RNN; Roman News Network
Capital City Nova Roma, Nova Roma
Marcellvm Forvm

"...back to you Gaivs!"

The camera swivels to a news desk and focuses in on a brown-haired young man, dressed fashionably in a Starblaydian business suit. He shuffles some papers and addresses the camera.

"In other news, RNN inside sources tell us that Imperator Tyrannvs may be planning the purchase of several new fleets from Imperial Praetonian Shipyards. The estimated prices is said to be in the bill-"

The reporter is cut off as something off screen catches his attention, he nods, the screen goes to technical difficulties and you hear him order someone to get a helicopter over the area.

The screen returns to the young man.

"It appears that there is something extremely exciting going on in the Marcellvm Forvm, reports of.... Communists, protesting!"

A disembodied female voice off-screen speaks,

"That's right Gaivs! Now according to the law of 2756, all citizens of Nova Roma were to be affiliated with the Roman Party, in other words, all citizens were to be affiliated with the Imperator's party. This prevented any other parties, such as the communists we are about to see in a moment, from forming in Nova Roma.

However, that law was later repealed in 2757 and was replaced by the act that abolished elections. Of course, everyone had grown so accustomed to the superior rule of Tyrannvs that no one saw the need to form any new parties.

Unfortunately, after the devastating conflict with Lamoni, it would appear communists have entered Nova Roma and have been preaching their filth to the youth of our nation.

Ahh... It looks like we're over Marcellvm Forvm now!"

The screen switches to the onboard camera of the helicopter and a large market-like pavilion can be seen. In the center is a large marble platform flanked on both sides by obelisks made of the same white stone.

Filling the pavilion are groups of protestors wielding signs condemning the actions of Imperator Tyrannvs and demanding he step down. The voice of the female returns.

"Many of these protestors are students caught up in the whirlwind of the communist propaganda, but if we look a little closer we can see that each group of protestors is actually led by a much older individual. Antonivs, could you zoom in a little bit?"

The camera zooms in on a group and then on the older individual controlling it.

"As one would expect, foreigners, polluting the minds of our innocent college students. What a shame. That man appears to be Lamonian. Let's go to another group."

A turn of the camera and a Chacorian man appears.

"Filthy immigrants!"

Three small black Humvees pull up to the Forvm, .50 caliber machineguns mounted on the tops. The doors open and Praetorians pile out. The crowd grows wild, throwing beer bottles, glass, paper, rocks, and dirt, anything they can get their hands on at the Praetorians.

"It would appear that Imperator Tyrannvs has gotten wind of this event. To those of you at home with young ones, you may want to change channels. Tyrannvs' Praetorians are not known for their patience or their kindness!"

A gunshot rings out from the crowd.

"Oh gods! Someone has fired a shot!"

The bullet pings off the armor of a nearby Praetorian; he brings up his weapon and delivers a three-round burst to the head of a group leader. The man slumps over, his revolver falling from his hand onto the marble ground as blood sprays the faces of his students. Pandemonium follows.

Tear gas is fired into the crowd and the Praetorians begin arresting students and their leaders and separating them into different groups. The cameraman and the news reporters are speechless, either too excited or too frightened to do anything but let the action carry on.

Finally, over 3,000 students are rounded up along with over 500 foreign antagonists. The latter are lined up against the walls of the Forvm and the Humvees pull up. The machineguns are manned and the filth are sprayed with .50 caliber bullets.

Sausage-like entrails and brains smear and spatter against the walls and grounds of the Forvm. Bodies are torn in half by the velocity and power of the bullets. Limbs are ripped from their bodies and screams have but seconds to last before they are extinguished by death.

Those few that survive are left on the ground with either no legs, no arms, neither, severe bullet wounds, and the horror of seeing their comrades slaughtered right in front of them.

One pathetic soul is seen attempting to crawl away, shreds of what some could consider legs dragging against the ground. A Praetorian strides over to the man, brings up his foot and smashes it down on the head of the filth, spewing brains all across the ground.

Feminine laughter is heard.

"Oh my, Gaivs! I haven't seen anything like that in some time! Those gladiatorial games were getting quite boring, what with Maximvs winning them all and sparing his foes!"

The screen returns to the RNN news room and Gaivs is seen laughing with tears in his eyes, he has the film play back to the part where the Praetorian crushes the man's skull and nearly has a seizure laughing so hard.

Attempting to regain his posture, he straightens out his suits, tries to dry his eyes, but only starts laughing again.

The show cuts to a commercial.

President Lauir recieved the call from the alliance meeting in the mountains of Starblaydia. He listened for a moment and said...

"Its great propaganda for the governmental levels, making the foreign alliance look meek in comparison to our strong alliance. Keep it out of the regular media channels. Not many people around here appreciate violence as much as they used to."

He pulled the phone away from his ear and was about to end the call, but then thought a moment and put it back. "Make sure you get me a tape of the footage."

He smirked and hung up.

Knowing that a statement had to be made, a Lamonian Foreign Ministry spokesman walked over to the podium and made an announcement:

"AO citizens, and various members of the press. We have seen the Nova Roman footage of their forces gunning down a political protest. While any Lamonian present in this protest was there without the knowledge or support of the Lamonian government, and the Communist Party in Lamoni is a small fringe element; it goes against the beliefs of all Lamonian citizens to see peaceful protesters shot. Not all of the protesters were peaceful, but that does not excuse the use of lethal force. The government will release it's decision on a reaction to this unexcusable barbaric spectacle at a later time. Thank you."

