The Myrtannian Basketball League, in cooperation with the Ministries of Sport and State and Foreign Affairs are pleased to announce the Second Atlantian Oceania Regional Basketball Championship. Last time, after fierce competition through the round robin stage, four teams emerged to battle for the title of regional roundball kings. When the dust settled, Lamoni won its first regional sporting title by narrowly defeating a talented Andossa Se Mitrin Vega squad.

Will the Hawks return and defend their championship? Or will ASMV pull it out in the end this time? Or, will a new team rise to take the crown of basketball champion?

Proposed venues will be the same as AORBC I, and competing nations will still have the option to enter into either the men's or women's divisions. However, if there are not at least four women's squads entered, the two divisions will be combined to allow for mixed teams (one per nation if this is the case).

The Hoop Dragons will be back for some revenge of their finals loss. We plan on taking the title this time biggrin.gif

The women will also return if that is the case to avenge their finals loss to Myrtannia as well.

I look forward to seeing eveyone on the hardwood.

Lamoni will of course compete in the AORBC II with a men's team. We have a title to defend, after all.

So far, we have (regional ranking in parenthesis):

Men's Division: 7/8 minimum
Andossa Se Mitrin Vega (2)
Bazalonia
Dorian & Sonya
Geisenfried
Iksonic
Lamoni (1)
Myrtannia (4)

Women's Division: 4/4 minimum
Andossa Se Mitrin Vega (2)
Dorian & Sonya
Geisenfried
Myrtannia (1)

So, the women's division is ready to go with four entrants, fulfilling the minimum, but more entrants are certainly welcome. The men's division needs at least one more entrant to create a playing field, but more than one are certainly welcome to join in. Come one, come all!

The Silver Sharks will be back, and believe me, we have our eyes on the prize. Our opponents better be ready for a fight, because we are bringing hell to the courts. smile.gif

So far, the field for AORBC II is as follows (regional ranking in parenthesis):

Men's Division: 9/8 minimum
Andossa Se Mitrin Vega (2)
Bazalonia
Dorian and Sonya
Geisenfried
Iksonic
Khazaron (5)
Lamoni (1)
Myrtannia (4)
Nedalia (3)

Women's Division: 4/4 minimum
Andossa Se Mitrin Vega (2)
Dorian and Sonya
Geisenfried
Myrtannia (1)

So all the minimum requirements for the field have been completed, but there's still time to sign up for AORBC II! Any comers to the men's and/or women's divisions are welcome, and signups will be extended through Monday, April 18, 2006. Once signups have closed the groupings for the men's division will be announced, and the schedule for both posted. Thanks to everyone who's signed on so far, and anyone interested in joining please do so!
