I can reply, but can't seem to start posts anywhere, which is a real problem when you're trying to post factbooks. It's probably something obvious that I've amazingly managed to miss, but... yeah...

Ah, the wonders of the AO forum. You can edit your posts up to about 5 minutes after you post, for typo correction and such. As for starting new posts, you'll need to have your access to that granted by Vilita for that kinda of thing. I'll poke him later to do so.
If you're desperate to post a factbook, I can start a thread for you that you can reply to. |

Didn't some cartographers use South as the orientation point for their maps? Not to say I'd prefer it this way, but I seem to remember reading something about that. I think it may have said Arabic cartographers or something, I could be wrong though. |

Huh? I think I may have missed something there. I was just making a comment based on the switch of the map. Not to say that the comment had anything to do with why it was done, just that it poped into my head when the discussion got started. |

I see. If you've contacted Vilita, I won't bother messaging him, but if you haven't, I will.
I'm only kind of in a rush to get a factbook up so that I can validate my claim, and to do that, I need to post info. Those are your rules.
Now, back to waiting for posting rights.

I have a quick question about the scale of the map. What is the scale? That way I can do close-up maps of specific areas.
In other words, 1 pixel = ? sq miles/km
Anyone know? |

There is no scale, really, it allows for greater RP freedom. But the way I'm doing it for the Amazing Race, is that a direct flight from Timiocato to Gabalfa (Bettia) is just short of eight hours. A comparative flight would exist between Toronto and London or New York and Vienna.
But, yeah, there's no land scale for RP freedom. Cos I have 3.9 million sq km and if there were a scale, I would be, for example, about 4 times the size of Sarzonia (on a scaled map). But on this map, I only appear slightly larger.
