WHO: Tropicorp is a quasi-governmental corporation created to conduct Research, Development and Production activities primarily on behalf of the Tropics of Vilita.

WHY: Major corporations and media outlets are often mistrusted by the Vilitan public. Additionally, a desire to preserve and protect the 'natural beauty' of the Vilitan environment and health of the Vilitan population, particularly after the effects of the Radiation from the collapse of Sorthern Northland, forced many Vilitan production facilities to cease operations or search for a place to conduct their business on foreign soil.

Realizing that the departures of major corporations would not only have the potential to harm the Vilitan economy, but also leave the Tropics at a technological disadvantage should it have to start importing basic goods like paper and wood despite the plethora of trees in the Island Nation, the Vilitan government identified the opportunity to utilize a region of long-lost Vilitan lands on the primary Atlantian Oceania of Calania to re-locate and resume the industrial activities that no longer seemed welcome on the Vilitan mainland.

In addition to simplicities like wood and rubber, however, Tropicorp's location away from the mainland Vilitan population would also allow it to conduct Research and Development activities on new and potentially dangerous technologies - allowing the engineer's and scientists within the organization to take more risks with more land and resources to utilize without the fear of protests by or danger to the general population.

WHAT: Tropicorp has quickly become the leading supplier of Wood to the Tropics of Vilita, with much of the earlier wood production coming from the inital clearing of lands required to build the primary facilities to support research and development activities within Tropicorp. From there, Tropicorp's first development effort came in the world of high-performance racing Tyres. After developing their first high performance tyre, nicknamed the "Sifaka" - Tropicorp invested with Vilita & Turori Motorsports to create an entry in the NationStates Super Formula Championships. The investment would prove to be well placed. Tropicorp driver iBen Toralmintii would be crowned the series champion after winning the final race of the circuit and the Tropicorp Sifaka tyre was the top performing tyre on the season, quickly resulting in orders for the high-performance tyre from Auto-Racing teams from throughout the multiverse.

After their initial successes, Tropicorp is looking to continue its progress and emphasize its Research & Development capabilities by creating a regional center of excellence where Engineers & Scientists from throughout the Atlantian Oceania region could come together and have the freedom to work on new and innovative ideas, capabilities, inventions and products.

While its exclusivity agreement with the Tropics of Vilita remains, the regional center of excellence on Tropicorp grounds has already been approved by both Tropicorp and Vilitan officials.

TROPICORP SET TO TEST NEW BALLS

It was a rather disappointing olympic performance for the tropicorp engineers. Sure there was a lot to take away from the performances, a lot of data to analyze, and of course, a lot of improvements to make.

But it just made it hurt all the more. They were right there. They were so close. Vilitan athletes who were supposed to compete using tropicorp equipment were winning gold medals. They just weren't using the tropicorp equipment.

It was certainly fitting of a bittersweet description. Their countrymen were winning gold medals, moreso in fact than any other nation. But they were doing so in other equipment. It was a lesson to the engineers at Tropicorp that they weren't going to change the world in a day, it was going to take time.

While one of the reasons Tropicorp itself was created was to remove the taxing industrial process of research, development and production of not-so-nature friendly things, Tropicorp itself did have a primary charter to research ways to take those very processes and make them more environmentally neutral.

It is perhaps in this arena that Tropicorp is most likely, if they should succeed, to have the greatest impact on the multiverse. However, until those breakthroughs come, they will sure maintain their sports themed side projects like designing a lighter, faster bobsled and cranking out trucks full of high performance racing tyres to be shipped all over the multiverse.

Tropicorp Tyres were used on the winning ride during the inaugural Nationstates Grand Prix championships and are now a fixture on the Hodori Motorsports circuit, as well as around local race tracks throughout Vilita, Turori and portions of Atlantian Oceania.

However, Tropicorp has yet to break in on Vilita's biggest sporting attraction: The Vilitan National Team. Tropicorp is certainly pushing Association Football as an avenue to familiarize themselves with the Vilitan public. For the first time in history, there is a competition to decide which teams will be accepted into the Vilitan League at the start of each new season - and Tropicorps name is all over it. The Tropicorp Lower Leagues even have a team based in Tropicorp - Tropicorp FC.

But the Vilita National Teams kits are still made by Vilitan firm 3WD. 3WD's relationship with the Vilita National Team is so ingrained in the culture, in fact, that they don't even waste space on the kits by putting their logo on them. Its just, the National Team kits.

There is an opening, however, for Tropicorp. The balls. Of course, international balls might be a different story, but they have to start somewhere, and it may take time for them to get the formula right. However, Tropicorp engineers have developed initial prototypes of a ball that is rounder and lighter than a traditional ball whilst still meeting the same quality and performance attributes desired by major international and domestic sporting associations.

It is believed that Tropicorp is going to begin offering its Prototype TCp-X1 Ball to Atlantian Oceania sporting associations at no cost for use in their domestic leagues or on the training ground, and expects to receive suitable feedback such that Tropicorp balls will be coming off the production line ahead of the World Cup 69 qualifiers.

Nations from outside of Atlantian Oceania may also be able to get their hand's on Tropicorp Balls but will likely be required to pay a fee and sign a technology exclusivity with Tropicorp.

While Tropicorp Officials have not formally announced this program, it is believed that more information will be revealed in the coming weeks.
