Atlantian Oceania's very own Golden League will have it's first meeting in the Starblaydi Captial city of Jhanna. The 96,000 capacity Jader Barbalho Stadium The following events are available for entry. A Maximum of three named athletes per individual event are allowed, of course relays require 4 competitors. You do not have to fill up every event. In future Golden League meetings, other events (e.g. Field events like long jump, pole vault etc may be added, but for now it's just the track, as that's all I can currently do with my scorinator)
Once the Jhanna Meeting nears completion other cities (hopefully captials) can bid for the next Meeting. Hopeful Excel-minded people will be able to create scorinators for the field events as we go along. Right, that's ten then. I'll sort all the athletes and events out, then we can start some running soon. |

The ASMV track team is looking forward to the many medals they will win in this Golden League event. And also offers its sympathy to those teams that it will beat on the track in advance. We fully expect to win this event, as we can run faster than we can bull-explicitive removed- about running fast. |
Posted by: Krytenia Nov 1 2005, 05:25 AM
You may be able to run faster, but we have the endurance. anything more than one lap is ours, buster. [/trashtalk] |
Posted by: Lamoni Nov 1 2005, 07:37 PM |
[trashtalk] ASMV may have speed, and Kry may have endurance, but Lamoni has brains. We may lose the shorter events, but i'll put brains over endurance any day. Lamoni will win the medals here. [/trashtalk] |
Posted by: Krytenia Nov 3 2005, 08:23 PM
And when a brain puts on running spikes, I'll give you a gold medal. |
Posted by: Andossa Se Mitrin Vega Nov 4 2005, 04:08 AM
Ahh, a good laugh.. Good one. I'll take my chances with speed anyday |

OOC: Do we have any idea when the Golden League is actually going to start? |
Posted by: Krytenia Nov 4 2005, 07:25 PM |
OOC: Probably when Star gets the bugs out of the scorinatior, and/or has a decent amount of free time. Best guess: Give it 7-10 days. |
Posted by: Nojika Dec 1 2005, 02:27 AM
...or a month. Star, have you abandoned this competition? |
Posted by: Starblaydia Dec 1 2005, 07:24 AM |
I didn't abandon it, I swear. I just looked away for two seconds at some other threads and then it was gone. Honest. I should attach a leash to it, or something *sigh* just... gimme some time. Again. |
Posted by: Krytenia Dec 1 2005, 05:00 PM
Let's just hope for your nation's sake your runners are faster than your organisers. |

If it's not too late yet - and our Minister of Defense really hopes it isn't - King Alfons of Spruitland would like to compete in the Marathon. That'd be the Men's Marathon, just to be absolutely clear. We do hope there will be medical teams stading by, right? His Majesty claims he is in the form of his life, but he has been known to exaggerate slightly. |
Posted by: Starblaydia Jan 6 2006, 06:45 AM |
Kry (as you may have guessed) now controls this wonderful thing, so badger him, Ahh, a good laugh.. Do I get to be like France now? Claiming to have invented and created everything so I can have a reason for being -explicitive removed-? |
Posted by: Krytenia Jan 6 2006, 05:17 PM |
Gonna keep the signups open for a while longer, whilst I set up the NS Champions League (still 2 places left, plug plug) and wait for the results of the Cherry Cup vote. This could mean me hosting THREE sporting events simultaneously. I am, indeed, mental. |
Posted by: Starblaydia Jan 7 2006, 06:12 AM |
Yes, you are mental, but not as much as KN, who's letting you host the CC. |
Posted by: Krytenia Jan 8 2006, 02:01 PM
Or you, who's letting me host this. |
Posted by: Krytenia Feb 23 2006, 08:03 PM |
Right. With the Cherry Cup and NSCL now in their knockout stages, I am going to RESTORE! the Golden League. Anyone still interested, please raise your metaphorical (or else left or right) hand. (Also, type that you are doing so with the other one.) |
Posted by: Lamoni Feb 23 2006, 08:44 PM |
*Raises hand* |
Posted by: Spruitland Feb 25 2006, 08:41 AM |
King Alfons' brand new sneakers have been collecting dust in the Royal Closet and, while His Majesty's attention span is normally rather short, it seems he has - unfortunately - not forgotten his application to compete in the Marathon. (OOC: when "scorinating" the marathon, feel free to give the King an adequately negative skill-bonus or something, or multiply his time by a factor of two or three, or whatever. It'd be rather silly to have him finish in a professional time. |
