The people of Lesser Ribena have overthrown the liberal government that has served them for many years and have welcomed back the royal family that they themselves exiled 50 years ago. The descendant of the last King now sits on the throne of Lesser Ribena and has been sworn in as the new leader. The government will still play a role in the everyday running of the country but all major decisions are said to rest with King Charles. New elections will be held next month. The senior cabinet members will stay as advisors to the new monarch.
The Foreign Affairs department would like to assure all foreign governments that the coup was bloodless and although there is still some civil unrest and celebrations there is no danger to any foreign nationals in the country.
An announcement will be made by the new King shortly.
I hope that our relationships will be unchanged by this development,
Long Live The King!
Louise Simpson, Head of Department of Foreign Affairs, The Kingdom Of Lesser Ribena.
