As a result of the protests against the first package of the Latin Entry Act, which lead to the first resolution of the FLMS, the Confederacy of Latao invites all allied nations to review and comment our second package, related to migration policies.

The Confederacy would like to offer our allied partners a platform for an open discussion, although we reserve the right to make our own decisions.

The official Information from the Department of Migration & Citizenship maybe found here:

The Protectorate of Starblaydia thanks the Confederacy of Latao for making their Visa and Citizenship policies perfectly clear. This may be the spur for Starblaydia to officially clarify their own Visa, Citizenship and Immigration policies.

A question if I may; in the requirements to gain citizenship in Latao, it states that one "must reside legally in Latao for at least 10 years", but I can't seem to find where the Lain government defines what is and what isn't legal in regaurds to residencyin their country; can the Latin government clarify this?

Thomas Banda, Latao Domestic Ministry

Thank you for your interests in Latao.
Foreigners, who are holder of a visa or unlimitied stay permission reside "legally" in Latao and may receive the Latin citizenship after a period of at least 10 years of that status.
Holders of a visa that is valid for 12 months and more may apply easier for unlimited stay permission.

We hope this clears things out.

[27. April 2005]
Foreign armed Forces must leave the Country

Latao’s parliament decided, not to allow armed forces of foreign countries anymore residing on Latin territory without specific permission from the NEC.

This means, armed personnel of nations that operate infrastructure such as embassies in Latao must leave or deposit their weapons.
Protection services are instead provided by the Department of Governmental Services (Ministry of Military & Police) and charged.
Permanent of on-demand, armed personnel in civil or in uniform (Latin military) are available. The protection personnel carries 9mm SIG P226 Pistoles, knifes, pepper spray, HANDSCHELLEN as well as automatic pistols of type UZI and/or automatic rifles of type SIG Sturmgewehr. Also available are snipers using high precision rifles of type Heckler & Koch. All personnel is educated in several martial arts as well.

One clarification on the policy announcement: As Latao has previously stated, no international flight leaving Latao will be checked by Latin security, as they are concerned with flights entering. To that effect, we have allowed Latin security to check all Legalese to Latao flights, and have had personnel from Legalese checking flights in Latao for JudicialAir. Will this policy affect their ability to secure any flight entering Legalese airspace?

That's a good point, the parliament obviusly forgot.
I will submit your question to the responsible parliametary commission. For the current situation, the new regulations are not yet active. The planned act was thought primary on embassies and might allow airport checks.

Nadia Pumia, Foreign Minister Latao

OCC: I really forgot about this agreement ;-)

The parliament was busy discussing some boring case regarding payments between the Districts of Latao, when Nadia the hottie stepped in. The room was silent immediately when the young dark-blonde lady with long hair walked to the podium wearing a short white skirt, long white leather boots and a lila-purple top written in diamond-shiny font “Secretary” on her chest.

The male members of the Confederacy Council were suddenly spending all attentions to her, while the females were more like “bitch!” – Regardless, Nadia Pumia was an elected and competent NEC-member, responsible for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as such, the boss in the room.

She said Legalese officials brought up a good point, regarding flight security checks at international airports.
Since Latao only checks flights entering the country, most nations were allowed to have sent their own staff here to perform checks on planes leaving Latao to their countries and that they are now asking how this procedure should continue.

Miss Pumia suggests that the flight security personnel of foreign nations is being excluded from these limitations, but leaves the question open, if it’s really required that simple checks on identification and possible smuggle-goods must be performed by armed officials.

While the parliament discussed the situation and its technical requirements, Nadia checked her finger nails and ensured her breasts sit right.

The parliamentary experts came to the following amendment for the policy:

The Team ‘Airports’ of the Division ‘Border Patrol’ of the Department ‘Governmental Services’ of the Ministry ‘Military & Police’ shall provide basic security services and protection for an airport as a whole, while the foreign teams perform security checks on flights leaving Latao to their countries.
All authorities may execute their jobs armed and may operate in uniform and civil. Any foreign security personnel must be registered with the Ministry of ‘Military & Police’ and the number of personnel is limited to ten per nation. Additional personnel maybe requested at the said Ministry as needed. The foreign personnel is freed from the need of visas or stay permissions, but stand under Latin laws, incl. tax.

‘Do you have that, Miss Secretary ?’ On older women from the Confederacy Council asked.
‘Yes – everything clear’ Nadia replied and left the room to submit the information to the officials of Legalese and any other country affected by the business case.

It was difficult for the Financial Secretary Rudolf Ossa to get the attention back for his plan, to install a Federal Office that manages inter-District payments and subsidize exchanges in Latao, by using gold profits achieved by the national bank. And the session will take another 5 hours discussing tax laws for gambling casinos.

Now wait and see, if our partners accept this framework...but so far it seems OK.

What should we do with goods confiscated by the foreign teams, such as drugs or smugglings ?
