AO Forum :: > Sporting Events > AOCAF 25 Signups |
Posted by: Starblaydia Jan 10 2009, 04:43 AM |
With lots of promises of participation and such, this could be the best AOCAF in a while. Will Lamoni be able to defend their third title and draw level with the great NEWI Cefn Druids sides of the past? Will Starblaydia get their revenge for last time and win an unprecedented seventh regional title? Will Pacitalia finally get the glory they deserve with a championship trophy? Will Sarzonia's return to international football begin with a bang? Will Nojika RP? Will Bazalonia, Krytenia or Manhattan Prime sneak in beyond all of those to take the title? Will something completely different happen? Sign-ups (15) Starblaydia Koseli Cumhuriyetler Bazalonia Lamoni Sarzonia Nojika Allemenschen Sorthern Northland 95X Fidelia Demot Krytenia Pacitalia Edward City Bettia Host Allemenschen, in the stadia of Wapakhoneta, AO's Regional Council territory. |

Posted by: 95X-Scottfire Jan 10 2009, 06:17 PM |
95X is in... ...the question is... ...will I have time to RP, much less post a roster?! (OOC: Full-time student, taking first [and hopefully last!] online-only class ever, and the project manager at the college I attend left the college, leaving me and a bunch of other folks in limbo. Oh well, nobody said life was easy.) |

Fidelia is in! |

Posted by: Allemenschen Jan 13 2009, 10:50 AM |
If WAP is willing to host the event, I'm willing to score the event (as per our conversion on the AO NS forums). |
Posted by: Pacitalia Jan 13 2009, 03:40 PM |
I guess I'm in... if I win the darn thing I'll probably just chuckle to myself and then never participate again. |
Posted by: Edward City Jan 14 2009, 01:16 AM |
I'll sign-up! |
Posted by: Bazalonia Jan 14 2009, 03:11 AM |
Latest Rankings are available online... (thanks to Commerce Heights) This is in OpenOffice Format... If you don't have it, you can download it from http://www.openoffice.org for free. http://www.thirdgeek.com/ns/aocaf/rankings/25/ Edit: Please note, there may be a slight error. "Kose and The Turkomans" should read "Koseli Cumhuriyetler" |
Posted by: Pacitalia Jan 14 2009, 05:21 AM |
For those of us that aren't going to bother downloading the entire OpenOffice suite, can you please just post the text-format ranks on here? EDIT: Never mind, the file opens in TextEdit for Mac users, but it's slow to load. Make sure you maximise the window to ensure you see it properly. |

For those of us who don't have Open Office (or use it like a goddess): 1.) Starblaydia 2.) Lamoni 3.) Bazalonia 4.) Pacitalia 5.) Krytenia 6.) 95X 7.) Demot 8.) Nojika 9.) Koseli Cumhuriyetler 10.) Sarzonia ***UNR*** Allemenschen Edward City Fidelia Sorthern Northland These are the ranks that will be used in the upcoming AOCAF25. Also, as I am assuming by the good will that is that only bid for hosting the tourney, I'll wait until Friday to close the Sing-ups and start making all of this mess that will hopefully blossom into something very special. So in a summary:
Oh, and Star, there are actually 14 sign-ups ATM... |
Posted by: Manhattan Prime Jan 14 2009, 11:43 AM |
Shouldn't Fidelia be allowed to use Manhattan Prime's ranking, considering it's the same country with the same players, that has changed it's name? Or is that going to be a problem - if so I don't mind starting from a clean slate. |
Posted by: Pacitalia Jan 14 2009, 02:00 PM
I agree. The country may have changed a little but the footy team is continuous... |
Posted by: Starblaydia Jan 14 2009, 02:07 PM
Seconded, it's happened many-a time in the WC, not to mention Kose Cumhurryupmatey is just Kose and The Turkomans in disguise. |
Posted by: Allemenschen Jan 14 2009, 02:19 PM
Actually, as a note of stupidity, I never figured that Fidelia = Manhattan Prime, until I was swooping around II and saw Manhattan Prime posing as Fidelia. 1+1 = 2, so I've already made the change in the RP scores... now, just as long as Krytie doesn't become West Starblaydia again, we'll be alright. And as I can't edit my original post, just know that things will be alright |
Posted by: Manhattan Prime Jan 14 2009, 03:44 PM |
Ok mate, just making sure |
Posted by: Bazalonia Jan 15 2009, 02:32 AM |
Oh, there is one other thing Usually when new nations enter they don't start with 0 points They start with 1pt, except new puppets which start at .5 |
Posted by: Allemenschen Jan 15 2009, 09:19 AM
That is most reassuring... *boosts new-entry to %$#^ points!!!* Puppets of course will get %$#^/2 points... |
Posted by: Bettia Jan 16 2009, 04:38 AM |
Is this an AOCAF which I see before me, the trophy nowhere near my hand? Come, let me clutch thee! |
Posted by: Starblaydia Jan 16 2009, 06:37 AM
15 seems an appropriate but irritating point to close sign-ups. One more nation or shall we just crack on? |
Posted by: Nojika Jan 16 2009, 07:13 AM |
I think we should wait for one more... |
Posted by: Allemenschen Jan 16 2009, 09:59 AM |
I'll keep it open for a little while longer... In the meantime... Roster Threat coming up! |
Posted by: Allemenschen Jan 16 2009, 11:25 AM |
http://www.3wideracing.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=32&t=2103 Go get 'em! Tentatively, I have three groups of 5, with the the top 2 running into the quarterfinals, with the final two spots decided by the best placed 3rd ranked teams. Hopefully, I can recruit some lovely person to fill our last remaining spot. |
Posted by: Vephrall Jan 17 2009, 12:41 PM |
I think I can fit that bill. Vephrall is in. |
Posted by: Allemenschen Jan 17 2009, 12:50 PM |
And sign-ups are now closed!!!! Thanks to all who signed up! |
Posted by: Allemenschen Jan 17 2009, 01:43 PM |
I think that with the sign-ups now closed and all 16 teams registered into the competition, it'd fair to say that we can advance the schedule just a little bit to start the matches at 0000GMT Tuesday, which should be the approximate time for scores. A little about the tourney scheme: 4 groups of 4 compete for the top two spots, with each team playing the other once. Minimum number of matches played is 3. The top two of each group progress to the Quarterfinals, the winners to the Semifinals, and then the winners to the Final. Each MD will be 48 hours, to allow the most time available to all teams RPing (if any). So your tentative schedule will be as follows: MD1 - Jan 19/20 (0000GMT) MD2 - Jan 21/22 MD3 - Jan 23/24 QTF - Jan 25/26 SMF - Jan 27/28 Final - Jan 29/30 The Group Draw will be later on tonight. |
