Hosting the Olympic Games does not mean a bye to the first round, at least not in the Singles Tennis competition.

Tim Lopez is the unfortunate soul who has to qualify - he takes on Pedriana's Gregorio Saale as a thirteen-strong field is whittled down to eight.

Morten Davison, however, is one of the lucky five to receive a bye.

Aquiliana Is Awful at Everything but Tennis
Although that one hasn't quite been decided yet

"Well, after the Aquil competitors have been eliminated from nearly every event already, Strepitus Iactor managed to defeat Krytenia's Tim Lopez in 3 sets, advancing himself into the semifinals. It looks like Iactor's speed gave him the advantage in this match, allowing him to put more balls in play than most other players can, and Lopez just couldn't keep up the pace near the end. A great match, and hopefully the semifinal will be the same. Bill?"
