Population in Area as of Now: 160,000,000. Population Race: 83% Native 'Berklands', 6% Foriegn Holy Saints, 11% foriegn Turorian(sp?) History: Colonized over 25.000 years ago by humans from the southern mainland, around THS and areas to the west of THS homeland, the lushly forested area is a haven for companies looking for resources and naturalists alike, much like the South American Rain forests. the local inhabitants have so far developed a slightly industrialized society and have developed some trade routes with more developed nations. THS Plan: Move in and over a series of years, develop and understanding of the culture while setting up shop in the main industrial and economic centers of the area. Gradually, we will develop autonomous settlements of our own and try to keep the environment at the locals liking, gradually gaining the acceptance of the society there. If approved, our diplomats, economists, and representative colonists will move in a t a moments notice. |

Will this new region have a seperate or delegated government, or will it be fully integrated with THS control. If Integrated, How will the natives be viewed on THS mainland; If not integrated, will it be taking on a colonial form (name) or still functioning under the THS banner? |

This is quite a huge land acquisition. Soul Expression is intrigued by this request. Soul Expression made a small land extension that was approved, then unexplainably discarded. Soul expression was made, yet again, to re-apply for our desired extension. All these difficulties to obtain a small tract of land compared to the immense territory Holy Saints is coveting. In view of the fact that Soul Expression's own request for land extension has been stalled and cluttered with bureaucratic red tape, we are compelled to question, even oppose, for the sake of international equity, any nation's request for additional territory. |

Your original allocation of land was repealled as it was granted as part of a peace treaty for a war you were not a part of. All you have to do to be given the requested land is answer a question that has been asked to you 4 or 5 times already in the thread, and then you will have it. But as with this most recent post, you keep replying and typing and when you've finished typing, you've in essence said nothing relevant to the thread you've posted in.
Instead of opposing it for this reason, why don't you bring up actual reasons for objecting to this move so they can be discussed, understood and explained. |

The tract of land you are talking about is not the same we are talking about. That land, we never asked for and it was thrust upon us at the conclusion of a war we were never remotely a part of. We requested a land extension to the SOUTH, to have a waterway to the SOUTH. The request was approved and the mad readjusted. With the advent of the new map, we lost parts of our land and now have to go through the whole process again. Look, If you read my posts properly, you will see that not only are all those questions answered, but they were answered more than once. How many times should I repeat myself. Quote: Instead of opposing it for this reason, why don't you bring up actual reasons for objecting to this move so they can be discussed, understood and explained. You might not see this as a valid reason but for Soul Expression, it is reason enough. Soul Expression would let it be known clearly that we make decisions for ourselves. We will not be dictated to by anyone! Cope with our statements and/or actions anyway you wish, but any attempt to dictate to us how we should react to international incidents will only encite resentment in the peoples of Soul Expression for the dictators. |

In anticipation of Soul expression being, yet again, asked to reiterate repeatedly, we repeat our reasons. We do not feel another nation should be granted any additional territory when Soul Expression has been denied a smaller land extension with very respectable objectives. Soul Expression is an ardent defender of justice and, but for the fact that Soul Expression land extension was requested previously, we do not approve of advancing in this domain until the previous issues are settled. |

The request was approved by a disillusioned artist, against the rules approved by the legislature. As you may have noticed, the old map was designed without using the latest orbital figures, but we assure you the latest one is the most accurate as of yet. There was no process that you had to go through last time, which is why the process, passed by legislature, has to be gone through.
Your request has not been denied. it has already been drawn up on the map and is waiting to be uploaded once the situation between you and Crystilakere is cleared up and he is satisfied with your response to his concerns. |

Soul Expresion does not care about Crystilakere, if they want, they can declare war on us, for all we care. 1 nation will not overshadow a unanimous majority for something that doesn't even affect them. I would hate to go through this again, but THS is a much larger nation than yourself. It is definately because he's been playing longer, but this is his right to expand as he sees fit. There is also no need to argue in this thread about your expansion, there is a seperate thread for you, and I believe any posts concerning your expansion should be posted there. It wouldn't be that hard for you just to answer the question, there is no need to argue over the topic back and forth. If you just argue, you'll never get your land, so just do what is asked and it will be fine. I do not object to the expansion of The Holy Saints, as long as any questions asked about his further influence to the south are answered. |