With footage of the executions flowing on every channel of the communication networks throughout the country, President Tariskany was delighted. "-explicitive removed-ing commies."

We must stand together, to stop the Bolshevik threat in Atlantian Oceania with all means, in case of need, even with violence.

Victory of the free capital at any price!

"You bastards, you utter bastards!" Was the reply of King Falcon II. "And Latao is no better. Who the hell do you think you are, Cherry bloody Ridge?"

Posted by: Latao Apr 20 2005, 02:49 PM
Latao will always stand against communism, Oceania needs us, as bulwark against red tyranni.

Posted by: Lamoni Apr 20 2005, 04:53 PM
While the democratic peoples of the Free Republic dislike Communism and Communists, we do not believe that killing them is the answer unless they either start a war against AO, or a Civil War against the Free Republic.

Posted by: Nova Roma Apr 20 2005, 05:54 PM
Ahh... But they have already begun their war. Undermining the foundations of national economies and planting the seeds of destruction within the minds of our youth!

The Holy Saints wishes to make it clear that the actions taken by Nova Roma are deemed an act of horrible cruelty to a legitimate group. If similar actions are taken in the future, THS authorities will take appropriate measures against Nova Roma.

"Send my personal praise and applause to the Nova Roma government for removing of these delinquents. Scum such as these deserve no right to live..."

"Yes, my Lord."

A threat is it? Appropriate measures?

Let it be known that not even you, THS, can hide from the prying VOIA. Your actions are well known to us Romans, but we enjoy it. We enjoy the slaughter of innocent inhabitants of those islands you seek to reclaim. That is, until you condemn us for slaughter that takes place within the sovereign confines of Nova Roma. At that point, you are merely the pot, calling the kettle black.

Hahaha, no. We don't like this, and you can't expect to get away with it. If they were any other group than communists, we would be at war right now. I don't like those nations who think they have the right to kill people who are innocent by international law. So watch your step.

Latao would would have wished that support (from Falcania) in our conflict with Sarzonia, but Falcon preferred to eat a sausage instead of helping us.
Nova Roma is a friendly nation of us and enjoys our full support.

I'll have you know it was Falcon, and I agreed with Sarzonia. However, I hoped we could have put that behind us, but if you are siding with a nation that elected a government OK with slaughter, I have no choice but to declare Latao an Threat to the Freedon of the Nation.

This isn't a game, you two.

The so-called 'dictators' obviously have a higher understanding for values such as morality and faithfullness.
You support a terrorist regime that puts innocent people into jail for political reasons they can't change, a regime that blackmails souverein peace loving states with their jailed citiziens.
Starblaydia and Nova Roma always treatened us right, while we mostly received arrogance of the self-claimed "nice countries"

Posted by: Lamoni Apr 21 2005, 04:37 PM
I have news for you, Latao. These dictators execute or exile people who don't bend to their every whim. In comparison to the members of the SAAS, Sarzonia's 'crimes' pale. The Free Republic gets no enjoyment from watching people with political viewpoints different from those of the ruling dictator be executed for those viewpoints. We stand with Falcania in this matter.

Actually, you are incorrect Lamoni. While the members of the SAAS are indeed dictators, I'll have you reminded that this does not equal a horrible abuse of human rights.

Roman citizens, for example, are allowed to live their lives freely. They have as much privacy as they could possibly need, they can smoke whatever they like, they can marry who or whatever they like, they have the freedom to buy whatever they want, they have the freedom to become multi-billionaires; it is only in the realm of politics in which Roman citizens are forbidden to have any say.

However, we see that most of the SAAS members don't commit such open slaughters as Nova Roma does. You could say that Nova Roma is the extreme of the SAAS members, and even then, the Roman economy is 100 times as powerful as your own, and our civil rights, for which you proclaim to be non-existant, are higher than yours.

That is because they are mere simpletons, they stand in the way of our reclaiming of the artifacts our people seek. They are no loss if killed, they have little mind power beyond their motor functions and a simple social structure. These protestors, however, within your land may enlighten you to a different view, and there is more use in studying them than destroying them. In fact, if study proves useful, use their own thoughts against them. They are no match for a nation such as Nova Roma which must surely have a wide base of intellect to appropriately counter their thoughts. If they do not give in after a difinitive argument, then yes, we agree that destroying them is best. We even entreat you to some of our best minds to destroy and pick apart their structure, even subdue the minds of their lesser members and turn them against their 'cause', if they are a threat to your nation and it's ideals. Call it a goodwill exchange, if you will.

After all, Tyrannvs didn't do more than cleaning up with a real dangerous movement, he did it before the wave could have swamped over and infiltrated other capitalist nations.

We recognize Nova Roma as a static factor for stability in Atlantian Oceania.

I don't. I call them raving lunatics. What the hell happened to conventional riot control?

Posted by: Latao Apr 22 2005, 02:31 AM
Unlike Falcania, Latao would never start a war because of foreign internal affairs. We respect the souvernity of an independent nation.

Your view on political dissidents is interesting; a new venue that we may consider. However, as the communists are no more, we must refuse your offer.

Perhaps you fail to see the seriousness of the issue. Had the scum not fired upon the Praetorian Guard, they may have been sent to re-education centers. Instead, they chose to take their chances against the most elite military force in the region. A fatal mistake indeed.
