January 10, Year 1000
With the Great Storm approaching Legalese, a group of travelers attempt to flee, thinking the waters of the Crystilakerean Channel will provide safety from the worsening storm. In all, hundreds of boats/ships launch, carrying approx. 8500 Legalites.
January 12, 1000
The Great Storm hits Legalese, causing rough waters off the shore. Another 5000 Legalites are believed to have fled for the water, but the true number is unknown, as many are also believed to have been lost in the Channel, as a result of the storm.
January 13, 1000
The first of the ships from Jan 10 land on the coast of the island to the southeast of Legalese. The first settlement, named Iuria, starts on the shore, north of Chacor, in a part of the region known as "Area 13"
January 14, 1000
A second settlement begins, landing further north. This settlement is named Martinston.
January 20, 1000
Iuria and Martinson make contact with each other, and work to establish infrastructure and order. Both establish commissions to facilitate their efforts.
January 31, 1000
A travelling party near Martinson encounter a hunter from a nearby city. Upon further discovery, the party discovers a nearly modern (think 1920's-ish RL) society, called the Giusti.
February 15, 1000
The Giusti and Legalite Settlers meet. The settlements join the alliance of Giusti cities, which were presently negotiating the creation of a central government.
May 17, 1000
The Giustian Republic is formed by the ratification of the Giustian Code. This code is interestingly similar to that of Legalese's. The colors of Green and Silver are used on the flag.
August 14, 1000
A society makes itself known to the north of the Giustians. They refer to themselves as the Tizali. A small faction of Tizalian "war hawks" take control of the Tizalis, and declare war on the northernmost city-region of the Guistian Republic.
September 17, 1000
The battle in the north ends, as the Green-clad Giustians strike into the Tizali mainland, deposing the extremists. Moderate Tizalis join the Gustians in peace talks.
September 28, 1000
Peace is finalized, as the Giustians and Tizalis agree to a full federal republic, known as the Allied States of Giustizalia. The new flag combines the colors of the three settlement groups: the Greens of the Giusti, the Silver of the new Settlers, and the Gold of the Tizali. A bicameral legislature, with a federal executive and independent judicial system. Efforts are made to modernize Giustizalia.
September 28, 1020
20 years after the founding of Giustalia, President Victor Jordan calls for the opening of diplomatic relations, with the approval of the legislature.

The Free Lands of Nedalia welcome Giustizalia and hope to establish a long and peaceful, as well as productive, relations with this emerging country. We have already gotten approval from the President to ask you if you wish to begin such relations, which will hopefully result in us dispatching our respective delegations to our respective countries.

The Great Legalese Storm also gave the southern Starblaydi provinces some rather inclement weather for a while, and as such we recognise the dangerous flight from Legalese these brave souls had to make, Starblaydia officially welcomes the formation of Giustizalia. |

The Consul sure seems excited about this discovery, thought Marcia, who then responded. "Yes sir, it's right here. Would you like to read it?"
"Certainly, dear. Thank you." Marcus took the letter from Marcia, and read it:

On behalf of the Senate and Judicial Republic of Legalese, I welcome you and your fellow Giustizalians into the international world. We would welcome an additional trading partner, and most importantly, a new friend in the region. I would like to visit Giustizalia, when it is possible for both of us to find some time to talk.
