"Taking advantage of the regime collapse in Bazarain, our military forces have begun securing the cities of the former nation. The reporter looked up at the camera and continued.

The Cohors Vrbis have setup garrisons in all of the major population centers and are in the process of quelling sporadic guerilla resistance in the area. A suicide bombing today has resulted in several Roman casualties, but crucifixions have so far deterred any more foolish attempts at ending our occupation. Full Roman citizenship is expected to be granted to the Bazarain islands in several months, as soon as the population has been subdued and Imperator Tyrannvs formally and legally recognizes the islands as part of Nova Roma.

Looking to the camera this time, the reporter begins a new topic,

And in other news, the ongoing affair between Sarzonia and Chacor has appeared to reach a sorts of stand-still...

Islands of Bazarain; several thousand miles from the capital city of Nova Roma

The sound of metal hammers was barely audible over the piercing screams of the Bazarain insurgents as their wrists and ankles were nailed to wooden crucifixes. Blood and bits of bone erupted from the crushed and shattered joints and dripped down the edges of the wooden crosses.

A final offering of water was given to each insurgent before their crucifix was raised up and cemented into the ground... In this particular area, only 50 or so were raised; however, they were raised and planted along the busiest road in the city, so that all could see the result of defying Roman occupation and this was taking place all over the former Bazarain nation.

Some could say it was barbaric. Some could say it was effective. Whatever the case, the Cohors Vrbis were good at what they did.
