn't look too shaken up, did he?" Tiberius asked.
"One might even say he was expecting to make a statement like this," Lord Chisoko offered.
"Still," Tiberius continued, "get Sarzonia on board and bomb the crap out of Latao. Can't be bad." |

When Chairman Hessenthaler's speech got to the 'heavy heart' portion, President Stone laughed out loud.
He thought to himself: 'If he's really that badly affected by the loss of the previous Chairman, he's not showing it too well.'
The Foreign Minister made an obscene gesture, but President Stone evidently wasn't looking, and missed it.
After he had thought about the international situation, President Stone told the Foreign Minister: "Increase the intelligence flow to Starblaydia. Let the dictators have their fun with Latao, and they will be less eager to attack someone else for a while."
The Foreign Minister left the room without saying a thing, prompting President Stone to wonder where common courtesy had gone off to. |