There will be a gradual integration process, going further from the already established native cultural/economic/industrial centers. The area will be divided into provincial forms based on original claims by tribes and or small communities, along with small entities other than the aforementioned two. In addition to this, free education, legislative, and governmental infrastructure will be provided at the request by and entity in the land requested. All the information on how to request this will be sent by a member of THS diplomatic corps, and every group of about 5 villages will be given such a member to obtain the information. THS has learned from the mistakes of past colonial landgrabs, such as the ones exhibited by Great Britain, France, etc, and will strive at the utmost to allow for a fair, orderly, and democratic way of introducing THS cultural, economic, and other such values to the local entities. THS citizens have been looking forward to this land request and have been going there for literally centuries for vacations, economic ventures, and other expeditions and have learned to love the culture, and THS would like to preserve the culture as the natives see fit, without any unnecessary influence from abroad. These measures are mostly to ensure the preservation of the great cultures present in the area, but more importantly, to have a stable introduction of the area into THS control. |

The Holy Empire of Lieno can see no legitimate reason to oppose the integration of the aforementioned area into The Holy Saints. We would add that The Holy Saints has always treated fairly with our small nation even with the disparity in size and the closeness in proximity. Although the resources of The Holy Saints are beyond measure, we would offer our support in whatever manner would assist. by the order of Emperor Theodore VIII |

My nation is being surrounded and if any of these proposals are accepted then my shipping will become very hampered. I have a new proposal which I hope that THS and other nations interested can agree to. THS gets most of the land which they originally wanted, but my nation gets a slight expansion by taking the right tip of the lower island from the right to the center of the lake. That will give both nations adaquate room and shipping lanes. |
Posted by: Exham May 29 2004, 03:34 PM |
By original request I mean the one THS posted in the map thread, so that THS takes more of the island's center. |
Posted by: Holy Saints May 30 2004, 03:18 PM |
well, in theory we could set up neutral ports, with no government in charge of them, but multiple governments having some jurisdiction in them. |
Posted by: Exham May 31 2004, 03:58 PM |
Perhaps, but a lot of operational problems could come of it, I only want a small tip of the island as party of Exham's soveriegn territory. Your nation can take as much of the center as you want, I just want to have a place to use for trade and as a customs port to stop contraband from reaching Exham's mainland |

So then, when do we go by Nation States and when dont we? I was told you ignore Nation States in the Crystilakere incident. Also, the world's population could fit in Texas, although pretty cramped, Im sure. Canada is bigger than USA but we only have 10% of their population. Holy Saints has plenty of room to accomodate its people without worrying about overcrowding. This issue is not raised against Holy Saints but any nation that would make such a request. Soul Expression is still learning to understand this world's international politics and procedures and want to be assured that there is consistancy of proceedures enough for us to comprehend how to function properly in it. |

Seeing as we do not have a relative scale on the map, it is hard to gauge how much land is actually owned by a person. So you could argue that either way, it depends on what the region decides really. |
Posted by: Holy Saints Jun 1 2004, 10:06 AM
Why are you debating size when my reasoning is natural resources and bringing prosperity to the people in that island? thats pretty dumb to do when in my description it even says "barren wasteland", so im trying to get more land w/ resources to keep my economy up. |
Posted by: Holy Saints Jun 2 2004, 08:54 PM |
Are there more objections to my expansion? and Soul Expression, reiterate your point if you feel you need to, as i want this totally fair to all nations. |
Posted by: Holy Saints Jun 3 2004, 08:33 PM |
Well, seeing as in 24 hours no opposition has been posed, shall it be granted? |
Posted by: Holy Saints Jun 4 2004, 04:43 PM
no problem. You can have the tip. i just want the inner resources and getting a nice tourist spot. |
