Upon hearing the Latin 'proposal', Dewars Strand simply laughed, stood up, and excused himself. On the plane back to Kafra, Minister Strand contacted President Bren.
"Yes President, I attended the meeting, but I might as well not have wasted my time. The Latins basically threatened the Holy Saints, telling them that if they dont concede the large island between the two countries, then they will side with us in this war. And if they do come to an agreement, they will recognize the islands as THS land."
"What are the Latins doing? So much for their help then."
"Indeed, sir. Looks like this battle we will be fighting alone."
"The way its always been, my good friend Dewars. Its a shame that freedom means nothing to anyone anymore. If we concede those islands, then we shall be forever live under the mercy of the Holy Saints..."
"Sir, you're doing the right thing. We have been forced into this war, and we must fight...unfortunately, there is no way around it. The Latin forces should already be deploying forces on the islands."
"I gave the word to Commander Horacio to tell the military not to attack Latin personnel or forces, for now. They haven't made any wrong moves as of yet, and who knows, their intentions might prove right afterall."
"The benefit of a doubt, sir?"
"Exactly. For now, our reinforcement on both islands has reached 7,000 and 3,000 more is planned for each. All equiped with AA Artillery, and before long, we'll start sending tanks. But we are still holding our positions on Temple Island on the northern coast all the way up to the central village. On East Island, the battle ensues, the THS aircraft did a number on our SAM sites, but we recently sent more...so we should be good on that front. Troops keep landing, and we're continually pushing towards dimensional gate."
"Alright, sir. I will be arriving in Kafra shortly. Goodbye, and God Bless."

After the guests left, the two initiators Nadia Pumia and Roger Omsec had a little chat
NP: Do you think they buy that ?
RO: Who cares ? We'll be the winner in both cases.
NP: How in detail ?
RO: We get the sea-channel-island in THS agrees. If they don't it might lead to the same situation - they can't fight two countries at the same time, especially not one protected by a strong alliance. And as insurance, we have Nova Roma and Starblaydia.
NP: How should I deal with Nedalia ?
RO: For now, the ball is up to the Holy Saints. We should however keep contact with them, we will not take any military actions against their troops; I think it's actually an option to support them.
NP: I see, our next move is not published before we get an answer from THS.
RO: Right. What are you going to do on this warm evening ? Come have a drink with me at the Luciaria beach bar...

Gerard Louvre, Nedalian Minister of Defense, was in the central village of Temple Island, awaiting the final paper work from the Holy Saints. In the previous 3 hours, right after the meeting with the Latins, Nedalian officials again contacted THS forces in an attempt to end the pointless bloodshed, taking it upon themselves again due to the fact that nothing was accomplished at the meeting. Upon heavy debate, an agreement was reached between the two warring nations.
Two days after the beginning of battle, and a total of 793 Nedalian infantry deaths (and the destruction of 6 AA Artillery), a cease-fire was agreed. The agreement stated that HS were to have the islands, but in return, they shall not intrude in Nedalia’s colonization of Land No.20, which was happening as we speak. Since THS were to possess the two islands, if Nedalia did not colonize the land, then they would have no free southern coastline, which would ruin the economy of the country. The 20,000 strong troops, the tanks, and the AA Artillery, upon the finalization of the paperwork, were to begin withdrawing and in an hour or so, begin landing on the Land No.20, which Nedalia had dubbed Sallam, which translates into peace.
Finally, the Holy Saints officials showed up with what appeared to be their half of the internationally recognized and protected agreement….

The HS' government requests the withdrawal of any Latin forces in the area, immediately. If Latin forces do not retreat in a timely manner, there will be consequences.
Fenix awaited the full retreat of all international forces before he would begin the extermination of the local humanoid inhabitants. The pirates had all either been killed or had retreated onto their ship, which was being hunted by one of the air wings deployed on the islands. |

Two days after the beginning of the first international Nedalian war, which has been called ‘The Battle of the Southern Islands’, a cease-fire had been agreed with Holy Saints forces. The Nedalian troops, personnel, and warfare machines were being relocated to what is now known as Sallam. Generals Optam and Drown were spearheading the mission, already setting up base not too far away from the official Nedalian border. Two southern towns had already been contacted with, and meetings with them and the Generals were to take place very soon. The word from President Bren was to show them that the Nedalians and these natives were one; force would hopefully not be necessary in integrated the natives into Nedalia… |

THS is fully mobilizing its forces, 156,800,000 troops(ooc: 3.35% of the population, just so ya know I'm not a god-modding bastard.) that are well armed and trained. These troops will be fully mobilised in 10 days, and they will be ready to invade your homeland in another 6 if you do not concede.
Our troops are prepared to destroy your nation and any other nation that wishes to interfere. Do not be foolish and waste away what could potentially be a worthy nation in the future. We understand that you are desperate to get something out of this debacle, but we are afraied that we simply cannot allow that. Now, concede or be destroyed, it is all in your hands.

The way, THS self-confidently acts amuses us. The day will come for the ones praying for the downfall of the Latin race, when there is no laughing matter for them anymore.
The situation between THS and Nedalia offered amazing potential. For reasons only god know, they decided overhasty to surrender. They wasted best chances to conquer your selfish nation and to take over these islands.
Our strategic interests are gone with the wind, as the situation changed basically with this fatal step taken by the Nedalian leaders.
The Confederacy of Latao shall therefore withdraw its forces for this time.
Be stated, that this move is taking place from a position of strength, not of weakness, as there is no reason for us to stay currently on said island.
The nation of THS should not imagine that this game is over – the curtain isn’t dropped yet. The question of the Latin channel must be answered.
Latao will be the world – Latao will be the people – We are the people!
Latao doesn't release sensitive information of this kind, that's why these assets arent exposed on our state's financial reports

We understand that, in your nation, cowardice must be a sign of strength.
We also wish to make it clear that the question is answered and un-debatable. The game is over.
As for Latao being the world, not as long as The Conclave still resides a few hundred kilometers from your borders.
A nation with nothing to fear will release any sign of it's greatness whenever it can. What have you to fear? |
