"NANN's coverage of the AOlympic Games will draw to a close for the night, but before we go, one last preview. In what many experts in Ainorpisp agree should be our nation's strongest events, just above swimming, Rosalinda Chrysler and Thu Declet will competing in the first wave of Rowing events tomorrow. Beginning with the Coxless Pairs heats tomorrow, Ainorpisp's two veteran rowers look to post strong times against very tough competition. Besting athletes from N.C.D., Vilita, Wapahkoneta, and Crystilakere will be no easy task. If nothing else, it should be exciting to watch."

"This is Graham Palin signing off from Avid-Diord, good night everybody."

"...with the Coxless pairs split into two heats, the Starblaydi pair of Lambros Choutos and Anestis Tsitsonis are looking to power their way into the final in two days time. This first test is to finish in the top three of their five-boat heat and we'll have that for you, live, very shortly..."

"Well, I don't think it's any secret who is favored for gold in the coxless pairs."

"Who's that?"

"WHOS THAT???!! How can you even be asking that? A bunch of Indians signed up and you ask who's that. Wapahkoneta's that. They are going to be untouchable unless they screw up or see a big bird!"

"So What of the Vilitans?"

"They will be lucky to scrape out of the first heat, but I think that their heat is by far the strongest of the Two, and with the exception of Host-Inspired Krytenia possibly playing a factor, the top 3 in Heat Two could well be the three standing on the podium come Medal day."

"After setbacks in other events for the Ainorpispian Olympic team, there was some good news in rowing today. The tandem of Rosalinda Chrysler and Thu Declet competed in the second heat of the qualifiers in Coxless Pairs today with very impressive results. Coming in first in their heat, Chrysler and Declet not only advanced to the finals, but posted the best time of the day in Coxless Pairs. Our congratulations to the Chrysler/Declet tandem, and good luck in the finals. The competition will be fierce in the finals, but if Chrysler and Declet repeat a performance such as today's, they may very well find themselves on the medal stand."

Lambros and Anestis power through to the Final

Registering the third-fastest time of the Heats, the Starblaydi pair of Lambros Choutos and Anestis Tsitsonis eased themselves into the Coxless Pairs Rowing Final. The powerful duo from the former povinces of Nemya showed their skill and courage to cross the line three whole seconds ahead of their nearest challengers.

Is a medal likely for the pair? We say... 'very'.

In the Coxless Pairs, the duo of De Hoey and Dubilasco qualified from their heat, and even though they were fifth fastest overall, they are still in with a chance of the medals. But they'll be hard pressed to beat the Ainorpisp pair, who were fastest by almost a second.

DRUIDSPORT NEWSFLASH

Meanwhile, there was deep disappointment for one of our big Druidish medal hopes, when the coxless pair of Yurner and Magee-Dennis came a convincing last in their heat. Afterwards, we interviewed neither of them, as they were so disappointing, though there are rumours that Magee-Dannis was carrying a slight side strain going into the event.

Choutos and Tsitsonis are Starblaydia's Golden Duo
Great win in the Coxless Pairs Rowing Final

We said that a Medal was 'very likely' for the Starblaydi Coxless Pair of Lambros Choutos and Anestis Tsitsonis, but we never expected it to be a Gold!

The Duo, from the former Nemyan Provinces, powered beyond their nearest opposition upon reaching the 1700 metre-mark. For the next three-hundred metres they gradually pulled out a lead with every stroke, eventually crossing the line over a second and a half ahead of the Ainorpisp crew.

Lambros Choutos and Anestis Tsitsonis are the first ever Starblaydi Gold Medallists and as such their names will go down in sporting history in the halls of sports and athletics clubs around the nation.

Well done, boys!

Chrysler/Declet win first medal for Ainorpisp!

After setting a world record in the opening heat of the Coxless Pairs rowing event, Rosalinda Chrysler and Thu Declet have won the first medal for Ainorpisp. While they failed to capture a gold, there is no shame in the silver medal, as both rowers told NANN. The pair hopes to have set a precedent for the other rowing events, in which the two women will be the anchor of both respective Ainorpispan teams.
